Out-Of-Character
Minecraft Account Name: wulld
How old are you?: 16
Time-Zone/Country of Residence:GMT - England
Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes
Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I would really prefer not to do this. I am applying so that I can RP, not to be OOC. However, I am a young and intelligent minecraft enthusiast who has taken an interest in your server for quite some time now, despite only applying now. I would describe myself as friendly and I love playing minecraft SMP because sharing the game experience with other people is a lot better than playing alone.
How much time could you be on the server weekly?: That depends on what I need to do that week, considering I do not do much I would say at least 5h (although I have no idea what the usual is on these applications...)
What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Roleplaying is the act of living someone else's life, someone with a much more interesting life than you. It give you the ability to make huge decisions, and you are able to make them because they do not affect you in real life but they affect your character which just makes it more fun and interesting. It means that you no longer have to be yourself, you can be cunning or courageous depending on how you want yourself to be perceived by others.
What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I have previously played on multiple roleplay servers, although I found myself tired of them after some days for the lack of players there were to interact with, from your description I am sure that will not be the case here.
In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: As a character, making decisions based on information you could not possible have known. For example, the dwarf does not want to go to the elven political summit because the player behind the dwarf has a real life friend who plays an elf that told him they would set up a trap (Or so I assume).
In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: When a player is playing purely to reach a specific goal. For example, the dwarf has a life wish of avenging his father by killing Susan the ogre, as a result of this the dwarf ignores most other interactions and (knowing where she is) heads in her direction to kill her and achieve his goals.
What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect this server will be fantastic, as I have said before I have followed your server for quite some time through youtube and the minecraft forums but I always thought that signing up would be too much hassle (being that you needed to submit applications to multiple places), now however as I am finishing school imminently I believe it is a good time to sign up. I hope that it will be a roleplaying experience I can become immersed in fully making real in game allies and enemies, living the life I choose to live and engaging in community influenced events.
What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on many, the names of which I do not remember as they were fairly insignificant. I remember playing on one server that stressed the RP element of magic which I left because of its technical flaws and the server team's inability to fix them. Mainly I leave servers because there is a distinct lack of players, here I don't think this will be a problem seeing as you are the #1 RP minecraft server in the world.
Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes.
Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes.
How did you hear about us?: I can not remember it was so long ago, I believe it was through either youtube or the minecraft forums, one lead to the other.
Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: I have not.
In-Character:
Character Name: Wulld (Pronunciation - Wooled)
What Race are you?: Human
What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race):
Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):
The best place to begin, is the beginning.
Wulld was born unto the realm of Asulon by his mother, Breinhelda, out of wedlock soon after the disappearance of his father. His family owned a small farm in the Realm of Hanseti, north of the Capitol, and made a poor living selling their various pumpkin produces. Life revolved around family values rather than material possessions, life was good.
It was, for this reason, unfortunate that it could not last. At the fragile age of 12 our protagonist, Wulld, discovered his mother partaking in a Puritarianist cult ritual with other members of farming families from the area in honour of the Old Gods which involved a human sacrifice. Wulld saw everything. Shocked and appalled, Wulld let out a shriek that alarmed the cultists, faced with their cloaked eyes judging him he did what any self-respecting young individual would do and he ran. He remembered the time he and his mother had visited the festival in the Capitol and, as much as it pained him to think about her, he sought refuge in the south.
Here we are in the present day, four years since the incident within the hustle and bustle of the Capitol. After spending three long years as a rogue on the streets of the Capitol, Wulld was finally taken pity on by a wealthy cloth trader situated there and given an apprenticeship dying the cloths, after proving himself worthy he was offered the chance to oversee one of the merchants trading ships on its one year journey to far exotic lands. Finally returning a year later adorned in a fine nobleman's waistcoat and grey silken pantaloons, we see a young boy with handsome brown hair and bold eyes, aged just 16 he has overcome his past and made a good reputation for himself as a hard working individual and now hopes to exceed expectations and achieve his ambitions.
What are your Character's ambitions?: My character is a devout follower of The Society of the Illuminus Obscura, seeking his mothers redemption in the removal of the gods, a tireless ambition but one that holds much significance to him. He also wishes to strike it rich and become a wealthy nobleman in stark contrast to both his upbringing by his mother and his time as a street rogue, although he is much closer to fulfilling this ambition after his partnership with a wealthy cloth trader. Among these main ambitions are ones which hold less significance such as being generally successful and being victorious in battle.
