The Junshou and his many advisers and councilors listened attentively to the many details brought forth from the scouts. Though Imana was truly mighty in its own right, the possibility of favorable trade terms and defense networks within this so called Prosperity Sphere was quite intriguing. No doubt, such a bloc of power would be a formidable foe. Along side this, such terms would likely rid Imana of it's current instability as economic and trade growth could be facilitated under peaceful terms.

The scouts leave the parliamentary building at the bidding of the Junshou. After a vote of 129:21, it is decided that Imana would partake in such activities. An official document with the governmental seal of Imana is delivered to the scouts as they are sent off back to the coast under armed guard. Its contents include wishing to meet in more formal terms such as with civilian state officials from both nations. During this meeting the terms to entering this prosperity sphere would be worked out. Until then, Imana awaits the arrival of the Kuanese.

With the completion of the national trade hub and its assorted posts across the country, the Imanese stake in world trade is greatly expanded. However, recent reports from Imanese settlers were troubling. It seemed that Andor's borders were closer then expected. More troubling, was the expansion of foreign islanders into the continent. Small Imanese expeditionary forces report that both settlements seemed quite new, under populated, and most;y based around mercantile interests. Neighbors on their home continent expanding was one thing, the expansion of foreign islanders onto the motherland was a completely different story. Imana would keep a close eye on these fledgling settlements. Any more aggressive expansion would merit strangling the colonies.

In other news, colonial efforts into the vast hinterland proves successful. With borders growing closer, Imana would need more official channels to communicate with their neighbor Andor. Thus, a trade pact is extended to the republic via diplomatic envoys.

News of a foreign scouting group was most peculiar but not completely unforeseen. While Imana lacked official diplomatic ties with its surrounding neighbors, trade was still facilitated. Through this, they received news of on going worldly events. The near constant trickle of island immigrants often brought news of what was known to be the nation of Kuanesh, though knowledge of the nation was still lacking. When the foreign scouts docked in the port city of Haumi, the local army garrison along with city officials soon arrived to meet them. After a brief exchange they found that these soldiers spoke Islander. Upon the arrival of an immigrant interpreter, the scout force was led off under the watchful eye of Imanese soldiers and sent to the capital via railroad. News spreads like wild fire, many seeing this as a sign that Imana would pursue open relations with its neighbors.

Upon entering the capital city of Mimori the scout force is greeted by the site of vast industrial complexes of the city. They are taken to the Grand Palace, finally meeting the Junshou and his council within the parliamentary building. His voice cutting through the air like a knife, Junshou Iwamori Qin Xi spoke.

"Good evening my most esteemed guests. I hope my fair city has treated you well. I am most apologetic about the rather long ride on the locomotive, but the coast is quite far from the capital as you have seen. As our guests we would love to show you around our grand state, but there are more pressing matters to attend to. Your arrival has caused quite a stir, and more good reason. We have had only the bare minimum of contact with outside nations, and yours is the first to directly contact us for anything other then handing off trade goods. So speak of what you've come for, there is plenty to say." Though his accent was perhaps a bit thick, it would do for now. He had no wish for silly things like translators anyways.

With the arrival of foreign scouts, a shifting attitude among the common folk could be witnessed. Imana was not alone in this large and dangerous world, and so would need further protection. It no longer sufficed to simply shut itself from the worlds view. Instead, Imana would need to build a basis on which to stand, a grand army.

Training of the Imanaese Army continues throughout the nation. jungle warfare is heavily emphasized for a portion of the army.

Both the need for more land and resources was a driving factor in Imana's expansion policy. But effectively maintaining the dense jungles and wetlands would be difficult without a proper military presence.

    Invention Type (Military/Civilian/Etc): Military
    Invention Name: Sokukyo
    Inventor: Iro Yamaguchi
Description (At least a DETAILED paragraph):
Due to a need for both a better way to traverse the vast jungle wetland of Truncatis' interior and a way to propel Imana's land capabilities, Ishikawa Motor Industries was directed to develop such a vehicle under strict regulations and parameters. The Sokukyo is fitted with medium density plating, 70 mm canon, a secondary turret, specialized treads, and an assortment of equipment within the interior. Coupling speed, mobility, and firepower, the Sokukyo would be a deadly force within the interior.

To the east of the continent known as Truncatis lay the ancient lands of Imana. Imana’s emergence into the annals of history can be split into three sections; the Warring States Period, the Heian Period, and the Turmoil Period. With the births of new civilizations came countless city states who each vowed for control. Those who populated these cities were descendents of a wave of Sino-Japanese immigrants that had arrived some centuries ago, as well as native Latin Americans who the immigrants assimilated into their ranks. For over three hundred years the city states fought for control of resources and political strength. Though they had arrived by sea, the constant warfare amongst their neighbors soon caused a focus into land warfare causing even coastal states to develop mere transports and trade vessels while weaponization was advanced. Roughly around 1000 AN, these warring city states saw themselves slowly absorbed one by one by a state known as Imana. The General-King Ashikaga Xi victoriously led a rapid campaign of expansion throughout the region until Imana held hegemony over every last city state. Thus ended the Age of Warfare, and in came the Age of Peace.

