  1. Kri’Ki

-The Lord of Rivers, Marshes and Swamps-

    UFlqYW_QDSb4YX_CyU6y6JlXqLW9_7T8bQlWWAuh6sOTwHSoCzOetJWlZ96WaLmIHRH8VpGjNCAK842u-rRNUwFi_7jvN3hieb_OaCazqBOoiTD23v4_4b4Io4Cen1aQYmmfwhSu

    Origins

Kri’Ki is the Prince of Crocodiles, Rivers, Marshes and Swampland, being the God of Armour, Patience and Seasonal Floods. Known in his realm within the Eternal Forest being a River that flows through all the Domains of the Fae feeding the growth and ensuring the denizens of the Fae Realm can survive and thrive through his guardianship of the rivers. While he maintains a watch on the rivers and tributaries within the Eternal Forest and the World at large, it does not mean they are not without dangers as he also represents the patient hunter readying to strike at any time from the depths, when prey leasts suspects.

To many he may seem lethargic and slothful, resting most days until his hunger must be sated but to those in tune to his nature they understand that he is patience incarnate and knows only to use his energy when most needed to. A trait passed onto his subjects, the crocodiles and alligators of the world and that of the eternal forest, being hulky armoured beasts that while powerful and are not to be trifled with, representing to many that he is the God of protection as well as patience.

    Xm2vEW4bLNPbH1pHFcp41yudaxr64ZHNCeTZeXTiu2qgz4xyEavyb_JeoL9YyAUQSPO0olQylfj6ZdlXoyRQ8BZ0Aa5QLN8_Te0J4GuGXwli0seauxiagTEK-PCKIhkb1ilhlyaL

Lastly it is known that he brings about the yearly flooding within his realm that stretches across the Eternal Forest, bestowing this blessing to those in the world itself should the balance be adequately adhered to by the descendants. Kri’Ki has known to be quick to anger, especially by descendants who do not follow any form of the balance, but also by his fellow Mani Princes having brought about droughts in vengeance and leaving the only bodies of water carefully guarded by his Crocodilian minions creating a treacherous risk for any who would seek to drink from his rivers.

    Patron Purpose

What Kri’Ki represents to many is the patient hunter and attempting to bestow this blessing upon all, but also representing boons such as natural armour. Outside of his more Cernunnos side, he also maintains the rivers, swamps and marshes, responsible for natural flooding that becomes the lifeblood to many, animal and descendant alike. Those who dare summon him and disturb his slumber typically seek to appease him for flooding, or are hunters seeking his patience and protection.

As the lord of all Crocodilians he uses his subjects to maintain his gaze upon the waterways of the world to ensure the balance is kept within them and enacting vengeance upon those who seek to trespass and ruin them. All those who adhere to the Druidic Faith know that he may be laying in wait for anyone without them even knowing, despite the power and size of his minions, they always have the element of surprise on their side.

    Relationship with other Mani

Kri’Ki has something of a complicated relationship with the other Mani, having an affinity with the Avian Mani due to a shared protective nature over their nests, but holds something of a disdain for the Prince of Lizards, for it is he who represents those who would steal eggs from the nest. Outside of these Mani, Kri’ki tends to keep his distance from the others, once having fought with Morea and once having formed a bondship with Amaethon.

As obvious note, all mani guidelines apply to this piece. Interactions and appearances may only be done by ST.

    ANN - Broadcast

“Good Evening this is Aestival News at 10pm, tonight's headlines are a recent victory by AoN forces coordinated by Secretary General Sanderski has caused elation worldwide as yet another threat had been eliminated, while there are still many Kaiju in the world and their numbers never seeming to thin out to extinction the confidence of national, business and community leaders across the world has been raised that not only Drakengard forces are competent but also national militaries which assisted in the operation leading to very few casualties. For his quick response to the situation the General Secretary of the Alliance of Nations was offered several orders of merit from various nations, while a sometimes controversial figure on the security council none can doubt his handling of the situation was excellent.

Tensions rose in the Security Council with various members protesting the admittance of the so called ‘Alpha Species’ with many perceiving them as a potential threat to the security of the world. With their ability to absorb Kaiju abilities into their own Pseudo-Kaiju some believe there is more to them than they let on. Though Drakengard assures us that the Kaiju are most certainly hostile to these creatures. It led to a crucial vote to make it illegal for the leaders of the so-called ‘Alpha Species’ to absorb Kaiju abilities without the express permission of the Security Council. A vote to expel their leaders from the Security Council narrowly failed and almost led to a follow up vote to attempt to remove the General Secretary for his perceived protective nature over them.

Terrorist attacks have been reported across the Chrysian Colonies, in certain districts in the Emritian Republics and across the Sumiyoshi Clan Holdings. It is unknown at this time whether or not it is all linked or all isolated incidents. As this does not fall under the purview of Kaiju attacks national Governments will be required to quell their own respective unrest. In other events Drakengard observers have stated that there has been a significant increase in Nephilite Particles in the Atmosphere, while harmless to humans the increased usage of the technology has caused a side effect, it was unknown before now but the particles of Nephilite appear to disrupt radio waves and other forms of communication, so far the most that is affected is the guidance system in missiles which has rendered guided missiles effectively useless. Stay tuned for sports and weather.

[Guided Missiles now have decreased effectiveness due to Nephilite Particles in the planets atmosphere, radio communication is still operational but in operation zones with high usage of Nephilite based weapons with their reactors it can be disrupted]

    Tautu Republika

The Republic has yet another year of productivity and no interruptions, it is easy for it to do so well when it is in its isolated corner of the world. The people remain as content as they can be in the world that they find themselves in, however nearby the Chrysian Colonies request assistance in the form of Military Police that could be used due to them suffering internal strife and their homelands either unwillingness or inability to do it for them.

    The Corporation

The unrest within the Corporations holdings is fully quelled and leads to the employees returning to their duties as good workers once again. People are once more feeling safe with the investment into the police and the rise of the Corporations finances once again now that the investigation is concluding. The results of the investigation are for the time being held by the General Secretary so it might be prudent for the executives to ensure that everything is all on the up and up within the Alliance of Nations.

With the establishment of the broadcast centre, many foreign broadcasters and channels wish to establish themselves within the Corporations holdings, due to lower rents and taxes. It is announced that the Aestival News Network will be moving to Entropy Holdings. [+500 A Turn from the Broadcast Centre, should it be expanded it could potentially produce more money]

    Fairfax Defense Solutions International

Fairfax continues to see its fortunes rise and continue to do so in a steady fashion, their name recognition being spread across the world. It is to this effort that the Yashida Group would approach the private military corporation in order to secure a contract for them.

The little science directory continues its work in peace within its mountain stronghold, very little wishes to bother them and it suits many of the engineers and scientists within their community just fine. Their projects continue as planned with the deadlines inching ever closer and structures being sprung up wherever there is space for them. The Schenbergs would request a meeting however, due to both organisations' love for science to see whether or not there is room for cooperation.

    Sumiyoshi Clan

The Clans are at war! A civil war has erupted within the Sumiyoshi Territory between those loyal to the main Sumiyoshi Clan and the subclans that have decided to rebel and halt  their tribute payment towards their boss. Blood is on the street as this war isn’t as all out as other conflicts in the world; it has caused a drain on the Clans' finances, but at the very least those who remain on their side are now loyal. Federal Republic of Almania

The President of the Emritian Republics asks the Almanians to keep their guard up, due to their own nation suffering from recent terrorist attacks, they don’t ask for aid but said if any were sent they’d appreciate it. Other than that all is quiet within Almania, the terrorist threat that is seemingly permeating across the globe hasn’t found its way into the walled Republic.

    Tsardom of Khasavo

Khasavo now building ties with Chryse through marriage see’s celebration and elation across its Empire now the wedding has occurred, no incidents were recorded to have happened during the ceremony or other celebratory events. Many dignitaries from across the world appeared but most importantly for the Khasavo, other nobles from Chryse that were not limited to the House of Draken.

Okhrana budget increases are welcome by those working inside of it leading to further internal security and protection from any potential threats of this nature.

