I avoid eye contact and bump into his shoulder as I walk past. No good will come from even looking at this man, in fact, I know that if I turn around in ten seconds he’ll be already preying on the next lad, hoping for his meal ticket of the day. No good can come from such folk. I stop in place for a moment and consider exposing him...exposing the user for what he is and saving the next potential victim’s coinpurse...and begin to walk again. I can’t solve this, I run him out today he comes back tomorrow...I run him out for good, two more will take his place, will take advantage on the weak. I make my way towards the nearest tree and sit under it, whispers of a simpler life, a life where folk like that, like...like us, can’t hurt anymore. Where we freely give and don’t take and love that which sustains us. I rub the bark idly and dream of a sweeter tomorrow.
  2. And now we play the waiting game.

  3. Preface: This is my third application. My first was an invalid race(Mori) and my second a bit too racy. This third character lacks the passion of the first two in some ways, but relishes in others. I am thoroughly satisfied in this being almost to the best of my ability(saving room for the actual server of course). Please enjoy. :) Out-Of-Character Short Answer: Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: The rules are extensive and quite clear. I have read, understood, and agreed to all of them. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I agree that when in character and on the forums and teamspeak, I will follow all corresponding rules and laws. How did you hear about us?: I was following a case of my account being hacked a few months ago to make sure my account hasn't been banned from various places. It brought me here and I am still on the trail of a case where a certain player used my account name and changed my password(and my skin). I simply changed it again using my email and am now trying to find the site where the hacked information is given, to protect my and other players accounts. I realized that I have a friend from a server that I administrated playing here, Bigalow40, and she suggested that I join. Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?: I have not yet, but will if I deem the server worthy of my vote. In-Character: Biography, Letter Format: Application Format: What is your Character's ambitions?: He hopes on his journey in Asulon that he will further his studies into the fields of science. He also hopes to study the unexplainable phenomena of magic, the undead, and what happened in Aegis, hoping to one day return to Aegis to find what has become of his family. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): He prefers the company of a bow, compass, and watch. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? He is skilled within areas of science: Plotting, Trajectory, Astronomy, all perfect skills for an archer and a guide. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Other Information about your Character: He looks at things logically; this can be either a blessing or a curse. On one hand, he may be able to decode parts of the natural world through the sciences of mathematics and biology. On the other, aspects of magic and the supernatural may just be too much for his mind to handle being that they cannot be explained with his science. Also, a note: the statement of his father about lordship is an exaggeration. They come from his grandfather's money and his father is addicted to the decadent lifestyle of their estate. They however are not lords and therefore Jon is simply a scholar and the heir to a nonexistant estate back on Aegis, translating to being an heir of nothing. Open-Response-Questions
  4. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: My Minecraft account name is akincraft. How old are you?: I am nineteen years of age. Time-Zone/Country of Residence: I live in Tennessee in the United States, GMT-6. Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I speak flawless English and conduct my grammar at the highest quality that I possibly can. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I have worked at a pizzeria for two years now and have since donned the title "Pizza Tosser". It was around August of 2010 when a coworker of mine showed me minecraft and I have played ever since. I've been on many servers and have administrated several of them, each time making new friends and gaining new experiences. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: This game actually means quite a bit to me, I play quite frequently; if possible, I play every day. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: I have never been an active roleplayer, never really giving it time because I tend to let people know me outside of games. However, I find it invigorating to create a persona that may do things that I may not. As for experience, I was very involved in theatre in high school and thus know my way around archaeaic characterism. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: As a child I roleplayed with friends and engaged in mock battles frequently. I never really gave it a chance in adolescence until joining the theatre department. I did however play on a roleplay Minecraft server once, playing the part of a mute slave. I followed my Vassal with vigorous loyalty, but as a mute I could not communicate save through the use of a local /me where I would gesticulate. Later someone taught my character to write and I would throw someone a piece of paper and /msg them what it said. