Thankyou for taking the time to read this advertisement, I promise it is something you will not regret. My name is Censtan, and I have recently arrived in these lands. I would not wish to bore you with the details, but after a succesful business career unforseen financial circumstances (some nonsense about unpaid rent on my business premises! Totally unfounded allegations!) forced me to leave rather quickly, and now I arrive here homeless and jobless. I have spent several days moving from town to town, village to village, in search of work. Some have felt like ghost towns, with not a soul to be seen, while those that are populated were unable to offer work. And so I must now offer my services on a noticeboard such as this. Despite my background in business, I do enjoy a spot of mining. Exploring what lies beneath the surface is something of a constant exciting mystery. While exploring the deeps however, there is always an element of danger - and so I know how to handle a sword, if that is of use to prospective employers? I believe myself to be skilled with words and persuasion - need a salesman or representative? I'm your man! However, I am more than happy to turn my hand to anything, at this point, as long as there is a wage and a bed to sleep in. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I work as an Education Officer at one of the UK's leading Zoo's. In my spare time my hobbies include football and playing roleplaying games. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: A few hours per night, potentially! What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is taking on the role of your avatar in the game, giving them personality and portraying this in all decisions which are taken in-character. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have a lot of roleplaying experience in online games. The majority of this came while playing World of Warcraft where I was an active member of the Argent Dawn roleplaying community for over five years. I was frequently involved in the planning of major events, several of which attended by over one hundred players. Two of my characters rose from the lowest ranks to becoming guildmasters of well established and respected guilds. A gnome of mine called "Duckular" (Named after his fathers invention of a Mechostrider that could go through water) rose from street-urchin to criminal mastermind of the "Legitimate Business Club", an organised crime group with a tavern as their "front". Meanwhile, Kiach, a dwarf, joined the Stormwind City Watch, a somewhat dysfunctional law enforcement guild for one of the main cities on the game - accepted by almost all of the server as the "official" police of the town. After three years of service he'd risen from Lance Constable to Drill Sergeant, to Lieutenant and finally, to Captain, where he remained for a year and a half - a hugely respected position on the server. I have only been playing minecraft for a couple of weeks, but in that time I have learnt the basics, and also played on the roleplaying server "dragonsreach". A lovely server which has recently set up. However it does have a small player-cap and everyone is currently in the "build, build, build!" phase and so not much RP to be found unfortunately - but what I have found I have hugely enjoyed! In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-gaming is knowing information in-character by out-of-character means. For example, knowing another characters name without asking, because it says so above their head. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-gaming is not giving someone a chance to react to your characters actions. For example "Player A" emotes "Player A slashes Player B's throat, blood spraying everywhere!". This is unfair as poor player-B does not have the chance to react! The emote should read "Player A attempts to slash his sword towards Player B's neck, aiming to slice it." What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect that this server will have an active roleplay community, and with such large player-base, quality roleplay shouldn't be hard to find. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Dragonsreach. As explained in the earlier post, I like it, but at the moment the player-cap and build-focussed community means roleplay is hard to find. He has a well trimmed goatee-beard and a friendly personality. To those who have known him for some time, he is something of a loveable rogue. Frequently getting himself into trouble with moneylenders, female admirers and people that he's sold merchandise to, which is quite possibly why he's moved to the area. He is a jack-of-all trades, anything which he can make money out of, he will en-devour to do so. Always on the lookout for a business opportunity, legitimate or not so much. His jacket if opened up would reveal all manor of hidden pockets with numerous pocketwatches for sale of questionable origins. He is a spinner of tall tales, which may occasionally contradict each other and put him in trouble. He is happy to use such stories to impress the fairer sex or seal a deal on the sale of merchandise, making it sound like the deal of the century. Despite his roguish side, he has a conscience and will try to avoid exploiting the poor and defenceless. Loyal to his friends, even if he does have a habit of disappearing without notice in order to avoid those he is less friendly towards. What is your Character's ambitions?: To make as much money as possible - running a large business empire... one day. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): He is happy to chip in with any tool if there is money in it for him, being most skilled with a pickaxe. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Words. If this could be classed as a "tool", that would be most accurate in Censtan's case! A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format): Other Information about your Character: Censtan is a self-proclaimed expert in classical artwork. Most of it including ladies with limited clothing. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Censtan blinks, looking at the scene. He pauses, his conscience battling with the chances of him getting himself killed. He then sighs, rolling his eyes and draws his sword, moving to aid the halfling. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Censtan glances at the stall, quickly taking in what is and isnt up for sale. He then jumps into his own salesman mode, smiling a charming smile. "Well sir, its more a case of what can I do for you! He puts his arm around the merchant and attempts to lead him to the corner of the stall. "This spot right here, could use some brightening up. Are you familiar with the Knanga Glowstone of Ahkzikadia?", and before the merchant can answer "Of course you are, and you know just how well it is going down with the finer clientele of this fine city? Why, this morning I sold my entire supply for its weight in gold. As a fellow merchant, how about I sell you thirty kilograms for a hundred coins? A twenty percent deposit now and I'll drop them off this afternoon!" A few moments later, Censtan is striding off around the corner, his moneybag jingling. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Censtan sticks his head out of the door, glancing in both directions. "Yes. Definetly abandoned" he mutters. He walks out, swishing the sword happily this way and that, before wincing as he discovers that it is indeed quite sharp. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? "Ah, gentlemen!" says Censtan as he walks into the camp, jumping at the opportunity of some food "And ladies", with a wink to a nearby woman, "I have searched all day for this fine camp! I have a large supply of Grizolt wool heading this way on a cart to be traded. Perhaps I may dine with the camp leader whilst we wait?" You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: "Ah, well erm, I'm having terrible trouble with my shins at the moment so it it will be a struggle for me!" he says, rubbing his shins - "However... due to the fact I may not be able to work for several days after all the excitement, I might need a double-reward?"
