  1. Minecraft Account Name: MyroflSaur. How old are you?: Thirteen years old. Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Pacific West Standard (8:00), USA Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I can carry a conversation fluently, but like anyone, I make mistakes sometimes. Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I'm a stand-up comedian who likes Minecraft, Role Playing Games, Real Time Strategies and hanging out with friends both online and in real life. My sense of humor is a bit strange, and I am a bit weird or crazy, but there isn't really much I can do about that. I've always been fascinated by Fantasy works ever since I read Eragon in the fourth grade(whether it be books, movies or video games) and that's one of the reasons I am submitting this application. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I could be on the server at least ten hours a week. What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: I know that roleplaying is to pretend to be someone you're not. To me, it's just a way to have fun and forget about everything troubling you in real life for a few hours. What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I've played on many other roleplaying servers, and being a comedian, I'm constantly playing the roles of people I'm poking fun at in my routine. I've also watched, read or played probably more than a hundred books, movies or games that deal with roleplaying. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: To meta-game is to use knowledge your character does not have to accomplish something he couldn't do. For example, if my character is a colonist to a new land he's never been to before, but knows where everything is, that would be meta-gaming, because only I or maybe my last character knew that. Your character plays a lumberjack, and has never been to a church/religious building on server before or ever been religious in his history, but you (yourself, the player) read up on the religion lore, so you recite an entire sermon as this lumberjack who's supposed to know NOTHING about it at all. That's meta-gaming. You shoot someone in the face with a bow, but your character was never trained to use one. That's meta-gaming. In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Power-gaming is to roleplay things that may be impossible for your character to do, like shoot lasers out of your eyes that can't be avoided by your target. Power-gaming does not allow the people you are roleplaying with to do anything. If someone were to say... "I slash you with my sword and your arm flies off", that would be power-gaming, because it's up to the other person to decide what happens to their arm. Rougly, it should be; "I swing my sword at your arm, and hope it connects", and the other person says "Your sword narrowly misses, and I swing my shield at your face". This way, the roleplay can continue, and both players are having fun. Power-gaming can also be avoiding the story-line. What do you expect this server will be like?: In my last App, I said I didn't expect anything too amazing, but after reading up on the lore and seeing how active the community is, I actually expect something unlike I've ever seen before. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I've played on many RP servers, and I've left them all for the same reasons. Either everyone stopped playing, so I did too, or I stopped playing because it just got too boring and barely everyone was ever online. The first servers that pop into my mind are Overture and Obsidian Roleplay. Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes. Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes. How did you hear about us?: I googled "minecraft roleplay servers" and found LOTC on a server list. Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: Yes, I have, and here's the link(s); http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/57827-myroflsaurs-second-application/ and http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/57604-myroflsaurs-application/ In-Character: Character Name: Marinus What Race are you?: Human What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Southeron Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): A thoughtful and slightly naive lad, Marinus was the youngest to be born in a warm hut by the sea in a beautiful swamp town called Mireton. His father Julius often took him and his siblings on fishing trips in the swamp and just off the coast. It was on these trips that Marinus enjoyed himself the most, not because of the cool breeze or big catches, but because these were the occasions where his father was happiest. Marinus' siblings gradually moved out as they got older, first Plinius, then Lucius, then Paulina and so on, until only Marinus' and his older sister Colette remained. It saddened Marinus' mother greatly to see most of her children go, and she fell into a light but very noticeable depression. One day, Colette got a not-so-very-bright idea, and decided to swim in a leech infested pond. It wasn't really the leeches that had gotten to Colette, but after having some of her blood drained, she became extremely susceptible to the lyme disease she had just acquired from the native ticks. Colette's condition worsened over time, as did her mother's depression, until both of them were ghosts in everything but reality. Julius guiltily kept going fishing to escape the depression in his house, and Marinus kept coming with him. On one of these trips, Julius told his son to never end up like him, destitute and unhappy, relying too much on family for happiness. When they returned, Colette was dead, and Marinus' mother was in shock. Generously, Julius shooed his favorite son away, to stamp his own name into the fabric of Asulon. He set his sights on a great city in the mountains, Eloria, and plans to do whatever it takes to make his father proud there. What are your Character's ambitions?: Marinus wants to make his father proud of him by honoring every one of his wishes he gave to him the day Colette died. To be rich, to be happy, and to be independent. Marinus obviously does not completely understand his father's wishes. