  1. Out-Of-Character Information Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate. Minecraft Account Name: Ahhhh_No_Way How old are you?: 17 Time-Zone: CST Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: I have played on other Minecraft roleplaying servers before. How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: I saw a link to LotC on a Minecraft server website. Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/82492-elf/ Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above): Yes, http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/832121-the-lord-of-the-craft-enter-the-world-of-asulon-o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y-t-h-e-n-o-1-r-p-s-e-r-v-e-r-100-unique-gameplay/page__st__2360#entry21136405 Have you read the Elven lore, and shall youensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: Yes Definitions In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!: Role-playing: Role-playing is taking on the characteristics of a fictitious person. You act as that person would act. You think as that person would think. Meta-gaming: Meta-gaming is the use of information that your character should not know. It is information gained OOC that your character would not know IC. The use of meta-gaming causes no need to RP (which is why I won't be meta-gaming). Power-emoting: Power-emoting is when you have your character do actions that are overpowered. This effectively makes a god character or other such impossible characters. This would be like creating a character that is able to insta-kill an enemy with a magic spell that they just made up. In-Character Information: Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Akalathri Ibar Current Age: 101 Sub-race (if any): High Elf Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Akalathri was born on a cold autumn day. His was in a middle-class family. They were not the richest in their village, but they were able to afford some commodities. They were able to hire a maid to help around their house. She was a young High Elf, by the name of Celia. Celia had only worked for Akalathri's family for about two years before Akalathri started to take a liking to her. He made some advances on her, which she initially rejected. However, he was a young elf, only 40, and was hasty in making any and all decisions. Soon after his 45th birthday, Akalathri went to Celia in the middle of the night and asked her to come with him. He asked her to journey with him away from their families and adventure into the world together. After some persuasion, Celia agreed to go with him. They quickly gathered up their necessary belongings and set off into the night. They only made it to the third night. While they were sleeping, some thieves came into their camp. As they were searching for valuable goods, Celia woke and took notice to the robbers. She quickly woke Akalathri up. He grabbed his rusty blade, which he had not used for quite some time, and tried to fend off the robbers. There was a short fight. These thieves were skilled in fighting with swords, while Akalathri was only skilled in fighting with his mind. During the fight, Akalathri was knocked out due to a gauntlet smack to the head. The last thing he saw was Celia, who was being chased by some of the thieves. When Akalathri came to, he immediately started searching for Celia. He searched for days, yet he found no trace of her. He did not pray that he would find her, for he did not believe in a higher being. He only used his logic and reasoning to try and figure out what happened. However, he was not able to discern whether she had been killed, captured, or been able to escape. There was nothing to be found regarding his lost Celia. Now,Akalathri wanders from town to town. He had given up on his search for Celia years ago. He will wander until he is able to settle down in a new town, with a new life. Ambitions for the Future: Akalathri's main ambition is to make new friends to help coax him back into life in a village. He then plans on getting a job as a merchant or start his own tavern. Building a library is one of the last things that he plans on doing. Personality: Akalathri is either in a somber mood or a excited one. He can become very involved in a conversation if it interests him. If it does not, then he draws back into himself and is quiet and watchful. Skills: Akalathri has worked somewhat on his bowmanship and his swordsmanship. He is in no means skilled in either means of combat but he is eager to learn (he sometimes ends up hurting himself more than the enemy). He enjoys pawning items to others as well as reading books aloud to them. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Akalathri wears a crimson robe with dull gold embroidery. His hair is a light yellow and not very long. It covers his head but does not drop down below his shoulders. His eyes have a light green hue. He is taller than most High Elves, standing at 6 feet 6 inches. Any other details you wish to share about your character: Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. 