  1. (( @ Golden_Richards: I agree, we may be able to do business together. If you have a specific proposal or would like to chat about something, feel free to PM me or contact me in-game. @James2K: To make the note at the top of the OP, I used Photoshop. I don't consider myself as having considerable talents in the program so I don't feel comfortable offering my services as a graphical designer I don't like to post on an advertisement without good reason, so here is a screenshot of my latest work in LoTC! ))

  3. ((Letter #1 Circa, Snows Maiden 1316)) Dear Nicholas, I have received your last letter and am delighted to hear of the success you have found in Norodrun. It would appear your appetite in Father's old volumes on architecture were well-founded, and your years as manager of our estate have served you well. You honor our family with your appointment as Lord Architect and renew your eldest brother Murwyn's faith in your ability. He now forgives you for leaving so abruptly as you did those few years ago, and renews your claim to as an heir to our family name. Furthermore, I am actively persuading him, as you so . . . aggressively taught me, to write his own letters to you, but he is much like Father was, so do not expect too much. Now, when you first sent word that you had been hired as an architect, and I will be honest with you brother, I was shocked: as you had no professional experience beyond that of the old books. It would appear I was wrong to have underestimated you yet again. Please, continue to bring honor and glory to us all, and should you continue to impress, I will concede you have done more than my mercenary career ever could have to increase the standing of the proud Fandon House. For the Glory of Kusalom. signed, Ivestian Simel Fandon ((What is to be a series of letters written to Nicholas Fandon from his family, written to expand on previous events that have shaped the character into what he is today in Aegis.))
  4. ((Now for my portfolio, and a bit of the OOC stuff Having played Minecraft for a year now, I'd like to consider myself a good architect. 5. Thank you for the swift response and nice compliment, I look forward to playing on this good-looking server.
  6. Out-Of-Character: -Minecraft Account Name: LordFandon -How old are you?: 19 -Time-Zone/Country of Residence: (EST)(GMT -4:00)/ United States -Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Whether or not I have a firm grasp of the English language is a question I seem to be asking myself quite frequently as college classes resume, and assignments pile-up. Although, people tell me I'm a good writer, so I'd have to reply, 'yes'. -Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I work in a deli, and when you work in a deli you meet interesting people. Furthermore, you may also find those interesting people yelling at you for entirely unprincipled and miniscule 'reasons', so you learn self control and creative and healthy ways to manage stress. RP- while a laughable concept to some, has been one of my cherished escapes, and provides me with a much needed outlet to let flourish my creative mind. -How much time could you be on the server weekly?: While entirely dependent on my experiences within the game, work schedule, and whether or not an assignment is due, I could very well play on the server 20 hours a week. -How long have you played minecraft?: Almost a year now. (October 2010) -What do you know about roleplaying? How long have you been doing it? What kind?: I'd like to believe that everyone participates in, and discovers RP in their own way, and at their own pace. If you can recall your childhood and stick-fighting with friends, then you've inadvertently been a participant in Live-Action RolePlay: you can probably recall the fun you had with close friends, battling imaginary enemies, or dueling each other just cause'. Unfortunately, somewhere down the line we put a label on the make-believe we're playing: it is not long after that, imagining you're someone or something else becomes 'childish' and to some looses its attraction. However, what I know about roleplaying, is that it takes not only a creative mind, but an open mind to practice, I know that there is no wrong way to roleplay if your heart is willing to accept the process, and I know how much fun there is to be had! . . . Enough of my musings. Experience: I have participated in some form of RP-pastime all my life. Paper games of my own design A D&D based game and universe created with friends. Host of countless WarCraft III: Custom RP games Member of LARP group Dagorhir and Co-founder of The Dead Marshes Chapter -What do you expect this server will be like?: When I first stumbled on Minecraft, a flash of . . . insight came over me, and I realized that this game, with its tawdry graphical quality and minimalist concept could provide a great and accessible sandbox: one