  1. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: Nijodark How old are you?: 24 years old. Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Australia Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes I do, I have grown up in English speaking countries my entire life. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm studying at university to be a teacher, gaming in spare time and I love to create. I've never done role-playing before, however I feel this would be a great way to get into it. I feel I could bring a lot to the server with my age and experiences (both in gaming and from my travels around the world). How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Generally weekends and nights, as that is the only time I have available to game (so probably mornings for you guys). What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Immersing yourself in a world of imagination, making friends and enemies, and discovering adventure. In other words, taking on the role of your character and interacting with other people who have done the same to create a story fuelled by imagination and creativity (whether this means making friends/enemies, going on adventures or even fulfilling the role of a simple farmer or store keeper). What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: Never had any experience, but I have always had an interest. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Using information that you have gained outside of the role-playing world and using it in-game, I see it as breaking character because you are using information you would not have gained in-game. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-Gaming is a closed ended story or role-play. This means that rather than a player keeping the story open ended and allowing other characters an opportunity to adjust and feed their own creativity and imagination, a player will just say how it went and not allow any room for deviation. E.g.* Appl kicked you in the groin* rather than *Appl adjusts his leg in an attempt to kick you in the groin* (the second example gives the other character a chance to respond to Appl’s actions,) What do you expect this server will be like?: I'm not sure, I'm hoping to enjoy it. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Just my own, I still play on them, but it's just a local server for my friends and I. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: I do understand. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes I do, I especially like the no cobblestone buildings, I have disregarded servers because of ugly buildings being sprouted up everywhere. How did you hear about us?: Reddit! Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?: 6317 In-Character: Character Name: Appl the Silent. What Race are you?: Just a humble human. What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): No sub-race, just a simple human. Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): My name is Appl the Silent, imbued to me by the Monks, for even amongst our monastery (which was viewed as a quiet and peaceful place) I was considered quiet. I was born in a small house by the valley’s medicine woman. Growing up was pretty normal, I used to go fishing down by the river with my brother or playing with the other kids by the pools that formed halfway up the mountain. My brother and I are of similar height, about 6”. We both follow after my father, black hair, blue eyes (common for our valley, there were no blondes and few brunettes). Things changed when I reached my 15th name day however, the entire valley travelled to Asulon during the exodus. We endured many hardships and when we eventually reached Asulon we were diminished in number. When we arrived we encountered a small number of monks. Taking pity on us, they agreed to take a small number of the children to the city of Alras. Little did I know that my father convinced the monks to take me with them and raise me in the monastery as one of their own. That was the last time I saw my family… Perhaps I am lucky to have been taken in by the monks, but I don’t consider myself so. I lost my friends and my family and I’m not sure I’ll ever see them again. Either way… I will try to make my father proud. After 15 years with the monks, the elder sat me down and told me I was ready. “Your time has come Appl, you have been chosen for a great journey. A journey, that will take you all over the world.” He told me that I was to walk the path of enlightenment. An old and sacred journey gifted only to a few of their order. “But what about the other monks, what about you master?” I asked. “Surely there are those who are more worthy, more ready than I.” “You are both worthy Appl and more than ready. It is you who must walk this journey, no one else. It is your time to leave us and discover the secrets of this world.” And with that, the elder sent me on my way, no goodbyes, and no farewells. He did leave me with one piece of advice however. “Let fate be your guide…” What is your Character's ambitions?: My main ambition is to find enlightenment through my travels, however secretly I would like to find somewhere to call home, preferably a cave and to turn it into something glorious, perhaps a lake or a waterfall to add to it. Beauty in it's isolation is something I aspire for. On a side note, I hope to visit the far corners of Aegis and each of it's races. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): I have never come to call a tool a favourite. Each tool has it's use in this world, whether it is known or not. I have used a hoe more commonly then the rest however, as there are always mouths to feed. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? I have no specific skills, my task is to keep my mind open to all options before me. Some might say I am skilled at being patient, I prefer to think that they just merely need to slow down and take in what is around them. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Other Information about your Character: Appl enjoys the music of nature. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? I observe the situation and confront the two armed warriors. I have no way of knowing what has come about to lead to this situation. Observation before action. “You there! What is going on? What has this poor Halfling done to receive such treatment?” I yell out. The guards stop and look up at me. “Mind your own business monk!” One of them shoots to me. “It is my business when I see two armed men harassing a weapon-less and apparently harmless Halfling. What has he done to deserve such treatment?” The first warrior comes over. “This Halfling was caught stealing bread and he must be punished. As I said before, mind your own business.” As he states this he pulls his arm back in an attempt to push me. I side step his arm and rap him on the back of the hand with my walking stick. “OW!” the warrior exclaims and draws his sword,. As he does this the other guard lets go of the Halfling and takes a step towards me. In a half a breath the Halfling springs up and runs away. “STATHOS! HE’S GETTING AWAY!! AFTER HIM!” The first warrior yells and the two guards suddenly forget me and run after the Halfling. As I continue on my way I wonder if I should have intervened. Perhaps the Halfling did do wrong and was being justly punished and perhaps the warriors will be punished for having not brought him in. This is exactly what I had not intended and what the monastery had warned me about, I will need to meditate on this tonight… Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? "Nothing my good man, I just wished to enquire about your day, how are the wares fairing?" I enquire. “Take a look! Take a look! Only the best wares!” He pronounces excitedly at the promise of a sale. “I’m afraid I only have wisdom to trade my good man, none of which could feed a family. Perhaps another time.” I tell him. “Urgh.” He mutters. “A monk are you?” Noticing my clothing. “Indeed you are right, unless you have anything of worth to trade, we’re done here.” As he says this he turns his attention from me to a man who just approached the stall. Rude… but necessary. This man’s life is dependent on him selling his wares. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: A chest? Little interest. Possessions are of no interest to me, let alone that of another person. Perhaps the owner is nearby and would be willing to share information on this area. I knock on the door and call out. “Hello!?” No response… “HELLO!?” It seems no one is home… I could take shelter in this house for the night. But somehow I don’t think the owner would be too impressed with me sleeping in his bed. Remember Appl, observation before action... Looking around I notice markings amongst the dust. Someone has been has been here within the last week. *Snif* The scent of beeswax lingers, a candle was lit today. This place is not as abandoned as I had first thought. I shall continue on, the owner won’t be far from here. Perhaps I will run into them and can request lodging for the night. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? I speak up. "Greetings travellers, might I share your fire tonight? I have been wandering for a while and I am famished. Perhaps we could trade wares/stories for a reprieve from my journey." They seem interested and invite me over. “What stories do you bring traveller? Take a seat share with us your news and if you are hungry enjoy some stew that we have just finished cooking.” A tall and grizzly man replies. I thank them and tell them about my home, how I came to Asulon and my current journey to enlightenment. They seem interested and sad at the same time. Perhaps they had similar experiences as my family… After I finished my tale, the grizzly man thanks me. I try to offer him some sort recompense by helping them in the morning with packing up, but he shrugs it off. “It is a hard life we lead, but it seems you have a great task before yourself. Accept our hospitality in hopes that you will return the favour to someone in similar need. Thus is the way of travellers…" I awake early in the morning and depart the travellers camp, hopefully sometime in the future I can repay their kindness… You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: I approach the leader of the party… "I’m sorry, I wish to help you and whilst I believe your quest is virtuous. Violence of any kind but self-defence is against my code. If you wish I could accompany you on your journey and provide what assistance I can." I tell him. “Pah! What use are you then!?” He spits out. “I have been trained in the ways of medicine by my order, at the very least I can tend to your wounded.” I reply. “We’ve got healers for that! HA! What use are you to us?” He roars “Go accept the hospitality of another town and see how they appreciate it. HA! ‘Against my code’ HA!” I was taken back, I had thought he would accept the extra hands… But it seems I was mistaken. I felt somewhat insulted and angry and being told I was practically useless. Perhaps I will follow along anyway, see if I can prove my worth. …observation…action…