The Heian Period ushered in a new age of unification, peace, and prosperity. The monarchy under the Xi Dynasty saw an expansion in trade, advancements in technology, and the dismantlement of loyalty to ones city and instead was focused onto Imana itself. Neo-Confucian values coupled with old world Shinto principles set roots deeply into the state, and the officials were picked through their understanding of such policies. The Junshou, Imana’s equivalent to a king, was advised by his privy council made up of state educated nobility. While internally all was peaceful, the era did not see a complete secession of hostilities. Often times, foreign raiding parties from neighboring regions within the dense jungles would emerge speaking strange tongues and wearing odd cross-like pendants. Skirmishes were common, but Imana would learn to grow accustom to jungle warfare. This era saw a further deterioration of proper naval advancements; only ships concerning trade or transportation of troops would ever be made. The sea was seen more of a way to acquire food and currency, not a place for battle. But nothing could ever stay as it was, for soon came the Era of Instability.

The Turmoil Period first began in 1250 AN. After a century and a half of general peace and prosperity, people that spoke a strange but similar tongue came to the shores of Imana in droves. With them they brought odd religions, languages, and ideas. Many originated in the western isles of which Imana had little knowledge of. They were at first looked upon with guarded eyes but soon the native Imana looked on with fear. The stability of the realm was fraying at the seams as these west islanders’ flooded cities and towns, demanding rights and freedoms of which the Imana had never taken part of. Ever so slowly, while the nation industrialized, tensions simmered among the new arrivals and Imana. The nation was weakened with these foreign influences but it would live on. It hoped.

    ---===---

    Present

Junshou Iwamori Qin Xi sat within the throne room of the Grand Palace, located in the nations capital of Mimori. An hour ago he had tended to his court of advisers who once more discussed the issues that faced the realm. Iwamori's father, his grandfather, and countless other monarchs had sat in the same situation for close to two centuries. "All because of some immigrants.." thought the lord with a frown. But he was determined to make a mark in history, the Xi Dynasty had not been given a heavenly decree to rule Imana for nothing after all. And so he set forth drafting documents late into that star lit night.

A decree with the royal seal is sent forth declaring for the immediate construction of trade posts (-25,000 Kichi) across the nation. He would not sit idle while gold flowed. The national currency known as Kichi is further propagated through the realm as construction begins.

The Imanan army begins key reforms to once again bolster the nations defenses. Recruitment is maintained throughout the state. In the following years the military would be broken into subgroups but for now 25,000 troops are sent for specialized training.

    IJA_Korean.jpg

In an effort to boost moral among the citizenry, Iwamori broadcasts a speech via the radio.

"Citizens of our fair nation, here me! We have endured a great hardship through these past years, and each one of you have been effected on a personal level. But today, we will rise from our stupor, out of this fog of unease, and rebirth into a shining realm! Let us once more rise to prominence! Glory to Imana!"

And with that, the broadcast ends. Iwamori sniffed. He was never one for good speeches, no matter how much divine blood he had.

As the Junshou returned to his royal court, a messenger bursts through the door. A paper is thrust into his hands by the red faced man who now rasped for breath. On the paper was written a comprehensive report of strange new arrivals. Arrivals that were armed and looked what could only be described as "grunt like" in their military uniforms. It seemed that for once, non-immigrant related business had arrived by sea. Odd news indeed. This would be attended to soon enough.

From his office in Cairo,  head chairman Sedki Enan sat at his desk, over looking the city before him. He had brought the Arab world from a desperate struggle to one of peaceful cooperation. The scenario in the southern provinces had alarmed him, but Allah had brought forth a proposition to avoid war; a peace summit would be held in Lagos. The general packed his things and took the elevator to the first floor. Outside, a government vehicle waited to take him to Cairo International Airport where several aids waited to travel with him. There was still hope.

    Some Time Later

Peace talks had gone quite slowly, to say the least. The only eventful happening that had resulted so far was the settlement of Middle Eastern issues, which Enan found funny seeing as the summit was expressly for the rising tension in Africa. In any case, a temporary cease fire had been called in Iran as negotiations were on going. Seeing this as a likely end to the Iranian conflict, the 100,000 man army returns to the motherland for a well earned rest. Constant combat and movement had worn the soldiers down and they would gladly take some time for leave.

In a show of sincerity, Federation soldiers are very slowly pulled from the Commonwealth defensive line and returned back to their original stations. It was Federal hopes that further deescalation would occur on both sides.

With what was seen as a betrayal by the Bulgarians, public out cry was high, demanding intervention for their ally in Anatolia. A force of 100,000 fresh troops accompanied by various armored divisions march their way to Turkey, in case assistance was needed. The Federation naval fleet is put on high alert, ready to come to the aid of their Turkish brethren if Greco-Bulgarian scum posed a threat. To the eastern coast, the TRAC fleet was eyed with distaste, even with peace talks under way. Coastal defenses lay in the way if they thought to break the peace.

In domestic affairs, the green energy endeavor continues, supplying thousands of jobs with it. To the dismay of Egyptian officials however, like those in Arabia, the oilfields were producing less and less. Even worse, the largest source of untapped reserves had just been discovered in literally another hemisphere. The push for green energy persists.

After some time, the highly complex bureaucracy of the Federation had finally centralized their intelligence agency, forming the General Intelligence Directorate of GID. Extensive training of spies and cyber divisions begin. Agents are placed throughout the populace, and many from former Sudanese operations are sent to foreign soil. the Commonwealth, UK, Iberia, and assorted African nations are prime targets due to their multi-ethnic backgrounds. For now, they would work to gain nominal roles in government positions, carefully watching. Counter intelligence would also be covered by the GID though foreign agents would find it hard cracking the shell to a highly stratocratic government.