I've been looking for since I discovered computer gaming. I hope that this server will be everything it promises and more, and to break into metaphor: I hope I can make new friends on this crisp, clean, and pristine sheet of paper and fill it with the content of our creativity. -What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Age of Mining (AoM) The Age of Mining, is no more- this truth I have grown to accept over the last couple of months. Disagreement broke down into vicious argument, which further degraded into outright hostility: the sinister specter of grief. Having earned the respect of the community after months of good fun, I became a moderator of the website, and when it all came crashing down, I stood by our leader as the ship sunk around us. All I can say now, is that I've made good friends- and AoM no longer exists as the long-standing, and admirable server it once was. Please, if you get a chance, view some of the youtube content for Age of Mining. I always consider it a treat to admire the content others have painstakingly created. -Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules? What about the lore?: Yes, having read the rules, I understand them. In fact, I joyfully note the similarities between my old server and this one. I sat down and read the lore, and upon first reflection I'm very satisfied with the mix of biblical and historical style with which it is written and read: It's reminiscent of my own Historian alter-ego's writings for the D&D universe I mentioned previously. Also, the way in which each race is envisioned and fleshed out is, in my experience, completely unique to a Minecraft server. Though having not explored in-game content yet, I hope the races we know and love, and that are described in lore, are acted-out by the community as the lore-writers intended. That said, the space that has been left for the community to create their own stories is very important, and to a prospective player: much appreciated. The possible plot-device created, (as the host of Aenguls and Daemons mention they may return) opens things up to divine intervention, and I can't help but respect a legitimate In-Character reason for an Admin to retain control of their property, especially give the open-world nature of LoC. -Name the 4 races on this server: Human, Dwarf, Elf, Orc -How did you hear about us?: I was referred by a friend. -Did you vote?: Yes, on all three tabs. -What was your favourite Law?: This should make the game far more interesting and immerse: "You must play in character as this is an RP server." -What was your least favourite Law?: "Theft is permitted in moderate amounts" leaves far too much open to interpretation, because such a loose description can be adapted to fit one's own purposes. I understand that Player-Kingdoms may have different restrictions and punishments, but clarification on the rule would be appreciated. -What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name? LordFandon In-Character: -Character Name: Nicholas Agalor Fandon -What is your Race?: Human -Lordofthecraft.net/forum forum account: LordFandon -Biography: "Minor nobility" . . . They would dare to degrade his family with such an ignoble concept. . . The House of Fandon, would like to paint itself as patriarchal from the earliest vestiges of civilization, and nearly immovable as a faucet of the proud Kingdom of Oren and nigh . . . that of Humanity itself! The reality is a stark contrast to the palpable madness of the family's patriarch who spawned the fictitious stories of steel-clad Fandons, ancient in their wisdom and battle-prowess fighting for God and King against the enemies of the realm. No, no- the reality is that of a moderately wealthy family living for generations on their moderately well-appointed estate, in their moderately fertile lands, in their ancestral homeland of Oren. It was the senile and fantastic fabrications of the elderly Ulvren Fandon that all Fandon's would like to believe- and are hell-bent on living up to. It is this lust for power, recognition, and greed that drives every Fandon to make their truth the truth. Born of this stock, and being the third-eldest son, Nicholas Fandon was taught the administrative duties performed by a Lord, and the combat prowess expected of a man-at-arms. Meanwhile, he watched his elder brothers Murwyn and Ivestian complete the same teachings and take up the cause of their family. In those days, many years ago the second eldest brother Ivestian took up a career as a mercenary captain: relying more on his reputation as a Fandon and the perceived prowess that came with it, rather than genuine skill. Young Nicholas, age 17 at this time, saw the futility of his brother's actions, but knowing his place as the younger, and clinging to the hope that his sibling may succeed, stayed silent. Understandably, Ivestian gained only a meager fortune of minas, in