    MCName: Mr_SneakyFace

    Forum Name: Ergent Seth

    Timezone: GMT - 8

Time spent weekly on LotC: 3-4 hours a day, minimum, time permitting.

Method of contact: Preferably through forum PM

Guild Experience: Not much, never been in a guild in LOTC.

What is your Roleplay Experience? In a military/guard if any? I role play fairly well, I'm also a registered villain too. As for in a military or guard, I have never been in either.

    In Character:

    Character Name: Seth Harken/Ergent Seth

    Race: Elf

Combat Experience: I'm extremely proficient with the sword. My fighting style is not as organized, as a martial art, but it's still deadly. I have little to no use for a bow.

Other Skills: I am half decent with lumberjacking, and I could cook a bit. I also play the lute, although that may serve no purpose to our cause.

Short Bio: I wish to join, in order to find a place to serve. Seth was created in order to be a servant of something, ANYTHING. He needs a place to follow, some place where he can protect and serve, otherwise we would lose himself in the process. He needs a purpose in order to go with his life, or else, his own mind will consume him.

    Recite the Vanguard Creed:

    I will always protect Malinor.

    I will never except defeat.

I will never leave a fallen comrade.

    I will never quit.

So help the grace of Malin, I swear.

    ((End of OOC))

*In a local library, you find three books that are part of a series dubbed 'Sermonum Dementius'. Three books are within the collection: Grandiose, Sanguine, and Prestige. Grandiose being a bright blue book, Sanguine in the color of blood red, and Prestige, in a light kingly green There is a foreword written on a piece of paper, slipped in front of the book titled 'Grandiose'*

    ==Foreword==

Insanity, a misunderstood concept, slandered by civilization. Insanity is said to be the act of lacking civil obedience, to not be chained by society's shackles. To be free, but to be imprisoned, that is what true insanity is. The man who spoke these words, is not to be listened to, corrupted by society's standards, not only seeing insanity of a whole new species, a whole new race. No. True insanity, is to live, without any true purpose, without any true light at the end of the tunnel.

To be insane, is to live, when you are destined to die.

    ==Grandiose==

    leonides_2546657_419_339.jpg

*Grandiose is the most unkempt of the books, which resembled more of a folder of tid bits and files, rather than an actual biography. It included government documents, excerpts written by others, and other little pieces of information. A picture of a middle aged young man is on the cover of this novel.*

Entry 1 - Excerpts from the novel: "Insanity in Tessic." / Input from Anonymous Narrator (Possible Alchemist)

Centuries ago, a politically neutral Elven town by the name of Tessic Village existed. They weren't under the reign of any of the nations, they were an independent town, and they were also shunned by most of the nations. Tessic Village, was a village who practices alchemy, they were viewed as monsters and treated as if they were lesser beings, due to Alchemy's close relation to Witchcraft. The village was a bit ahead of their time, which shunned them even more, from the world, unaccepted, the people that shall never be.

There was a man who was a street rat ever since he was a young teenager, casted out onto the world from the many foster homes that attempted keep the boy, but these foster families failed to see the bloody tendencies within the young one, thus ending with their pitiful fate, their demise triggered by an act of kindness. The boy was different, he has never experienced joy, he was born and left in the street, oddly quiet, and half naked. He was raised by a sweet old Tessican woman, for the first decades of his life. The woman noticed that the boy she adopted, ever so easily, was different than the other ones. He was emotionless, never a smile seen in his early life, those blank eyes tearing holes into your heart. The boy first smiled when he brought a dead bird into the woman's house, cupped in his hands, a sharp stick punctured its side. With a twisted grin plastered unto his face, the kind old lady frowned, but accepted the 'gift', only because it brought joy to the boy. Everyday, the boy brought something bigger into the house, brutally killed, from birds to badgers, from rats to wolves, all cut up. The woman couldn't take it anymore, and scolded the boy for his wrongdoings to the wild life. That was the day, when the boy thirsted for human blood. After the lady was brutally cut up, he left the house, and went to the streets again, his eyes blank. The cycle begins again, as others pick him up to be part of a family, that would soon be gone. This cycle kept on going until adulthood. The boy, now man, gracefully painted the walls red, full of his art, his eyes filled with the joy of bloodlust. This boy, his name was Ergent Seth. As a young man, at the age of a century and a half, became an infamous figure of Tessic, and their people. Thousands of people were enraged at this killer, a man of true insanity, inside the shell of false innocence.

