  1. *Rolls his eyes as he sets his lute down, crossing his arms while watching the two nonchalantly. His hair moves slightly with the wind as he tilts his head, keeping his saber at his side, in case he wants in on the fun.*

  2. Seth yawns as he sits at the edge of the gazebo, playing his lute softly and humming to himself, taking a break from his supply trip. He turns his head around, to observe Anri and the oncoming party. Seth sighs as he sits sideways, his lute humming along with his ambient strumming, observing Anri and the coming group, his thin saber sheathed by his side. His runes glint slightly at the rising sun, casting a small glow on his chest. He yawns, obviously bored, watching yet another one of Salvus's shenanigans.

  3. *Bumps into the poster board, without looking, distracted by his journal. He pats the wooden board, without looking.*

    "Oh Sorry si-!"

He looks up slightly confused, and studies the poster board. Seth smirks slightly as he looks at the poster, snorting a bit.*

"Right. I doubt anyone'll be able to get good ol' Kvothe. Anyone who tries'll get a shovel up their bums."

*He snickers as he shakes his head, going back to his novel.*

  4. Repiteo and I've have grown to be a wonderful pair of friends. From what I've seen from him is a lot of dedication, mixed with his own taste of fun and satirical humour. Reppy is one of the most dedicated people on the server and in the forums, and also a very intelligent individual as well. He wields his power with responsibility much like he wields his majestic voice in a room full of people, proud, willing to speak up, but not overpowering the voices of anyone around him.

So I say, +1 Repite-bro, from your buddy Seth.

I love how brilliantly your comparisons and similies can put me into perspective. The fact you open up and close the argument with stating we are indeed friends and yet still provide non oases and legitimate input on your appraisal means a lot. ...And you also very nicely summed up my style of humor, so both a nod of appreciation and a chuckle of lulzness to you.
  5. *A blue dove lands and leaves a note by the window of the main room at the keep, the blue bird stays there, pecking the window, waiting for a response.*

"Harken has been incapacitated, it seems he'll be away for awhile. Sorry for lack of contact with the keep, he's in a state of comatose. Thank you."

  6. *Sighs as he lets a small dove go, and goes back to his book, writing carefully new notes in his research documents*

I have some research that you may be interested in. I'd like to share my research discreetly with you, personally, because I'd prefer to have this under wraps. I'd like to mainly discuss the relation of artificial/runic magic and Alchemy. I'd be willing to find a relation and quite possibly a breakthrough between the two, whether that be medically or purely for other reasons.

  7. Name:

    Seth Harken/Ergent Seth

    Race:

    Elf

    Possible Role:

Most Preferably an Arcane Marshall, if not then an Arcane Guardian

    Previous or Current Affiliations:

I have been part of the former Laurelin Vanguard, leading them as their magistrate. I was affiliated with a small charity organization known as the 'Tree Top Inn', as their Guard Captain.

    Link to Character Application:

((Application lost in the reform of application team. Here is a backstory. ^^))

A shattered past, a reformed present, a mysterious future. Seth Harken is quite an odd high elf, living in the trees with the wood elves, not caring for the tradition or any of the views of the other elves, only guided by his own morals and wit. His appearance appears to be different from most elves as well, only wearing white button up shirt, black pants, and black shoes, instead of the usual elven greenery. On his forehead, stomach, chest, back, and wrists, rests blue diamond jewels embedded on his skin.

Seth, for the longest time, lived the life of a weapon, causing slaughter, destruction, and chaos. Over the course of this sad life, starting to feel a tinge of sadness for every stab, ever drop of blood, and ever shriek. Soon, he left this lifestyle, going to aegis to pursue the life of a regular being, guided by the natural good, or his view on the natural good, per se. Throughout his journey in the lands of Aegis, he soon met a women, Valer D'avore, who ends up being his wife in the new land of Asulon. Valer changed Seth, making him feel real, genuine, and not an emotionless tool for others to use for their advantage.

Seth now resides in Asulon, learning how to protect those he loves, but in the end, he also ends up hurting them in the process. Seth needs to learn how to defend others, and not pain them doing so. He is willing to go through any obstacle and assignment, if it means for the betterment for his loved ones. He will expand that protection to others, helping other individuals cope with the pain and misery, from suffering under the sinister. Seth doesn't want to be a weapon anymore. He wants to be a shield.