    Skylords of Avar

Other nations appreciate the Skylords taking a stance against piracy, hoping that they might be able to become a bulwark against them due to their increasing efforts against the trading lanes of the rest of the world. Other than that the Skylords continue their economic recovery and the AoN inspectors resume their visits now the Crab Kaiju has been eliminated.

  3. Devastation

    Year 42 P.D

    ANN - Broadcast

“Good Evening this is Aestival News at 10pm, tonight's headlines are the worldwide markets receive a boost as the tensions between the Entropy Corporate State and the AoN Investigation into Professor Anton Korolov are put to rest, with Entropy Inc allowing the AoN Investigators into their territory to conduct a full and thorough investigation into the claims put forward by the Xi’an Provinces that an employee of the Corporate State was responsible for his murder. Lead Investigator from Drakengard, Captain Tiberius Stettin says due to the delay it will take some time before results can be met and for now much of the investigation is under wraps. Despite this with the market relief, there are concerns that if the investigation comes up unfavourably for Entropy it could lead to a conflict.

Drakengard Security Forces among other national task groups have managed to lure a Kaiju off the coast of the Xi’an Provinces into a more favourable battleground for the combined forces. Concerns over the costs of this operation have been raised by the Fujian Federation, since Drakengard have spent the year attempting to lure the Kaiju back out to sea but have failed, costing some lives and forcing a longer operational time for those stationed aboard this small task force. Battle is expected to begin in the early months of this year during the Southern Hemispheres summertime. Live updates will be available on our net site once hostilities commence.

It would seem the 40s are the decade of megastructures, megaprojects and mega construction, the Schenberg Group has resumed construction on all four of its Orbital Elevator sites across the world and has signed a lucrative protection contract with Fairfax, leading to a sharp increase in the Private Military Companies share price. The Entropy Corporation has also begun its own megaproject of the Emritian-Entropy Undersea Tunnel system, designed to create a system of freight trains and vehicle tunnels to connect the North and South Continent without having to pay the price for Airships or attempt to move through the Exclusion Zone and the Harmon Territory. All this news leaves many to hold out hope that with massive funding going towards civil projects that hopefully it can bring the world closer together. Stay tuned for sports and weather.”

    Tautu Republika

All proceeds as planned within the Republic, with the recruitment of Military Police to ensure law and order is maintained those few people truly disgruntled about their lot in life will keep any complaints civil or to themselves. Construction is aplenty with the shipyards providing a lot of manual labour low skilled work for the impoverished peoples of Tautu. In short the researchers are researching, the builders are building and the Republic is acting as a highly functional and relatively prosperous nation considering the times.

    The Corporation

The unrest continues as many see without police on the streets and the Military either being too heavy handed or not willing to do policing duties they see as beneath them crime rates remain steady. However with the new deal struck between Entropy and the Emritian some of the unrest is quelled. Unrest reduced to -5000 G a turn until 10,000 Police are recruited.

Project E.Unity begins, workers on both sides of the proposed tunnel begin building the entrances on either side, the entrances are expected to be completed by 48 P.D. should the same annuel investments be met.

    Fairfax Defense Solutions International

The PMC would see a fair bit of new business and investment interests go their way after signing the lucrative protection contract with the Schenberg Conglomerate, making headline news and bringing the public's attention to Fairfax in a positive light.

The Anti-Icarus Missile Launcher project goes ahead, it is fairly simple in concept as anti-vehicle weapons are not exactly too complex. Expected by 46 P.D.

    Xi’ian Provinces

The Crab Kaiju is close, leaving an air of anxiety for many within the Provinces, religious figures would begin ceremonies and speak to the gods and spirits that the common Xi’an might worship to bring them victory. Even the Scarlet Emperor of the Fujian Federation expresses his worry and concern to the Governor.

The Fujian Emperor writes his letter of thanks to the Governor, officially bestowing the title of Marquis onto him. The Communists and Republican Nationalists within the Federation protest this, the relationship between the Provinces and the Monarchy is heightened, but at the expense of its relationship with the Communists and the Republicans.

The Task force from Almania is sent forth with high public support, the people of the Republic holding the Kaiju in the lowest regard and want the heroes of their nation to be fighting the perpetual war, it is clear to the Government that the mood of the Country is that the Devastation War never really ended for them, even as the peace has persisted for many years and official rationing ended.

    Tsardom of Khasavo

Khasavo is bustling with a more celebratory mood with the Crown Prince of the Empire confirmed to be marrying a Princess of Chryse bringing the two nations together. The wedding is held within Khasavo itself this year and a formal pact is signed between Khasavo and the Principality of Arnheim.

    Okhrana is fully established.

    Skylords of Avar

The Skylords are given a reprieve, this year the Drakengard Inspectors are absent, their organisation clearly stretched thin. Other than that the Skylords Conference can go on unimpeded by nosey Drakengard inspection teams, for now at the very least.

  4. Devastation

    Year 41 P.D

    ANN - Broadcast

“Good Evening this is Aestival News at 10pm, tonight's headlines are the heightened tensions after the death of Professor Anton Korolov. Xi’an Authorities investigation suggests that the prime suspect of the murder was an employee in a subsidary company for the Entropy Corporation. Having submitted its findings to the Alliance of Nations, General Secretary Sanderski announced he would send Alliance representatives to assist further investigation within Corporate Territory. The Entropy Corporation Protested this and disallowed the investigators entry into their territory. A vote was held in the Alliance Security Council to sanction Entropy but it was vetoed. It is understood that General Secretary Sanderski is working tirelessly with ambassadors and representatives to end the deadlock.

Piracy once more becoming an issue across the world, in 35 P.D. Dozens of ships that were set to be scrapped in accordance with the Arnheim Peace Accords were stolen by ex-service men and women across the world after their military service was terminated and employment nullified. Many felt betrayed they took to the skies with these ships. In a recent skirmish between Yashida-Sumiyoshi Security Forces and a Light Carrier belonging to the so called Sky Devil Outlaw Association it was found the issue is much more widespread than initially anticipated. With many of the Free Cities and their Associations reporting mass raids on their shipping.

A Kaiju sighting has been confirmed by Drakengard heading towards the Xi’an Provinces, it is considered to be of Category 2 in its size and it is accompanied by many smaller Kaiju. Thus far attempts of heading off this group have failed and Cornelius Draken is recommending deployment of the Damocles and its fleet in order to protect the Provinces, though only the General Secretary can officially sanction his deployment. Stay tuned for sports and weather.”

    Tautu Republika

With the Naval Bill expansion it creates many good job prospects for those that are unemployed within the Republic, it signifies to outsiders that the economy is strong and stable relative to the world and its current situation and it generally leads to what is considered a fairly stable society.

The Research project looking into next generation turbines for the Jet Fighters of the Republican Airforce would be underway, it is believed it will be fully tested and ready by 44 P.D.

Creating a new ammunition type to break through Kaiju natural defences is simple enough, with research material leftover from Kaiju corpses and knowledge a prototype round should be ready by 45 P.D.

The Swarm Missile Project is underway, a delivery system is easy enough to create but a guidance system is very basic. Tautu Researchers determine that while the weapon itself should be effective enough it will be down to the tactical deployment of the weapon to be truly effective. Results are expected by 43 P.D.

    The Corporation

Due to the current level of international scrutiny and controversy the Corporation finds itself in, it sees a stock price reduction and some civil disorder. -2000 G until 5,000 Military Police are recruited to “Discourage” lawbreaking.

Special Forces research is expected to be completed by 44 P.D.

An Incredibly ambitious project that will require several phases of research to meet breakthroughs. The first breakthrough is hoped to be seen by 48 P.D.

Improvements on the Elysium Interface are a fairly simple concept, though still complex to figure out. Something is expected by 50 P.D.

    Fairfax Defense Solutions International

Fairfax see’s a bustling time, stock prices rise and generally there is a lot of contentment and skill put towards the work of the employees. The Emritians enjoyed their special relationship with the Corporation itself.

The Schenbergs would first ask for a meeting to discuss the terms of such an agreement. [Event]

Battle-Carriers are known as the most powerful class of warships in the world, so far only the most powerful nations and groups hold the ability to use them. Instead the team works on mastering the carrier concept to make regular carriers 48 P.D.

Upgrading the Drones sensors a reasonable achievable project, should be completed by 44 P.D.

