  1. I've only been here for all of two days and I've seen some amazing things. Fled as the undead attacked the kingdom of Oren, got sucked into a rebellion plot by accident, and watched the princess die before my eyes. None of this could've happened without the work and dedication of the Ascended. I'm only saddened that I didn't get to see some of the amazing battles and events you guys made possible! The Ascended also did something that I really, really envied; they helped people. One of my favorite things to do in minecraft is to serve the public good, and in the 5 days I knew about this server I really looked up to you guys. My heart goes out to all the Ascended left with out mentors, and all the Undead left without proper enemies. But most of all I feel sorry for all of those like me with nothing to aspire to. Kings can be corrupt and traders can turn greedy, but there was never an evil Sage. This, I know. P.S.: I never got to tell you guys, but Oren is kind of about to play a game of Tzeentch rules rugby, and the Sages are the only ones not wrapped up in this somehow. Who am I going to tell THE TRUTH(!!!) to now? The guards? Or maybe the Undead? This is truly a sad day for Aegis.
  2. Character Name: Micheal_Swain MC Name: Bp2077 Position: Builder Applicable Skills: I'm a skilled builder with experience constructing shops and trading posts. In addition, I perfectly fit the description of your ideal worker; a driven self-starter new to the lands of Aegis. Play Time(GMT): -7
  3. Out-Of-Character: -Minecraft Account Name: Bp2077 -How old are you?: 17 -Time-Zone/Country of Residence: -7 GMT/United States -Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I like to think so! I try really hard to type with perfect grammar, especially during RP. -Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm a friendly, social person who enjoys Minecraft and roleplaying. I take pride in the work that I do and help out other players whenever possible. Finally, I have a lot of free time that I'd love to do something awesome with, and Lord of the Craft fits the bill. -How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Anywhere from 20 to 25 hours. -How long have you played minecraft?:I've played Minecraft for around 7-8 months. -What do you know about roleplaying? How long have you been doing it? What kind?: Roleplaying is the act of living through a separate character, thinking as he would, knowing only what he knows, acting only as he would, etc. I've been roleplaying for around 5 years, playing in and DMing several D&D, nWoD, and Exalted campaigns both in person and over Skype. I've played on RP Minecraft servers as well, so I know what to expect if I'm accepted. -What do you expect this server will be like?: A server less about Minecraft as we know it and more like a separate roleplaying experience. The application process and diligent mods should keep griefing to a minimum, and the patches and updates will keep things fresh. It looks almost like a separate game, honestly. -What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I've played on countless random servers, but griefing and immature players often led to my departure. I also spent as much time as I could on Penny Arcade's Underdark server, leaving only when it was shut down. My character is loosely based on one of my RP characters from that server. Finally, I helped design PA's current RP/PVP server Nations at War. I only left it because I wanted something with more roleplaying involved. -Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules? What about the lore?: I have read, understand, and agree with the rules. I've also read the lore, and Undead are terrifying. -Name the 4 races on this server. Currently they are Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, and Humans. Not counting Ascended, Undead, and the various sub-races of course. -How did you hear about us?: I saw the Lord of the Craft trailer on YouTube and thought I'd check it out. So far I'm glad that I did. :) -Did you vote?: I tried, but the website said that I was voting through a proxy. This is my home computer and I've never used a proxy in my life. I asked a friend to vote for me though. :P -What was your favorite Law?: No 1337 speak. A true example of what we're avoiding; "nd so the mage totes pwned the noob warrior 'lol you shouldt not tried to best me!' he rofled flinging fireballs at the sky" No, there wasn't a period there when he typed it. That sound is your soul breaking. -What was your least favorite Law?: I didn't see a law that I opposed. -What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name? My forum account is named Bp2077 In-Character: -Character Name: Michel Swain -What is your Race?: Human Northerner -Lordofthecraft.net/forum forum account: My forum account is named Bp2077. -Biography: Swain was born deep underground in a world of caves and caverns far beyond the land of Aegis. This world was named the Depths, or the Cave. The lore of the Cave is another story, but I will at least describe it. The Cave had entire oceans swimming with life. It contained smoke-belching volcanoes, sprawling cities, and even snowy forests. It was truly a world of its own. It was in the Cave that Swain was first taught to swing a pickaxe, build a shed, and properly light caverns to keep monsters away. He spent most of his life mining, but out of necessity rather than pleasure. A life spent in the damp darkness chipping away at rock was not his calling. What he wanted was adventure, and not a weekend jaunt. Swain wanted REAL adventure! The kind you read about in stories, hear sung in taverns at happy hour, and promptly dismiss as ridiculous halfway though their telling... only to eagerly ask what happened next. That was /real/ adventure. Life in the Caves wasn't dull though. There were terrible forces at work in the Depths, two of which were integral to our story. The first was the Red One. He was a being of pure hatred and evil, wanting only to purge the Caves of humankind. Though the inhabitants of the Caves tried to fight back, they were losing ground fast. It would clearly be a losing battle. The second force was what Swain dubbed the Superhighway. It was less of a being and more of an idea, a silent force of chaos and madness. It controlled the millions of interlocking tunnels that