Time-Zone/Country of Residence: North American Eastern Time Zone - Canada Do you have a good grip on English grammar and the English language?: Absolutely! I find grammar to be very important. Have you had any previous experience in roleplaying?: Yes, I have. I have participated in many D&D campaigns, and have written many stories. Have you read and understood and agree to the rules?: Yes, I have. I like the fact that there is no racial discrimination on the server. How did you hear about the Lord of the Craft?: I found out about it through the Yogscast, and decided to look into it. Link any previous applications you have made to the Lord of the Craft: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/71962-hades33s-application/page__p__584069#entry584069 Have you posted this application on Minecraft Forum? If not, post it here: I have posted it. Definitions In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: Roleplaying is the act of playing a role, or "being something you aren't". It's similar to acting, but it's more creative. It is mostly used in gaming, or similar actions. In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta-gaming is the act of using information that your character wouldn't necessarily know ingame. An example of that would be if some guy playing a king in a far-off land posts something in the forum about their plans of attack on your land, and you tell *your* king that they're going to attack, even though the character wouldn't know anything about it. In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power-emoting is the act of forcing another player to conform to whatever emote you use. Such as: "Orcish_Guard attacks Dwarven_Shopkeeper without Dwarven_Shopkeeper even noticing, doing anything, or moving" In-Character Details Character Name: Jaques Trifeau Character Race: Human Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Jaques grew up in the sewers of the great city of Asulon. His mother, Emilie, was killed by his father, Richard, when he was only three years old. His father had been drinking at the pub, and had come home late at night. His mother, a rich writer who knew not of the dark personality of her husband, rushed to him. The drunken, enraged man picked up his sword and sliced his wife's head off, killing her instantly. Richard then turned to the child, and dropped him into a manhole, where the child lived for thirty-six years of it's life. Eventually, Jaques grew tired of his life in sewers, and curiosity got the better of him. He climbed the rusty ladder to the outside world. The public shunned him, his unkempt hair and ragged clothes were hardly suitable for the streets. He was pushed from where he lived to the alleys, and the bad parts of town. He longed to do better, to go on adventures! He waits in the city, for the right opportunity. What are your characters ambitions?: -To rise from the underbelly of the city -To adventure in faraway lands. -To take his revenge on his abusive father. Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/811/20121104163054.png/ Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: He's very good at telling stories, and will oblige you if you ask. He is also slightly cowardly. Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? I smile, telling the dwarf I have no money to pay for his wares. He aknowledges. I ask about the status of dwarven lands, and we begin a conversation about politics. We share a few laughs, and eventually, the dwarf brings me to an inn, where we share a few drinks, and talk. He asks what I do for a living, and when I tell him I'm unemployed, his eyes glitter. He tells me that I can work for him. I agree to his offer, and over a few days, I earn some gold. I am glad I met the dwarf. But, inevitably, the dwarf is murdered within a few days, considering the neighborhood. I lose the job. You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? I hide in the bushes, waiting for the dispute to end. I don't want to get involved. If I do, I'll probably be killed. Eventually, the dispute reaches it's climax, and the Orc pushes the dwarf onto the road, threatening it with a knife. I shrink into the bushes, trying to seem like a rock, or even a corpse, to fool the Orc. But, in doing that, I rustle the branches. The Orc spins around, his rage-filled eyes black with visions of death. He rushes towards the brush, knife in hand, but trips on a rock, sending him spinning to the path. His head catches on a second stone, and knocks him unconscious Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: I smile at the old man, and help him up. "Better be careful with that" I say. "There are quite a few beggars hanging around here." The old man chuckles at my joke, and hands me a coin for my trouble. I walk on my way, coincidentally the same way as the old man. We begin to talk about the world around us, and he tells me of the places he has traveled, the worlds he has seen. I tell him of the sewers, and the places underground. Eventually, he reaches his destination. He gives me the coinpurse, and smiles. "This is payment for what you have done for me. I haven't heard stories like that since my early years."

The dwarf looked like a sneakthief from the first time I saw him. Oh, sure. He looked like a "poor dwarf looking to make a living", but I could see his true purpose. In the dark alleyways beside him, I could see the thugs waiting to pounce as the dwarf's victims were lured by the shivering, tragic dwarf. I spat on the cobblestone beneath me and walked off, disgusted. You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? I walked towards the Orc, sword drawn. "Look, mate. You and I both know that that dwarf isn't a very good candidate for threatening. And those threats! They could hardly scare a fly. I know a few threats myself. How about this one?" I thrust the sword towards the orc's heart quickly, then pull back just before it touches his chest. "Now that's a threat!" Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: "Alright, old man. You've had your fun. As soon as I bend down to pick that up, your hired goons will attack me, is that it? Well, I'm not having any of it!" I kick the purse slightly, so it lands on his head. "Alright, men. Are you going to come and fight? Or shall I just take all the money from your master, so you won't have any payment? I don't normally deal with bandits, you know, but I could take you!" Silence. Oh dear. I think he wasn't trying to trick me.