Ergent was being observed by the government of Tessic Village. Ergent was eventually caught and turned in for his crimes. The citizens of Tessic wanted a public execution, but the government decided to do something else. Tessic's government wasn't the greatest, they had a similar looking man be executed in Ergent's place. Their government believed in alchemic testing on human subjects, they did not test on their citizens, but they tested their prisoners. For what reasons? Research? Pursuit of knowledge? No. The Tessican Government needed a military, although they were a bit technologically advanced, they still lacked the personnel or the defense against others, due to the rise of violence around the nations. So they used their prisoners, as housing for their weapons, a man made weapon, in the body of a killer. And thus, Seth Harken was born.

Entry 2 - Copies of some Alchemic (Lab) Documents.

Seth Harken, subject 41, during the alpha testing of the creation of artificial souls. He was created through a base, using a soul stone, and his birth was triggered through a catalyst of the death of hundreds of prisoners. In my opinion, the loss of these souls was worth it, we've created the first super weapon of our time, an artificial user of the arcane, an artificial runic mage. We feel the power of his soul radiating from him, in his stone, but there's also something else there, seemingly...emotion? Well that's not right, weapons aren't supposed to have emotion, possibly just one hurdle to look after, nothing much. After forty failed experiments, I don't think this is something we'd have to worry about, no sir, nothing at all. The boy will inhabit one of the most notorious killers we have... I believe his name his Ergent Seth? Odd, how unlikely, for their names to be similar, ah well, I'm an alchemist! I don't cling to superstition, but I digress. I do hope the inhabitation process goes well, the other experiments went into a frenzy, or perished in the process, or both...but I have high hopes for this one. This will be the one, the secret weapon of the village.

Entry 3 - More copies of alchemic documents, and medical diagnostics.

It's been three days .The body is healthy, and stable, doesn't seem that he'll be gone any soon. The experiment was a success, though the process...was a bit grotesque. We had to keep the murderer, Ergent Seth I believe, in restraints, because by the gods, he took out three of our personnel, with just a pair of scissors, he's insane, a madman at heart, a monster. We had to feed him the rune where experiment 41 was kept in. The boy almost died through the process. Jewels and runes just ripped out from the inside of his chest, back, ankles, wrists, and finally his forehead. He was a bloody mess, one of my fellow colleagues fainted at the sight, but I, I saw it as one of the greatest breakthroughs of the century. It was glorious.

He seems to have taken control of the body fairly well, and due to the memories and knowledge of the host body, he learned how to speak and walk well too, but there's something wrong. His eyes, it shows the faintest hint of expression, of sadness. That's odd, he's a weapon, created by us, in essence, he should be an emotionless doll. Bah, it's the 41st experiment, things get to you. Soon he'll be released to the world, living with the citizens, and see how he interacts with them. We haven't gone this far yet, but we have high hopes.

Entry 4 - Letter to a man named 'Roland'

    Dear, Roland.

It seems the experiment has been prone to show emotion. He's befriended a couple of people in his selected environment. He's just like you, just a bit more....humane? I digress. He's only meant to be a weapon, not a soft hearted being. To think, that this man has written poetry! How comical! How can a being of no emotion invoke any emotion at all, especially in poetry! Ahh, rubbish. The real reason for this letter is for his termination. He is set for proper execution soon, and anybody other than alchemists associated with him are to be also terminated. I think you can handle that. Brother's are supposed to fix other brother's messes.

    From,

    Baron Eisen.

