  1. Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: SpidersForBlood How old are you?: 22 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: CST - United States Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Absolutely. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am 22 years-old and a current college student. I am pursuing two bachelor's degrees - one in Philosophy and the other in Speech Communication. I spend most of my free time playing video games and reading. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 30 hours or more. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: To me, roleplaying is one's immersion in an alternate reality. Roleplaying allows you to direct the course of your life, limited only by your imagination. This is particularly appealing to me in the context of this server, as I have always been fascinated by medieval lore. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: Participated in many sci-fi text based roleplaying games, some taking place within video game universes (specifically Megaman). Additionally, I have also played in several D&D campaigns, both as players and a few times as DM. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-Gaming is the unfair use of knowledge in-game that your character would have no way of knowing. For example, your friend in real-life texts you the location of a player in the server, and you use this knowledge to track and kill them. This is unfair, especially in this RP server, as you must act on only the information your character knows. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-gaming is the act of forcing another player into a situation they did not agree to. An example of this would be an archer hiding in the forest, shooting arrow after arrow into an unsuspecting victim without revealing himself. What do you expect this server will be like?: A rich, engaging universe that will allow me to explore and develop my character's life, as well as focusing on RP. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I've been accepted onto Grom's Medieval Server, but there is rarely more than 2 people on at a time. I've also played on MassiveCraft, but there was not enough RP going on. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes. How did you hear about us?: I researched several servers, and this one seemed to be the most interesting. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: I have - http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/51013-fenwicks-application/page__p__389807#entry389807 Have you posted this application on our minecraft forum thread yet? If not, just finish it up on here and then copy + paste is over there. (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): N/A Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): Fenwick was always a victim of chance. His mother died while giving birth to him, leaving his father, Arick to raise him alone. This worked well for several years, until Arick suffered a gash to his leg during a training exercise, which lead to an infection that required his leg to be removed. Being unable to continue his work as the Master of Arms in the great city of Eralis, Arick had no choice but to return to the country and work on his sister-in-law's farm, bringing young Fenwick. It was here that Fenwick learned how to provide for himself. He learned how to plant his own crops, tend to them daily and reap them when the time was right. One night, a drove a bandits raided the family farm. Everything was upturned - crops were unrooted, the stables set ablaze and the house ransacked. Fenwick, in one of his only strokes of luck, happened to be fetching firewood when the attack started, and hid in the woods nearby. He waited sleeplessly until morning, and approached his ruined home cautiously after the bandits had fled. Here he saw his father and the rest of his family, all stripped of their goods and lives. Unable to cope with these horrors, Fenwick fled through the woods, running for what seemed like days. He would remain a child of the forest for several years, utilizing the skills he learned on the farm to sustain himself. Free from any sort of rule or king, Fenwick was free to act as he pleased. He meditated upon life's mysteries, climbed trees and hills, trained against imaginary soldiers in sword fights and learned to appreciate nature's beauty. These simple pleasures drove out the somber thoughts of Fenwick's past, and allowed him to cope with his losses. Only recently has he decided to attempt to integrate himself back into the world, yearning a sense of belonging that has been long since forgotten... What is your Character's ambitions?: Fenwick is a somber, yet thoughtful man. He strives to become in touch with humanity once more, though he does so cautiously. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Hoe What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Farming, speechcraft A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Other Information about your Character: Fenwick has the same steel-grey eyes of his father. "That's the warrior in you," his father would tell him. Fenwick didn't feel like a warrior at the time, and has yet to understand what he meant by this. One day, he may find out. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Fenwick approaches the situation cautiously, slowing unsheathing his sword. "What is the meaning of this?" Fenwick calls out, harshly. "Mind your business, coward," replies one of the soldiers. "You know, I've spent the latter half of my life in the wilderness... hacking down trees, skinning wolves and constructing monuments to gods far crueler than any you would ever know... almost makes you lose touch with your humanity. Maybe I'll be adding a few more pelts to my collection today, what do you think of that?" Fenwick replies, cold and calculating. The soldiers exchange a brief glance, sheathe their swords and slowly walk away. "Th-thank you, sir!" The halfling exclaims, "You've saved my life... you're not... you're not going to kill me, are you? What with all that talk of cruel gods..." "Of course not," Fenwick replies warmly,"I don't believe in any gods." Fenwick turns on his heels, and walks away smiling. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? "Greetings, kind merchant. I am in search of a fine farming tool this day. It must be durable enough to persist through continuous use, yet light enough to not tire a man half to death. Do you have anything of that sort?" Fenwick inquires. "Of course, m'lad. This here is a hoe, forged of pure diamond," the merchant says, gleaming. "A mighty fine tool indeed," Fenwick states, "but I fear that is too extravagant for my needs. I shall purchase this iron hoe. It will serve me well." Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Fenwick walks into the hut, cautiously. "Hello?" he calls out. There is no response. He gingerly opens the chest, scanning the wares with his eyes. He slowly tucks them into his sack, and leaves the house. He remains near the hut, in case there is someone these items rightfully belong to. After a few hours of meditation, there has been no sign of life. Fenwick continues on his journey, pleased with his newly acquired goods. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Fenwick is delighted to see other campers in the woods, though he surely would not be roaming hungry through the woods - afterall, he has been living alone for several years in the forest. Nevertheless, he replies with the utmost courtesy - "Fellow dwellers of the forest, I come to you humbly to request a meager amount of food and warm company. May I join your party?" "Certainly," the group exclaims, "eat and drink to your fill." The following hours result in warm laughter and cheer. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Though Fenwick holds a grudge against bandits in general, he chooses to seek out these bandits to see if he recognizes them from the destruction of his family farm. Putting on his green cloak, Fenwick moves silently through the trees - something he is all too familiar with. In the distance, he sees a small fire at an encampment. "These are certainly the men the guard was describing," he mutters under his breathe. He approaches the camp slowly, until he is within sight of the men. "Strangers' faces, the lot of them," he thinks to himself. As these are not the men he saw pillaging his homeland, he retreats into the woods. Fenwick is somewhat skeptical of authority, and prefers to define right and wrong on his own terms.
