*after traveling for many days the Holmes Rookie Val pins a note on the Asceneded notice board* It Reads: Hail Ascended, I am the Holmes Rookie Val, and on behalf of the Holmes I would like to propose a deal, we would greatly like to call ye our allies but of course, that means we must give you assistance in some way, so we may not have a whole lot to offer in the way of supplies, however, the Holmes will help in any time of need, for example if there is a bad of undead somewhere and ye are short a few warriors we will assist, and in return if for example, the Holmes have a particularly dangerous criminal or criminals that we are after and have located but cannot capture them on our own, the Asceneded will assist, this of course doesnt mean that ye would send a sage, but perhaps one or two ascended that are not busy. At the age of two his uniqueness was starting to show in more than his looks, he was able to speak as well as most orcs that were five times his age. By his fifth birthday he was able to speak with just near perfect grammar, which was odd because the only people with good grammar that he ever saw was the odd traveler, and even then they were usually too drunk to sound much better than the orcs. He was also beginning to realize his ability at sorting out conflict, for example, one time there was a dwarven traveler who was having a fight with an orcish warrior, all he needed to do was step between them, point out how they were both wrong on some things and by the end they were having a drink in the local tavern together. Now, lets skip past a few more years, he is now 13 and nearing what for orcs is adulthood, he speaks as fluently as any elf and can sort out just about any conflict that arises in Sanjezal with only words, which is lucky because there is no chance he could win in any kind of fight, being blind and having little more strength than a human, he has learned the paths of the city so well that sight is not needed, his hearing is excellent so bumping into people is not an issue, so you may think perhaps he has no issues aside from the obvious, but you would be wrong, you see, he has been having a dream, about a shining jewel hidden beneath the sand, calling to him, and he has decided that upon his fourteenth birthday he will search for it, and that is tomorrow. Now he must gear up, the sands are unknown to him and his blindness will be a big hindrance, or so he thought. It seems that all the gear he brought would not be needed, the jewel called to him so strongly he could just follow the sound. After hours or maybe days of walking he came to a stop, the sound was resonating beneath his feet. Digging down into the ground he fell into a small cave...or tomb. Either way he could sense the jewels presence was close, walking towards it he came to a stop about a foot away from the jewel, reaching out slowly he grabbed it. As soon as he grabbed it something flowed through him, an understanding, a power. Quickly letting go of the jewel he fell back, shocked. After regaining his wits he stood back up and grabbed it again, this time not being so startled by its power, realizing that the jewel was actually attached to a large belt he buckled it around his waist, it fit perfectly on his slim frame. And all of the sudden there was a flash of light right across his vision... wait... vision?! He could see! The jewel had given him the power of sight, or what he would think of it as, for us to look through his...eyes?... would be very different from what we are used to.