Entry 5 - Journal entry by aforementioned 'Roland'

Seems that my brother's escaped. It also seems that emotional expression is a powerful weapon, and for him, a person with the emotional stability of a suicidal elf, he was a ticking time bomb. That show he put on at the gallows, he enveloped the whole square of the town in blue light, then suddenly, everyone in that immediate area was turned into smithereens, leaving nothing but a crater in place of the old fountain. Like brother, like brother, I suppose. I can't believe he's escaped. How did he even get to feeling that way in the first place. When I was created, I was happy, content, with serving my master. But him, he seemed sad...angry.... especially when I killed that elven woman he felt attached to. It's probably because of that, the attachment to living kind, to not serve, but to be equal. Quite interesting. Well it's time to go, I guess I'll start writing once again when I finally track him. The baron wants me to eliminate him, not to bring him back.... but... he's my brother.... Oh, forget it, I can't cling on emotion like that scum, it'll ruin everything I live for. Besides, it's more fun this way, I'm happy. Right?

Entry 6 - Governmental document sent by 'Baron Eisen'

No! Damnit! I did not authorize Rolland leaving the city! Get any militiamen needed to repair the 1/4th of the city that was destroyed by Seth on his execution day. By the gods, that explosion took out 7 out of our 9 government officials. Now it's just me, and that idiot Herald, who's spent last year's currency on a whole era of failure experiments. Yes. That's it, I'll just leave Herald in the dust....take him out.... No damnit No! We're open to attack, all of our research in this damned city, all for nothing! Nothing! Rubbish! Just because a failure of an experiment got the hots for a rebel *****. Not to mention, that same ***** was part of the parasite era of the experiments. No...no....no. We're done. Doomed. Fini. I'm going to be storing any left over information pertaining to Seth and Rolland, I'll leave it in the vault. I know Rolland's going to come back to a city that's been assaulted by disease, robbery, and economic collapse. An empty shell of what used to be greatness. Damn that Seth for ruining all those plans I've had. Damn that useless experiment.....that rebel....whatever the hell her name was....by gods, I'm going to destroy her if it's the last thing I do.... Oh and Winsor, once you're done sending the militia men to the broken part of the city, I'm going to need guards. Things are getting unusually loud here, and I don't want to be caught here with my-

*The note cuts off, partially burnt and bloody. There is oddly messy writing on the back of the document.*

Lost legs, bleeding a lot. Information in files. Fourth shelf, next to gold chest. Rolland. You die soon. Run. Hide Seth. Yuko.

Entry 7 - An alchemic document, with the word: "DISPOSED" printed over it. It lists many names, of experiments and 'eras'.

Era 1 Singularity - First Era, made before experiments were done in batches.

Exp. 1 - Deceased after initial experimentation. Exploded due to rejection of the body.

Exp. 2 - Deceased after initial experimentation.

Exp. 3 - Was successful, for about 3 days, before committing suicide.

Exp. 4 - Deceased after experimentation.

Exp. 5 - Was successful, but went briefly maverick, and killed two Alchemists. Was eventually restrained and put down.

Exp. 6 - Deceased before experimentation, Soul rune destroyed itself, before inserted into body.

Exp. 7 - Codename: 'Mother' - Successful, but body was dead before experiment occurred, causing a biological reaction. The body quickly grew, 'melted', and 'molded' into a grotesque, and huge egg-like structure. Produced Soul runes, in batches. Experiments were now down in Era batches.

Era 2 Quadros - Second Era, experiments done in fours.

Exps. 8-12 - Failure due to rejection of bodies and their similar mindsets.

Exps.13-17 - Failure due to suicides, and similar mindsets

Exps. 18-22 - Failure due to suicides, and simliar mindsets.

*Footnote. Experiments ended up to be quadruplets, with similar faces, exterrior. These quadruplets end up changing the appearance and the build of their hosts.*

Era 3 Collosus - Mass experiment, caused the greatest collapse in money, and deaths in the lab. Organized by a man named 'Herald.'

Exp 23 - 37 - Mass death, due to reaction towards each other, causing an energetic failure. Said energetic failure killed all the experiments and 7 Alchemists

Era 4 Duos -Final Era, The perfect formula complete.

    Parasitic Versions:

Exp 38 Codename: Zehk - Successful, turned rogue with experiment Yuko. Essentially, the defense of the village, before Seth was born.

Exp 39 Codename: Yuko - Successful, turned rogue. Essentially, the offense of the village, before Rolland was born.

    Original Versions:

Exp. 40 Codename: Rolland - Successful.

Exp. 41 Codename: Seth - Successful.