The project to create a small energy cell from Nephilite is underway, creating something this small will take a long time but there is hope to see it done before the end of the decade. 48 P.D.

    Xi’ian Provinces

The Xi’an Provinces find themselves in the crosshairs of a potential Kaiju incursion, within the next year or so. Drakengard informs the authorities that they will do their best to attempt to head off the incursion, but state that the exact efforts of what they can do are limited unless given the greenlight by the General Secretary.

Gas attacks had been attempted in the past with no avail to the Kaiju, though there are attempts to create something new to attempt to affect it. A corrosive agent is thought up but it is most certainly able to harm people as well as Kaiju, though it is thought that only the smaller Kaiju could really be killed by it, the corrosive agent itself barely harming larger Kaju. Research expected to be done by 45 P.D.

Research into improved AA would be simple enough. Expected completion 44 P.D.

Improvements to the Dragon Gun are researched and theorized, results expected around 48 P.D.

    Exotec Corporation

The Project to create a miniaturized variant of the Nephilite Reactor is underway, it is something of a difficulty but not outside the realms of possibility. It is expected to see results by 50 P.D.

It had been theorized before that Nephilitic Energies could be used in such a manner to create barriers. Mostly just theories for now but the best scientists in the Exotec would begin researching this possibility. It has a similar expectation date of completion of 50 P.D.

Researching the Hazardous Environment Suit begins, results expected by 48 P.D.

Nephilite Powered rockets? Well an interesting proposition, the rocket frames itself can be designed through use of conventional tech, but the system to empower it would be best left to Nephilite based science teams. The rockets design and frame will however be ready by 48 P.D. after which Nephilitic research will be required to complete the project.

The Schenbergs thank the Exotec Corporation for the added investment to their space elevator project. They will invite Exotec researchers and engineers to study and learn from what they’re doing.

    Sumiyoshi Clan

The Sumiyoshi had shown great skill in dealing with the Pirate Carrier near its borders, to the point that the Sky Devil’s completely withdrew from the Island and its territories, seeking easier plunder. The citizens of the Sumiyoshi take this as a sign of competence from their overlords and remain content and diligent in their work. The lieutenants of the Sumiyoshi do their best to gather a lump sum of cash from their reserves, they do this but tell the boss they can’t do this regularly, they have mouths to feed and people to pay. 5000G Bonus

The Slag Missiles are put to the Sumiyoshi Labs, they ought to be ready by 46 P.D.

The Jets are put to the engineers and scientists of the Clan Holdings, they think they ought to have something they’d like by 45 P.D.

Old Man Yashida summons the Takashima back to the City [Event]

    Federal Republic of Almania

The Almanian Research into creating light barrier shields begins, albeit slowly. Attempting to utilise the Nephilite reactor from within is the main goal of the science team to attempt to use Nephilitic particles to create the barriers. Expected results are by 52 P.D.

Atlas Suit research would begin and would be expected to be completed by 45 P.D.

    Tsardom of Khasavo

One of the more powerful Princes from Chryse would make an official visit to the Khasavo, hoping to meet with the Tsar at the earliest convenience. [Event]

    Secret Research is Secret.

The Khasavo Airforce keeps an eye on the Kaiju to the North, for now they seem to just be scouting the coast.

    Skylords of Avar

The Avarians do their research all kept hidden from the prying eyes of the world. For now the AoN Inspectors are otherwise fooled or show disinterest in the sky nomads.

    Raptures Hand

The research into rudimentary dirty bombs progresses well, though it will take some time to even weaponise the Nephilite at the most basic level, it is expected that these bombs will be effective for terror attacks but may not be the best weapon for general warfare. Expected results 46 P.D

Special Forces research is expected to be completed by 44 P.D.

This research is quite an undertaking and it also is harder for the cult to hide, but it begins and is expected to be completed by 48 P.D. As a consequence they notice small Drakengard Patrols occurring in their territory.

    Kornograv SFSR

The research into Atlas Suits would begin and is expected to be done by 45 P.D.

Railgun research is relatively easy for the SFSR due to its abundance in the world, it will be completed by 43 P.D.

The RCKK welcome the rapprochement and would invite representatives for a State Banquet in their territory.

The Coasts are patrolled but the Kaiju are not interested in attacking, for now.

    The Alpha Species

Simply the name they gave the Drakengard during the latter years of the Devastation War, they are tolerated to an extent their representative is given a seat on the AoN. They find themselves the subject of intrigue and disdain for the mutants that they are. Yearly AoN Inspectors enter their territory and are expected to return. Their territory is a hotbed for smuggling and pirates temporarily stopping off, obviously quite a few of these criminals never leave the cursed territory.

  5. Devastation

    Year 40 P.D

    ANN - Broadcast

“Good evening this is Aestival News at 10pm tonight in the news, the Alliance of Nations picks a new General Secretary to determine the next five years of global policy, though increasingly the organisation is being sidelined and certain regulations are being ignored by countries around the world. The Kornograv SFSR were selected to send a representative to become the General Secretary and set up the new policy agenda, the plans for the organisation and attempt to bolster the struggling organisation during these times of so called peace. How the other Countries of the world will react to this decision is yet to be known, but most foreign offices are expressing congratulations towards the Kornograv for being selected.

Police Authorities in the Xi’ian Provinces have uncovered the body of Professor Antov Korolov, noted Physicist, Engineer and Nephilite Expert in their Capital City. Under the guise of a false identity Professor Korolov was in hiding for many years due to his weaponised Nephilite Device that appeared to awake the Kaiju, while no nation officially levied charges against him many sought to blame him for the Devastation War. Professor Korolov was discovered dead in his apartment with all windows and doors shut, appearing to have been killed by an unknown suspect and the cause of death being his throat being opened by a sharpened object. Authorities are unsure what to make of this as Korolov’s presence in Xi’ian was unknown to them.

It is announced that construction will continue on the Orbital Elevator foundations across the world, the megastructure project being started by the Schenberg Conglomerate an Emritian Corporation focused mainly in the energy sector. Representatives from the Corporation will begin construction as soon as the host nations once more agree to the terms originally set forth before the Devastation War over forty years ago. It is hoped with resources being funnelled into the construction the megastructure could potentially see completion within twenty to thirty years with the assistance of construction Icarus Suits to fasten the pace of the project. That’s it for the major headlines, now stay tuned to for sports and weather.”

    Tautu Republika

While no nation was ever left unscathed by the Kaiju attacks of the Devastation Wars, the Tautu territory was hit lighter than the others due to its location seemingly having fewer Kaiju emerge in the seas to its south. Due to this the people of the Republika are seemingly better off than many people in the world with a higher standard of living and are somewhat isolated from the rest of the world leading to others seeing them as complacent. It will be up to the current leaders of the Republic to set up a vision and pave the way for the future.

    The Corporation

With a simple name but a complex history, this corporate entity has shown the world what it means by “Hostile Takeover” through its relentless acquisition of land and capital throughout the Devastation War. Though there are some grumblings mainly from the Emritians concerning how they acquired many of their assets their position is secure due to their efforts in fighting the Kaiju and the strategic location they hold in the straits that separate the North and South of the Continent. Many outside parties are very much interested in the Corporations efforts in Space, especially the Schenberg Conglomerate which seeks to create an orbital ring of Solarpanels.

Representatives from the Schenbergs would request to meet with the Corporation [Event]

    Fairfax Defense Solutions International

Fairfax has seen its business rise exponentially throughout the Devastation War, once it was just over a platoon in strength now it occupies enough territory to be considered a Corporate State. Despite the CEO Michael Gallagher’s discharge from the Emritian Military, the President of the Republics maintains a healthy business relationship with the CEO. Many within the Executive see Fairfax as a potential way to exert influence overseas without having to mobilise any of their own home forces, therefore business dealings are encouraged and certain officers within the Emritians will find themselves seeking employment at the Company once their service has ended.

+10,000 Bonus Starting Income, Investment from the Emritians

    Xi’ian Provinces

The Fujians eye their Colonies with envy and a lust to reassert direct rule, but still find themselves dogged down and unable to rise up and meet the challenge due to the nature of the competing factions within the once vast Empire. The Almnians had suffered greatly during the Devastation War with their brutal civil war and Kaiju attacks destroying much of what was once considered a great cultured nation. However they found themselves embraced in brotherly Republican friendship between them and the Emritians, leading to a massive plan to reconstruct the nation known as the “Edison Plan” named after the President for Life of the Republics. Much of this money had been used to rebuild the shattered infrastructure and build the gigantic wall that surrounds the nation now but the final installment of the plan is due this year.