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-Gaming is when a character acts out of their usual field and refers to the real world. For example, if I were to meta, it would be as discreet as possible. On the other rp server I played on briefly I would ask people to check the next tavern they came across for a personal letter, and phrases along those lines always meant check the forum board. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: I believe there are two acts of powergaming, both being distasteful: The first is attempting to level a skill for the sake of levelling a skill. Also known as grinding, it tends to kill the fun of pvp servers with things like heroes and mcmmo because players begin to rely solely on their skill grinding to defeat everyone else instead of a good strategy. The second is when a roleplayer attempts to always weigh an outcome in their favor. Usually they give no leeway in their encounters and consider themselves always right. This is an act of arrogance, and is a trait that no one finds amusing. What do you expect this server will be like?: Looking at you player count and forums, I expect this server to be nothing like I'm used to. I have been on larger servers with 200 players at a time, but they tend to be overcrowded and laggy. This server hopefully will not behave as such and I am hoping for a bustling populace of fun gamers that take their role seriously. The professional way that the forums are conducted lead me to believe that this is the case. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Long Answer: Short Answer: Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: The rules are extensive and quite clear. I have read, understood, and agreed to all of them. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I agree that when in character and on the forums and teamspeak, I will follow all corresponding rules and laws. This man, this...scoundrel! I'd rather he just answer my questions as opposed to attempts to court me. "Sir!" she roared at him. "I shan't take another moment of such injustice! I am a respectable lady of the state office and refuse your dishonourable behaviour. If you would like, we may skip this process and my assistant here," she motioned to the armed guard beside her, "will shackle you in the dampest cell we-" "Oh me dear, we musn't have such issues between us, you and I!", the man interrupted."A handsome woman of yer office deserves the fines' treatment and utmost respect from such a...lowlife as meself." The drumming of her fingers upon the table signalled that his fun was over and that he would simply have to submit to the registry. Helena pursed her lips. "Then you will submit to all queries and answer as honestly as possible?" The little man stroked his small, silvering beard, contemplating whether to stroke her gentle thigh, ultimately deciding to just do as she wishes." Oh miss, ye know I'd do enythin' fer ye. Ask away!" Character Name: "Alright," she stated. "I first need your full name.""Well I already tol' ye, tis yer ol' Uncle Fuzzy!""I've told you that I will write it as your preferred name, but I need the name of your birthing please and if you will not comply-""Fine! M'name is Eli Waters, but ye know I AM yer Uncle Fuzzy." What Race are you?: "And I will assume you are human, but please state that you are for my papers.""Oh, I'ma human man fer sure. I'm ALL man, but...you may have to check just to make sure though.""We'll have none of that mister Waters." What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):"Now tell me, is there any comments or specifics you would like to make about your race?" Uncle Fuzzy raises an eyebrow and motions to go on."I see, moving on then." Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): "Tell me a bit about your life. Your history, your childhood, anything to quickly summarize for me who you are.""Well na', this may take a bit." He reaches his slim, long fingers inside of his tunic, bringing out a pipe, only to be halted by the overly large hand of a disapproving guard. Uncle Fuzzy tipped it back in with a roll on his eye and a word on his breath. "Well now, where t'begin? Ah, me poor mother. Having to raise me along me brothers, all after a special place in 'er heart. She was a saint dear, a floggin' saint. She bore me upon Nature's Boon, fefty some odd years ago. We lived, me vast amount of brothers and one sister, on a farm somewhere in Salvus. We all tended er chores, always gettin' the upper hand over the other fer mother's love. Father stayed on me fer years though. He was treatin' me worse than the others, always did. Said I always had to live up te somthin', some 'p' word I ferget years ago. Said that he was the seventh son of his father and I the seventh born unto him. On a lazy afternoon aroun' the age of sixten, yer ol' Uncle here developed his first taste fer flesh, successfully courtin' me first lady. I later learned me best gift was the skill to woo any woman I came across in me small village and beyond. I also got outta many of me chores by lyin', another gift of mine. Nothin' ever bad, mind ye, just a mention of field rot from working too much every once in a while. You know, I deflowered more village girls than-""That's quite enough of that mister Waters. Tell me a bit more about after leaving home." "Ah, let yer Uncle Fuzzy," he stated profoundly, "take ye' on that journey. I traveled since I been twenty or so. Had a fallin' out with me father y'know, no interest in farm life. I made me own path as a merchant, haggling, learning every price of everything from a loaf of bread to a gilded trinket. You know, the most valuable thing I ever came across was talk. Markets are fer a bit of food, maybe a shoe or two. The real merchants are in the taverns, sellin' their secrets. Then of course the fences, buyin' and sellin' whatever