    What is Your Goal:

My goal is to either refine the power I have, or find a way to live without it. I've lost many comrades in the past few years, including my own brother, because of my lack of strength and power. I want to learn how to protect others properly and effectively, including my own family. I'm sick and tired of dark beings constantly haunting me, and I just want to live a normal life, with my wife, my daughter, and possibly another child coming, as well. I also want to expand this protection to those who're unable to protect themselves as well, because I tire of those out there dishonorably massacred at the hands of the cruel.

I want to travel as well, finding ways to end the suffering of others, as well as my own. There are individuals who may be like me, and therefore if I meet them, I can also understand them, and help them with their pain.

    Why Join the Covenant?:

I believe the covenant is ran by able personnel, that can teach me the real way of control, and the act of protection. It is a way where I can learn how to get rid of my own suffering, and also take away the pain of others. The covenant is a place where I can atone.

Wood elves are battling humans. The wood elves appear to be losing. What is your response?:

Immediately, I rush to the aid of the wood elves, defending those struck down by the humans. I look around trying to find wounded personnel, immediately getting them out of the fray. I bring the wounded wood elves into a medical encampment, and I immediately go, in to help defends the woof elves, fighting humans and incapacitating humans, but not going for killing blows.

After a strenuating fight to the nail and fist, you are badly injured, but your opponent is even worse off. What course of action do you follow?:

I stand up, dizzied by the fight between us two. I look at my opponent, and turning around, asking for the aid of any bystander watching, to give him medical aid. I ignore his protests and insults of being cowardly, and smile as I limp away. I've done what i needed to do, I do not finish my opponent off, because the only reason why I truly fight is only for self defense, and the defense of others, which is the case in this event.

  8. I hope people realize how ridiculously tedious having to give ingame tests would be. The whole point of the recommendations in villain apps is so we wouldn't have to do that sort of thing. Unfortunately, it seems references are too easy to obtain and take too few to garuntee consensus on how "good" said RPer is. Thusly, I have two suggestions to offer in regards to just that:

1: Make evils require more references then they do now for an app to be accepted. It seems farfetched to me that being trusted having a split personality would only require a brief commendation of RP by just three people. Perhaps increasing the overall recomendations for each evil would help weed out the poor RPers that only get the required recommendations due to their OOC friends.

2: Have the reference ammounts needed stack with the more evils one adds. Self explanatory. This would achieve the same result of eliminating the OOC handicap problem listed above. The main difference between this option and the above one is this one would be more "precise", making RP privileges correspond directly to how many privileges one would request.

How about not considering a +1 from a referrer, unless he includes a small paragraph of information about the applicant, that contributes to his/her RP quality?

  9. I love this guy with a passion. A good FM candidate, a contributor, and a wonderful friend.

Arik has contributed to LOTC a great deal, and I think he's more than worthy enough to have the job of an FM. He's helped me many times on many occasions, and we've had our laughs on even more. So, I support Arik to the fullest, and wish him good luck.

    +1

    Call me.

    Torok Whitestorm

    A Husband, A Brother, A Hero.

*Many years later, in Asulon, a small book rests chained upon a grave stone. The grave stone reads: Torok Whitestorm. You open the book to read the wonders of this man.*

Torok Whitestorm. A friend, a husband, a warrior, a comrade, a hero, and most of all, a true brother. On a sad day, this man breathed his last, honorably fighting until the end, he by my side, and I by his. He fought for family, for his friends, for his brothers, and most of all, to protect his lover, Rattalyn. The two loved each other dearly, Torok brought much happiness into the life of Rattalyn.

Torok died as a warrior, helping people go into the verge and fighting to the end. As he and I ((Seth)), were one of the last ones to head up the stairs into the outskirts of the verge, three spiders awaiting prey assaulted Torok, and he descended all the way into the dark lower library. I quickly followed him down, fighting off spiders helping him back up, his armour dented in several places, a hole on it's side, his face mask dirty, we got up and stood back to back, fighting off spider by spider, skeleton by skeleton. We found a way out of the abyss, helping Torok outside. As I helped my brother out of the verge, I said:

"You better be on those boats with me. Rattalyn's waiting."

I noticed his injury, and I saw Alys and Voak, along with their child Aylir over by the road. I told Torok to head to them, to get the wound on his side checked, as I went to go look for my fiancé Valer, and my daughter, Dahlia. But as I bumped into Torok and the others, during my search, I see that his wound got worse, blood and green poison stained his face mask. I ripped it off, and tried to heal him, along with Alys. But we were too late. He breathed his last, saying his last words to his dear wife:

    "Tell....Rattalyn.....that I lo..love her....."