Much of the inner workings and bureaucracy of the Alliance itself was made up from Nobles from Chryse, Government Officials from the Emritian Republics and various factional members from the Fujians. Kornograv now had the unenviable task of balancing all these factions within the bureaucracy of the organisation it was now at the head of.

  6. Devastation

    Background

The Great Ideological War and Before Devastation

The World of Aestival has been one of strife, war and bitter struggle between individuals, groups and empires for many millennia. Conflicts for land, resources and manpower have ever motivated the strong to prey upon the weak, nations rose and fell with the sands of time allowing for blocs of power and economics to form from the ashes of many conflicts. This was the status quo from generation to generation, fathers passing on their stories to their sons and so on, until the May 10th 1957 B.D what many see as the end of the Great Ideological War between the United Emritan Republics and the Fujian Federation. Said war began as a conflict between the ideals of individualistic freedom and capitalism and the strange mix between the ideals of fanatic eastern philosophy of collectivization and equality contradicted around a cultural Monarchy that has stood for centuries.

D-Day or “Devastation Day.” became infamous across every nation on the globe, the Emritian Republics deployed what came to be known as the Korolov Device against their enemy, a bomb that before or since has not been met in its destructive capabilities. Developed from the fuel that allowed for technological progression in the 19th Century B.D known as “Nephilite” that is refined into fuel. Once the Korolov Device was deployed, many thought it would lead to the Emritian Victory in the war, however it stirred something else to wake. Four hours after detonation ground zero of the blast was assailed by a creature of gargantuan proportion given the name “Kaiju” derived from the Fujian tongue and it attacked the Emritan and Fujian forces immediately requiring both sides to withdraw from ground zero of the Korolov Attack. From this day forward the calendar of all nations changed to the dates of “Before-Devastation” or B.D and “Post-Devastation” or P.D.

Devastation Day was merely the beginning of what became commonly referred to as the Devastation War, no Country be it a Superpower with the reach that was felt across the known world, or a minor state simply trying to weather the storm of the great powers. Kaiju began springing up from the vast oceans of Aestival, smashing their way inland and wrecking havoc among the peoples of the known world attracted to the residue left by Nephilite based technology leading them to attack power plants and other vital infrastructure leaving thousands dead and millions displaced and fleeing inland in a vain attempt to escape the Kaiju and their path of destruction and death. At first the response to the new Kaiju threat was divided, with each nation individually defending itself offering no help to neighbours or those in need, even for the Superpowers of the world it was leading to defeat after defeat.

This however was not to last, elements of the Chrysian Military lead themselves into a mass desertion from their nation lead by Prince Cornelius Draken forming the Order of the Drakengard and taking with them the finest of the Chrysian Technology namely the Icarus Suits, highly mobile single pilot mech suits that can be outfitted with a vast array of weaponry. This proved to be a turning point in the conflict, many countries seeing mass defections to this new independent Military order leading the vanguard against the Kaiju incursions throughout the known world. Victories began to snowball for a time, Prince Draken being both a competent Military leader but also an Icarus Suit Ace leading his own wing against Kaiju and their smaller counterparts. As the war raged on, newer innovations were being driven by the Order as after each battle the larger Kaiju kept growing in size and endurance, it was evident yet another type of weapon was needed.

    WRcDryt5iTEhmv72Ojo32-eQNi9_KU3bH5A5661MSXZg5qPBdqIx2HrqWMPttStJSz97bBcxN82X-9QsxWspOWb29PFmX6Oh1wrYW0mR3ulvPKYU8MEJb2SJBZnfCHj9b1t_-sFe

Through the mediation of Prince Draken the nations of the known world formed together to create the Alliance of Nations in order to create a unified front against the Kaiju and to drive them from the shores and back to the seas. The combined minds and engineering capabilities of the Alliance was able to create yet another weapon designed to be used against the Kaiju, this came to be known as the Atlas Suit, a titanic mech standing between 250-300 feet depending on the exact design pattern. Once this had been done the war was winding to a stop, while Kaiju populations hadn’t seemingly dwindled their attacks through to the mainland were lessening over time. The period of the Devastation war lasted from 0 P.D to 34 P.D with the Alliance of Nations officially stating the war had concluded.

    Post War and Reconstruction

The Current year is 40 P.D six years after the official conclusion of the Devastation War, in the time since the war ended there was much to rebuild and the Alliance of Nations managed to hold together for the time being, the Order of Draken is at present stands as the watchers for Kaiju activity and acting as peacekeepers maintaining garrisons in most nations as per the Alliance of Nations founding charter that gives the organisation oversight and acts as the enforcers of charter laws. The superpowers found themselves still in their relative positions of power, though now greatly weakened with the potential of the emerging great powers to surpass them in power, wealth and prestige. Following the official conclusion of the Devastation Wars many nations have begun to decommission Atlas Suits and other anti-Kaiju weaponry, while the Kaiju threat has significantly lessened it most certainly has not ended. But with the protection of the Drakengard the smaller nations are able to refocus on the reconstruction efforts.

The impact on society from the war was significant, wealth disparity and class divisions were heightened as a result of the war. Many civilians were relocated from rural regions or smaller urban zones to the cities, leading to a period of mass urbanisation effectively creating megacities, with most nations consisting of at least one megacity and several other smaller yet densely populated cities. The rural regions were cleared for mass agriculture that runs off of automation requiring few human workers to maintain, leading to mass unemployment for large swathes of the population in the world. National leaders are called upon by their people to find some form of resolution to this problem as to avert unrest, though at the same time appease the international business interests that contribute significant taxes, technology and resources both from the Devastation War and the Reconstruction period.

    The Three Superpowers

The United Emritian Republics: Out of the Three Superpowers that sit at the head of the Alliance of Nations, the Emritian Republics can be considered the only liberal democracy backed by a heavily market orientated economy. Being at ideological odds with the Fujian Federation both in the respect of the Fujians collectivist and monarchist sentiments and resenting the almost feudalistic nature of the United Principalities the Emritians consider themselves the only modern superpower in the world. While espousing its supposedly liberal and democratic ideals the legislative body of the Republic has become mired in lobbyist groups and general disorder which in turn has allowed the executive body to amass near tyrannical power. The Office of Supreme President of the Republics has been held by George Edison for thirty six years through an executive order known as the “Kaiju Emergency Order”, effectively becoming a dictator in all but name.

The Fujian Federation: The most unique out of the Three Superpowers of Aestival, the Fujians have historically been an isolationist people but in more recent generations opened itself up for trade and cultural exchange. Many Fujian philosophers came across the writings of Herbert Trent who wrote the book “A Critique on Markets”, adapting the philosophy to their own cultural belief system it sparked a movement known as “The Young Fujian Movement” lead by Zhang Wei, Zhang Cheng and Zhang Huang known as the three Zhangs. Successfully petitioning the then young Emperor of the Fujian Empire it led to modernisation and federalism throughout his empire but most importantly Fujian Syndicalism. Allowing local workers unions to administrate respective federal prefectures, however when this was tried in several Fujian Colonies they broke off largely influenced by the Zaibatsu which controlled them. To outsiders the mixture of Syndicalism and a Cultural Monarchy is a strange blend but thus far throughout the Devastation War the syncretic combination has not failed them so far.

The United Principalities of Chryse: Something of an anachronistic anomaly at least at first glance when looking at the Principalities from the outside, in reality Chryse is a mostly centralised state that is lead by a Grand Prince or Princess who is elected for life among his or her peers. Behind many of the advances in technology before the Devastation Wars and beholden to what some might consider to be outdated philosophical ideas in how to use said ideas. Despite this the Princes and various nobles of Chryse have been patrons of the sciences for centuries leading to the Chryse Institute of Technology creating various technologies such as the Nephilite Reactor, Icarus Suits and the Elysium Interfacing System. For many years exporting this technology to the other nations for their own benefit, this all changed during the Devastation War when a leading Prince of Chryse deserted the Military with a large portion of young officers and many soldiers along with the blueprints for many Chrysian technological secrets which he handed out to every nation in the war effort against the Kaiju. This forced Chryse into the war, while condemning the Prince and the other deserters they were and are powerless to do anything about it after joining the Alliance of Nations which officially sanctions the Order of Drakengard as a peacekeeping and charter enforcement organisation.

