The Silver City of Haelun'or adheres willingly to the martial law of the Kingdom of Oren, and strives to bring stability to the lands of Haelun'or. It continues to adhere to the laws of the Kingdom of Oren, and adheres to its own laws as a vassal - it is the duty of the people of Haelun'or to elect a new leader to represent its peoples effectively.

The criteria is as follows:

Duties of the Sohaer

1.) Consultation.  While the Sohaer presides as the head of state, he or she is obliged to seek the advice of fellow authorities.  The two underlings who share seats of power should be sought out before large decisions are made, to better inform the wisdom of the Sohaer himself/herself.

2.) Status.  The Sohaer claims the right to differentiate between times of war and times of peace.  Without a stated declaration from the Sohaer, the City cannot engage in national conflict.

3.) Diplomacy.  The friendships of our Nation are tied directly to Her fate.  Thus, in the Sohaer rests the ability to choose our state’s official allies and enemies.  No tie between our nation and another can be made without the approval of the Sohaer. Also, the Sohaer conducts visits from emissaries and representatives from alien nations.  All inquiries on the national level by diplomatic meeting are to be attended by the Sohaer.

4.) Guidance.  Referendums must be signed into the law by the Sohaer.  Ratification of law is vested in the signatory of this position.

5.) Teaching.  The Sohaer must be knowledgeable about all matters of the City and Mali’aheral culture.  More importantly, however, he or she must teach these things to all who inquire it, so as to enhance the Blessed City’s wealth and blessing in knowledge.

6.) Service.  The Sohaer must be at the service of the city, with no task for the betterment of all below himself/herself.  The Sohaer shall perform any task for the advancement and health of the Mali’aheral beneath his or her power.

7.) Example.  More than anything, the Sohaer shall represent the best aspects of all Mali’aheral and serve as a role-model for all. With exceptional purity, and exceptional citizenship, the Sohaer must demonstrate for each citizen the pinnacle of Mali’aheral expectation for behaviour.

    In our cultural tradition it is of great benefit to determine who is the most capable among us. The need to determine fine specimens among our race beats like blood in a pure-blood’s vein. We march to the drum of purity, intelligence, knowledge and skill. It is time to uncover an elegantly clean drummer within these walls during the absence of a Sohaer. Together we shall find out  just who keeps the pulse of Haelun’or pumping to the tune of maehr’sae hiylun’ehya.

Summarize the Lore of this Magic:

Electrical Evocation:
Just like all other evocations, one connects to the void, creates the element that one wishes with the void (in this case, the charge of electricity). Then one realises this element into reality. Electrical Evocation, in comparison to other evocations, takes a long time to be able to fully use the charge. After all, it takes time to create a sufficient charge for a bolt that would be equivalent in power to, let us say, a fire ball by an fire evocationist.

Sensory Illusion:

To begin, Sensory Illusion was not named such in the beginning. When the magic was just created it was called Light Illusion. However, over time, the users realised there is far more than light in play with using this magic. Not only is there an influence with sight, but also with the other senses: sound, touch, scent and taste. For an illusion one requires to know each aspect of the object to fully be able to conjure the image, taste, however, is not a common need in this. In Sensory Illusion there are three types of mind tricks: glamours, figments, and phantasms. A glamour is an addition to an already existing object. A figment is an entirely new object. A phantasm is implementing an emotion into one’s mind.
The entirety of Sensory Illusion is not real, it is simply a trick of the mind. It cannot hurt the subject physically. An illusion must be logical, if they are not the subject shall realise its non-existence and it shall break, or if the subject realises it is in fact an illusion, it shall break as well. Because of this, the caster shall never be able to feel his or her own illusions.

Write up a lesson that your character would give to a student. (Do note, we will be contacting aspiring teachers for a quick interview, to try to better gauge your knowledge and understanding):

Electrical Evocation:

“Today, we shall be seeing how external factors can influence an electrical charge.” Lelien states as she guides her student to an open clearing. In the middle of this clearing, there is a large, iron pole sticking out of the ground.

“You shall now aim a bolt away from this pole, about sixty degrees. Then you shall see the results with your own eyes.”

The student does as bid. The student connects to the void, and concentrates. A collection of electricity gathers in the palm of the student’s hand, jumping over every so often. Once the charge is large enough, the student releases it. The bolt shoots out, yet it suddenly turns away from its expected course and to the iron pole. Surprised, the student cuts off its connection from the void.

“If you haven’t seen that, you must be blind. Metal has quite the influence on your electrical evocations, keep this in mind. It can be used against you, yet you can also use it in your favour.”

Sensory Illusion:

“Sit.” Lelien commands her student. The student does as bid.

“Today, you shall be creating a figment.” From the table beside her she takes a wooden box with ornate designs and swirls carved into it and hands it to her student.

“This is what you shall create, now.”

The student takes the box, studying each and every aspect of the box. The student studies each groove in the wood, the colour of the wood, even the smell of the box. Lelien diverts her gaze so her student may work. After some time, the figment is created in the student’s other hand. The student gives the signal, and Lelien returns her attention to her student. She takes the two boxes, one in each hand.

“Good.” Lelien then begins to study each box, comparing them to each other. Her brow raises, the illusionary box disappears. “You missed a curve, student.”

A book is set on display in the Eternal Library of Haelun'or titled: Council Minutes of the 10thh of Grand Harvest 1507. All those inside Haelun'or can read this piece of thrilling literature.

After countless weeks of work, the Eternal Library is finally finished.
To be able to stay in the Eternal Library, there are certain rules you must follow.

Library Rules:

• One may not harm a book in any way, shape or form. If this is done accidentally it must be reported to the Okarir’indor with utmost haste. The consequences of breaking this rule will vary from the severity of harm done, from a fine of 25 minas to a task of gathering resources for the library.
• One may not bring any food or beverages into the library due to the possibility of dirtying the books. The consequences of breaking this rule will be cleaning the library, classrooms, and labs thoroughly.
• Children under the age of 15 are not to be permitted in the Eternal Library without the guidance of an adult (+50). If this rule is broken, the child shall be banished until he/she is of age. If the child so wishes to be stubborn and enter the library even if he/she has been banished before, the guardian(s) of the child shall be fined. First 25 minas, and so forth for each time the child enters the Eternal Library.
• One shall not yell in the library, silence shall be had. The consequences of this action will be a 2 Elven day banishment from the library.
• No fraternizing in the library, it is afterall a public area. The punishment of breaking this law and rule shall be determined by the Okarir’tir.
• Only the Meritorious non-mali’aheral are to be permitted within the Eternal Library. Violators of this rule are to be promptly dissolved in acid for sullying the sanctity of the College.
• One shall not take a book from the library without the permission of the Okarir’indor.
• One may not fight or use magic in the Eternal Library due to the chance of the books being damaged. You will be swiftly removed from the living world.
• No pets shall be permitted in the Eternal Library. The first time one breaks this rule he/she will be fined 25 minas The second time, 50 minas shall be fined. The third time the pet shall be dissolved in acid.
• The copying of books is prohibited without the consent of the Okarir’indor.
• None shall touch the instruments present in the Eternal Library without permission from the Okarir'indor. If one does, they shall be removed from the library and banished for a period of two Elven days. If this is a common occurrence, the instruments shall be removed from the Eternal Library.
