In-Character:
Character Name: Kaar Mii’lumbars
What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : None both parents are of same blood unless this means what type of elf I am then, wood elf?
Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):
The life of a elven man is along read and I will do you the justice of trying to cut it short for you. It all begins in the wooded city of Crescent moon, from day it would appear from a distance as three large white towers peaking from the canopy of the wooded region of three falls woods. Closer inspection two of the towers are shorter then the third giving to the term crescent moon, only at night this is more visible as the towers glow white and in a crescent moon shape in the skylight. Here I spent most my youth as a child and a teen learning the ways of my people and later serving within the guard. Being born into a common elven family I was not allowed the freedom to choose my life dreams, that being able to build the ideas that filled my head. For my childhood was brought with trouble as I would continually look out windows and instead of writing down the elvish history and lore I’d scroll on my parchment the buildings I could see outside the window.
I was then named Kaar Mii’lumbars which is elvish for head in the clouds. I spent more time running from the teacher and drawing of our cities grand buildings then I did how we as a people came to be or our history. In time I would be detained and learned more of our great founders and builders which only further filled my head with more ideas and concepts to build and make my name as known as our elders past. Sadly as a teen I was not allowed this path to go down, instead at the age of 166 ...er human years is um 19 I think yes I was enrolled in basic training which would last till I was 175 once again I’m sorry. Basic training would last a human year in turn at 20 I would then go into service of the elven guard for the next 10 human years which is only the young age of 262 to us. Our elven life span is a little difficult to understand I’ll try and clear this up right now. For every human year an elfs is about nine, so the average lifespan of a human say 80 would be 700 for my people. So a human male of 19 beside the same age elf he’d be 166.
Ok now that I’ve cleared that up let me get back to my story in the guard. For the next 35 years or till I was 24 I grew very tired of my service duty and couldn’t wait any longer for the day I would be allowed a chance at my dream of being an architect and even then I’d be denied the high position due to my linage of a commoner. I made a plan to leave my city, for if I wasn’t going to be allowed my dreams then I wouldn’t allow them all to torture me in such a beautiful city of denial.
The next morning on a patrol I slipped away from the group and made my way to the border limits, there I would travel the river of Ascadian tears to the monilithic golem that stood guard over the town of Ascadia. From that day I would travel the lands going from town to town drawing their notable builds and studying their customs and concepts. It was while I was in the Capitol of Soto I was drawing the cathedral of the master law giver, a grand building the likes of which would make any living being taken back on. It was near here that a preacher was atop a wooden box preaching to a group of people. He was in a robe of red and white on the back was the insignia of a silver hammer. He stood almost as tall as a elf without the box, so it made him even more notable to the people. His voice was loud and stern and his arms and hands moved with each of his words.
“not one man is better then the next, sure he may be stronger and mightier or wiser however the true strength of man is with his fellow men and women for each is but a stone in the foundation of a great build!” “undermine thy brethren and sister and that wall WILL! crumble.” “look not to gain wealth and property, look not to break thy bones and shed blood for the monarch that would sooner see you dead LOOK to a better living a better way of life!” “the master builder provides to his followers, the master builder protects you with his knowledge. And with his hammer he will smite the trickster that would sooner take your well being and leave you hungry and homeless”
After a few minutes pass the preacher gets down from his box and begins to hand out pamphlets to the crowd. He spoke of a city I’ve not come across in my travels and peeked my interest with this god the master builder. It was almost as fate drew me to this place and time. I introduced myself and he told me he was the ambassador of Irongate and his name was Nu’Toobas Quina or Quinn for short. We later made our way to the East road at which point it was clear I was in for a surprise. The signpost at Capitols city limit stated “ East road to Irongate “ under it etched in the stone read placed and built by hammerite hands. The road went on for days, we would make camp a few times in the nearby woods and pick right back up the next morning. Five days later I would arrive at the city known as Irongate, once there I couldn’t stop fumbling my parchment scrolls as it felt like my lost city was standing before me. Inside there were towers and buildings that kissed the clouds, the harbors gates were made with intricate design wrought iron. The temple was built to house a majestic hammer, the church was detailed in every block and the two bells inside its towers were etched with runes and writings of a language unknown to even my elven people. I knew I found a place that would allow me to be what I wanted, to build freely and to leave my name for generations on.