    Major Factions

The Order of Drakengard: Formed from the defectors from Chryse and later finding recruits from almost every nation due to the example it served by leading the vanguard against the Kaiju threat. Now directly funded through the Alliance of Nations it holds no stationary headquarters but instead uses a mobile Battle-Carrier to move the majority of its forces to hotspots as and when it's needed while maintaining small garrisons throughout most nations that include one or two Icarus Suit squadrons. Led by Prince Cornelius Draken, it remains highly independent even as the superpowers attempt to influence the inner workings of the organisation. Since the official end of the war the freedom it has been allowed by the many sovereign nations in the known world has begun to chafe against the authority of national leaders.

The Yashida Group: A Zaibatsu that held significant interest in a Fujian Colony before the Empire reformed into the Federation, it officially cut off ties from their former overlords six generations ago. Now led by its sixth generation head Shinzo Yashida it is a corporation with highly advanced technology and a lot of reach. The Yashida have always operated more like a Mafia family than a traditional Corporation, its Underbosses and Capos lead subsidiaries of the Company itself. It has gained its technological prowess from what it calls “Legitimate Salvage” through plundering through battlefields and taking any tech that is deemed salvageable and hiring the finest engineers and scientists from the Chrysian Institute of Technology. Being among the first to reverse engineer the Nephilite Reactor that powers Icarus and Atlas Suits among other weapons platforms.

    The Alliance of Nations

All nations in the known world of Aestival are members of the organisation known as the Alliance of Nations, a mediated defensive alliance between all states that formed during the Devastation Wars. As part of joining the alliance during the war all states agreed to certain rules such as the banning of the Korolov Device and any similar weapons, to only arm Atlas Suits with Anti-Kaiju weaponry to avoid its use in conventional warfare and agreement to station Drakengard Garrisons in their nation. Annual inspections of Nephilite Refining Facilities are undertaken by Drakengard Officials who report to the Security Council which every four  years is chaired by a non-Superpower within the Alliance who decide the course of the organisation for their term of office.

    Notable Universal Technologies

Nephilite Reactors: Powered by the resource known as Nephilite found around the world, it as a power source endures once it is given a core. Once given the core the reactor will power whatever its installed in for centuries with no real way to decommission them, this in turn has led to criminals and corporations salvaging many reactors for resale to avoid the high costs that come from freshly produced reactors. Used to power Battle Suits, Ships or simply used as a power plant. It is the only power source in the world known to be immune to electromagnetic pulses, making it favoured among the nations of Aestival.

Icarus Suits: Invented inside the United Principalities as a form of honourable combat, powered by a Nephilite Reactor these suits can be outfitted with an array of weaponry and some models and frames are highly customisable for their users. Typically regular models come with basic abilities such as flight, a main hand weapon, a melee weapon, however they can be outfitted with long range heavy weapons or be purely outfitted for melee should it be decided. While mass produced models are run of the mill, occasionally aces can join the field of battle in their own unique Icarus Suit Frames that are distinct from the typical ranks and usually are outfitted based around the personality of the pilot and their own combat skills. No matter what, all suits are integrated with the Elysium Interface System, meaning each pilot has to undergo invasive surgery to have cybernetics implanted up part of their spine reaching to the brain. Each machine has a form of AI that collects combat data and shares it with its pilot in real time, making even baseline suits somewhat tricky to handle and requiring significant training. For more advanced suits their AI will go even further, with some Ace Pilots opting to remove data limiters from their machines. Mechs are superior to Tanks.

Atlas Suits: Quickly invented and pushed out into service through the combined efforts and technological innovations from all nations within the Alliance, Atlas Suits are a marvel of modern engineering in fighting the Kaiju threat to humanity. A considerable investment for any nation to undertake it is powered by several Nephilite Reactors and requires Pilots at the peak of their physical and mental fitness, though not to the same extent as an Icarus Suit Ace Pilot. Outfitted with weapons that while is easy to turn on a Kaiju or perhaps even another Atlas suit, it is however quite ineffective against conventional targets with all its weapons designed to take on opponents of a similar size. Alliance regulations put specific rules on the weaponry allowed on an Atlas Suit, making it as difficult as possible to arm them for conventional war. While not requiring a pilot as skilled as one that could be considered an ace, it still has a lower pool of potential pilots than Icarus Suits. Making such a weapon sparing in use and only utilised when absolutely necessary.

Elysium Interface System: A somewhat controversial system designed from the United Principalities and their institute of technology, it is used in advanced mech suits to allow the pilot to have complete control of the machine they use, also giving them full spatial awareness while connected to their machines allowing for the right pilot to become almost an army in on themselves. The downside of such technology is the requirement for invasive surgery that gets increasingly more dangerous should the pilot in question wish for enhancements to their interfacing cybernetics. The basic surgery is simple and safe enough, which allows even the most basic Icarus Suit pilots spatial awareness, but it will set a limiter on what the pilot can do through capping data linking between the machine and human brain. The more advance removes all limiters and allows the pilot to tap into their full potential, the advanced surgery also slows the aging of the body by a significant margin once implanted as to ensure that a combat ace can serve for as long as possible, this is also to ensure the brain suffers as little degradation as possible. It does this through use of nano-machines that circulate around the body and further ensure the pilots brain operates at peak functionality once they are connected to their suit.

Naval Ships: One of the less complex technologies, naval vessels have developed throughout history and have been used for trade and war alike. Ships of the Post Devastation Era mostly deal with guided missile technology with the largest combat vessel being a battlecruiser. Carriers do exist but they are designed to hold Icarus Suits as opposed to aeroplanes.

Airships: Designed during the Devastation War, flying warships were made in order for a task force to reach a hot zone quickly, with freighter ships available to carry even an Atlas Suit to a combat zone if needed. Along with most forms of advanced technology they are powered and achieve their lift through use of Nephilite Reactors, removing the disadvantages purely naval ships have in regards to their limited ability to travel and their general vulnerability to Kaiju attack. These vessels can get very large, with the very largest of airships being purpose built super-carriers for mass deployment of Icarus Suits.

    Ace Pilots

Ace Pilots are unique individuals who are able to fit all the correct parameters required for advanced Elysium Cybernetics Surgery and can survive the operation. Many nations and groups of special interest take great strides to identify these individuals within their own borders as to increase the potential for Icarus Suit Ace’s as they can turn the tide of battle if utilised correctly. With an enhanced lifespan at least by natural standards an Icarus Pilots aging is slowed to a crawl, aging believed to only set in after 150 years of age, with a believed lifespan to reach 200 years old. While to some it may seem advanced Elysium Surgery is optimal, it is only compatible to people who meet specific biological standards.

All Ace Pilots start off with these Stats below that both represent their Icarus Suit makeup and their own personal attributes.

    Offense: 1

    Defense: 1

    Maneuverability: 1

    Speed: 1

For each Ace a player receives they can allocate 10 points and must choose a weapons specialisation for the pilot which are listed below.

Melee Specialist: Going near all in with Melee weapons with only minimal ranged weapons often only being short ranged vulcan guns or miniature smart missiles. Wishing to get up close and personal to their foes be it a Kaiju or Human.

Ranged Specialist: Wishing to keep their distance they invest heavily into powerful ranged weapons, with only a back up melee weapon that is only to be used as a last resort.

Balanced: Keeping a balanced arsenal can be more beneficial and allow the pilot versatility in how they operate. Specialising in neither means they’ll never be as good as a ranged or melee specialist, but can instead be vital backup for Ace’s specialised in either of those.

An Example of an Ace is below

    Name: Joshua Sena

Age: 23 (Received Elysium Surgery aged 18)

    Weapons Specialisation: Melee

    Stats: Offense 4, Defense 2, Maneuverability 4, Speed 4

Icarus Suit Name and Description: Joshua Pilots the custom Icarus Suit known as Wyvern, focusing heavily on offensive melee capabilities and a high speed and maneuverability rating so it may fall upon Kaiju big and small and retreat with ease. Though lackluster in its armour it could be potentially taken out of the fight with a single strike from a Kaiju and is vulnerable to melee attack at longer range. Utilising swords it keeps multiple backup blades should any break or otherwise be lost.