1. As you walk through the deep forests you hear the sound of whispering and snickering. Upon inspection you realize that a group of High Elves are mocking a small Wood Elf child. How do you react? Answer: As Akalathri sees this situation unfolding, he realizes that he faces a dilemma. He knows that if he defends the Wood Elf, the High Elves would think badly of him. However, he also knows that what these particular High Elves are doing is cruel. Approaching the group, Akalathri shouts, “Oi! Get off of that young one. He has done nothing wrong.” The High Elves, seeing Akalathri, are stunned. After a pause, the leader of the group says, “This is none of your business. If you know what is best for you, you’ll leave.” He stands in front of Akalathri while trying to look intimidating. “Oh, this is my business. No one should be treating another like this. You vagabonds should just leave right now,” advised Akalathri. “Why should we listen to you? You have no right to tell us what to do.” “You should listen to be because I could easily slay you all,” bluffed Akalathri, while keeping an expressionless face and putting his hand on the hilt of his rusty sword. Apparently, the leader and his group believed Akalathri because they looked around nervously and started to back away. They then turned and ran as the leader shouted, “You made a bad mistake, elf. You are as low as the scum you are protecting!” No doubt other High Elves will distance themselves from Akalathri in the future. However, Akalathri did not regret his decision of protecting the Wood Elf. Making one good friend out of the Wood Elf will counteract making friends with those cruel High Elves. 2. Whilst wandering through the Elven forests you come across a frail old man with a walking stick. He collapses in front of you, falling to the ground with a sharp thud. Out of his pocket falls a small pouch of gold coins, which hits the ground and splits open spreading coins across the pathway. The man lies there, defenseless - what do you do? Answer: Akalathri rushes to the man’s side. He explained, “Don’t worry, sir. I will help pick up these coins for you. “Why thank you, good lad. If only there were more people like you.” As Akalathri picked up the coins, the old man sat down on a nearby log. Akalathri asked the old man, “What are you doing walking around in this part of the forest all alone? Aren’t there highwaymen in these parts?” The old man responded, “Ah. Yes, yes, there are. However, I am not as defenseless as I seem. I was once a strong warrior in my younger years.” *cough* *cough* Akalathri handed the man his coins and chuckled. “Well, those were the years past. Nowadays you have to be careful because you never know what could be lurking around the next corner.” Akalathri then lead the man to his destination in order to ensure he made it there safely. To show his gratitude with Akalathri, the old man gave him a gift of a few coins. The old man said, “Thank you, I rarely see anyone spare their time to help a needy old man.” 3. Whilst traversing the Elven Woodlands, you come across a small clearing in which a colored carriage sits. A trader stands outside of it and calls you over, telling you of his wares. He points out that his carriage sells just about everything, and that he's willing for you to haggle for a price. What does your character do? (Please include:- item, haggling for prices and the discussion involved). Answer: Looking through the wares, Akalathri notices a shiny, gold circlet. "Eeeii! Look at that shiny. Pretty. Gold circlet!" exclaimed Akalathri, "I must have it! I must have it!" As the merchant thinks of its price value, he also thinks of its potential value to Akalathri. "I'll sell it for 100 Minas. It is a rare piece of jewelry that I purchased off in a far away land. See that gemstone? That is ruby, and not a scratch on it." "Hmmmm, give me a second," said Akalathri, who was busy collecting himself. His beginning remark was unlike him. He had been trying to keep his excitement concealed in order to get a good deal on these goods. He had planned on acting like the circlet was not too important to him and therefore making the merchant sell it to him for less. "100 Minas is quite a bit for this circlet. It must only be worth around 50." Inspecting the circlet more closely, he discovered a chip in the ruby. "What do you mean there is not even a scratch? That entire part of the ruby is chipped off! This piece of metal wouldn't even be worth 50! The most that I will pay is 40." The merchant started to look around at the rest of his wares. "Well...maybe I could part with it for 40 Minas. That would be enough to buy some new wheels for my carriage. Hmmm." After a short pause, the merchant came to a decision. "Fine, I guess I cooouuld sell this for 40 minas. It would be barely any profit for me but fine. I've been carrying this piece of jewelry around for weeks, and youare the first to ask to buy it. Deal, 40 Minas for the circlet." After the two of them exchanged items and money, they both went their separate ways. Akalathri with the new circlet and the merchant with his money.
