  1. Name: Riker Crosswall Place an X besides the name of the candidate you wish to vote for: - Thorin Grandaxe X - Dreek Stormhammer - Davern Frostbeard
  2. Out-Of-Character Information Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate. Minecraft Account Name: ssej11996 How old are you?: 17 Time-Zone: Pacific (US) Time Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: Yes What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: Lots of video games and several other MC servers How did you hear about the the Lord of the Craft?: A friend Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: Have you posted this application on the Minecraft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above): Have you read the Human lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: yes. Definitions In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!: Role-playing: Choosing an initial character or style and sticking to it. This chosen role would define my character, and breaking character at any point would ruin the effect created by the role-playing. Meta-gaming: Using or conveying information your character wouldn't otherwise have. This could mean, for example, meeting a friend in LoTC and using their character name without having met them. Power-emoting: Using either overpowered or completely unbalanced emotes while interacting with other people- in a similar fashion to that friend we all have had growing up who would always say "no, I dodged that bullet" every time you *pew pew* at him. In-Character Information: Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: Riker Crosswall Current Age: 23 Sub-race (if any): Northerner Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Born into a well off family of bankers and entrepreneurs, Riker's future, both financial and social, seemed to be set for him. Receiving an extensive and comprehensive education, Riker learned many important skills including swordsmanship, wilderness survival, architecture, and above all: business. By the age of 14 Riker had already began to manage certain aspects of Crosswall Commerce's finances. As a child, Riker was taken care of by his mother and sister, however, his stern and abusive father's command always loomed over him. Riker didn't care much for his family, and believed he only even had to see them due to their blood relation. Riker's father was a gambling man. His debts had always been covered by the Crosswall's extensive coffers. When Riker was 23, however, Mr. Crosswall owed too much money to a large and powerful group of bandits. Upon returning home one night after sneaking out to meet some friends, Riker found his home ransacked and his father, mother, and sister all dead. Rushing to his home's basement, he found the Crosswall vault to be barren. Devout of money and resources, both Crosswall Manor & Commerce were seized and dissolved by the authorities due to overdue tax payments. Homeless, penniless and determined, Riker Crosswall set out into the world looking for opportunity. He cared not to avenge his family- viewing it as a waste of time and energy. He wanted only to regain his family's wealth for himself. Finding it initially difficult to employ his business skills through the countryside, Riker found himself developing his swordsmanship and cunning as a sell sword. However, for every bandit that fell to his sword, he always found himself recalling the piles of gold within the old family vaults. He passed over the order of the white rose, preferring to remain solo and deciding that the monetary gain was too low. As he matured, this attitude began to fade away, replaced only by a personal ambition for wealth by any legal means possible. He became willing to sink to any level of personal dignity, so long as he got payed. Ambitions for the Future: Riker's one and only ambition is to reestablish his wealth either by recreating Crosswall Commerce or by any other means necessary. Personality: Riker is obsessive, ambitious, greedy, narcissistic, commanding, somewhat of a pathological liar, and yet at the same time, incredibly charismatic. He seems to always morally validate his actions to himself, as if he just barely can convince his own mind that his somewhat sleazy business techniques are fair. Skills: His education allows him to employ impressive skill in finance, while his personal ventures taught him how to handle a sword. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): http://imgur.com/hSOSg1e Any other details you wish to share about your character:[/b] Riker will stop at nothing to reestablish his fortune, and if that requires underhanded business deals- so be it. Open-Response-Questions[ Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do? Answer: Riker takes note of the hooded figure and is suddenly lost in thought. He Weighs the situation and the pros and cons. On one hand, chaos and fear tend to stimulate business sales, in on the other, this is an opportunity to gain favor in the eyes of the Emperor. Choosing the latter, he quickly rushes towards the guards shouting dramatically to catch their attention. "That man! Over there! I believe he intends to cause harm toward the Emperor! Stop him!" he pants theatrically. Mr. Crosswall thinks to himself "this is my chance, I need not even exert energy to stop this fellow and to be known as 'the man who saved the Emperor,' I wonder if I'll receive an estate for my heroic actions!" His motive has nothing to do with love of state or king, it has only to do with his personal status. Riker cannot pass up on the opportunity to spread his name and would make it known to the guards even the king if possible that it was he who first noticed the shadowy figure. He may even demand payment for his endeavor. 2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react? Answer: Riker hides in the bushes near the house and watches the scene unfold. "Let us in old man." The larger bandit grunts. "No. A man's home is his castle, and I will not let you into my castle!" the man shouts. His faint voice can just barely make it over the sounds of the bandit's laughter. "This man stands no chance." Riker thinks to himself, "I wonder if I should intervene." He glances at his sword, wondering its use against the two much larger men. Riker decides that ultimately he shouldn't put his own life in jeopardy for the sake of an old man, who's to say they wouldn't both simply be killed. As he sneaks away he hears a loud shout from the direction of the cabin, now completely out of sight. Riker's heart sinks as he realizes the fate of the man. He chokes back tears and continues on his long and lonely march. He recalls what his father taught him so many years before: "Don't care about anything or anyone. It is you against the world, and you need to make sure you stick your foot down the world's throat. Do you think I got where I am now by caring about other people?!" "No, dad i don't." Riker mumbles as he tries to forget the poor old man. 3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens). Answer: Riker's focus would immediately be drawn towards the iron bars lying on the table. "At last! True raw supplies!" "Good sir!" Riker says while examining the iron. "I do believe this is fake." He taps the iron slightly allowing the dull *tink* to reverberate through the stall. "Do you hear that? Normal iron echos for nearly 6 times as long! If you think for a second I will pay anything but dirt prices for this forgery of common metal you are certainly mistaken! These seem to be only 1/4 solid iron! The rest is simply melted cobblestone" "What do you mean?" the man asks. "I received that shipment from the mines just yesterday. "Then I'm sorry to say you have been swindled. You're lucky I shall make any offer at all for these... I'll pay 6 minas for each of these." Knowing very well this was almost 25% of the normal price, Riker's little lie may just have allowed him to purchase a large enough quantity of iron to create a mine track. Before his conscience can reprimand him, he reassures himself "The man had no other customers, he was lucky to have received even a single mina for any of his wares."