littered the Caves. Whenever you'd notice an opening in the rock that hadn't been there before, it was the Superhighway beckoning you closer. Some who took the tunnels never returned, but Swain never saw anything wrong with them. They seemed to take him where he needed to go, but that probably wasn't intentional. You see, the Superhighway wasn't really evil, but it wasn't really good either. It simply was. Swain was around 24 when it happened. He was out mining like any other day when he came across a cave unlike any other. It was made entirely of glowing redstone and netherrack, with pools of lava and obsidian sprinkled throughout. No enemies were in sight and the cave was already well enough lit to allow a good look. How could he resist? As soon as he stepped into the cave the ground began to shake. He struggled to stay on his feet as bits of the cave collapsed behind him, forcing him further into strange cave before him. Suddenly intense light began to emit from the redstone blocks, blinding him. He tripped and fell, lying blind and disoriented on the ground of the cave. Eventually the shaking subsided and the light died down. He slowly rose from the ground, only to find himself surrounded by a ring of hideous monsters. They were strange, twisted creatures, with the body shape of a human but the parts of... everything else, really. Creeper legs, zombie skin, the visible bones of a skeleton -- everything. Slowly the things began to split into two lines, making way for someone or something. Swain didn't wait for them to finish. The second he was on his feet he ran, ditching his equipment and spoils in favor of speed. The things were surprisingly fast, keeping pace with him as he ran. He found a tiny fissure in the wall (probably caused by the shaking from earlier) and ducked through it. He ran blindly through the dark, not stopping even after the squeaks and gargling of the things had faded away. Did they run down another tunnel? He tripped and fell as he pondered the question, seeming to fall for hours until he abruptly lost consciousness. He would awake some time later in the Gates of Life, a soft breeze on his skin as his vision returned... -Character Age: 24 -Character Appearance: Swain looks much like an average human. Brown hair, around 5'11 in height, and with the strength and build of a Northerner. Well, he resembles a Northerner anyway. "Cave Dweller" isn't a sub-race. -Character Personality: Swain is both curious and ambitious; a dangerous combination if there ever was one. He's the kind of guy who makes an adventure out of everything, always shooting for some higher goal or working towards something bigger than the task at hand. That doesn't mean he can't be serious when the situation calls for it however; he's just very hard to discourage. He's very friendly and helpful too, happily taking any reasonable opportunity to help the public good. -Your ambitions: The only thing Swain has ever really wanted was a true adventure. He'll probably shoot for a near impossible goal straight off the bat, something that both proves a fitting finale for his grand adventure and opens the door for yet more adventure to come. The journey can be worth just as much as the destination however, and Swain isn't going to let any road go untraveled. -Can your character read or write?: Yes. He will occasionally write adventure stories and tall tales. -Can your character mine?: Like a man after King Algrim's own heart...though Algrim probably wouldn't appreciate the gesture. Almost all Swain did in the caverns was mine, whether for minerals and gold or for dungeons and secrets. The Caves were actually so rich with diamond and gemstones that the hardest part of mining was stopping, not starting. -Are you a capable builder?: If Swain wasn't mining or exploring in the Caves he was probably building, seemingly always midway through the construction of some megaproject. He really likes to build big and inspiring structures, especially if they help the public somehow. He tends to favor practicality over style in his buildings (as was the norm in the Caves), though he is not without architectural skill. He only lacks direction on how to use it. -Can you wield a sword?: He could probably skewer a spider with a diamond sword, but a well-placed creeper or two would end his fun. His method of fighting off monsters while exploring was to swing as hard as he could and let the blade do the rest. That little trick probably wouldn't hold up well in the land of Aegis, much less in a duel with an experienced fighter. He was a surprisingly good shot with a bow in the Caves, but it's been a while since he's shot one. -Enjoy Farming?: He understands the engineering and science of farming, but other than building them for friends he hasn't had much experience. He would usually buy his food from others, finding the actual act of farming to be much too slow and drawn out. -Does your character have any special skills?: It isn't really a "skill" per-se, but Swain does favor creative and unusual solutions to problems. You're probably thinking that any madman could suggest a strange solution to a simple problem. You would be right. The thing that makes Swain's creativity (if you could call it that) special is that most of his insane solutions actually work. Somehow. For example, Swain had always wanted a great keep in the city of Kileak. It was situated in the middle of a massive cave, architectural wonders stretching as far as the eye could see. Sadly there was barely enough free land to move about, much less to build a castle. Anyone else might've given up, but Swain realized something; the ground was taken, but the roof of the cave was yet unclaimed. Soon he had constructed a full castle, complete with a throne room, secret vault, and a lava moat. None of it touched the ground. -A screenshot of your skin: Here is a screenshot of my skin -Other Information: If you're okay with me being born outside of Aegis, I think never having seen the surface before would make for some great RP. I was also not kidding when I said the Cave had a lot of lore, and I'd be more than happy to share it IC if I get accepted. Finally, I'm sorry about the length of my background (and my app in general). I hope it didn't take too long to read. >_< Thanks for reading, and I hope you find me worthy!
