Out-Of-Character Minecraft Account Name: TheMacMan91 How old are you?: 21 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: United States (Eastern Standard Time) Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a stereotypical nerd. Most of my life I have played roleplaying games (Shadowrun, D&D 1st, 2nd and 4th editions, and even played on World of Warcraft roleplaying servers. I love stepping out of my boring world as an IT guy and going on great adventures. How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 35+ hours What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: I know much about roleplaying from my experience with tabletop gaming and some online roleplaying. Roleplaying to me is basically my life. Any chance I have to get with a group of people and play a roleplaying game I take What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: I've been roleplaying since I was 10 (11 years now). I have a long history with Dungeons and Dragons and Shadowrun. From the 7 layers of Hell to the futuristic scenes of Seattle Seattle, I have seen a lot from a roleplaying life. In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta-gaming is using outside knowledge to benefit your character. So say a thief steals 20 gold from me. In game I do not know who stole it but out of character I do. If I were to automatically go after the thief and get my gold back, I would be committing the biggest roleplaying sin of all time - Meta_gaming In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: This would be someone forcing a fellow gamer to accept an act without a chance of failing. If I said "I'm stealing 20 gold from you" and did not give a chance of failure, I would be power-emoting What do you expect this server will be like?: From what I have seen it looks to be a very colorful roleplaying environment. I love the look and feel of the world and from the approval process I expect only true roleplayers will be on the server. What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: In terms of MineCraft, I have played on a friend's hosted server. I left because it lacked a roleplaying aspect Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes How did you hear about us?: I found a skin on the Skindex that was named "lotc dwarf" so I googled LotC, and now I'm here :) Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: Yes. Link: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/61682-themacman91s-application-r3/page__p__482848#entry482848 In-Character: Character Name: Sauumaros Leonan What Race are you? (You may only be Human, Orc, Elf or Dwarf!) : Human What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): Southeron Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.): I was born in the year 28 in the city of Arethor. My father was a trader in the market, and as a boy I would help him with the shop. I would sweep the floors and dust off the goods my father was selling. In the year 38, after I turned 10, my parents were both claimed by the Plague. My father had caught it from a customer and brought it to my mother. I was sent off to an orphanage that was run by the church. Before I was sent off to the orphanage, I attempted to run my dad’s stand. I failed to keep it and ended up working with one of my dad’s closest friend and attending his shop. This is where I really honed in on diplomatic skills. However, my dad’s friend could not keep me so I was sent to the orphanage. Until this time in my life, I had only attended church and worked with my dad. Working with my dad, I had started to learn about owning a shop. My dad had taught me how to barter and get a better deal for ourselves and the customer. Unfortunately, he had passed before I could take over the shop. The passing of my parents allowed me to open new doors in my life. It was here that I was taught about religion, being it was required by the orphanage. I found my love of the church. The history of it all, the organization, everything just amazed me. I now am striving to become a beacon for the church. Since I am now 20, I can leave the orphanage and do as I please. I am now going to the church in Arethor to talk to the Arch Bishop to gain my priesthood and spread the knowledge of God What are your Character's ambitions?: To become a priest and spread my knowledge. I hope to one day be a priest in a settlement's church. What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): A hoe. I use this to help the farmers and feed the needy people of the Holy Oren Empire What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? I am skilled in diplomatic and religious talents A screenshot of your skin (must be in proper format, if you do not know how to acquire one, copy and paste this link into your browser: ( http://tinyurl.com/Lotcscreenshot ): Other Information about your Character: Open-Response-Questions Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? I approach the trio and ask "May I be of assistance here?" Being a man of the cloth I am obligated to help in any way possible and avoid any violence. Being a Southeron, I attempt to use a diplomatic approach to reach a peaceful resolution. Either with money or with goods, but never resolving the conflict with violence. Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? I ask if the merchant has any clothing or food I could buy from him. The merchant replies "Oh yes, here are the items you have requested. 100 Minas please". I kindly try to talk the merchant into perhaps lowering the price, for I only have 75 minas on me. After some compromise, I select less good for a manageable price. The goods will go towards those in need so I have no problem spending the minas on me for the items. Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: I look around the hut for anybody nearby. If I do not find anybody, I will pray for the occupant's protection and find the nearest guard. If the occupant is in trouble, I will try to assist any any way possible. Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? I ask the greeter, "Can anyone here assist me?" "What seems to be the problem? You aren't looking so good friend". I tell them that I seem to be lost and could use some food. In exchange I can assist with crops or trading. My father was a trader, after all. The traders help me out and I assist them any way I can. Then I jump onto the next cart out of the camp going to the next city. You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Anything else you would like to say?: I would like to thank you all for the time to review this application and ask for any criticisms to make my application better
