Dominion of Saladin, Autumn 1140.

Winter was coming, and military campagins were wearing down. The troops gained from the annexation of Arabia and Persia are told to stand down and return to their home lives. However since Saladin's territories were in the desert, Winter would only be affecting Some lands. The Army of Saladin made another push to take more land, to take all of Southern Turkey, all the way to the sea. After this, Saladin's troops would be playing defensively. 4,000 of Saladin's men are sent to Siege Myra, The main city in Southern Turkey. 2,000 are also sent to take Attalia. This means Half of the Invading army is now back, Seiging cities. Meanwhile the rest of the troops are told to play defensive, and start building palisades around their camps, using nearby Lumber. With Food sent in by the turks, they should be kept content. If they started to starve, villages could always be pillaged..

In The Coastal Cities, Trade is continued towards Naples, and more trade cogs are being built. With new trade luxuries from Persia and Arabia, many more routes opened. Also, Venice's offer is graciously accepted, However Saladin told the garrisons of his cities and those at Home to stay vigilant and be careful in case they may pull off a betrayal, However this is kept secret and is not noticeable and quite minor.

Half of the Garrisons in most cities are halved as well, to keep the economy prosperous. 

A trade offer is sent to the Kingdom of Hungary, as its great food could help for war.

Dominion of Saladin, Early Fall 1140.

Saladin Smiled. With The Great Byzantium at its knee's and Saladin's almost complete domination of the Middle East, It might be time to call it a day for Military, as Winter was setting in. He Decided to withdraw his troops. He is Informed of the Campaign in Iberia, And feels this would strain supplies immensely. Saladin had gained much. Armenia, Arabia, and Persia. In Armenia, with the people obviusly being resilient, Parties and Feasts are held to impress the populace, and Churches or any cultural identity is not destroyed in the attack. Knowing that the Winter would not affect his Armies too much, Orders are made to Make Turkey collapse on its knees.

The new recruits from earlier, at about 5,000, are sent up to Armenia to help in the Offensive.  These troops were: 1,000 Mamluq's, 1,000 Camel Archers, 500 Horse Archers, 3,500 Infantry men and 2,000 Archers. Saladin then Leads a Full-Force Attack on Southern Turkey. The villages are terrified by the stomping of hooves by the Mamluq's, who Quickly sieze land in Southern Turkey, Advancing up to Myra. (Just above and to the right of Rhodes on the map). MOD, NEEDED!

Also Meanwhile in Arabia and Persia, Trade starts to flow through from Baghdad, and Pilgrimages are made to Mecca, This new influx of trade should help to stabilise the  Arabian Economy. Letters are Also sent out to Nations,

The Dominion of Saladin, Early Summer 1140.

The campaign in Armenia has now been stabilized, with Saladin's Army playing it defensively. The food from The Italians Was sent to the Northern Border of Saladin's Dominion, With half of the food being sent to the Army. He knew that soon, The Byzantines would arrive. When the food from Italy was to arrive, Some of it should be given to the Starving Armenian Villages, If they swore loyalty to Saladin. Also, Now that the Harvest was collected, It would mean it would be easier for Saladin's Army, However he orders not too much food to be going out to the Army, as his people at home must also be filled and happy. Meanwhile at the Royal Court of Damascus, Happenings are afoot.    The Soldiers he had ordered to start training in Spring were almost complete, This would number at around 10,000 men in total, Which is: 1,000 Mamluq's 1,000 Camel Archers 500 Horse Archers 3,500 Infantry 2,000 Archers 2,000 Sailors, Designed for Raiding Other Nations.   The shipyards also churn out about 10 war-cogs and 5 trade-galleys, To help in the war effort.    

To Naples:

We thank you for the food, It shall help us immensely in our campaign. In return, I will be sending over 5 war-cogs into your port at sicily, to use at your disposal. Once again we thank you in assisting us in this war effort. 

To Byzantium: 

 

Dear Byzantine King, I will cease all attacks on you, if you withdraw your borders out of Southern Turkey. If this is done, I will agree towards peace, which would let you focus on the Europeans.

Saladin's men, having gained all of eastern and most of central armenia, now start to play defensively.

Saladin buys a lot of food from neighbouring nations, and transports it to his army along with 1,000 new spearmen and 250 Mamluq's to bolster Saladin's force, along with weaponry to help.

The peasantry in villages quickly surrender, having hardly any food since the Armenians have practically destroyed their own food sources. 

Trade ships from Naples Bring back more food to aid in the war effort, however some of the harvest is kept for the peoples. Some of saladin's men begin to hunt and forage to aid the need for supplies.

A letter is sent to Naples:

"Freind, I ask that you send over food, to help me in my invasion of Byzantium. With all of us put together, we can take down this Byzantine menace.