Mauritania, Eritrea, and Djibouti, all former members of the now dissolved Arab League, are sent an offer to join the Arab Federation. The Federation was a highly dependable conglomerate who facilitated increases in trade and domestic supplies, and could rightly defend its states. The relatively sparsely populated nations, and in the case of Eritrea and Djibouti, rather small nations, would find the Federation to be a united force against outside influences. On top of similar cultural ties and same religion, they had also received large amounts of aid prior. [Mod plz]

In the wake of Japan's successful moon landing, countless citizens looked on in awe, many wishing for a renewed look into space. Thankfully, this coincided with the Islamic alliance's hope for more prestige on the world stage. Combing the likes of Turkish, Moroccan, Egyptian, and several other state space agencies, the Pan-Arab Space Research Agency, or PASRA, is founded. The combination of pooled human and material resources would greatly aid the Muslims in their space effort. PASRA's first mission, more of a celebratory matter, was the launching of IslamSat 1, a satellite that would replace the aging EgyptSat series. [Time from Mod plz]

The arid Saharan sand swept across what was termed to be no-mans land. What little life had long retreated as artillery shells and missiles pocked the land with craters, soon cover once more by sand. The virtual stalemate in the air had led to a stand still on the ground, troops milling about in their defensive positions. The only activity on the scene were the constant missile barrages emitted from hundreds of mobile launchers, hitting the oppositions armies every few minutes. Surprisingly, the Accord's build up spilled over an estimated 600,000, though moving such a large army over the desert would be unlikely. Any sort of offensive that moved large divisions would be slow and painful, equally to both sides.

After much deliberation high command orders for troops to with draw slightly northwards towards a better, far more dependable position in and around the Tibesti mountains. HFAA turrerts, artillery, and MLRS's line the defensive line like virtual barriers, and continue to make the Saharan Divide a no-mans land, neither side able to push forward. Missile bombardment halts for the time being, a cease fire having been enacted. Defoliants and herbicides are sent to their positions in crates.

With the return of troops formerly committed to the Middle Eastern front, a review of personnel and military matters is conducted. Since the first days of Federation establishment, Fortifications and coastal batteries had been built throughout each nation that served under Federal guidance. Since then, anti air guns had also been positioned in order to defend national interests. The Arabs had constructed a fortress dedicated to the defense of their ideals and the people that held them. Across the union of states, soldiers were garrisoned and drilled heavily, the mastery of war their goal. Notable forces set up in Morocco. Factories in the mainland turned out hundreds of thousands of UEDI-Islamic jointly created armor, equipping the ever growing armed forces, shipments from Germany supplementing equipment as well. Roughly less then a quarter of the improved heavy armor are manufactured and equipped by soldiers due to their resource intense nature. TAI TFX production continues, while German made polish stealth tanks arrive to her allies. Factories and shipyards grow their output, foreseeing a long coming large scale war. Small divisions begin to be stationed in South Israel.

In observation of the declining earths resources, any way to cut down on energy spending and increasing energy production is searched for. Based on Morocco's largest wind farms on the continent, Algeria's expansive solar fields, and various African nations geothermal plants, Sedki Enan drafts a bill that details the Federation plan to take advantage of Africa's position in green energy potential. Thousands of wind farms and solar energy fields begin construction as surveyors look for suitable areas for geothermal reactors. At the same time, drilling of oil increases tenfold, the country wishing to grasp at every drop it could.

The state of unity in the Arab Federation was astoundingly high; relatively similar languages and dialects, as well as cultures and religion contributing highly. However, this was not to say that the Arabs left out those who held different backgrounds. Religious tolerance is held high among society and the government, as seen to the accommodation Jewish and Christian households in Israel. Throughout the country, every citizen was valued, although those who caused upheaval were perhaps seen in a lower view.

A rare interview with the head of state Sedki Enan is held, likely in response to the Commonwealth's scathing accusations. Broadcast live to several networks including MENA, the general sat in a simple crisp suit while the interviewer sorted through several papers. The interview begins with the question of what goals the state aimed for. Smiling with bleach white teeth, he answers.
"As you know, we wish to bring peace and stability to the region, and have been mostly successful. Our general plan is to expand our industrial centers to accommodate for jobs in this growing nation, while also increasing energy out put in the form of renewable sources. Our once oppressed brothers and sisters have joined in shared unity, spreading our good will among the region. Without the help of our friends in Europe or the Middle East however, we would never have been able to make it this far."
Nodding, the interviewer moves on, questioning how the Afrikan Commonwealth have accused the Federation of annexing Sudan. With a huff, Enan addresses the question.
"It has always been under the interests of the Federation to reach out to other, less fortunate nations. This was the case in Sudan, who's government had brought the unfortunate people of Sudan nothing but death and misfortune. Their corrupt government had let numerous human rights violations occur while also falling to civil war. They were not fit to hold the mantle of responsibility. We stepped in on humanitarian grounds in order to bring stability to the nation, and will continue to do so. As proof, look at Sudan now; it is a prosperous nation filled with industry, hospitals, schools, clean drinking water, and various other infrastructural improvements. Improvements funded by the Federation, carried out by the Federation. This holds true for every nation that joins our union. But may I bring the public's attention to the supposedly peaceful democratic Commonwealth."
At these words the general's feature become creased, becoming a frown.
"The very state that promised peace, the commonwealth, first acted in aggression when amassing its army at our border. We retaliate to defend our nation, and give forth simple terms. Yet they declare a full war, pulling in various nations, and have now brought the region to the brink of total war. Now, they encourage violent uprisings in an other wise peaceful area, all to further their cause of expansion. Look, people of Africa, open your eyes! This commonwealth is nothing but a farce, a ruse, to take your resources and to use it for violence! If this is a truly democratic union, surely, they would release you from their grip? Unshackle yourselves from this regime, for we the Federation will support every one of you who seeks the freedom they deserve. Every step they take towards war will be matched by us and our allies."
The interview fades into inky blackness, announcing its end.