What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Hailing from a family of farmers has made Wulld fairly proficient with a hoe, although this has little use where he is today. If given the choice Wulld would say his own hands as he has already gotten where he is today using hard work and perseverance, although if an official tool is required a fishing rod would be the answer as Wulld took a keen interest in fishing during his trade voyage.
What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? My character takes pride in his fishing, having had a years experience at it on his voyage he considers himself somewhat of an expert on technique and usually gets a return

Other Information about your Character: Growing up on the streets has made Wulld a tough character, you have to be when nobody is there to look out for you, because of this he is reluctant to back down in confrontation - often encouraging some kind of combat resolve, although never instigating a confrontation in the first place. It frustrates Wulld when people talk about his mother as it brings up mixed feelings of compassion and resentment. Wulld is also cunning from his street years.
Open-Response-Questions
Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? I, although seeming cowardly, choose to avoid the whole ordeal. What does it have to do with me anyway? Getting involved would likely make it worse for the both of us. Besides the warriors probably have good reason to interrogate the halfling anyway, be it on official or unofficial business, I certainly want to avoid that fate if I can and getting involved would not help me to do so.
Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? I immediately question his background, why would someone of an upper class use such lower-class dialect as "'ello"? On top of this, why would someone of an upper class be tending to a market stall? After questioning this I seek an answer in his wares, what is their quality and quantity, what is their purpose. I would have inspected further were it not for the blistering sun that beat down on my back. After confirming with myself that he is not a threat my eye is drawn to a book detailing The Society of the Illuminus Obscura, without hesitation I purchase the book and am on my way, sure not to drop hints of my unholy intentions.
Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: I would be cautious as to not only why nobody before has taken such belongings, but also as to why the hut is abandoned in the first place. Checking meticulously for booby traps, I would enter the hut and approach the chest. It is at this point that water drips upon my nose from above, before being drawn to look up I am overwhelmed by the stench of rotting flesh which discourages me from doing so. Hastily I would make my departure to the nearest township and write an anonymous letter to the law enforcement body tipping them off about this hut, having done so the matter is out of my influence and therefore no longer a priority.
Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? I greet them likewise, who am I to turn down a friendly introduction? However as I am weary of monstrous forest beings I convince them to allow me at least within the perimeter before interrogating me. "Please, I am in need of food and shelter, would you allow me to stay here for the night?" I ask, hoping that I could get in for free. "I am afraid that we can not allow you to stay within the perimeter with no identification, you could be a spy..." The guard asks, curious if I have revealed my true intentions. "I assure you I am not a spy, I hail from the Capitol and am currently on a journey of the utmost importance." I state, having noticed that their cloaks are emblazoned with the crest of of the current Hochmeister. "We received word of a traveller that would pass through here from the main outpost, how can we be sure that you are who you state?" He asks, intrigued by my claim. "I carry documents bearing the crest of Mirtok DeNurem himself!" I say, reaching in to my satchel and discretely folding a page from my lore book to show only what needed to be shown. I pull the page from my satchel and make the crest well seen before hastily placing it back in my backpack. "Everything seems to be in order, sorry for the inconvenience sir." He apologises. Accepting his apology I insist on being shown to my tent and being left to eat in peace, knowing that if they had or should enquire further that my cover would be blown.
You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: I would take action but only with the incentive of the reward, it is not of my concern if bandits occupy one road outside the town I am in, I can take another path. In the end I would decide that it is not my duty to dispatch bandits, there is already other volunteers anyway... "Surely a hoard of villagers can overpower a group of bandits" I think to myself "Although I have heard many a tale about the ruthlessness of bandits in this area in particular...". I head to the guard post on the border of town, near the town gates and I implore them "Do not send wave after wave of innocent villagers to their death at the hands of these fiends! They simply do not stand a chance against the fighting prowess of the bandits!". "What gives ye the right to talk that way to us little man." He said with a deep, grainy voice, "We know what we are doing, now away with ye, we must prepare."
Disheartened I leave, knowing that there is nothing I can do to convince such an imbecile to wake up and smell the roses, at the expense of those who volunteered.
Anything else you would like to say?: This took me a long time to fill out, I just hope I am accepted xD