After completing my trial by fire I was granted the title of a hammerite. I would then help in the building of the great city even further and I was even tasked with builds of my own design which I proudly did. What further solidified my belief with my new home was their ideology of the four prime gods and the master creator. My elven people only knew of one god that being Mother nature, we’d have shrines all throughout the lands of tree shrines and shrines to the life giver. The hammerites knew of mother nature they even spoke of three other gods, law, life, chaos and the construct or master builder. It was with this openness that I took the master builder as my own god and so did I take his beliefs and guidings.
Years would pass and many a great builds were made. It was recently that while we were patrolling through the town nether gate combating the nether demons on the other side and harvesting nether wart for the town alchemist that we discovered great structures of demonic build. Bridges and fortresses within the vast nether void. Later that week I requested my High priest admittance to go back and document these buildings “being my natural curiosity to draw new and beautiful things” he allowed me but warned me that the nether is a realm of bad magic and time, this was not to be forgotten.
The things I saw, the places I drew and last the most odd of them all ,the way the nether would open itself and pull things from the other side into here. Large towns and water were pulled in by giant shadowy arms, even the small shadows danced around and tear at the debris falling in. Lock spoke of how the nether was unstable and its nature to corrupt and destroy lands, but this didn’t really phase me as I kept going deeper and deeper in. It’s been unknown how long I’ve been here but my book has become more and more detailed with drawings of the strange creatures that dwell here. Strange magma slimes, fire that flies like an air mage and spits fire...
It dawns on me finally, where am I , I open my pack and notice I’ve not paid much attention to my now empty pack. I’ve been down here for too long, I shouldn’t have let my curiosity draw me to my death. I put my book and pencil in the pack and begin to take note as to what and where I came from which buildings I drew....which bridges I took note of but they all look the same now. Panic sets in and my mouth reminds me that I haven’t had water in a long time even my stomach now turns in unison with my dry mouth. All I could remember is forgetting my pains and running from ledge to ledge jumping high ravines and coming across large swaths of soulsand that would grab at my feet. My eyes would dart looking over everything in the distance and I couldn’t find any trace of which direction I came from. Wait what was that, it was almost as if I could make out a portal in the distance. Thank the master builder, “screams echoed loudly” oh crap what a fool I was out in the open in soulsand and I let the worst creatures of all see me. Ghasts, reaching for my enchanted bow I went to draw an arrow...nothing “oh wow I wasn’t keeping track of my things while down here”. It wasn’t much of a setback I had enough stamina and that portal was near I could spare a little on a few spells. “ringwe pilin di!” A frost arrow here and there would only slow the beasts down and not kill them, that was all I needed. I could see now the portal wasn’t a portal but one of those forsaken rips where the nether tore at the world on the other side. True panic set in now and I stumbled as I came into yet more soulsand, regaining my footing I used the last bit of strength and called a fleet of feet spell and blitz up out of the sand while fireballs from the ghasts blasted from all around me. One coming very close to hitting me “thud” I turn my head to see what just fell. “my pack...my drawings!” the rip was starting to close back up. In one corner of my eye I could see the rip closing while I looked at my pack. Most the ghasts that were frozen had unfreeze and began to search me out while the one that I missed circled around to make more passes at me. Do I stop running and break my fleet of spell and get my pack...do I keep going for the only exit I’ve found in miles...will I be killed by the ghasts?
I turned back and lept through at the last second, the nether rift behind me closed. My pack was lost all I had was my life and my trusty bow....... “head begins to feel like a dead weight, everything around me begins to spin out of control” not now , I don’t know where I am I’m not out of danger yet. “I didn’t exert myself too far with the magic to be fatigued like this”. “thud”
I lay on the ground face in the dirt I can feel hands roll me over and place me on a stretcher of some sort. I can hear them talk in a strange language however I cannot move or open my eyes. The entire world still feels like its spinning, my feet begin to hurt and swell. My hands burn as if ice kissed, I try to recite a revival spell...what were those words..why can’t I remember them? I’m able to open my eyes but I can barely move, my head hurts so do my feet and hands. There are other people in cots along the wall, hooded men tend to these people. “am I in a war zone?” one of the hooded men look up to me and walks to me. He sits by me and I can see his face, a dwarf. I try and speak in dwarvish but the man gives me a puzzled look he then picks up a pack near my bed and hands it to me. Inside I see a loaf of bread some water and what appears to be a purple shard..it sings to me telling me to pick it out. The hooded dwarf nods and points at it. Reaching in I touch the shard, my head no longer hurts “aye there laddy understand me now?” I can understand the dwarf and my injuries seem to have been healed. I can hear everyone in the temple. I ask “where am i?” the dwarf tells me I’m in a holy temple where him and his brethren monks take injured souls to heal, sanctuary of the cloud temple. I ask where the Capitol of Sotonia is from here, but a puzzled look goes over his face. He tells me i’m in the lands of Asulon and the people here are from the lands of Aegis. Now I have that puzzled look on my face and the dwarf chuckles “now you look like me”. They later showed me the crossroads and said take care, handing me that pack and my bow.
