Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): War; it is something that has devoured my life, for I was born in Aegis. To be more exact I was born four years before the fall of Oren, I still remember that dreadful day, at four years old I could barely hold a dagger but I wanted to fight, my dad was a city guard, convinced me to leave with my mother while he stayed behind to defend Al'Khazar to the death. Thus I learned to hate the undead, my first but not last enemy. As we fled the city I could hear the screams of the people being slaughtered there, I did not look back for I feared the worst. With the heat of the burning city on our backs my mother said that the dwarven city of Kal'Urguan was the safest place to go and she took me there. Along the way an orc war-band spotted us and, dismayed and angered by the undead advance they attempted to take their anger out on us, as they approached my mother bid me to run away and that Kal'Urguan was only two days away so I ran. Now behind me I heard my mother's screams and the orcs muffled laughter. And thus came my second hatred, orcs. And so I lost both of my parents. But that time I had with my family was not in vain for I am a quick learner and they taught me the ways of justice and faith and to do what is right, whether I like it or not. Those two nights along the road were the longest I can remember, since we were among the last to escape the city I saw no one along the road. If I was not worrying about the undead, it would be wolves or some other dark creature stalking the road.
When I entered the outer city I was half starving and tired and there were many refugees that took camp there. There was an old dwarf that was tending to the other refugees then approached me and asked if I traveled with anyone and when I responded with a no he seemed to take pity on me. He asked me many things and seemed to like me, I thought he talked funny, he then asked if I would like to live with him, because I had no place to go. I accepted, what else were I to do? The dwarfs name was Baldrik Stonefist and he said he was 512 years old! I spent much of my childhood in that city. Many of the human refugees left to join the new human nations, but I remained. I learned a lot about the dwarven culture and maybe the most important was learning how to fight, with both a sword and the dwarf's favorite weapon, the axe. I became skilled with the sword and by the age of 14 I killed my first undead, that was a glorious day. I learned much in that city, I loved to study with my face in books, I learned a lot about the lands and its denizens. I learned of blacksmithing and how to make the best weapons and armor. Baldrik taught me that sometimes justice must be served on the edge of a sword and I should fight for what I believe in, he reminded me of my father a lot. But my experiences in Kal'Urguan were cut short because the undead were on the march again, they attacked the city and in no time it was rubble! We were forced to evacuate and take a portal made by the Wandering Wizard to the Verge soon after.
As we reached the ships docked there Baldrik said that I should join my people, the humans! This was one of the biggest surprises of my life; I thought they would want me to be with them. But I trusted Baldrik and he was a wise dwarf, I knew it was for the best. Once I boarded the human ship I was met with suspicious eyes so I decided to stay in a corner until they got used to me. It was a little bit before a man walked up to me, he said he was a member of the Renatus military and a friend of the dwarves. His name was John and asked if I would like to join him once we leave the ship, I accepted. Along the way we spoke of the human civil war, it all fascinated me. The ride was rough and I was relieved once I got there, but I also heard tragic news, Baldrik died! He died in his sleep of old age, he lived to be 534 years old. News of the event horrified me but we both knew it was coming sooner or later. Some of the dwarves and I gave him a good funeral and I wept at his death. All this was done quickly as I had to move along with John. This new land they called Asulon, it was very strange, no one had been to this land that we know of and now we have to settle here! John and his family traveled with the rest of the refugees to the newly made town, Arethor. They bought a house and that is where I remained for many years as a blacksmith to the Renatus military. I am now 28 and I wish to explore the world beyond the world of blacksmithing and show the world what I am capable of.