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Marinus' favorite tool is a fishing rod, as that is what he is most familiar with and what brings back his happiest memories. What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Going fishing with his family as much as he did has taught him how to fish like a real angler. A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, click here: http://www.lordofthe...kin-screenshot/): Other Information about your Character: He likes to just sit down and think about what makes people tick but often misses the main point. Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Scenario #1 "So, is this how you two have fun, robbing half-ling folk of their livelihoods? Why don't you rob someone a bit more than half your size?" I back away a step. "Why don't you piss off?", the warrior on the right snarls. "Why don't you come at me, you bald, ugly, fat-tub-of-butter, stinking-good-for-nothing-greedy-halfling-robbing-SLOW SACK OF LARD!" I give the halfling the signal to run, and sprint away as fast as I can. The warriors, in their relatively heavy armor, soon tire and give up. Scenario #2 "Good day, big warriors, you too, little man, is there any way I can be of assistance? Surely you must need some help, robbing someone so much stronger than the both of you put together. It's my last warning to leave you say, well, deary me - OOF!" The warrior closest to me slams a metal-clad fist into my stomach, leaving me breathless and gasping for air. "Very... Well then..." I excuse myself from the encounter, feeling more sorry for myself than for the halfling. I sit down against a tree and wait for the pain to subside, then I go into the tavern in town. After a mug of ale, I come to the conclusion that I should've stood my ground even after being punched like that, and make it a vow to make the bandits pay. I forget to report the incident to the city guard. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? "Greetings. Any idea where a fisherman such as myself can find honest work with good pay?" "Regrettably, no, but I do happen to be selling some fishing rods if you need one." "Sure, it's always good to have a spare." After I walk away a nice distance, I notice the odd weight of my new rod. I inspect it, give it a few bends, and lo and behold, it snaps across the middle. I run back the way I came to confront the scam artist, but he's already gone, and left behind nothing but an empty nondescript wooden stall. I chuck the remains of my rod into a nearby trash can, and make my way to the guard's barracks. "That man is a scam artist! He robs people of their livelihoods, you must do something about him" The guard captain is fat and lazy, and demands to see my evidence before any action is taken. I threw my evidence away, and don't want to go dumpster diving. "Forget it, your superior will be hearing of this!" I storm out of the barracks, but not before hearing from the captain, "Ha, I am my superior!" Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: I imagine for even a moment, that someone does live in this house. Maybe he's staying with relatives in the city, or going hunting? I put myself in his shoes of being robbed, and recall the occasion where two bandits robbed a halfling and crippled my pride. I wouldn't want to do that to whoever lives here. I walk out of the house, and put a sign up on his door that reads: "LOCK YOUR CHEST", and feel very satisfied with myself. "Wait a minute, what am I doing, being so silly! There was gold in that house!" I walk back inside, remove the sign and loot the chest. "Hmph, he should have just been more careful of where he put his valuables." Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? "Greetings there, sentry, could you direct me to the mess hall, and the nearest town while you're at it? I'm starving..." After eating, I realize I don't have any money to pay for my meal, or any supplies. Realizing my predicament, the traders give me some cheap supplies and send me on my way to the next town. I thank them dearly and promise to send them back something. Scenario #2 "Hail there, I've been lost in this wilderness for days, can you lend me your hearth and cooking fire?" "Of course friend, we'd be glad to help a traveler in need! Ye need to have coin though if ye want to buy some food". I remember the money I brought with me, and come into the Mess Hall. After eating, I dig through my pockets for the money as payment, and realize I spent all of my money at the last town. I realize it wasn't such a great idea to get that expensive meal of filet mignon and spiced wine. To prevent the situation from getting worse, I spring up from my seat and pledge to work off my debts. The work is hard and the conditions are sub-par, and on my break I sneak out of the camp and continue on my way. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: I realize this could be a great way to get noticed by somebody of importance, so I gladly sign up for this raid. An arrow whizzes by my head as we take up formation in the brush beside the road, and I worry that my opt to be ranged support wasn't such a great idea for being safe after all. The battle is over far sooner than I expected, but I only ducked out of fire to shoot once, when the guard captain screamed at me to get a hold of myself. The captain gives me full pay, as promised, but anyone could tell it was done with great reluctance. After vowing to be more brave, I drown myself in a few mugs of cheap ale to forget about it. Anything else you would like to say?: I intend to make my own skin soon enough. Thanks for your time. *Edited once to add links to previous submissions*