Saladin replies to the Seljuks

"Excellent freind. I am currently playing it defensively, however I ask you train up an army to help us rid the byzantines from turkey, as we can pull of a hammer and anvil attack.

A letter is sent to Bulgaria

"Please keep your hands out of this one. We have no grudges, and maybe if you help us instead you could be gaining plenty of land for yourself."

Dominion of Saladin, 1140.

Many happenings have occured around Europe. Also, Saladin gives out many more orders to re-act accordingly to the regional happenings.

Saladin, upon hearing of Armenia flat-out ignoring the vassalization request and moving to Byzantium, He grits his teeth.

"Well, we will have to show these armenians whats business, eh?" 

Saladin calls in his general, giving him orders.

"Send word to The Mamluq's that we are to be raising an army, The seljuks have been doing nothing so far, but I fear that Byzantium will be wanting to re-gain its lost lands in Turkey, which we must be stopping. Continue negiotiating with the Almohads though, It is just In military terms, Byzantium will have to take first priority. We need to get an army going while the harvest is plentiful."

Saladin now has 2 choices, to take out Armenia quickly, but wage war on Byzantium, or to take their islands off them and play a slow war, or to take North Africa.

Send a letter to the Seljuks of Rum. (MOD NEEDED)

"Dear Seljuk freind. Your nation is in peril from Byzantium attack. I strongly advise that we discuss a defense and attack plan to drive the Byzantines out of Turkey, and also that we declare friendship. If this is not done, then both of us probably will lose our chances and may be losing land."

(MOD NEEDED HERE TOO)Meanwhile, Saladin's Plan now plays out, 3,500 camel archers, 5,000 Mamluq's, 15,000 Infantry and 7,000 archers launch an invasion of Armenia. The gold and weaponry from The cyprus raid has helped him to fuel this attack.

Saladin withdraws his fleet from Cyprus, returning his men to Tyre to rest and recooperate. However, A Fleet of 15 war ships lands on Armenia's coast, catching them offgaurd and doing a 2-pronged attack. The men on the fleet are:

900 men in total:

500 Infantry,

300 Archers

50 Camel Archers

50 Mamluq's

Hopefully Armenia would fall under this pressure, and with the Byzantines being distracted. If not, a bigger army would be on the way..

Saladin sits in his palace at Damascus, having received many letters and returns from countries, he gives orders to write back to his Governor in Egypt, and give out some orders to his army.

"Send a Letter to the Sultan Al-Salah, Scribe."

The letter reads:

Dear Sultan al-Salah, Your idea I do approve of, but as I am tied up in affairs in the Holy Land, I give you permission to negotiate with the Almohads, and also to resolve this Schism between Sunni and Shia. Also, I am planning to annex Armenia into our lands, and commit a raid on Cyprus, while keeping the turks bolstered from the expansionist Byzantines. However, My army right now should be enough, but if you could send a few Mamluq's which you have spare, it would be very helpful. 

A quick letter is then also sent to Naples, Stating: 

Dear King Flavius, as I write this letter I am sending trade-ships over to your city to initiate the trade, I shall be sending over some Incense, Spice, sesames and apricot, And gold. I hope this trade will benefit both our nations.

Meanwhile, 3 ships leave from the city of tyre, embarking to cyprus, They are loaded with 100 mamluq's, and 300 foot soldiers. They land in the cyprus countryside, and pillage the area around the cities, looting all in their path. No major cities are targeted.

Also, If you wish to attack the Almohads, take in mind that I also have my eyes set on this region as well. Perhaps we could compromise, Yes? 

A letter is sent to the Kingdom of Hungary, stating

 Dear Esteemed King of Hungary, I write to you to propose a friendship, as we are both near the Byzantines and un-aware of what they may pull of, but with this friendship, We can threaten these Byzantines and make them think twice of attacking us, Yes? 

A letter is also sent to Armenia, Stating:

 Dear Armenian King. You are threatened on by 3 big empires, and you face annihilation. But I have an offer. Vassalazation into my Dominion. You will be protected by my armies, and your religions and culture will be tolerated and you will remain autonomy. I will make you a high advisor of mine, and my daughter can marry into your family to sweeten the deal.

Work on Ships continue, But no army recruitment is being done for now, not until supplies are ready.

The Farmers of the Nile delta return to work, harvesting on its fertile lands, This is also happening in the Fertile Crescent controlled by Saladin, and in Palestine, Syria and the Holy Land. Normal Every-year farming.

Saladin orders for a navy to be built to have more of a regional influence, and ships are to be built in Alexandria, Tyre, and other coastal cities.

Saladin also moves his army up to his northern border, to secure himself from the remaining crusader kingdoms and the Turks.

Basically I would like the hat removed, and instead replaced with a dark-chestnut sort of brown hair.
