What magics do you desire to teach?: Mental Magic

Summarize the Lore of this Magic:

A practitioner of mental magic essentially uses the void to connect to another individual's mind in order to achieve several purposes. The first utilization of mental magic is simple telepathy, where messages can be communicated to another character by locating their consciousness both physically and in the void. The second use of the magic is titled mind melding, and is more complex and requires more focus than basic telepathy. A mental magic is capable of extracting specific memories from a target, though the difficulty depends on the activity level of the target's mind and the amount of information one wishes to extract. Lastly, a mental mage deals with two different types of illusions; cataleptic and regular mental illusion. Regular mental illusion entails the basic aspects of regular illusion, though the mage is only capable of altering a single person's senses or reality. This is dangerous for a mental mage though as their illusion can be affected by the thoughts of their target. Cataleptic illusions are reserved for the masters of mental magic, and it involves numbing a target's brain and senses so they enter a trance like state where their logic is more easily deceived through the magic. A mental mage is able to create entirely realistic scenes to the target mind, though the scene must be developed vividly beforehand by the mage. Additionally, the scale and duration of the developed illusion affect it's realism to the target.

A mental mage must have line of sight with the target they wish to connect minds with, and a mage will not always succeed in their attempt to view specific memories or instill different ones. Also, the magic heavily deals with tells, so it is important for the user to be friendly and informative to those they are role-playing with.

Write up a lesson that your character would give to a student. (Do note, we will be contacting aspiring teachers for a quick interview, to try to better gauge your knowledge and understanding):

Shadows would dance dimly over a poorly lit cavern, the only source of lighting being that of a flickering candle resting in the middle of a simply carved wooden table. Sitting at that table would be two Mali'Aheral, one who's featureless gaze appeared jaded over long years of arduous study and practice, the other bearing the appearance of a young apprentice.

"You have adequately mastered connection to the void," The lithe Elf would speak restlessly to his pupil, expression frustrated and worn, "Now we will see if you can find another mind through the void," A bemused grin settles across the countenance of the Elf, emitting a faint chuckle "Since there is only us two, you will attempt to find my consciousness through the void. We discussed the barriers we must employ to protect our thoughts from other mental mages, yes? Yes; So if you succeed, you will theoretically hit my barrier."

"You t-think I'm ready?" The apprentice would quip nervously in turn, eye's settling upon his teacher momentarily before averting due to the testing look he received that he rightfully took as an answer. The student would gulp softly, exhaling a shaky breath before closing his eye's. The apprentice would reach to his masters shoulder to establish a physical connection before his hand would be batted away quickly with a wiry thin armored hand

"Today you will search without touch," Saeldur would say a toothy grin, stare unmoving from the apprentice.

"Without touch?! How am I supp-," The student would begin to protest before Saeldur would simply raise an armored hand, ending the rebuttal before it could begin, "You will do as I have taught you; Empty your mind, clear all thoughts from that bumbling head and open yourself to the darkness."

The young apprentice would wipe a bead of sweat from his perplexed brow, closing his eye's once more and resting his hands on the wooden table. After a long moment, a denser layer of sweat would dampen the brow of young Mali'Aheral, his fingers tapping the table before he would emit a loud and surprised gasp. The student would find himself standing before a large black gate, deafening screams racking from the other side of the imposing wrought iron. The student would only have an instant to look around before his unfocused gaze would snap back to reality, Saeldur allowing a small grunt to escape his lips before the student realized his connection had been severed "Well done," Saeldur would say with a small nod, expression impassive and inscrutable "That is all for today. Continue practicing your meditation and we will speak again shortly."

The young student would take a moment to seemingly gather his thoughts, sweat rushing down his face. He would quickly usher his youthful frame from the seat before offering a clumsy bow and gathering a tome from the table and scuttling out as fast as his feet could take him.

In order to self teach a magic, one must demonstrate consistent and quality RP when attempting to garner the magic without guidance with screen shots to prove their word, along with finding an overseer who utilizes the magic themselves.

Please add screen shots with your character speaking to voidal magics and cognists themselves in order to learn more about the magic, and include any tomes on the magic that detail it thoroughly.
