Aortic Griin was born in a small village in the outskirts of the Kingdom of Oren. He is pale skinned and only the age of 20. He is a very smart individual, yet has always lacked motivation. Many people mistake him for an *******, but he is just a smart-ass.
His village was a poor farmers haven making due on the crops the gods blessed them with. Many of the villagers were born into it, and died never leaving it. Aortic did not find this appealing at all. His father, a hunter for the haven, taught him all he knew about the bow. At the age of 16, his father took him under his wing and taught him the hunt. Every time he wondered towards the outskirts he would peer into the distance, wondering what else was out there besides him and his family. At the age of 20, his father at the age of 62 had passed. Open-Response-Questions
Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond?
Aortic Griin takes note of the two armed men, picking on the easy target of the halfling. He quickly takes note of his surroundings attempting to locate vantage points, but there is none. He improvises against his will and fires a shot into the back of the larger warrior. Poory armored with leather, the warriors back is punctured and oozing blood rapidly. He turns with a bitter faces and revels himself to be an Orc. The bleeding warrior drops to his knees and heels over. The second warrior turns and looks in shock. He rips a coin purse off of the halflings belt loop, and starts running. Aortic takes a shot at the warrior, hitting him in the back. The warriors thick plate armor bounces the cheap stone arrow off, and barely phases him. Without giving chase, the warrior escaped. Aortic turned to the halfling and apologizes for the stolen property. The halfling still in shock of all that just happened, turned to Aortic and thanks him for saving his life.
Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response?
"What do you have for sale my man? I have few minas, but they're still burning a hole in my pocket!". The shopkeep replies "Well, I have the usual goods. Fruit, meat, seeds, small arms, tools, all at a fair price!". "Hmm, a fair deal i'm sure, but i'm not looking for any of those, I suppose i'll pass. Thank you for your time." Aortic responded and turned to walk away. "Wait!" yelled the shopkeep, "I do have something you may find interesting. By the quiver on your back, armor on your shoulders, and that twinkle in your eye, you're not ordinary peasant". Aortic stopped and turned, "What is it you may have?" glaring into the shopkeeps eyes. Whispering so others around could not hear "I happen to have gotten my hands on a map.. A map of old ruins, that entrance lies within a mine not to far from here. Tales of riches I was told. Any man who finds the ruins will be as rich as a king...". Aortic thinking deeply replied "Is that mine not occupied with workers?". "Yes, but at night, there isn't a soul in sight.. If you were to sneak in at night, and be out by day break, there would be no trouble." explained the shopkeep. "Now I cannot give this map away for cheap. If the tales are true I'd be throwing away literally a kingdoms worth... So I'll cut you a deal..". "What sort of deal?" questioned Aortic. "I'll give you the map, if you find such a treasure return to me with half. We both walk away rich men. Now if you do not find the ruins, forget about the payment for the map, you owe me nothing. How does that sound?" quietly said the shopkeeper. Aortic thought for a moment, and finally replied with "Alright, you've got yourself a deal...".
Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:
While in the wilds, Aortic stumbled upon a small hut made of simple wood. He knocked on the door "Hello?", but no one seemed to reply. He made his way into the hut. Upon entering he sees nothing, but a small chest. The chest was not locked, and contained a few iron bars, and a golden sword. Curious to whom the owner was, Aortic explored the hut a little more. No bed, no furnace, no trace of life in sight. Aortic figured where was the harm, and grabbed two iron bars to repair his old iron sword, leaving 5 bars and the golden sword.
Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?
Hungry and tired, Aortic stumbled into a small trading camp. The people were human, but did not look of the same skin and eyes to what he was a custom. He walked around and found a stall filled with pork. Aortic greeted the stall worker saying "Hello, how much for a slab of pork?". "That would be 10 minas normally, but for the likes of you, make it 20." tastelessly said the stall worker. Aortic looked bitter in the face "For the likes of me? Besides, I have no currency.. Only a few arrows.". "You know, and outsider and It seems like we won't be able to make a deal then? Bugger off." the stall worker snapped back. Aortic holding his tongue walked away, looking to the sky. The sun was setting and stars becoming visible. He walked into the woods until night sky was lit. The stalls shutting down, and the men putting out bedrolls, he crept into the camp. Walking light footed, minding branches, he approached the back of the stall. It was locked. A simple lock very commonly seen that was known for being brittle and unreliable against blunt objects. A poor investment for any shop keep or stall owner. Knowing it would alert the camp, Aortic looked for a large rock. Upon finding one, he prepared himself to ****** and run. Throwing the rock with all his might *THUNK* and like magic the lock fell off. In there, stacks upon stacks of smoked pork. The smell alone was enough to make him cry. "WHAT WAS THAT?!?!" a voice shouted. Aortic grabbing all he could before being discovered, loaded his almost empty quiver with the pork. Successfully sneaking around trees without being detected, he made off like a fat bandit, and a full stomach.
You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:
Aortic did not show interest in the news. Small bandits were not of his worry, and he was confident in the guards ability to take them down. (Sorry for the short answer.)
