Little late to this thread, but I’ve been on the server going on 8 years so I think I can give a little bit of good feedback (please feel free to disagree). I see a lot of players commenting on nostalgia and I am guilty of talking down about the server because of my nostalgia. I didn’t play as often as I liked through college and I haven’t been on in a few weeks because of my IRL commitments, but the last few months I really enjoyed. I didn’t enjoy them because of any content the staff did but what the players around me did. Occasionally there was drama but that always ended up resolving itself. I think the biggest issue with the server is player entitlement. It is a role play minecraft server and a community not an RPG like skyrim, fallout, Wow, etc. The people who complain about the server being boring are usually just players who aren’t putting in effort into talking to other players (the ones just sprint jumping in circles) go out and make an effort to rp with new players. It seems a fair amount of players get locked into cliques and don’t try and reach out and rp with other players because of some OOC drama or are just shy to go up to another player and say hello. It’s a community issue.

To tie this into the nostalgia, when I first started playing in aegis I was much younger and felt way less entitled in terms of what a good game was and what role play should be like. I think the key to being a better community is to not let yourself take everything so seriously in game. In earlier maps we didn’t have things like the Event team, or Lore team. Players had a lot of freedom with what they did and because the server was newer cliques weren’t as prominent. But I doubt we can truly get back to that state of game play today because the server just doesn’t have the numbers anymore. I remember having to donate to the server just to get on because VIP players didn’t have to wait in a queue when 500 players were online. 

I think we were on the right path recently in my perspective, many of the new players have stepped up and brought many new perspectives to the server. I found it way less toxic recently than it was around 3.0-4.0. I look forward to the future of the server

Average Daily Play Time? 3 hrs daily M-F and between 5-7 daily during the weekends. (I rounded down for both of these in order to make it look like I have a life)

Have you held any LotC staff position(s) before? If so, for how long?: Yes, I was one of the original media team members (with Haelphon and Seventh (the old one)) appointed by Shiftnative and the first build team manager for LOTC. I held my media team position from the end of aegis to the beginning of 3.0 which is when I became an ET builder. by 4.0 I was an ET build manager for about 6 months until I started college and took time off of LOTC to focus on school. I was also a builder on the dev maps for several years, atlas being the last one.

Do you have prior history in any forms of moderation?

I ran and held a board seat for my college's student activities organization for three years as well as co-lead the Business and student success club for two years. I had to take student leadership training all four years of college.

Why do you want to join the GM Team?:

Since I’ve joined the server back in September 2011, I have seen ownership, leadership, and player-base change many times. I remember the days of Vaq and Availer, then just Vaq, then Tythus, etc. I know what makes the server tick, the backbone, the unsung heroes. I’ve been one of them, as well as many other role players that have touched this server. The GM team has always been a team that got things done (for the most part ? ), a group that looked out for the little guys and the big guys with unbiased eyes. I’ve had many friends come and go on this server, and a portion of those friends have been staff. I’ve seen how being a GM can limit how much you get to actually role play, but in exchange you get to be the guardian angels of the players and keep the server running on the straight and narrow for all of the players. I got to enjoy my time being the average player on the server, I want to help other people enjoy their time on Lord of the Craft. I think with my experience, being a veteran of the server and a veteran of the staff I have what it takes to be a good (if not great) GM on your team.

I have been called a human Quaalude, calm and collected for the most part and I believe it is important to display those traits as a GM. However, when it comes to the rules, I would waver to the less lenient side even with those I am associated with. When it comes to the rules decisions should be made based on facts and not opinions. Every incident should be dealt with as a case by case scenario. I’m someone who loves to make the server a better place for everyone and not just a select few. I’m not here applying to be the people’s champion, I’m here for the good of the server.

Now one of the things that I’ve noticed through my many years of playing is the nostalgia for the past. I’ve got no problem with nostalgia, I get nostalgic about previous maps (mostly aegis) often but there is a line. People want to bring the server back to it’s roots, claiming that we need to be more like Aegis, Asulon, etc. but they don’t understand that what they want is not always what they need. Aegis was great, but why stop at Aegis or whatever other map we had. Why don’t we just be better. I think that I can help in that pursuit.