    ----==----
The Federal administrative area of Sudan becomes abuzz with government activity as Islamic troops accompany military police in quelling any sort of rebellious sentiment. Ring leaders are detained by MP's in the dead of night, while government plants rat out huge networks of Commonwealth planted insurgencies. While a mere western corner of Sudan is even forested, Commonwealth special forces continue to elude authorities. Intense searches become common in the area, while borders are locked down to keep everyone equally from getting in or out.
A large scale propaganda campaign begins across the nation to firmly bring public opinion under the Federation and against the commonwealth and Accord. Broadcasts, posters, and leaflets scatter cities, depicting Commonwealth soldiers raiding their fellow unionized nations of their resources with weapons raised at a woman and her child.
Aid is sent to several nations, primarily South Sudan, Mauritania, Eritrea, Djibouti, and Somalia in hopes of swaying the nations towards possibly aiding the Federation. Djibouti, Mauritania, and Somalia, all three former Arab League members before its dissolution are hoped to be more receptive, while aid to Eritrea and South Sudan are primarily due to their previous disastrous conflicts. Aid is also sent to the Congo in hopes of combating the growing Commonwealth influence.

The development of the Federation's new heavy armor finishes with tests returning as the armor begins production. The climate controlled heavy armor enhances the wearers strength and cognitive abilities, while at a slight disadvantage of also slowing the wearer. With the facilitated technology trading between the UEDI and Islamic states, Federation forces also begin to manufacturer the lighter variant of advanced armor, meant more for tactical side of the Federation's armies. The advanced armor is also sent to the Caliphate and Turkey as per agreement.

    ----==----

Hard fought and highly trained, 200,000 soldiers are classed as top tier, many making up tactical divisions for special operation. The continued state of perpetual war and heavy training has led to a generation of the most ferocious fighting forces the continent had ever seen. These soldiers are the first to be outfitted with newly developed advanced armor technology and are deployed back into the waiting armies north of Chad and Niger. Several tactical scouting teams meant to intercept and harass any inferiorly armed forces are sent forth into the Sahara desert.

General Sedki Enan sat in his war room, a live feed of current happenings televised before him and his fellow officers. It appeared that TRAC were landing more and more men every day on the African continent, each ready to kill. However, rather peculiar was the fact that they all seemed to pile up in the desert. Surely, such a large army, especially with soldiers from foreign states lacking experience in such terrain, could not last long. Attrition would take them with heat stroke and lack of supplies in all likelihood. Unlike the foolish TRAC, the Arabs were well supplied and spread to account for supply limits. Further more, Arab supply trains could easily reach the stationed armies, while TRAC forces had to cross by sea to first get to the continent its self. The Africans would starve trying to feed them all. Why did they think the nations they had unionized retained such small militaries in the first place. And if intel served to be correct, they were even deploying tactical troops meant for the jungle into the middle of the desert. It was as if they had never even seen a map. The entrenched forces had merely set up their position on steppe grasslands, perhaps the most open area one could be in.

Never the less, even with TRAC backing, the Commonwealth and her allies would soon face real threats, namely the giants that made up the Islamic Caliphates alliance webs.

The situation within Chad and Niger seemed to suddenly become quieter as bombers are pulled from the area, the enemy's anti air guns having reportedly shot down a few on the last air raid. Fighters are more reluctant to back down however, the firth generation TAI TFX battle the skies against the newly developed opposition jets. They too are also soon grounded. Newly built HFAA turrets and Iron Dome variants soon arrive and line the entrenched position, replacing old Egyptian versions. The air now remains contested, any plane from either side risking obliteration by either forces anti air guns. Mobile rocket systems are put into heavy use to counter this, and bombardments resume in due haste. Thousands will likely die with each hit, the commonwealth and her allies lacking advanced anti missile systems unlike Federation forces. A direct battle between the opposing armies is unlikely to occur in the foreseeable future, no land gains occur as such. If alone, Commonwealth victory was seen as unlikely, 300,000 of their 500,000 strong armed forces being made up of newly recruited soldiers having never seen violence.

The line represents the defensive line, while dots represent tactical teams.

German supplies are accepted and a missive of thanks is sent back. The Federation sends word that they were ready to back the Germans, and expected such to be reciprocated.

    ----==----

The production of defoliants and herbicides begin en mass, and are sent out to front line forces.

A diplomatic envoy is sent to Morocco (Mods) requesting that they join the Arab Federation as many other of their Islamic Arab brothers had. With their arrival into the fold, many markets would open for the Moroccan people, and imperialist abroad would be repelled by Arab cooperation.

Soldiers stood about, looking upon the dead and dying Saudi soldiers. They had for some ungodly reason decided to charge head on into a force not only superior in numbers, but also in supplies and weaponry. Further more, upon inspection, the Kaaba was in ruins. The shocking explosions that had decimated an Egyptian column when first entering Mecca came to mind. The soldiers chalk it up as damage from the rigged explosion within the city and several others. Word that Arabian forces had destroyed Islam's most holiest of icons soon spreads. No words could properly describe the rage felt in every Muslim as this news reached them. Soon enough, Arabian POWs were rounded up and slaughtered for the disgrace they had caused upon the land. Not a single one would make it, and the stench of rotting corpses soon filled pits dug by those who lay in them.