    Application

All applicants have 30 points to allocate across a range of attributes that will affect how your nation starts off, note that there is a maximum of 5 points into loyalty and a maximum of 10 points between size and economy. This is all explained in the rules Sheet below.

    Race

Asurai (Deviant), they are quite unlike regular humans being creatures of immense subtlety and secrecy, seeking to limit their interactions with the lesser peoples of the world as much as possible. Their manner of speech to those outsiders can be considered confusing with much of what they say being able to be interpreted in at least two possible ways, for example an offer for help may sound like a threat to those with untrained ears, while a death sentence may sound like mercy. Those who can see the truth in their words are welcomed and enjoyed as company, a sharp mind and a quick tongue is one of the best ways to earn favour with the forest dwellers. As a people they are capable of feats of great dexterity in both body and mind, as a result of longevity of their race allowing for each individual to hone their skills in an environment that many including themselves would  find challenging to live in. While having a complicated relationship with those outside the boundaries of the woods, the race itself has a natural affinity towards nature and will strive to protect it at all costs. Their traits can be summed up as being long lived, having an affinity towards nature and having a build quite adapted to the wild life they live. In terms of appearance they can be described as Elfen like, being slender and having pointed ears and being considered appealing to the eye.

    Military

    Unique Unit Types:

Talons of Talsyn: Unique flying Cavalry mounted upon giant hawks who act as mounted archers that can also perform devastating charges. Due to the nature and rarity of the mounts they are small in number per unit and have something of a limited availability. (Heavy Cavalry)

Knights of the Great Stag: Highly mobile and effective medium cavalry that excel in woodland cavalry moves and are decent on an open field. Mounted upon the finest of the Great Stags that inhabit the forests. (Medium Cavalry)

Wardancers of the Trickster: Incredibly skilled warriors who move in such a way it is interpreted more of a dance than anything else. Excellent in maneuvering through a battlefield and getting past formations and breaking them apart. The downside to their dexterity is a vulnerability which can lead to many casualties, however the Wardancers strive for nothing more but to dance with the Trickster God in the afterlife, while honouring the Great Stag and the Lady through their service to the Trickster who does their bidding. (Light Infantry)

Within the Great Olk Wood at last the Oak of Eternity was once more beginning to bloom and the Season of Discontent had finally come to a close, allowing a return to relative normality within the isolated forest society. As if creatures finally coming out of hibernation their society would begin to resume productivity, the merchants began peddling their wares, the warriors began retraining in their art of combat. In the far flung territories of the Kingdom the Wardancers would find and trap those who would be found deep within their territory who stumbled in by accident, only letting them live should they pass a challenge set before them by these Tricksters. The Asurai are not well known by outsiders, if at all due to this reclusive nature but this would change as the Priesthood had read the omens, it was time for the Kingdom to expand and take ahold of the Forest and protect it from all those whom would do harm to it, giving blood to nourish the Oak of Eternity.

Nation Name: Great Kingdom of the Glade, Kingdom of Talsyn, The Deepwood

        Government Type: Monarchy

        Magic Type: Essence

Leader: Aaraloth, King of the Glade, Lord of Forests and Grasslands, Protector of the Oak, Master of Talsyn, Herald of the Great Stag

        Culture:

Talsyn itself is a culture founded upon upholding and respecting nature, becoming part of nature but also part of the civilized world creating a blend and balance between that which is wild and that which is civilization. As such strict laws are put in place that ensure this delicate balance is kept by the citizens of the Kingdom, this balance governs much of the cultural, religious and political lives of the citizens of the Glade. Outsiders are generally not welcome within the Kingdoms borders, or even the vast forests that lay outside of them. Those who trespass are in turn sacrificed to the Oak of Eternity that lay at the centre of the Kingdom, their blood now nourishing the tree so that it may continue to thrive throughout the ages.

The Nations citizenry are split up into a caste system that denotes those who work the fields, serve as artisans and those who fight. It is not set in stone as movement between the Castes is frequent though requiring a special dispensation from the Tribal Assembly. It is common for those born into the farmer caste to join the Military and later retire back into becoming a farmer once their time is served. Artisans find themselves more solitary in their trade, passing down teachings from father to son remaining within the cities and towns and not seeking the military adventure. There are those that remain permanently within the Military caste as fighting families who dedicate themselves solely to raising warriors. The Caste System will be detailed below

Path of the Chieftain: This pathway is exclusive to those born into what could be considered as the Nobility and leaders of the Kingdom. Its namesake is derived from the original tribal confederation that made up much of the Kingdom in the days of yore.

Path of the Warrior and Mentor: This is the permanent Military Caste of the Kingdom, dedicated solely to raising warriors, chronicling the victories and defeats of Talsyn and maintaining a good supply of dedicated warriors who make up the specialist cavalry within the Kingdom. As they reach the age at which they can no longer fight at their prime they begin to retire to the Priesthood, becoming the religious leaders of the faith. Maintaining healthy sacrifices to appease the woodland spirits and their gods.

Path of the Lifegiver and Protector: This Caste is made up of those who are part of the farmer caste tending to the crops and such to ensure that the supply of food to the people of Talsyn is maintained, many born into this caste seek adventure in their youth and will join up with the Army to meet this wanderlust until satisfied and will be released back to their farmsteads within the deepwood.

Path of the Craftsman and Merchant: A self explanatory task made up of the artisans, craftsman, traders and other professions not covered in the other two Castes. Performing a vital if not somewhat overlooked role within the Kingdom, sometimes those from this Caste may attempt Military adventure or to buy some land, but mostly fathers prefer passing their trades down to their children.

Harkening back to the days of yore when the people of Talsyn were fully nomadic, the Military culture is focused on highly mobile mounted warfare. Though the people of the Tribes never used horses, instead having bonded with large Elken mounts and raised them to become their forest companions, leading the Elder Priests to make it against the law for one to hunt or consume any species of deer, holding them sacred beyond measure. If an outsider is caught hunting deer within or without the territories under their control, they are sought out and sacrificed to the Great Stag.

The Religion of the Asurai, that which governs much of the Kingdom of Talsyn is a pantheon dominated by the Diarchy of the Great Stag and The Oaken Lady. The former being the God that bonded the race of Giant Elk with the people, allowing them to join his Great Herd in the afterlife, the Oaken Lady providing the Oak of Eternity that which blesses Talsyn with fertility and growth, allowing the Kingdom to flourish and thrive throughout the ages.

    Race:

    History:

The History of the Asurai is largely unknown even to themselves, the Priesthood only being able to recount several centuries of their history and covering the rest in mythology that is universally accepted by the people as fact. According to their myth they are a people displaced from their original homeland, but through the guidance of the Great Stag and the Oaken Lady they migrated across the continent to eventually find themselves in a new homeland within the Great Olk Wood. Finding a tree that they call the Oak of Eternity and centring their new nation around it. In recent history the Asurai have kept to themselves, sometimes accepting trade from outsiders but thus far only letting in individual merchants at a time and they must find a way to earn their passage.

    Groups or places of interest:

The Oak of Eternity: A gargantuan tree that makes up the centre of the Capital within the Kingdom. As one would climb up the spiral staircase of the Oak they would eventually find the throne room of the King. It acts as the seat of Government and also the main shrine towards the Oaken Lady, one of the two main gods of the Asurai. Underneath the tree there is the pit of bones, where those who have trespassed against the Oaken lady are taken and sacrificed, their remains taken in by the Oak and used as nourishment.

Circle of the Great Stag: The main shrine dedicated to the second major deity of the Asurai Pantheon, located just outside the Capital and attracts both Asurai and Great Elk alike to pay homage to their deity. Sacrifices are made simply in the centre, the victims have their hearts offered to the Great Stag.

The Tribal Assembly: Where the leaders of the Tribes, Castes and other organisations meet and discuss their grievances and concerns.

Priesthood of the Stag and the Lady: The main priesthood of the Kingdom, made up of the ex-warriors of the Military that have survived through their service.