The Constabulary Act of 1690

In the Year 1690, Mayor Obediah Dun’Hope has recognized the need and desire for a formalized constabulary to deal with the underbelly of society. In doing so, this Act does formally establish a City Constabulary, beholden to the Office of the Mayor and Crown. Crime will no longer have a hold in the Capital of Man, nor shall it disrupt the activities of Citizenry or the Crown.

To better suit the needs and demands of the Capital, the structure of the Constabulary will be as follows:

A. Appointed by the Chief of the Constabulary

With the formal establishment of the Constabulary to better protect the Crown and Citizenry of the Capital, the City Governance does see fit to define the titles and duties of the Constabulary as the following:

B. To work in conjunction with the Imperial Legion to protect the Crown

                        A. The Constabulary may not fine someone over 500 Mina for a petty crime

B. The Constabulary may not lawfully execute someone without proper authority from the Courts or Crown

C. The Constabulary may not meddle, interfere, or supersede the business of the Imperial Legion, either within the City or within the Empire

III. On Matters of Criminal Activity

A. The ranking constable will decide fines for petty crimes on the spot

a. Not to exceed more than 500 mina

B. Major Crimes are to be brought to trial

a. Murder or Attempted Murder

b. Arson

c. Theft exceeding 500 mina

e. Witchcraft

III. Requirements to Join

Hey guys (and other genders), figured I'd share some work I did last night with y'all. I've been working on a game and just managed to finish up the first piece of our game's HUD. It's not finished as I still need to do some detail and add a stamina slider as well, but I think it's coming along rather nicely. Let me know what y'all think.

Servano was born into a wealthy family near the mid of Athera. However wealthy his family was at the time has had no positive influence on his mind.The wealth left Servano to be greedy and made him gain poor monetary habits.  As his family withered away with age, so did the money. Servano has never truly had any responsibilities so when his family funds went down the drain he experienced what can only be called the downfall of his golden age.

Without the money provided by his family, Servano went off in all different directions seeking out any way he could to gain some sort of coin for shelter and food. Servano managed to meet a few people along the way that were nice enough to help him pay off debts he had owed. By the time he finished paying the debts Servano still did not have a realistic concept of money due to the fact that those who helped him pay off the debts did not allow him to fix his problems on his own. 

Servano is now as poor and greedy as ever because the only real relationship he has ever had was with money.

Personality Traits: Greedy and sometimes lacking in common sense 

Ambitions: He strives to become what he once was, 'Rich'

Strengths/Talents: Servano has a great language skills and has learned to be cunning through his times with little to no money

While playing on this map for a few days and I have yet to see a sheep, nor any other animal. As a head builder for Alras, I know that we need lots of wool for our build, in fact we need just about 3,500 blocks of it. So while we wait on some sort of "Call of the Wild" to release all of these animals, we have to spend 3 minas a piece on one single piece of wool at a shop, We dont even get enough money at the start to get a stack of wool. Oh, did I mention it was a GM shop, where will a gm go to spend money when they can just spawn in the item or just spawn in the money! This has already decided that the server will have no economy by these chain of events. Lets not forget that about 4 skills rely on animals in the first place! breeding, leather working, blacksmithing, and cooking! So please Fix this problem by turning on mob spawn allow...

its been in the lore since aegis, gobbos are 5-6 foot

So basically either I play my character a certain way or my character's buffs aren't as good as those of the other races? Seems a bit unfair to me.

I agree, I've had my southeron character for quite a long time, and considering he is a blacksmith and has been one for 50 years of his life makes it unfair when he has a -20% blacksmithing. Its punishing me for my own rp, it makes no sense.

I would hope that the debuffs are taken away, there is no need for someone to get punished for playing a race.

That comment wasn't directed at her, it was just a comment in general toward anyone posting on this thread. I say something similar on most large news threads, hence the "for the 100th time".
