Out-Of-Character:
Minecraft Account Name: Aaoa
Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?: Nope!
How old are you?: 17, turning 18 in a few months.
Time-Zone/Country of Residence: United States, Eastern Time Zone.
Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Indeed, I have a good grip on the language English.
Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am currently a college freshmen living my dream: friends, education, food whenever I want it; the list goes on. I avidly game, and play Dungeons and Dragons regularly with my friends, for whom I DM. I generally find myself looking for something awesome to do, and I’m really hoping to find an entertaining … something with which to spend my excess time.
How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Anywhere from two to twenty hours, dependent on course loads and other circumstances. On average, five hours a week seems likely.
What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: Roleplaying is the art of suspending disbelief; it is a way of temporarily living entirely in a different, albeit unreal, world. In regard to my own personal experience, I consider myself a decent roleplayer, and I’m always looking for ways to improve.
In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are: Metagaming is the use of external knowledge or resources in a game world. An example of such would be a player using knowledge not available to their character in order to gain an advantage in the game. Powergaming is the attempt to maximize the strength of a character’s abilities, often completely disregarding the story and atmosphere. An example of such would be a pacifist farmer having maximum combat abilities, without having a story to explain why.
What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect it to be similar to a full-scale dungeons and dragons world, but of course missing the DM. With so many people roleplaying, it will quite literally take on the appearance and characteristics of an actual world.
What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have yet to play on any other minecraft servers.
Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes. I found the requirement to roleplay before PVP refreshing, although it seems like it can be abused by both parties, which is somewhat unfortunate.
How did you hear about us?: Through my friend Lohrim/Niedster.
Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you? Nope.
What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Aaoa.
In-Character:
Character Name: Amon
What is your Race?: Human.
Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):
Amon began his life on a small farm, located at the outskirts of Renatus. His family, poor yet self-sufficient, required his assistance even at the earliest of his youth, and so he quickly became accustomed to work on the farm, and the occasional mining trip to find sell-able materials and fuel to last the winter. His lack of any attempt at education is very pronounced in his personality, leaving him dim-witted and easy to deceive. Following a particularly harsh winter, his father died, leaving Amon alone to fend for his mother. He took her to the capital, in order to find means of surviving, but the pair was raided by bandits on the road. He left his injured, destitute mother with relatives in the city, and began a quest to revenge himself upon the evils of the world. Now, he seeks the destruction of all evil, wherever it is found, while parading around in his chainmail. Constantly under the shade of his hood, he has grown to be quick pink, a stark contrast to his black eyes. His hair, black and short, is all but hidden under his mail. He wears red garments under his mail, to remind himself of his required sacrifices to good. Now comfortable with both skills required on the farm and techniques with a sword, he wanders the countryside, requesting food and a bed in exchange for work, in order to support himself on his never-ending journey. While Amon is devoted to his task, he rarely carries it out successfully; his lack of intelligence makes him easy to persuade, scam, or otherwise deceive, and more often than not he has attacked the innocent party. He is kind-hearted, however, and never means harm to his blunders affect.
Your characters ambitions: Amon wants nothing more than to defeat evil, which he considers to be anything he thinks is morally wrong. Of course, growing up on a farm left him with rather confused morals, and his general idiocy is obviously a determent to his quest as well. Eventually, he hopes to set up a chain of bases of operations in various towns and cities, so as to more easily supply himself. He would readily accept underlings, if any were attracted to his bravado and zeal, but his inability to handle basic tactical ideas would render them more of a harm than a help. While not looking for political power himself, he readily supports anyone deemed good in his mind, and he comes to expect assistance in his endeavors form any friends he acquires.
Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do? I approach the tussle, sword drawn, and shout “Halt, evildoers!” If they continue, I would stand still, confused as to why they don’t stop, and repeat my command, backed up with a statement on the laws or morals of the land. If they continue to ignore me, I’ll decide which party to engage, likely whoever seems stronger, and attack (this could easily be the elf). If the attacks cease, I attempt to determine who caused the fight. I would then escort the “guilty” party to a local guard, or attempt to destroy them if they refuse to co-operate. Of course, if the bandits suggest that the elf started the fight, there’s a large chance I’ll believe them, as their word outnumbers the elf’s two to one.
Your character walks up to a shop in a quiet market. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer? I respond in kind: “Hail, merchant! Today I seek supplies for my quest!” I would then buy whatever it is I’m looking for, and ask: “Good shopkeeper, have you any knowledge of evil in the area?” He may respond, “The road is infested with bandits these days. We need a courageous fellow to go sort them out.” In such a case, I charge off immediately, with no preparation, to the mentioned road, sword drawn, and ask ever person I see their business and about the bandits, in an attempt to find the evil I seek.