Entry 8 - A note written by 'Yuko', a footnote says: "Found on the body of 'Eisen'."

It's been fun. I'm glad that Seth took out most of the targets needed. It's been easy, I have a piece of him with me, in case I need him again. And Rolland? It's quite funny, I sent him away, to get his own brother, you even blamed Eisen for leaving too, how cute. The village is in ruins, it's people dead, 'Mother' disposed of. The rebellion was such a success, and it only took me, my dear brother, and lovely Seth. If you ever see him, tell him thank you. He's my most valuable servant. Yes Rolland. He IS my most valuable servant.

*A bloody kiss mark is on the end of the note.*

    ==Sanguine==

    elfen-lied.png

*Sanguine seems to be an array of journal entries of a man by the name of Seth Harken. It's cover has the same picture of the young man from 'Grandiose', but a close up of his eyes, now a scarlet red. The handwriting of this book seems to be an attempt at being elegant, but also seems a bit...shifty.*

    Entry 1 -

It's been about 50 years. I've been wandering these forests and villages here and there, and I found myself upon an odd temple. Something odder, there were people here, oddly dressed, different from Tessic. An elf told me to follow the 'Kings Road' to 'Malinor'. I followed said road, and found myself in a weird village, with people who seem to be elves, which seem to be full of tree-houses. Fascinated, I went back down the kings road, to a grand library and started researching about this 'Malinor' I've been in the library for only an hour, but I'm intrigued. Such a primitive...yet tranquil nation. But in my situation...I'm going to need to blend in. I don't want to go back to such a village. Never. I will end things for now.

    Entry 2 -

I've seen a few people talk around here and there in Laurelin. I've met a few people here and there as well, no friends yet. Found a cave to sleep in at least. My days consist of going to the library in the morning, scavenging around for food, going to the library, hanging around Malinor, going to the library, then sleeping in a cave. A simple, yet preferably life style, compared to the others. I'm not going to speak, all I'm going to do for now, is just observe.

    Entry 3 -

I've went behind the druid's tree today. It seemed interesting, but I was also hearing some ruckus. There was a confrontation near the druids tree earlier, between two odd men in cloaks....Undead...? I'm not sure. But in the back of a druid's tree...I've seen elves murder each other...it seemed that there was a murder of a druid back there. How odd.

    Entry 4 -

Briefly met a person named Lirinya. There seemed to be a bard who was coaxing her to dance. The bard seemed extremely shifty, and I felt odd. I felt like I wanted to punch the man He had the same expression of the greedy eyes who stalked Yuko. Was this....anger? I shrugged the feeling off, and headed to the bard. Instead of having an up and in front confrontation, I politely and discreetly told him to go dance with a naked sheep. It made Lirinya laugh, and it made me feel....odd. The bard grumbled away, as I shrugged and headed off too.

    Entry 5 -

I've been going to the library, less and less, due to me reading most of the tomes about culture in Malinor, and even Aegis itself. I've been observing others in Laurelin even more, trying to adopt their dialect. I've even made myself an alibi, because I want to leave my old life for good. I want to be a different person, not... a weapon. The alibi goes as such: I am a former undead mage who's been transferred into the body of a donor. I will play the part of an amnesiac. What did Yuko call this....a fakade? Fasawd? Facade? Ah well.

    Entry 6 -

Followed a man called Respiren, in a journey to join Wardens. I didn't want to join the Wardens...all I wanted was to ask questions. I told him about my past (using the alibi I've conjured up), and he said to seek out the ascended. I've decided to wander out, wondering...thinking.... I stayed in my cave hole, for a very long time.

    Entry 7 -

Met two people, named Alys and Voak. They seemed like a wonderful couple, those two. These two...were nice, although they gave me weird looks with my clothing....I was still wearing the bright robes I wore on the day of my said excecution. I shrugged it off, and decided to walk around. Friends....are quite nice. People who don't manipulate you....how....nice. I've been....having these weird.....tingles....these weird feelings. Yuko called it emotion. I asked her, what it was....and she said, it's something to prove you're real, that you're genuine. And that what I feel when I'm with her, is love. Except.....Ergent said...