Mean while on the coast, hundreds of thousands of civilians boarded ships and embarked, heading for distant lands. With them, were oil laden cargo ships filled to the brim with as much as they could carry. The Saudis perhaps thinking they could escape without notice, soon found that modern technology would be their undoing.  Cargo ships and the Arabian fleet are targeted by bombers, while the Federation navy mopping up the rest. About a quarter of the oil carrying cargo ships make it their destination while the rest either sink or are captured by Federation forces. The Federation fleet returns with the heavy liquid cargo, bombers harassing the Iranian navy that arrives shortly after. A majority of the refugee ships arrive in India, having not been targeted due to being marked as simply a drain to resources. India now carried the responsibility of feeding and housing hundreds of thousands of mouths in an already over population nation.

Drones and submersibles are quickly dealt with, the old diesel subs however are able to sink several coastal craft before themselves being sunk. Anti air turrets, in combination with Egyptian and German air units, make quick work of the battered Saudi planes.
The southern expeditionary force are deemed fit to be permanently be stationed in the Hejaz region. Consolidation of power in the area begins. Workers arrive en mass to begin reconstruction of bombed out areas.

    Israel

The Israelis had fought a brave war, but had ultimately lost in the face of Islamic superiority. However, this bravery did merit a great deal of respect, respect that Egypt had already harbored for the small yet powerful nation. Israel had simply been caught up in a conflict which ultimately led to their unwanted war with Egypt. As such, all Israeli citizens are declared rightful citizens of the Federation. upon entering the city of Jerusalem, a missive arrives to the head of command, from the Caliph himself.

"As reward for their instrumental work in defeating the Jewish state which had unrightfully plagued our lands for many years, I place all territory south and west of the West Bank up to and including Tel Aviv, with the exception of the holy city of Jerusalem, under the administrative hands of the Caliphate's loyal servants, the Arab Federation. And as an act of mercy upon the infidels, I shall grant them one week of safe passage in which to move their belongings and homes to the aforementioned area, where I swear upon my father and his father, they shall not be harmed. So let it be done, and may all who defy the Caliphate tremble at our footsteps! Allahu Akbar!"
    -Caliph Ibrahim

Papers and criers soon scatter throughout throughout what was to become caliphate controlled territory, spreading the word that all Jewish and other minorities likely to be persecuted are welcome to Federation controlled territory. Seeing the Federation as a beacon of moderate Islam, and hoping to escape tyranny, thousands flock to lower Israel, Egypt, and other regions. Research terms guarded by armed tactical troops make their way through the various military and engineer wings of Israeli government buildings, winding and weaving through their assortment of bureaucratic information. Detailed blue prints for the Iron Dome and its variants are found, along with several other sought after technologies. The process of reconstruction begins in the newly acquired territory.

A southern Israel based army is stationed in the region, while the 400,000 soldiers return to the homeland. The 200,000 formerly fighting Arabian troops in the interior follow Caliphate and Turkish divisions to the new Iranian front.

    Central Africa

The rather sudden unification of central Africa's states had bugged General Enan, so much so that a force of 450,000 soldiers, 2,000 tanks, 3,500 AFVs, artillery pieces, and rocket systems are positioned at the border. Their expansion into the Federations perceived sphere of influence would not be tolerated. to prevent mobilization by the commonwealth to counter this army, the army is marched in haste into Chad and Niger in a pronged attack, occupying the region. Border forces are quickly overwhelmed as the army marches south. As they continue, a diplomatic envoy is sent to the commonwealth.
"The Arab Federation, in an effort to minimize casualties on both sides, duely seeks peace for the good of your people. However, incursions into nations which within our sphere of influence will not be tolerated. There for, the Arab Federation offers these terms: Pull out form the nations of Niger and Chad, releasing them as sovereign nations. Failure to do so will result in an immediate declaration of total war. -Sedki Enan"

As the army moves further south, elements of the newly formed Commonwealth's army are seen. Soon, Arab Federation bombers fill the sky along side fighters, raining down explosives. Mobile rocket systems unleash further destruction. The two pronged attack would slam against the encroaching African army with tanks and AFV's leading the spearhead. Both outnumbering and outgunning the opposition would likely prove to bring favorable odds.

All was mostly quiet at the Suez canal, the stationed divisions standing around, glad to be away from the front lines. However, the sudden eruption of radio chatter broke the peace. They were informed by a naval officer that transport ships were incoming. When asked to identify them, word came that they were... American? The Federation navy was put on stand by and the Suez army mobilized. Soon, the Americans arrived at the canal and the commanding officer hailed the land force. The confused operator asks their business, to which the officer replies "We are here to aid you, our Arabian allies." Everyone stared at the ships. These Americans had actually thought that Saudi Arabia held the canal, and not only this, but mistook Egyptian troops for Arabians.

Rather awkwardly, the transports are let through. As they make their way towards the entrance, the Federation navy opens fire. The ensuing "battle" sinks half of the ships while the rest are boarded after the surrender of the US soldiers. As coastal craft buzz around picking up stranded US sailors in the ocean, the commanding officer is brought to face the general of the Suez division. He is informed that unfortunately, they would not be making the trip to Riyadh, but instead several internment camps. Some moments later, the officer replied "I thought we were in Europe." The prisoners of war are dragged off.

