Character Name: Maltor
What Race are you?: Dwarf
What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Just a typical Dwarf.
Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):
Maltor was born into a very rich family in the land of Aegis. His father owned a very well-to-do mining company at the time in the grand city of Kramoreo. As a young dwarf, Maltor received whatever he wished. When he wanted something, his father got it for him. Maltor grew to be very spoiled his entire childhood. He never went to school and lived with his family as he became 20 year old dwarf. As he progressed through is easy life, he never knew what it was like to work, or to feel hungry, or in danger, but that all changed when the war came to his city.
Maltor heard of the undead and the victory sieges on neighboring kingdoms, but he never anticipated what came to his cities walls. He remembered his father joking by the fire “My god, it be only a matter of time till them devils come here”. “What if they do come here?” Maltor would always ask. “Then we will leave with all the Ale we can fit in our pouches!” He would joke. The undead launched a massive invasion against the Kingdom of Kramoreo. Families were scattered, houses were looted, and people were scared. Maltor was no different. He was separated from his family when trying to leave the city. All of Maltor’s family’s possessions evaporated into the thin, bloodshed air. Maltor was crushed and scared emotionally for 20 more years of his Dwarven life. The things he saw, what he lost, turned to be a fatal blow to the young dwarfs who, for so long, lived a comfortable life.
Eventually the undead drained the life out of Aegis, the wandering wizard was killed, and it seemed all hope was lost. Maltor was staying in an Elven refugee camp at the time when Asulon was introduced. Maltor was one of the lucky once to get a early trip to this new and mysterious continent. Eventually when more people came he followed his fellow dwarves to the far west and came across this rich mountain. The Dwarven leaders at the time decided this is where there new capital will be. Maltor watched as the mountain was transformed into a fully sustainable fortress and new homes were formed in the caves and tunnels. The mountain was named Mount Ire. Maltor was now, for the first time, very poor. He had nothing but the cloths on his back and a few pieces of bread. As he looked around for a job, he quickly found that no one was willing to hire him. His non educated past was coming back to haunt him. The only job he was able to find was a street sweeper. He was very angry how no one would hire personnel with his background. His father was rich and Maltor thought he deserved more then to clean tunnels and caverns. He soon saw it as if he refused this job he would starve or become a beggar. So, reluctantly he took the job. He cleaned streets for, what seemed like a life time, 5 years till he decided enough was enough.
As the son of a Miner, he did know a thing or two about mining. Diamond stay next to lava deep in the crust. If he could become a miner and find some valuable minerals, he could get rich, very rich. He could follow his father’s footsteps to greatness and wealth. There was only one problem. Maltor did not have the money to pay for a mine or a pickaxe for that manner so he worked for a year longer, barley making ends meat. Eventually he got saved enough money to buy a somewhat decent pickaxe and had some Minas left over too, but still knew he could not afford to mine anywhere but that all changed soon.
While cleaning the streets one day, Maltor stumbled across a sign that said “ Xanthos Digsite &Mine Come all ye miners, seekers of riches & explorers to Xanthos Digsite. All mining be free! An ambitious construction spearheaded by the courageous Builders Guild and their captain, Tobias De Rackram.” Maltor was fascinated. The money he had left over was just the right amount to get in the boat. He had 173 Minas. Enough for one trip so he had to make it count. He packed up his pickaxe and the only cloths he had and traveled to the Docks next to the Temple of Asulon. He landed soon after departing and was ready to bring his family name dignity once again.
Maltor is a 41 year old Dwarf who loves to drink. If he could afford it, he would be drinking all the time. He found that drinking really makes him forget about his dark past. It makes him forget about his family, and everything he lost that dark night. He has a long, red beard and wears a brown cap with brown pants. He does not have a shirt because it usually didn’t get too cold where he lived in the mountain. He has very brownish eyes and braids in his beard.
Maltor’s personality is somewhat on the weaker side. He was never taught how to fight but he can swing an axe. Maltor can be sensitive when it comes to war and cannot deal with hardships too well. He constantly lingers in the past where he did not have to work and got what he wanted when he wanted. Having to work was a real game changer and went into culture shock for a while. Maltor can get very angry when people make remarks of his lost family. Maltor was born a skilled miner but not a fisherman or farmer. He can’t stand to do either of those in any way, shape, or form.

He would first look around to see if there was anyone around to possibly assist him. He found no one and as he was looking the hafling’s bullying is getting worse. Maltor would feel bad but he would be thinking of himself first and for most and wouldn’t dare pick a fight with someone. Maltor: Please sir, I will die if you can’t help me!
Stranger: Fine, I suppose we could make a trade, say what do ye have in that bag?
*Maltor opens bag*
Maltor: I have some coal I picked up in a cave that I took shelter in from a storm a couple nights ago.
Stranger: Here, I will give you 5 loaves of bread and a bucket of water for 5 coal.
*Maltor carefully hands coal to stranger*