    Nat Idea:

Deepwood Vines: Within the deep forests of the Olk the Asurai are able to grow specialty wine that is sought after by merchants throughout the world, many risking the wroth or ritual sacrifice rumoured to occur in the realm.

-Allows Building “Woodland Vineyard”, 1 per food node, providing unique resource Asurai Wine with the effect of unbreakable warriors but lowered organisation and 2k per Vineyard.-

-Allows Building “Vinter Barrelling House”, 1 Per City, increases each Vineyard Production to 2 Resources and offers a 25% increase in Vineyard Revenues.-

    Unique Units (3):

9. Lmao, just reading some of this. Pro Gun guys, you’re really not gonna win over people from the elves when you keep personally attacking a playerbase despite anonymous voting and clear signals that the people who don’t want guns come from every playerbase and vice versa. Also magic is gimped, stop pretending it’s powerful and that guns is some kind of counter when a light breeze can stop a caster from using magic.

  10. Just now, Arundlt said:

Here is my thing, despite magic itself being incredibly boring and useless, to the point where people aren’t even scared or amazed by it anymore in roleplay, humans can’t even learn it properly. Humans live incredibly short lives, and while getting T5 in any magic takes around 20+ years, it will leave the user with a physically weak body. Humans legit are stuck to only doing slice of life roleplay. There is zero inventing that we can do without hitting a techlock, and opening up flintlocks is the only viable option for us to move forward. This isn’t even a debate at this point, it should be straight facts that someone has re-discovered the uses of gunpowder if we legit just raided a fort with grenades and explosive powder in it. Ridiculous.

Thank you for engaging your brain, full disclosure that most non-humans do not learn magic and fewer still only learn combat magic. So framing the debate of “Well the non-human communities have this magic” when its hardly comparable to the destructive force of firearms. However I am as prior mentioned open to the debate should there be proper systems put in place to limit or not allow insta one shot kills that would be powergaming.

  11. Just now, argonian said:

if we’re speaking mechanically, crossbows already allow pre-load

if we’re speaking in CRP, you just ban pre-loading as powergaming the same way we banned pre-loading for crossbows waaaay back in 2012

people just want muskets and stuff for flavour. mechanically they should be represented as crossbows and therefore function the same as them. in CRP they should be given strict rules to make them basically the same as crossbows are in CRP right now. then they can co-exist with swords and other weapons the same way they do in world of warcraft and warhammer.

Not speaking mechanically because lets face it most mechanical combat on this server is dead and its just gonna continue to die due to the server instability. The only thing that matters in this debate is CRP, since that is basically the only way conflict will occur from now on. I already stated my position of just put some rules and buff magic a bit because despite your comment about “Sole Elven Mage”, as far as I can see Magic is absolutely gimped, but at the same time I would like the standard of magic to be raised to make magic magical.

  12. I voted no but mines more of a contingency based no, if guns were added presumably it would lead to people running around with pre-loaded firearms and insta-shotting people. Regardless of anything, buff magic if firearms are added because right now magic is basically **** and useless due to the excessive cucking of the LT to the very people crying out for the tech lock to be removed but also wishing for magic to be basically useless. So my position is, you add guns, buff magic to be useful in combat without having to wait a ******* year to charge a spell.

(I presently do not have or play any characters with magic, I just think Magic should be worth a damn)

In the City of Armathwaite the city lights would be dim as the heavy industrial factories worked into the night, creating new weapons of war, smoke billowing out of the chimneys. Vernon Smith would be strolling down the street, people tipping their hat to him as he passes during the seasonably unusually warm. Vernon would retrieve his pocket watch from his waistcoat pocket seeing the time, letting out a sigh he was running late and would heighten his pace. Eventually reaching the family public house ‘The Dark Pearl’, with the inside being bustling he would head to the business booth to see the patriarch of the family John.

“Brother, Rojan race results came in, seems Flash won.” the younger Vernon would say to John “How do the books look? We get a good return on the bets?” the patriarch would respond “Good results all around, imagine the Commission and the Oxlease Firm are going to be none too pleased we’re stepping in on their territory. They’ve always kept Gambling as their thing, could mean we get a visit from a couple of Randgritz Goons or Oxlease Thugs.” Vernon explains “Never mind  that little brother, the Randgritz bunch are more concerned with pretending to be nobles and industrialists, they went soft. As for Oxlease they’re just soft in the head.”

Vernon would nod before withdrawing several rolls of Cumberlandic Guinea’s in note form and leaving them on the table for his brother. He quietly thought to himself that there was a storm coming, his brother seemingly baiting the other large syndicates to go to war. If the Smith Family were going to win they were going to need more friends.

The much promised comprehensive land reform is announced to begin this year. After the Great War the Crown Estate inherited and absorbed much of the fertile farmland in Cumberland due to the fact their owners and families all died out during the great war. Many of these estates and farms were vast in their size with them only being given upkeep in order to keep the land fertile over the years since the end of the great war. However due to the sheer size of these leftover farms and estates it has left the Crown Estate ballooned and incredibly difficult to manage and impossible to fully staff. With poverty rising in the Grand Principality it has been a long desired focus to renovate many tenant farms and estates and give education to poorer families in order to revitalise the agricultural sector in order to see a large annual return year on year through exports. The idea is through educating the poor how to manage the farms and hire on farmhands it can lower unemployment, the program also includes the pathway to purchase the land off the Crown Estate after several years of proven profit and forbids the sale of land to those already of significant wealth to prevent monopolies. The ultimate goal is to cement Cumberland as the breadbasket of the world. (Mod 100,000)

    Roleplay:

The Grand Principality had breathed a sigh of relief having a massive  government intervention to save the shipyards and the shipbuilding industry after the attack at the end of 1891, taking a year to fully complete and fix the Royal Cumberland Shipyards further security measures have been added to attempt to ensure that it never happens again and further plans to improve the air defences of the nation put on the table by Lieutenant General Harold Simmerson who is now being considered the defensive of the two high ranking Cumberland Generals. However the Navy for the time being takes the majority of Military funding citing the requirement to have a larger navy and scale back on foreign sales which is likely what drew the terror attacks. At the Grand Assembly at the beginning of the year the Admiralty put it to the Grand Prince that half of Cumberlands Shipyard Capacity should be reserved for the Navy for a period of five to ten years to ensure Cumberlands Navy can get to full strength within that time frame, citing the plans for the first domestic Dreadnoughts to be laid down in the following year. Drawing support from the commoners and nobles it is agreed upon to focus on naval expansion in the Military budget.

The Industrialists put forward the continued need to put nearly half of the budget towards expanding the civilian economy and once more find themselves met with success as more money equates to more defense spending, more products and general improvements for all stratas of society. Though the Communists advocate collective ownership it is sharply ignored by the rest assembled, though they are allowed to speak their piece concerning their political beliefs though they are met with cries from others gathered about Gwangnan Gas attacks and how Communists would bring doom upon everyone, the more religious of those gathered even cite that the Communists opposing Divine Rule will lead to famine and collective desitution. Though the Grand Prince calls for it to quieten down as to avoid bloodshed in what is considered a sacred Cumberlandic tradition of the Grand Assembly.

    Roleplay:

Cumberland had been shocked to its very core, an attack of pure terror against civilian shipbuilders. The Government itself suspects foreign actors, an attack such as this would not be carried out by Cumberlanders on their own people regardless of their political affiliation. The Grand Prince attempts to call the Country together in the face of this attack and pledges to investigate and punish those involved once they have been brought to light. To this effort it is instructed from the Throne for the Ministry of Public Safety and Security to be established to conduct a thorough investigation but also to keep tabs on domestic subversives within Cumberlands borders, though the latter is not made public. The attack itself marks the darkest day for Cumberland since the horrors of the Great War, most of the Navy is recalled to the Home Territories in order to prevent any further attacks on Cumberland Shipyards, a notable exception to this are Colonial Freighters and the HMS Prince Albert, the Randgritz Class Battlecruiser near the New World.