    The Israeli Front

The Israelis have suffered heavy casualties at the hands of Federation forces, having been routed. The advancing army makes it to the outskirts of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, before Another 60,000 strong Israeli army fresh from Damascus arrives to halt their progress. Once more, ground is only taken in small increments, but this time, it is in feet, not inches. The overwhelming number superiority, lack of proper Israeli supplies, and war exhaustion all cause a degradation in their fighting. The Egyptians grind against the defensive wall, replacing every downed man with a seemingly endless supply of soldiers. Taking considerable care to avoid conflict, the north expeditionary force breaks off and begins the process of encircling the enemy.

    Coastal shelling continues.

The siege of Mecca lasts for days before finally, the starved out populace begins to falter in their defense. The city is promptly stormed, slaughtering the wary opposition in the streets. At the end of the day, losses are minimal, and several thousand Saudi and foreign soldiers are captured. The Saudi flag is taken down and burned while the Federation's flag is lifted high above the city. Mecca was theirs, and so was Medina. This glorious news spreads throughout the region boosting moral tenfold. The Federation now held the holiest of Islamic cities. The southern expeditionary force quickly secures the city and makes its way south, capturing the remaining undefended towns. The army halts its march, and consolidates its position in the area, simply awaiting further orders while defending.

A 200,000 strong Algerian-Libyan army arrives through means of land and sea, meting up in Tabuk. From there, they quickly make their way towards the battling Saudi and caliphate army, tanks leading the way. The much smaller spread out Saudi army were flanked. The army charges, ready to obliterate the attrition laden foe. A simple missive is sent to the caliphate. "Your relief force has arrived.

Flags across the Egypt, Algeria, and Libya were slowly lowered; in their place, the shining golden Eagle of Saladin is raised. The three leaders meet on live television, specially broadcast throughout the region.

"Great is He to grant us this day of joyous cooperation. Our world has been wrecked by war, but as long as we stand together, we shall see a glorious victory. Long live the Federation! Long live Islam! Long live ALLAH!"

    The Arab Federation is proclaimed.

Immediately following the announcement, the wheels of reforms begin to turn. Shipyards and industrial centers begin construction, facilitating job growth in each newly joined nation. Fortifications begin to be built on the coast along with the positioning of anti air guns. Algerian and Libyan armies begin to mobilize and march east to join the on going war for Islamic supremacy.

    ----==----

    The Israeli Front

The opposing armies simply stared at each other as they blew themselves to bits with explosives and shells, Federation forces moving mere inches each hour. The buzz of drones over head cause a momentary hesitation in the troop lines before the thunder of jets snap them from their daze. Countless drones explode into debrie as jets and bombers fly by. Though drones could bomb ground forces all the wanted, they couldn't out run air power.

An army of 50,000 arrive at the front, relieving some exhausted soldiers. Tanks and artillery, as well as mobile rocket systems soon follow. Barrages of shells and rockets resume with greater intensity, accompanied by further bombing runs. Anti air guns are positioned at the border. The well supplied Egyptians would eventually grind the Israelis into a fine dust, seeing as everything to their rear lay in ruins. It would simply take time for attrition to take them.

    The Arabian Front

The roads were simply terrible in these parts, and the guerrillas didn't exactly make it any easier. Word that they were rigging their own infrastructure soon made its way to high command. Generals spat in disgust, countless civilians would soon starve because of their insolence. 100,000 soldiers, 2,000 tanks, and further artillery and mobile rocket systems arrive just west of Mecca, and quickly make their way east towards the city. Making use of the mostly untouched road systems, they link up with the southern expeditionary force and encircle Mecca. The foreign troops and remaining defenders that had holed up in the city would soon face a true hell as bombs and shells rained down like hot fire. The siege of Mecca would be a final victory in the Hejaz region.

Up north, the 70,000 northern army arrive in in Tabuk after run ins with several of the dispersed insurgents. The city is stormed and the Federation flag raised, before the army skirts its way around the Arabia-caliphate battle. After a brief march through Jordan, they finally arrive at their destination; the rear of the Israeli defensive line. The Israelis were flanked, and their defeat was inevitable. The ensuing battle would surely be one sided as the Israeli army is crushed between both Federation armies. With the Israeli defense wiped, the massive Federation armies quickly make their way north to take advantage of the sudden lack of threats.

Saudi shipping is disrupted, the newly bolstered Federation navy capturing several with key cargo and sinking the rest. The fleet moves onto Israel's coast, and begins shelling.

    Sudan

The siege of Khartoum had dragged on for several days to the surprise of the Egyptian forces. Finally however, in the early hours of the morning, another thundering crack of artillery shells hitting the cold ground resounded. Radio reports of Egyptian forces breaking past the Sudanese line came across all channels. One last push forward, and the cry for piece sounded throughout the city. The reigning government of the fallen nation was marched to meet the main occupational army. They had hoped for a lighter peace if they surrendered quickly but to their shock they soon found that almost all of Sudan had been captured, Khartoum being one of the last strongholds. The Treaty of Sudan is officially signed, and Sudan is annexed into greater Egypt. Much celebration was had, but ultimately was cut short. There was work to do to the east. Occupational garrisons are left to mop up any descent while the main army moves north.

    Egyptian-Israeli Border

It was a shame that the Israelis had declared war on the caliphate and her allies, they could have been a useful friend. Their brazenness would be their downfall. While a considerable amount was off fighting further east, Egyptian divisions had been piling up at the border. When the signal was given, the invading army launch an attack with a force of 250,000 soldiers, 2,500 tanks, and various artillery. The defending army would be shelled to pieces while air raids are conducted, this would continue until softened enough for a spear head assault into the line of men. The war would be hard fought, but a key ally would turn the tide...