valuable came their way, and I mean everything. Of course I am an upstanding citizen, and would never lower meself like that." He grinned a toothy grin, wicked yet feigning innocence. His bony fingers slipped inside his tunic for his flask and made a swig before the guard could move. "In any case, it could be said that there are a few cities, and beds fer that matter, that are...unwelcome to my personage. After all me travels, sellin' whatever I could come across, without stealing mind ye. I have morals ye know. Now, let me tell ye how I got me name." "That's perfectly alright, we-""So there I found meself naked in a sheep pasture, hidin' from a particularly angry husband with an even angrier axe. I dove to the shearin' shed and fancied a bolt of wool to a bit of a robe. I crawled a bit around to the gate, gettin' caught on the latch. Yer poor uncle here almost got a bit chopped miss, only barely breakin' free at the last second with a certain endowed lady chuckin' plates on the fence while Mister endowed lady barrelled into a sheep. I had been a bit beckish meself if me lady had been seduced by meself. A slipped into the local tavern and announced that ther uncle had arrived victorious. The hearty laughter filled the room with the keep offering a drink to his fuzzy uncle." Uncle Fuzzy chuckled at his little misfortune while the official picked her head off table. "Are you quite finished? I'd like to carry on. I might query as to you ever living elsewhere than Salvus and the greater human province." He removed his jaunty cap to rub his balding head." Well, I lived with the elves a bit. Somewhere around Normander I think. Not that it matters where your uncle found himself in the land of elves. Never will ye find a more beautiful woman, almost welcoming me soft touch. I traded and haggled, keeping me belly full of ale and some type of berry that gave me a spot of rash, but mostly ale. Ye know they live in trees? Was a bit alarmed at first, hoping I didn't find meself out a window after a drunken stupor. Tell me, ye know anything of Dwarven ladies? Was thinking about taken a travel through the Alrasian sea to find a few meself." Helena rolled her eyes at the notion asking to get back on topic. What is your Character's ambitions?: "Moving on, so that we may finish this as soon as possible. Do you have any ambitions that you will like to fulfill?""Ye know, yer uncle here has travelled long enough. I make a grand impression of beddin' every sane woman I come across, but in the end feel a bit lonely. Perhaps I'll travel a bit more, but ye just may find me owning a tavern. Ye never know with me." What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): "Dare I ask if there is any tool that you find important, and please keep your answer clean.""Hm, let me see. Ah, when I found me a boy I was a fieldhand, plowing with me hoe. To be honest, I 'ent found meself doing an honest amount of work since." What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? "I see. I shudder to ask if there are any talents that you find yourself gifted with."" Well, you and I both know me ability to woo any maiden I come across. Yer ol' uncle is also the best haggler ye find yerself comin' across. I suppose a gift of the tongue then. Aye, a gift of talkin'!" A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Other Information about your Character: "Before I ask any more questions regarding your...state of mind, is there anything you would like to add?" The seedy little man thought to himself about the vast spectrum of roles he may find himself in. Though a brigand on the surface, he did give a small look into his mind. It was true, he had been a travelling merchant for many years, but what of his mention of the trade of secrets? That had been his point of taverns, they being the real marketplaces of information, all types. He hopes to one day settle down and own one of these so called information markets, so his intentions may perhaps be more sinister than previously thought. Of course, this is only speculation." I think ye know about everythin' miss." He grinned devilishly at her cool gaze. "I see. With that I am going to ask you a few questions. You merely respond with what you will do." Open-Response-Questions "Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how do you respond?" "Ah, a fine day to ye gentlemen! Ye find me with a bit of a dilemna, ye see, yer ol' uncle here has gone and lost a bit of gold. It could be in my hand;" He pulls a small coinpurse out of his cloak. "Or, it could be in the grass." He makes a throwing movement, while through slight of hand tucking it back in his cloak." The men dive for it, shoving each other while the halfling and the stunningly handsome fellow escape, leaving two angry men with a bag of gravel and the dissatisfaction of being outsmarted by such a debonaire, fluid, illustrious, tall" The room breaks out with laughter from the official and her guard. The guard wipes tears from his eyes, "Debonaire? Illustrious? TALL? Yer a funny ol' one ye are." The little man makes no attempt to conceal his frown as he mutters under his breath. "You wander into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your response?" "Wander? Ha! I stride into Alras. I say to the man, 'Ah, hello good sir, ye find yer darlin' uncle here in need of a service. Ye see, I've get meself in a bind over this fine trinket I picked up. It weighs me down and I was wonderin' if ye'd like fer me to part ways with it.' I take out a small goblet, and hand it to him. I watch his expression as yer uncle smiles at him delightfully. Ye see, he has no idea of its value! It was made from a dwarven alloy that makes it worthless, but