    Entry 8-

I've met a man named Mania. He was an odd, yet enthusiastic fellow. He looked at my runes and such, as I gave him the same alibi. He said the could help regain my memories. I felt... guilty. That I was leading him in a wild goose chase.

    Entry 9 -

I've bumped into a person named Rattalyn, she was nice, and decided to have a small, leisurely chat with her. I've told the same alibi, I did with Respiren. A man named Torok, with a companion named Aielos also listened in, with a dark elf, who's name I do not remember, anymore, sadly. Ah well, in due time it'll come back to me. I've also seen Alys again, around the front gates, while I was sitting down, by the board trying to sleep. She complimented on how shiny my appearance was. We talked, and we had a lot of fun. She invited me to the inn, and I told her next time. I wanted to stay in the cave a bit more, to think everything out. I was making friends...was this love...? No. I believe....they call it, happiness?

    Entry 10 -

I went to the tree top inn, and saw Alys there, along with Torok. We've had a chat with each other, then Rattalyn and Voak soon joined us. Voak... seemed a bit, different from the group, in my opinion. Although...I've had a nice time there. Everyone had a laugh, they said I was funny, because of my 'wisecracks'. It was one of the most fun, and happiest times of my entire life. I just wish....that I could experience that everyday.

    Entry 11 -

I've been busy in my cave home, hunting, scavenging, resting. I've even carved a lute. Yuko always said I was good at music and expression. She also said that my most beautiful of songs, were played on the piano. She also said that she would never manipulate me. But....she...Ergent...he said... that she was. I don't know what to believe. I keep calling for his help but, he's been quiet...as if he's been sleeping. I'm not sure, whether I should be afraid when for when he comes back from his slumber, or if I should look forward to it.

    ==Prestige==

    rsz_4519099.png

*Prestige also seems to be an array of journal entries, by the man named Roland again. It has a picture of a butler with red demonic eyes smiling. The handwriting of the book seems to be elegant, and flowing.

  3. Everyone listen, I was Kramoroe's ambassador to the Imperial Coalition and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the people leading them. From what I have gathered; the people committing these heinous acts are members of the IC acting independently and using their status in a guild to intimidate whoever they can reap a profit off of. The only bad leader the IC had was the one know as Jay; who was thrown out quite a long time ago. His actions and bad decisions have biased Aegis against the Imperials rather unfairly from my perspective.

The current leader is a very economic and honorable man who is only trying work himself and his guild up in the world, like everyone and every other guild.

The leader is not to blame, but the ones of lower rank are. What shall we do about those who've taxed our people? We just can't let them get away with what they've done and the way they've distressed the denizens of Laurelin.

  4. I have a suggestion, maybe we can have waterfalls at the base of the walls. The design is great, but we are also prone to damage through fire as well. It would be catastrophic is the forests were burned.

And I also liked that fellows cobweb idea as well.

  5. Out-Of-Character:

    -Minecraft Account Name: Mr_SneakyFace

-How old are you?: I am fifteen years of age, turning sixteen years of age in one month.

-Time-Zone/Country of Residence: I am in the PDT time zone,UTC/GMT -8 hours, and I reside in California, USA.

-Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I believe that I have a good grasp on the English language. Writing is my passion, so, in my opinion, I think that my speech is acceptable for your community.

-Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am currently a junior in high school, and I'm enjoying the journey. My favourite pastimes include writing, reading, playing video games, video editing, tennis, and just, overall, having a lot of fun with friends. I love being an open person, being funny and entertaining people as much as I can, I just love making people happy. C:

-How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I can go on the server at least three times a week, (about 5 - 6 hours a week). If I'm not busy, I might be able to go on everyday, if possible (15 hours a week).

-How long have you played minecraft?: I have played minecraft since the beginning of alpha, so I would say, at least a year.

-What do you know about roleplaying? How long have you been doing it? What kind?: Roleplaying, in essence, is not just acting, but going into a whole different persona of the character you are playing. When you roleplay you just don't want to "act" like your character, you need to be your character. Also some aspects in roleplaying include, doing things in a game as you would in real life, (knocking on doors, greeting people, portraying your emotions through LANGUAGE, not in 1337 or net speak). But the best and main thing about roleplaying is to have fun, because if you're not enjoying yourself, then what's the point?