This man was more of a brother to me than anyone else was, not even my blood brother could match up with him. He was a dear friend to all of us, and he will truly be missed.

Goodbye Torok Whitestorm, brother. Rest in Peace.

  11. *Looks from a distance, his eyes fully blue before going back to their blank state. He starts to walk away, hands in his pockets, turning away from the crowd. He's not exiled. He holds no grudge, but he knows that the man has the huge potential to put him down, whether that be publicly or silently. He mutters the only word that fits in his current situation.*

    "Crap."

  12. *clears his throat that he may better speak Oomie*

I find your sense of self entitlement to be annoying, Albai. The way I see it, you are NOT our allies. Allies come to the aid of their brothers, you hide in your trees and show up when the fight is done to help defend against routed foes.

*His voice is a low growl as he continues*

You find a Kub wandering the lands, he has been orphaned and it is up to him to survive the lands. When Kubs come of age in Orc society, they are either strong or they are weak. The strong are kept, the weak are cast out into the desert. If they survive they may return, but if they die they prove they are too weak to fend for themselves and are only a burden to the world. By saving him, you have insulted our culture, our traditions, and the world which we live in. You insult him by not giving him the mercy and honor of a well earned death. Instead you let him continue living a wretched existence as a burden to the world.

    *His voice rises threateningly*

Then you have the gall to cry out against us for stealing the child? Craotor is a Dominus, and head of clan Lur. If he wishes to steal a child from a nation that we have some pact-of-weakness with, he can. If he wants to hurt and threaten you people, then come back to raid you for your minas, materials, homes, and freedom I will only support him. You are not our allies. You deserve none of our protection. What are you going to do to stop him? Show up with all you force after he has already left and the danger past? Sit down, shut up, and be glad he only took some runt kub too weak to be worth a damn.

Does tradition really matter anymore? The world is falling apart, chaos is spreading it's roots. We either resolve this argument peacefully, or we fall in conflict. We cannot conflict anymore. If we do, we'll start crumbling slowly but surely. There has been nothing good at all, along with the leave of Native, the death of Mylas, the fall of Al'khazar and the north, a separate sect of orcs from Krugmar terrorizing the lands. In all honestly, we have no time to worry about the cub, nor for tradition to be a huge issue, to the current situation at hand. Again, Oren's close to falling, and Kal'Uruguan has been preparing for a war, the undead have been reigning while we argue with each other.

Please sirs, madames. Resolve this issue, as peacefully as possible, there is no need for animalistic tendencies. Right now, Death looms overhead, preying.

  13. Unfortunately, if it's not in there then we become absolutely ineffective, because at the end of the day "what are we going to do about it".

That was the main reason I had to write those.

You can't just ask someone to go to jail and then be like "Ok, nevermind then" when they say "No".

Our job as law enforcement is to enforce the law, not make friends.

If you want to do the popular thing your in the wrong place.

True, but I'm trying to avoid the discontent others had with the wardens, not to have the Vanguard rise in it's popularity standings. We don't want to get mixed up again, with another 'Rebel Coalition', much like Caden's.

  14. Due to recent confrontations of bandits and general misconduct in Malinor I recommend the following laws are put into place as it seems many people really "don't care" because "what are we going to do about it".

    Things that get you arrested:

    1. Disturbing the Peace.

1a. Up to the discretion of arresting officer.

1b. Can be appealed to a higher ranking law enforcement officer.

    3. Threats to life or property.

    4. Theft.

    5. Brawling.

5a. The only exemption to the Brawling rule is a SINGLE punch as a greeting.

All ARREST WORTHY ACTIONS can be elevated to KILLABLE OFFENSES !

    See Resisting Arrest below!

Things that get you killed (consent to PvP acts):

    1. Drawing a weapon of any kind in the presence of Law Enforcement.

1a. A single warning is required before attacking, the format is up to the officer.

    2. Assault with a deadly weapon.

    3. Resisting arrest.

    3a. Includes running away.

3b. Includes acting like the officer does not exist.

3c. Includes continuing to perform the illegal action in question.

I agree with most of this, other than resisting arrest (when they run away). I would think that people would see as bloodied up hunters rather than people who fight for the peace, if any event were to occur this way.