Finances are raised and coincidently stretched thin, Shipyards had been a great boon to the Grand Principality and its annual budget. The Klendari had effectively bailed out the Grand Prince by strengthening trade ties and buying up much of the stockpiled resources and production slots in the remaining Military Industry of Cumberland. The bonds between the Government and the Klendari were becoming more and more positive due to this, with the money earned from the new deals the Cumberland Budget is strengthened and are able to rebuild the shipyards, expand the civilian economy and grow the overseas Colonies along with the other domestic reforms that are so desperately needed to increase public security and mourn the fallen shipbuilders. The Colony in the New World in the East is dubbed as the “Prince Albert Islands” with the first Colony being fully upgraded to be dubbed as “Port Albert” in honour of the son and heir of Prince Maximillian and the Battlecruiser that escorted the venture.

    Roleplay:

The Year for the political establishment was one of relative calm, the Government focused almost purely on economic growth, though allowing Military spending to surpass merely the upkeep required to maintain the Military. Tanks are built for the Army and a brand new Randgritz is laid down among many other foreign vessels that are being built by the industrious shipbuilders of the nation.

Across the Ocean the explorers of Cumberland come across another continent, yet another apparent new world to be discovered and established contact with the nations of this land. It is ordered to establish outposts in this land to eventually become colonies of a new overseas Empire, a small start but a hopeful one at that.

    Roleplay:

Tensions had boiled over in the last year or so, but seemingly calmed after the initial backlash against the Communists, the Fascists and Nationalist spurred on by anger from the domestic Communist party subverting the national interests of Cumberland perceiving the entire nation being wronged by these so called “Internationalists.”. The ensuing riots between Communists and the Fascists left large swathes of the Capital of Randgritz destroyed and burned, leaving many homeless, destitute and worse off than before. The Grand Prince himself addresses the nation in shock and sorrow, pledging to ensure justice is had for all those who lost their homes and loved ones, pledging to go down to the destroyed part of his Capital each day until the damage is repaired.

The Royal Cumberland Ship Building Co. opens itself up for foreign contracts and in turn receives a number of contracts filling the Royal Coffers beginning to leave a taste in the treasury department for foreign exports of a more military nature due to the extreme profits taken. Both the Admiralty and Army approve of the action at least for the time being as production capacity is set to increase further for both arms of the Military though there are some disgruntled voices at the notion of arming foreign nations through the Royal Cumberland Ship Building Company. Though with the Vitra shortages the Navy is currently facing these voices are quiet for now as producing more ships is not impossible until more Vitramite Mines and Vitraium Refineries are constructed.

An attempt at a Colonial Venture is now one of the priorities of the foreign office to win back some of the lost prestige in recent years, rather than join in on the regional conflicts it now seeks to expand its horizons to overseas ventures. Leaving behind much of the troubles of  the Old World and seeking to extract the wealth of the New World.

Massive Fortifications upon the border with the CSAC would be constructed dubbed “The Simmerson Line” named for currently serving Reserve Army Commander Lieutenant General Harold Simmerson. All the remaining Heavy Industry is used to supplement the creation of Static Artillery placement, the building of bunkers, reinforced walls and barriers across the river border with the CSAC. (30,000 and 7AP).

The Grand Prince engages into charitable work after the Great Riot of 1889, going down to the ruined sections of the City himself to give out food, blankets and direct the rebuilding operations. Cautiously the Army would keep Major-General Pryce and an honour guard of Veteran Infantry to keep him protected while he engages in Charity. (12,000).

A Colonial Venture is sent underway, consisting of 5 Freighters filled with food and refined Vitraium to supply the journey and escorted by a single Battlecruiser the HMS Prince Albert. They are sent to explore parts of the North East, seeing as lands were found almost directly East of Cumberland, it is speculated there might be lands in the North East. The expedition would split off in order to explore in a group of three. https://i.gyazo.com/b25b267154babbd692d104d4b98aeb83.png (Mod)

After witnessing the Alliance in the West, the Grand Prince is determined to achieve similar success in the East. Calling on the Nations of Estfeld, Grenheim, the Gallian Trade League and the Archduchy of Andros-Bellica to a conference to discuss the potentials of alliance. (Mod)

    Roleplay:

The Year had proven to be a disaster for the Grand Prince moving into blunder after blunder though largely down to the advice of his Council of Ministers it looked bad for the Prince in general. However they had managed to secure the CEF from the encirclement and are able to bolster their domestic forces for the year and have the eyes of the Communists be averted from the Principality. To this effect both Winston Townsend and Lancelot Stern come up with a new strategy to limit the damages of the year and the gains made by the Communists, Winston Townsend begins a mass propaganda campaign using the arms of the Military to do so, while the Chancellor would enact internal economic reforms to begin seeing the class divide within Cumberland begin to shrink and allow for social movement.

The Army get the entire expansion budget in the Military for the year due to the pressing needs to have an army that can defend the crossing between Cumberland and The CSAC, tanks are produced to this effect learning from the examples set during the Civil War. It is hoped by recruiting as many regulars as possible that any uprising from the CCP would be an impossibility at least that was the hope of the Army and Navy. New defensive plans are drawn up for a full defensive line and potential fallback lines within Cumberland in the event of a Communist uprising and potential CSAC intervention.

Propaganda would be spread by the Ministry of Information at the behest of Winston Townsend promoting Nationalism, Faith and Monarchism as opposed to Communism. This is an attempt to turn around the last year of humiliation and paint it in a different light as foreign influence as opposed to domestic incompetence. (14,000) (Mod)

Chancellor Lancelot would implement reforms within the Country itself in order to liberalise the economy and allow the share of wealth to attempt to stabilise across class barriers through the use of more free market concepts. The main goal of these reforms are to seek the ability to increase meritocracy and social movement. (20,000) (Mod)

Highlighting the expansion of the Principality and ensuring all records of the Southern Expedition are destroyed or altered, Commodore Pryce receiving an official transfer from the Royal Navy to Carnelia and ensuring his brother doesn’t find out the true reasons his brother now serves on another continent, at least for the time being.

The Royal Army of Cumberland is mobilised as the Communists are found out in a plot to arm international brigades and are encircled completely, Lieutenant General Harold Simmerson is deployed to put the Communist Party of Cumberland down once and for all as it was generally believed by the Government that the Army had caught them by chance all gathered in one place. Now was the time to cut the head off the snake as it were, though some wish it were Major-General Pryce leading as he was the most experienced leader in the Army. The Navy would be deployed to give assistance to the Army in this matter, Lennox in command once again due to his now more prestigious reputation with the Government.

The Navy had sustained substantial losses in the year, but manages to secure funding for expansion and replenishment, seeking more modern and faster capital ships that are able to expand Cumberlands influence through the Navies sheer power. Two of the new Randgritz Class Battlecruisers are specifically ordered, the first HMS Randgritz becoming the titular “Pride of the Fleet”.  The Army is not ignored either by the Chancellor, funding the first Armoured Brigade to be organised allowing the Royal Army to begin modernising at a rapid pace, wishing for the nation to be considered first rate within the next few years. The Chancellor also organises a general improvement to the industrial capabilities of the Principality, seeking the ability to heighten the capacity to arm both the Navy and the Army with both branches of the Grand Prince’s Armed Forces being given significant funding in regards to industrial facilities.

    Meanwhile in the Palace...

“What? All of it?” Grand Prince Maximillian asks

“All of it.” responds Lancelot, Chancellor of Cumberland

    “The whole Squadron?” Maximillian inquires

“The whole Squadron.” confirms the Chancellor

“Including the Flagship?!” Maximillian raises his voice

“Including the Flagship, including the Commodore” once more the Chancellor confirms to his Monarch

“Those little Red Men....” he trails off “Don’t wait upon formalities do they? Well we’ll have to reinforce our coast and keep the rest of the Fleet around our territory then, if those savages so brazenly attack our vessels.”

“My thoughts exactly Your Highness, we’ve recalled our squadrons across from the regular patrol routes to keep them based in the skies of our Principality. I have also taken the liberty of ordering a general expansion and rearmament of both the Fleet and the Ground Forces, along with expanding our industrial capacity.” Lancelot explains

“Yes, yes but what are we to do about this slight? Why did they attack our vessels is most important, we get their merchants on our shores and vice versa!” the Prince inquires.

“They are savages, they will attack you one day, trade with you the next, do not ponder on it too much Your Highness, now moving ...” the Chancellor begins to move on with the other issues of the day.
