Del'Krogar, with two other dwarves following him, dashes to the secret cult's tunnel exit, his pack dropping as he makes his way across a small, tight tunnel. A book tumbles out, and just as Del'Krogar squeezes through the opening, a group of people run after him, cursing. They grab one dwarf's legs, and starts dragging him out. As the dwarf reaches out for safety, he grabs the book, and the book is pulled along with him. The leader snatches the book, and the rest of the group slits the dwarf's throat, as he attempted to escape. He opens the cover, dust bellowing in the air, and he coughs a little. He forces himself to start reading, irritated by the dust.
My life away from home.
First day gone
When I left home to get to school, I suddenly blacked out. There was a sharp pain on the back of my head. When I awoke, I had a headache, and I couldn't see anything. It seemed my head had a sack on it. My hands were tied behind my back, and I was roughly getting dragged somewhere. After a long day, the sack was removed, the ropes cut, and I was thrown in a cell. I lay there for a long time, in a pool of my blood. I had scratches all over, getting dragged along rocks and up stairs. I slowly sat up, and there were two other people with me. Older than me, it seemed, but not a whole lot bigger. They seemed to be dwarves, and looked like twins. I coughed up blood, and muttered, "All uv ye got captured as well?"
They nodded, seeming to refuse to speak. "Why aren't ye speakin'?" I say loudly, a little startled. Simultaneously, they opened their mouths, and the tips were cut off. "A punishment?" I ask, and once again, they nod. I sit back against the cold stone wall of our cell, wondering how this ever happened. I slam my hands on the ground in frustration, then immediately recoil. My hand was blackened, and immediately I recognize it as coal. I start scooping out the coal, and shoving it in my pack. Luckily enough, I had my school notebook in there, and I started writing with the coal. I had nothing else to do, so I slept after a while.
Second day gone
I woke up, my body cramped up. The other two people here were wide awake, gobbling down some bread. He tossed some to me, and I caught it, and wolfed it down. Me as a dwarf hadn't gone for so long without food. glance out the holes on top of the door, and all that greets me is darkness. There is nothing to do here, and I was getting bored quick. I was about to take my stare away from out the door holes, when shouting comes. My door is opened and another person is tossed in. I ask him his name, and he responds: "Ogrhen." He asks for mine, and I say: "Del'Krogar." Ogrhen nods, and sits down, clearly tired. He closes his eyes, and begins to doze off. I decide it best to relax till tomorrow morning, and talk with Ogrhen more.
Third day gone
I wake up, my stomach growling. I'm starved, but no food arrives. Ogrhen wakes up near me, larger than all of us. He groans, and crawls over. He whispers, "Did ye 'ear tha door lock?" I shake my head, and walk over to the door, and try the knob. Amazingly it opens, and I shut it silently, asking the other two dwarves to get ready to leave. They nod, positioning themselves near the door. I look at Ogrhen questioningly, and he nods wearily. He lines up behind me, and I open the door, and we all tumble out. Ogrhen points to the right, and we keep on going. There is a small tunnel, and Ogrhen won't be able to fit through it, though me and the other dwarves can. He points at the tunnel, and tells me, "Ye go wiv out me. Me'll find some other place ta escape from, me'll jus' 'ide until me get me strength back. Me be terribly tired." I nod, and furiously scribble in this book. I shove it in my pack, then run to the tunnel.