contrast with numerous scars both physical and emotional. Nicholas, having been blessed with great wisdom uncharacteristic of his family, guided his brother upon his return, preventing him in his wounded mental state from succumbing to vice, and taking pity on Ivestian, dutifully protected his brother against the insults and accusations of mediocrity that spewed from his relatives. Murwyn, inheriting from their father Uriel the sum of all Fandonian wealth, sought through diplomatic relations and trade enterprise the fame and fortune he richly deserved. Again, relying only on the myth of success in lieu of skill, Murwyn achieved only moderate gains and little renown. Nicholas would succeed where his family had failed. His truth . . . would become the truth. -Character Age: 28 -Character Appearance: Young and well-maintained- more the qualities of high quality shrubbery than a man of noble birth, but words apt to describe the youngest son of Uriel Fandon. His features are soft, unshaped by age or experience, only his proud beak-like 'Fandonian nose' betrays his identity . . . among those who take note of such things. Brown hair in tandem with an even deeper shade of brown iris would seem to paint the picture of a common man cut from uncommon cloth, and his lean and only mildly muscular build points down the path of a scholar, rather than a noble warrior. -Character Personality: Calm and collected for his entire life. Nicholas is patient: he knows when it is prudent to speak, and when it is better to listen. He knows when to pay homage, and when to provide insult and criticism. Nicholas is honorable: understanding that to have loyalty, one must provide it in kind- and that fealty is a virtue seldom seen in these dark times, but one that may one day lead Aegis away from the brink of destruction. Above all things however Nicholas Fandon is . . . frighteningly ambitious. Perhaps everything he has done and everything he is, is simply a calculation to further the glory of his family? -Your ambitions: To become a leader of nations. To be revered as a great captain of men. To be respected as a wealthy entrepreneur and trader. To make his truth the truth. -Can your character read or write?: Voraciously! Having only books and managerial tasks to satiate his ambitions before his opportunity to prove himself as a member of the family, Nicholas Fandon has contributed greatly to the family's library- and read every volume in the collection. War, trade, administration, history, musical composition: he has enjoyed a plethora of subject matter accompanied by many a glass of chilled tea. -Can your character mine?: Mining is the work of a serf, or peasant, and is unfit activity for a leader of men. However the logistics of a mine, and the proper procedure with which to run it are a subject of interest to the young man. That said, he can put pick to earth like any man should his life or fortunes depend on it. -Are you a capable builder? Again, stacking stone upon stone is a task best suited to the laborer. Nicholas instead focuses on the planning and logistics of grand structures and the principals of foundations and supports rather than the practical knowledge to build. Just as the architect does not hew the rock or place the stone, nor fell the tree or nail the beam. -Can you wield a sword?: Quite capably! His years of compulsory training built his skill, yet the tragic experiences of his brother Ivestian tempered their application. The sword is an option to be used only when the situation calls for such action. However, a leader of men must not only be able to defend himself, but to overtake his enemies and smite them with sharpened steel. -Enjoy Farming?: Enjoy? No. Understand and appreciate are more suitable. Years of managing estates cultivate a fondness for that which springs from the earth; and the potential profit make the experience all the more alluring. However, a noble does not distract himself in the acts of planting, weeding, and harvesting. That is to say, unless it is his private garden where he may enjoy the activity without fear of scrutiny or clear goal to meet. -Does your character have any special skills?:] Empathy: "the intellectual identification with or vicarious experiencing of the feelings, thoughts, or attitudes of another." This finely honed skill has served him well in the past, Nicholas plans to make good use of it as he moves forward. -A screenshot of your skin: My link The pendent on the left is that of Landoria- a mythical nation from a faraway land. ((homage to my old server.)) The pendent on the right is the symbol of all Fandon's, and the idealized Empire of Kusalom all seek to achieve. Furthermore, propagandizing their children is common, and an image like the below would frequently be used to create the grand idea of 'Kusalom.' -Other Information: ((This is a new character that I hope to enjoy playing!))