As for my experience in roleplaying, I have been in an improv comedy club at school for about a year, so I have roleplayed, if not, acted a lot in an improv scenery. I know how to go along with a story line, instead of stopping and asking questions. I have also been in a roleplay server for a bit, and I loved the experience it has given me.

-What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect the server would be something like, an Elder Scrolls environment, with a great roleplaying community, but also, I think the server would be a wonderful and warm community helping you get used to the ropes of the server.

-What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I've been on BattleCraft, HeroCraft, and Roleplay Revolution so far, and they're all good servers, I go visit these servers from time to time, so technically I haven't left those servers yet.

-Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules? What about the lore?: I understand and agree to the rules, and I am absolutely thrilled about the lore.

-Name the 4 races on this server: Humans, Dwarves, Elves, and Orcs. Not counting the subraces, nor the undead and the Ascended.

-How did you hear about us?: I have been scrolling throughout the minecraft forums looking for an amazing roleplaying server, the server looks extremely promissing.

-Did you vote?: Yes I have. I voted on all three of the websites.

-What was your favourite Law?: My favourite law would be no 1337 speak, mainly because 1337 in an RP server is like trying to put out a fire with oil. I mean, talking with net speak and 1337 just bothers me already, but when you roleplay with this kind of language, it just annoys me.

-What was your least favourite Law?: The skin law, I'm just having trouble finding the perfect skin...ohp. Found one! I hope.

-What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Ergent Seth

    In-Character:

    -Character Name: Seth Harkan

    -What is your Race?: Elf

    -Lordofthecraft.net/forum  forum account: Ergent Seth

-Biography: A birth that was to be regretted. That is the story of Seth. From his birth he had been leading a happy lifestyle, in his families home. He had a job as a librarian in his old hometown, a small village dubbed Cyrus, whom it's citizens researched the runic arts of healing, quietly, unknown, and peaceful. Seth was a middle class citizen, with 'special benefits' from the Temple, the government head of the village, composed of mages who studied the runic arts. The Temple saw Seth as a potential mage, possibly one stronger than themselves. The Temple soon contacted his parents about his power, and they understood, that is how Seth got a job as the Temple's Librarian, given the access of tomes, spells, and enchantments he can learn how to do, when the time comes right. Seth excited for this job, was sadly disappointed. He was never able to do the spells that he saw on the tomes. And life went on for him, a dull librarian. Or so it seemed.

The day where Seth regretted his birth was ironically on his 21st birthday. His parents, his friends, and even the Temple came to visit the day where he would become a true man of the village. There were festivities, mock mage duels, and many laughs going around. Later that day, the sky darkened. A purple haze flowed throughout the village. Suddenly at the village gates stood hordes of men in hoods, armed with just their magic.

A vile stench flowed through the village, and a Sage from the Temple yelled: "UNDEAD!!!!". Seth panicked, he only knew of basic swordplay, but he knew they were extremely outnumbered, but his mother rushed them into their basement and told him to hide there, and also said her last words to him: "Shield. Find the Shield". She turns around, and closes the door. All that Seth did was listen until the screams died down. The basement door exploded, three people with strange robes walked in the basement, and saw Seth. "Hello. You must be the mage." one of them said, "Now, come with us. We need you. Seth, we don't want you to end up like your mother." He held up the disembodied head of his mother. Seth, full of anger, stood up and looked straight at the man who's flesh was rotting, but said nothing. "Oh yes. We came here for you," the undead man continued, "We're here because of you, all these people died because of you. It's your fault..." he hissed. Seth screamed, and suddenly, tattoos lit in blue appeared on his skin, a bright light emerged in the basement. The light dimmed and he was gone.

Seth, heartbroken with regret and shame, was teleported towards a nearby woods by his village. He saw the flames and the purple haze that has drowned the village. He looked at himself, shining blue, wondering what happened. He knew he used magic, but it seemed that he still can't cast anything, even though the runes were alit. He was angered by his lack of power, and he started walking away for the village. As he traveled for the next three years, he remembered what his mother said. "Find the Shield.". Shield...Shield...Aegis.