So I took what I’ve been taught if ever lost seek the east out ,there the master builder will guide you. Just as I was passing through a tunnel I felt a book in the pack along with pencils. I picked them out and opened the book. On the first page words began to scribe out.
“seek out truth in exploration”
What are your Character's ambitions?: Always as a child I wanted to draw and build grand structures that would test the trials of time and earth. Because owning land and riches are for the clouded of mind. In death you cannot take these with you however if you make grand structures people through the ages will remember you and thus your name lives forever.
What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): The pickaxe for which to carve and chisel raw ore into works of art. I’m no fool to the bow as my secondary favorite, I do not shy from combat and will defend my beliefs and fellow hammer brethren.
What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Taking earth and cobble and smelting it down into the clay of structure. Building it up and carving down and away the rough edges, smoothing out rough sides and making an otherwise simple build into a build that looks to be alive from the earth reaching to the heavens. ((Basically building))
A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: ( http://tinyurl.com/Lotcscreenshot ):
Other Information about your Character: I’ve always carried a parchment and pencil close to me. I use to have a book that I had over the century, but sadly I left it in the nether in my escape to get out of that hell. Now I journey the lands of Asulon with a new book and pencil, maybe someone may find my old drawings and if they do I hope they return it to me. I’m lost in this world and will continue to wander till I find my place again.
Open-Response-Questions
Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? I’d walk up to the group and shout really loud while talking to the three.
“WHAT! you guys are still here standing around?!”
*pulls coin purse out and pulls out some coin and hands them to the halfling.
“GO now ! hurry and make sure the cots are comfy and warm! were going to need them when we go to the frostlands! And if merchant Moe isnt there go to Jim I’m sure he has everything we need for our expedition!”
I then push the halfling in the direction of escape and wink at him. Turning to the two thugs I’d ask.
“So you guys ever braved the frostlands?” As soon as one would try to respond I’d continue to talk and ask question as to further confuse and bewilder the two. Once the halfling is good and gone a distance I’d inform the two I’d go ahead of the group and to scout to make sure it is ok to start on the travel. I’d start back down the path and look in scrubs and behind trees and yell back at the two it looks pretty safe. And once I get a good distance from the two I’d continue on my journeys.
The best tool in combat is sometimes words.
Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? ’d respond to the man telling him I sure and that I needed some time to look over his wares. Looking over what he has I’d him ask about local news if there is any and continue to browse over the merchandise. If the merchant continues to have an attitude with me I’d politely say goodbye and make my way out from the stall and look to another stall.
Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: I’d place a few more items in the chest use the furnace and work bench and possibly sleep in the house till morning. I’ve come across so many abandoned houses you never know which ones are still being lived in or not. It’s best to never take from anyone, this is the hammerite way.
Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? I would look for a market or shop of some sort and explain my plight. I’d exchange knowledge for some rations and place to sleep for the night. If there unable to assist me I’d go to the town mayor and ask for assistance and help if he could. I’m a master gamesman and can afford to hunt and collect my own food, and for the being lost part I wouldnt really be lost as a elf and all and tracker I rarely have the two happen to me. Only time I could see this being a reality is if im badly wounded from the wilds. In which case I’d do the following that I talked about.
You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Being a hammerite I’m required to assist any plight of the people. May this be building, hunting, bandits or general knowledge of craft skills I’d be more then willing to help in their endeavour. I’d once again seek out the town leader or guard captain and tell them I am able to help in any means possible. Being a master with the bow I’d advise an archers position within the partys group.
Anything else you would like to say?: Well I hope this server will fill in the empty void I’ve had since kingdoms went offline. Everything looks well managed from reading on forums and all.The wandering souls thing was cool. Looking forward to building some nice additions to your world and getting back with my group of friends soon.