the workmanship looks exquisite. It's worth nothing, but he can't decide whether it is fake or not. I take it back and walk away as he wonders for the rest of his life whether it was a fortune or not." "Whilst wandering in the wilds, you come across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would you respond?" "Testin' me ol' bones eh? Lucky for ye yer Uncle Fuzzy has a bit a morals. I hide them a bit better for the owner so that the next man coming across won't steal em." "Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?" "Ah! Yer uncle here apologizes for such a rude intrusion, but I find meself a bit peckish after such a long walk. Tend me with a spot a ale and perhaps a steak or two, and let yer good ol' uncle dazzle ye with a story or two and a few shiny coins. Perhaps even a young maid to deflower!""'I'm sorry sir!,'" interrupts the guard, " cries the villager, 'I'm afraid I heard not that last part.'" The guard and Uncle Fuzzy grin at one another while the official bangs her hand on the table. "That will be enough out of both of you. Next question then." "You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How do you act on this information?" "Ah, I apologize but that sounds a bit vigorous for me ol' bones. I'd just as soon avoid them or pay a younger man. Me body is fer pleasin', not for killin'." "Well I believe that brings us to the end then. I am finished and will never have to see you again, thankfully.""Eh, so ye won't give yer ol' Uncle Fuzzy a chance fer romance?""Guard please take these papers and this man out of here." The little man stands up with a grin and attempts a last ditch tickle of the official before being dragged by the guard to the next room. I have read, understood, and agreed to all of them. I agree that when in character and on the forums and teamspeak, I will follow all corresponding rules and laws. The way I found the server is a bit odd actually. I was following a case of my account being hacked a few months ago to make sure my account hasn't been banned from various places. It brought me here and I am still on the trail of a case where a certain player used my account name and changed my password(and my skin). I simply changed it again using my email and am now trying to find the site where the hacked information is given, to protect my and other players accounts. In-Character: Other Information about your Character: He was told once by his rescuer and mentor Zanshikaze that there was a kind soul in the world known as Angela that would give him solace were he to seek her out. Also, as a part of his creed, he will not speak the Mori tongue or join in their customs. This is something he may have to overcome if he hopes to one day avenge his honor. He also is typically dealing with the harassment of others about his blindness. He finds the need to overcompensate to prove that he isn't a blind beggar and is a skilled swordsman despite his condition. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? I remove my blade from its sheath and place it quietly on the ground. I unbuckle my belt and string the scabbard off of it, holding it tightly. I approach slowly, silently, hearing their every move. Closer I creep to them until I spring from the grass with my scabbard, pummeling the two and rattling their armor like a tin can while shouting to the victim to run. Upon outmaneuvering them several times easily due to their clanking armor and the smell of hot iron to guide me, I am able to deftly escape, their heavy steps and loud armor noting me of their progress. I duck into a hole upon the side of the road to finish my escape. After hearing them pass, I crawl out again, mumbling about having lost my sword and belt. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? "Ah, good morrow fine sir. I was admiring your wares", I lie, "nothing more." After silence, I know that was the worst lie I'd made since being a youngling, for I was obviously blind with a cloth over my eyes. I clearly state that I must be off and walk away embarrassed at probably being mistaken for a beggar. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: This blade's workmanship is exquisite! The intriquite engravings, the solid feel. And these iron ingots would fetch a fine price with a local blacksmith! Alas, it is best to admire the belongings of others rather than keeping them for myself. They will only weigh down my pack. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? "Oh, I apologize for my intrusion sir-" "Hah, n'trouble done brother, come!" replies a swarthy villager." It's my son's birthday and we would love to accept some company into our fold." I reply "I'm afraid not, but, if your kindness would not exclude a visit to the trader, I will purchase some food and be gone." He shrugs and lends me his wife to lead me to the trader's cabin. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Ah, just my area of expertise! I may not necessarily be a lawman, but when the guards give you permission to attack without calling it murder, it is an opportunity indeed. I draw my sword and raise it proclaiming that I would assist them. The roars of laughter following my outburst shatter my confidence. One of the guards shouts, "We're no' gonna let a blind man do it, you'll kill yerself!" I resolve instead of facing ridicule and dispatch each bandit while they sleep that night, bringing the head of their leader to the guard captain. He stunningly gives me the payment deserved and I walk out, my head high. As a note, I must say that I respect your attempt to read through this entire application. Afterwards you have others to look through as well, so good luck on those. Thanks for your time!