    The Arabian Front

Insurgent like tactics were to be expected by what remained of the worn out Saudi divisions but never less still stall progress. Reinforcements of a further 50,000 soldiers arrive in Yanbo and Jiddah. The small town of Yanbo is quickly captured and 25,000 soldiers link up with the northern expeditionary force after small skirmishes. Those landing in Jiddah slowly make their way into the port city, Egyptian bombers flying over head in support. This southern encirclement would hopefully lead to a decisive victory against the small bands of fighters. Never the less, the Egyptians match the fervor for war with that of the falling nations armies, the prospect of liberating two of Islam's most holy centers tantalizing to each soldier's mind. The march to Medina and Mecca continues.

    ----==----
Back at home, domestic affairs go well. Factories and shipyards continue to be built across the country, and with the newly acquired southern territory, raw materials and a cheap work force flood Egypt. In a show of aid to the Sudanese, food and medical supplies are sent in droves. Further more, civil workers arrive, rebuilding and renewing the new province's ruined and old infrastructure. Egyptian rule would be a beneficial one.

Diplomatic envoys are sent to Libya and Algiers. They talk of another Arab Federation, this time one that would not fail. If they were to unite, economic and military benefits were quite obvious. No more would they be oppressed and stepped on by western powers; they would stand together as brothers and sisters of common faith and background.

The most glorious announcement of a newly formed alliance is broadcast thought Egypt and her territories, as well as to their armies abroad. The German Federation and Egypt have come to terms of a grand alliance, strengthening them both. Moral is through the roof as word that the German war machine would come to their aid is heard.

Long live Egypt and her allies.
  13. The Khedivate of Egypt

    egypt_grunge_flag_by_syndikata_np-d5o91q

With hungry eyes the war council looked upon the map of Egypt's surroundings. Each country was marked with some significance whether it be diplomatic or purely expansionist in nature. One primary subject that was currently being discussed among the officers present was Israel. Egyptian-Israeli ties had been quite friendly considering wars fought against one another in the past. Though Egypt had technically aligned itself more towards the caliphate in regional matters, much of the nation's foreign policy and attitude remained that of a secular moderate nation. Finally, as the leading member of the war council Sedki Enan rules in favor of further attempts for friendly relations with their small neighbor. Diplomats are dispatched, stating that Egypt would vouch for Israeli safety against other regional powers including the nearby caliphate in exchange for non-intervention in matters pertaining to Egypt and her allies. Further more, cooperation between the two states for technological advancement would be facilitated if accepted.

Expecting such efforts to be fruitless, divisions are moved closer to the shared border. To the public eye it seems more to do with an unrelated campaign soon to progress.

    ----===----

    The Sudanese Front

All goes well as Egyptian forces spear headed past devastated cities and charred remains of military convoys. Bombing runs had crossed off most direct land battles from future plans. Further south important runways that housed Sudan's almost nonexistent air force lay in ruins. Everything north of Khartoum lay in Egyptian hands as they rightful should. The surviving Sudanese military now put up heavy resistance at their capital, but loss after loss to superior modernized forces have shattered their morale. Once the Siege of Khartoum is over, everything south will fall with it.

    0500, Marsa Alam

For months generals had observed the conflict to their east. The Islamic Caliphate and Saudi Arabia had been fighting for some time but no end seemed in sight; that is, until Turkish forces finally appeared, mixing with their Middle Eastern brothers. This seemed to have finally broken the Arabian army's back, and a massive offensive would likely follow soon after. It was now time to join in the fray. With a force of 40,000 soldiers and 120 tanks that had been compiled weeks prior, the Egyptian expeditionary force launches from the port of Marsa Alam, landing on the Saudi coast near Badr. Aerial divisions guide the way with fire and shrapnel, clearing the way for the army. The force seize the small town of Badr with ease while the Arabians are distracted with the Turko-Islamic push North.

The expeditionary force splits, one continuing south towards Mecca and the other heads east towards Medina. Their goals are simple, seize the holy centers while their armies were distracted with larger matters. While holding these cities would have both economic and prestigious benefits, Egypt's leaders were concerned primarily of what their allies would do if they themselves held the cities. The possibility of desecration of these sites were quite high if held by the caliphate, and there for the far more moderate Egyptians would be better candidates for the occupation.

The war machine crawled to a start.

Baltic and Irish ships are denied access to the canal as requested. It was to be made clear that intervention in the region would have severe economic consequences.

  14. The Khedivate of Egypt

    egypt_grunge_flag_by_syndikata_np-d5o91q

The state of the world as it seemed to Egypt's citizens and governing body was a bleak one. War had suddenly sprung up once again, but the most wide spread fighting had commenced not in the usual undeveloped areas, but that of the west. The very powers that represented relative stability and peace now war with one another over petty differences. This came as a sign to Egypt, a sign that in this world of turmoil, Egypt must adapt and overcome. Thus Egypt once again stepped into the world stage.

The rapid expansion of extremist Islam had over the course of decades degraded the militant government's less then favorable views of extremists. Now, they found that the region was plagued with them, but such things could be turned around and used as a tool. As such, the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces had taken it upon themselves to align with similar minded states, chiefly the very state that embodied extremist ideals; the Islamic Caliphate.

A series of diplomatic encounters with the Caliphate and its allies results in the reigning head of state, General Sedki Enan, to pledge Egyptian allegiance to the Caliphate. Though Enan thoroughly knew that Egypt and its citizens could never exactly deal the same harsh sentences as the Caliphate, he reasoned the political move would secure the nation as a power in the region and found it to be rather convenient. With this newly formed web of alliances, the Khedive was free to strongman the region.

