What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: Roleplaying is where the gamer adopts his or her's character for the purposes of the game. The character's logical desires, actions, reactions and pursuits are all put on by the gamer: he or she assumes the role of his character, to maintain the illusion of reality in a fictional setting, and follows the story and lore of the world of the character.
In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are. Metagaming is where a gamer plays his character using jargon, processes or understandings that are exterior to the fictional world: it's like breaking character and acting as a computer gamer in the game, not as a fictional character. Powergaming is where the atmosphere of the game is ignored and the only reason the gamer plays is to achieve something specific, to the exclusion of other elements of the role-playing world.
What do you expect this server will be like?: Having wandered Aegis a fair bit, I expect the server to be fantastic: simply looking at all the different cities and communities was enough to immerse me into the fictional world, and to want to participate in maintaining that illusion.

In-Character:
Character Name: Bloodgarhm
What is your Race?: Elf
Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Bloodgarhm was born in a small shack on the sand to poor parents, in an area later to become Serpent Ridge. As a child he was neglected by his mother, who was torn by grief at her husband's murder by bandits, when Bloodgarhm was two. She eventually died, leaving the elfling to fend for himself from an early age. Bloodgarhm learnt hard lessons in his youth: he slept more than a few nights hungry, and the winter cold thought nothing of his primitive shelters. But as he grew older, he grew stronger and gained knowledge of survival in the wilderness.
One day, when Blodgarhm was tracking a wild boar, he stumbled across a pack of wolves who also were intent on the pig. The wolves cornered the boar, as the elf silently followed them: but the beast was ferocious and gored the leader of the pack, forcing the others to fall back nervously. As the great grey wolf dragged itself away from the pig in agony, the frenzied animal charged in for the kill; but out of pity, Blodgarhm lept from his tree perch and crashed into the boar. He wrestled with it with his bare hands for several minutes until he managed to climb onto its back, and he snapped with jaw right around, saving the wounded wolf from certain death. But the animal had gone, along with its pack; though when Blodgarhm returned to his shack, he found a symbolic wolfprint at the front of his door, and he knew that he had made an ally that day. Much later, when Blodgarhm was a fully grown elf and returned to his society as a hunter, he would not forget the wolf he had saved and he swore that one day, he would find the great canine.
Blodgarhm is 272 elven years old. wears simple clothing, suited to his environment: greens and browns. He has fair hair like his mother, and his father's strong jaw and pronounced traits. His skin is pale, for despite his environment both his parents were from a high blood line. Blodgarhm is fiercely indepedendant due to his upbringing, and although he has learnt over the years to adapt to organised society he much prefers the quiet and fickle nature of the wilderness. The elf's favorite item is his father's hunting bow, made of elm: he prizes it as it is what helped him survive, so many years ago. Blodgarhm is not very sociable, and many experience him as cold and detached. He takes no pride in his race, and is impartial towards other races: but he is disciplined and will fight if need be, and he will always look his ennemies in the eye with the patient fury of a survivor.
Your characters ambitions: To find the wolf he once saved. This was his most marked experience, and the wolf defined him. Blodgarhm also has a keen sense of justice and strives to purge bandits from the land, wherever they may hide, for their kind murdered his father. In the meantime, he offers his services as a hunter and occasionally as a scout, during times of war.
Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? It is the elf's fight, not his, so he will watch and wait: however, if the elf calls for help, or is in difficulty, Blodgarhm will intervene, for he too wishes to eliminate the bandits.
Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? "I am in need of feathers. Allow me to fletch more arrows, and I will repay you with my first three kills. Any news in the land?"
