His family had lived has been mountain dwarfs for centuries. Braten although growing up in the mountains had always wanted to grow up to travel and trade goods. Nobody knew why he wanted to take up this profession. His dad and elders always tried to convince him to stay in the mountains with his family. He still wanted to leave. One night his dad came home so drunk he started to hit Braten. Braten fought back though being a strong dwarf for his age( which is 98 ). But then his dad pulled a knife on him. Braten was so scared that he was so close to death. He then ran out of the house to the entrance to the city. He thought should he stay and try to fight his dad or run away and go live the life he wanted. His dad was getting closer when Braten made his decision and ran out of the city. Braten doesn't know what ever happened to his father that night, but he didn't care he just kept running. He soon got tired but his family lived on close to the elven border so he went to the first elven city he saw. He then begged for minas. After earning a decent amount of minas he pays a carriage driver to bring him to the elven city Malinor. Once there he goes begging once more. After earning some more minas he goes and buys some supplies and food. He then sets off on the journey that will change his life. He decides he will first go to Krugmar then Kal'Urgan then finally to the Kingdom of Oren to make his greatest trades now he sets off on his journey. He didn't get to see his parents much with his dad always getting into fights and his mom working long hours as a merchant. As a young child he met a boy, who no one knows the name of now. The boy was the son of a human diplomat. Then one day his father and mother died. The next day his friends family moved away. He was sent to a orphanage.