    State of the Military:

The Egyptian military with its expansive industry and modern armed forces was a power to be reckoned with. Years of foreign aid primarily from the U.S. had replaced virtually its entire aging Soviet era technology in favor of far more modern western variants. Along with this, a great deal of military industry has also been set up in prior years, once again in due part to U.S. foreign aid.

Heavy output of propaganda begins to flow throughout the country in effort to bolster its forces. The construction of several more factories and manufacturerment of further weapons and vehicles begins. Shipyards also begin construction.

    0600, Egypt-Sudan Border

The mobilization of over 100,000 soldiers as well as an accompaniment of 300 tanks and various artillery pieces slowly makes its way to the border. To the growing fear of Sudanese border guards, the grand force slowly piles up by the border. Looking to the skies, jets fly close by, waiting. Finally, after what seems like an eternity, the bulk of the invasion force has arrived, and a full scaled invasion begins. Bombers and fighters fly above, heading for key positions.

With Sudan crippled from its fight with the break away nation of South Sudan, the general consensus was that occupation would be achieved in a timely matter with minimal casualties. The former Egyptian territory would once again be in rightful hands.

The development of the advanced mining instruments have gone swimmingly, having finished several days prior. The first of the shiny new models have been sent off to the many mines on Umbriel, their efficiency almost tripling. Shortly following this was the completion of the advanced suits. The civilian variants were relatively inexpensive compared to the now outdated predecessor. Production would begin and in short time would replace more then half of the population's current space suits. The military's specially designed variant would only be produced in limited amounts however, due to resource constraints.

The development of upgraded agricultural technology continues.

What had at first been thought to be a functional ship turned out to be little more then a somewhat unstable and heavy rocket. Using the scrap from several other broken down ships, a makeshift unmanned rocket stable enough to send cargo into orbit was created. Within hours, the rocket was loaded with precious cargo which would eject from the battered cargo bay. It launches with ancient power from a forgotten age. Everything goes according to plan, and the satellite begins its orbit around the colonized moon. The unmanned rocket descends back to the cold surface with relative ease, the light force of gravity allowing for a safe return. Some days after, a faint signal reaches the satellite, which bounces down to the relays below. Due to Uranus's distance from its original signal, words are scrambled, and the message is forgotten swiftly. This satellite would effectively spread information past Uranus, but there was no need for such matters for now.

A look into the social structure of the YCC:

The Yamato Colonial Conglomerate's population is ethnically Japanese for the most part, however there is a minor fraction of the population that speak Canton, which would presumably make them of Chinese descent, however the colony has long since lost most of Terra's history to the past. The hierarchy of Yamato's people is as follows: Council members/ Colonial Minister, soldier, maintenance workers, and the rest. The military holds almost half of the colonial Diet's seats, and has held influence over the government for nearly all of the colonies existence. Consequentially, soldiers are held in high regard throughout the citizenry of Umbriel. Any sort of dissidence, especially from the sometimes mistreated miners, would be rooted out and crushed under steal toed boots.

With this sort of social structure in place, the colony had sustained itself for hundreds of years.

    History prior to settlement

In an admittedly brief window of time, Earth was crushed under the weight of the Kaiser's space weapon, with survivors being assaulted by an assortment of biological weapons. Had such an event not occurred, the population of practically every colony would be triple of what it is today. The first arrivals to Umbriel were not the most prepared due to the lack of needed supplies, but they were from northern areas of Asia, specifically picked for their strength in the desolate cold. Umbriel was not the most suited for colonization, but it was chosen not for its location, but for the materials on it. Underground lay both an abundance of ice water, minerals, and metals. The most notable of these minerals were the florescent rocks on the surface, located in several craters. At first thought to produce radiation, they were soon found safe, and became common place as light fixtures .With a base of operations fully functional, the second and last batch of colonists arrived, carrying with them an abundance of supplies needed for the long haul.

    Present:

Two figures clad in thick temperature controlled, oxygen supplied suits slowly make their way through the ruble of a collapsed mine. A group of laborers peered over the wreckage, turning to face the two figures approaching them. A laborer steps forward.

"We've had another tunnel collapse, sir." "Casualties?" "A worker had his arms broken and a concussion, nothing too bad. A drill was damaged however." One of the suited figures frown behind a thick helmet. "Maintenance will have to fix it, I'm sure they can spare the scrap. Fish it out of the tunnel and send it off."

Such was life in the YCC's Umbriel colony. The mainly Japanese based population of one of Uranus's many moons was always under severe pressure to meet set quotas, whether it was mined materials or farmed food. As it stood, each outpost maintained a steady supply of needed supplies, but as the population grew, so would the depletion of these goods. The Minister and Colonial Council had deemed another outpost was needed, but over stretching their limits was dangerous, especially in such a harsh climate. The colonists were never one to really argue with the colonial government however, especially as they were backed by the brutal soldiers who carried rather old weapons.

Thus far, no contact has been made with the outside world, everyone having been caught up in their own affairs of survival. This isolation would be kept until the time came when contact was necessary.

The mining colony of the YCC continues on.

Three other smaller outposts branch out from the main installation, all nestled in large craters. Due to the moons icy conditions, the colonists are unable to venture any large distance without special suits equipped to contain warmth in the harsh climate.

The colony is effectively split into 4 provinces. The Prime Minister administrates from the main settlement with a colonial council, while governors run the outer lying installations.
