Our city, once Silver and glorious was a grand monument, an ode to our extravagants. We once held knowledge and wisdom similarly important, never did we act without forethought. Alas such times are now behind us, and we are now met with adversity akin to Durion and his failed coup. Our Silvers walls are now decorated with falsity, corruption, and filth alike.
We are poisoned lliran, on our own free will we drank the goblet and willfully set in motion our systematic undoing. The platypus seemed endearing and kind, yet under its claw it bore the venom which it used to deteriorate our society. Once we were pure of mind, we acted rationally and logically. Once we were pure of blood, ensuring only those with High Elven mentality stepped foot in our city. Once we were great, but are no longer.
Before my long departure and before we came to these new lands, I served dutifully as your Sohaer. Never did I flippantly tread on our traditions under the guise as their sole follower, never did I bend our words willfully in an attempt to gain what I desired, and never should our Sohaer commit such molestation of our culture. I will not further scorn the platypus for vaguely kin he may be, his faults shine brightly enough for all to see - These errors were made, they must be undone in order to clean the grime from our Silver walls.
I will conclude with this lliran - We have strode far from our path, and now stand leaderless and dazed. We can turn away now, and once again stand stalwart with our gleaming Silver walls, mentality, and purity intact. As your Sohaer, I will be the teacher and guide which is required, I assure you of this.

Dwyn stands in confusion as suddenly mages start flailing around practically in unison. He decides to send a letter to Aelu to ask 'the fuck happened to mages today'
They hosted a harlem shake, and you weren't invited.

With victory in the war against the Admins, iMattyz proceeded to complete his witch hunt. As they had in the Duchy of duck Skype chat; pyres burned in GM Work and the Off Topic section of the forums, lands now liberated by of new Yorkshireman monarch. In his drive for moral renewal, simple Adrians, Dwarves, Dark Elves and Byrophites - all supposed heretics, were murdered in droves. For many, freedom beneath iMattyz's sceptre proved more tragic than servitude to another.
You can barely tie your shoes, let alone off someone. Calm down imattyz...

As this current GM Trial comes to a close, the need to look into the GM apps has arisen again.
As per usual, it feels like I have an incredibly slim pool to pick from, making it a large struggle to pick three new GMs. Anyone who has interest in the position, I highly suggest just making an app and seeing where it takes you!If you have initiative, drive and something you'd like to change on the server, apply. I'm looking forward to those applications!
Edit: I'll be looking at the apps for the next two days.

How snide.

If you don't play Dark Souls, we can't be friends.

Take a little time away, think we all need it from time to time. GM banter chat is always flowing with gold if you want to pop in.
All aboard the Banter Bus (:

"What went wrong" isn't acknowledging what you did you make your playerbase mad. All I see in the OP is you saying how attacked you were by various members of the halfling community in the skype chat, how you got sick, and how you failed to communicate with Urasept.
I'm still not justifying volatile attitudes on either side and obviously no one can fault you for getting sick, that said;
The first step to better relations is to state that you understand how the other side is mad and instead of that all this is is just painting how everything went wrong because the stars werent' aligned, and how rude those other guys are, effectively attempting to damage their credibility
Art I don't want to sit here, trying to pick apart your post, but...
I understand what you're trying to say, and what you mean - But all of this has been clarified in the op, and my comment to Heff. Me being sick has nothing to do with it, aside from not being able to handle this sooner, nor am I offended with how nayone has acted in Skype.
If you didn't read Ura's post, he apologized for going over the teams head, I'm unsure of how much more "oops i did something bad" he could make it.
This isn't about who was right, or who was wrong; I made this post to clarify what went wrong, and to be transparent.

1) acknowledge your faults.
2) Fix the problem, dont go on about how targetted you are.
1) In the op, it clearly states what went wrong.
2) In the op, it clearly states that my offer stands to resolve the problem.
And taking the village we've been working on since the start of Vailor is the way to resolve the issue? What bothers me most is that no staff member will acknowledge that telling us to start over isn't the right course of action. Sure, it's the rules, but why are the rules there in the first place if they only piss people off and complicate RP for OOC reasons?
I implore you to read the entire post. This shouldn't even be a factor, considering the offer I've given three times now.
On TS the first time, in the second skype chat I was added to, and this post. Ura literally said the same thing in his own post.
Edit: Cmack, your original paragraph contradicts your second. You demonize Staff for making you rebuild, and when it's confirmed that's not true, you cross your arms and say "well we dont wanna".

You were kicked because you weren't doing anything to help us, just moaning and complaining that we were "ganging up on you" and generally being annoying by not listening to our points.
I had refered to "ganging up on staff" once. Previous to that, we were discussing the issue, up until Dalek demanded I was removed from the chat when you "made your point".
Stomping your feet, shouting when things aren't going your way isn't any way to resolve the issue. You asked me to talk about it, I agreed, and I was added to a chat and yelled at. Although I understand why you would be upset, and I don't blame you for being upset, I expect you to be able to act rationally while in a discussion.
I don't even hold the banter against you, I undertsand why you're mad. But this is a fine example of why its been difficult to resolve anything. There's a clear unwillingness to do anything but get ones own way.

Warning: there is no TL;DR, read thoroughly!
Recently I’ve gotten very sick, quite suddenly, making me bedridden and unable to officially make any statement on this Halfling situation.. During my disappearance, I’ve had to lightly handle this Halfling fiasco when I had the time, and it seems to have gradually been blown out of proportion. A lot of false information and skewed truths are being tossed about, and I have grown quite disappointed at this stage. I will try to promptly explain the timeline of these events, to perhaps offer a more broad understanding of how this issue has arisen.
- Halflings were gonna get land in 5.0. Yes 5.0, not 4.5. There was originally a 5.0, however the project hadn’t progressed as we had hoped. It was later canceled.- 5.0 was clearly not an actuality, and so I asked permission to lead dev for 4.5. Feelings changed, we wanted land ownership to be more rare(we can talk about why we made this decision at the community meeting), and so the Halflings were taken off the list, along with others. Salvus and the Caliphate were not active, so we decided to give them a deal: We would give them land, they needed to keep active on 4.5, or we turn their city into an event ruin, and essentially evict them.
- Release comes, that night when we’re doing the event, Read comes to me asking to give halflings land, I was originally apprehensive, but she suggested the same deal for the Halflings, which we gave to Salvus and the Caliphate. I agreed regardless of what the GMs had decided, and we went ahead.
- I’m unsure as to why, but apparently the Halflings never heard of this deal (or this is what they express). I presume that maybe the leader which was told, didn’t express it to the others, and eventually left. However I’m simply guessing.
- Recently in a GM meeting, we spoke about the Halflings, we agreed the city wasn’t being used at all, so we decided to warn them that the time was soon if they didn’t pick it up. Ricky was simply the bearer of bad news.
- Time passes, no change, not even a word of concern. We presume the message was clearly received, and so we warned that their stuff needed to be moved out before the due date
- Sudden outrage, and anger. A lot of slander, and other nonsense. As this all began, I knew where the confusion sprouted from, and I could understand the irritation. I was more than open to finding a new plot of land for the Halflings (a more suitable size, maybe closer to spawn). I was then put in the Halfling chat, and essentially ganged up on. I asked for a calmer disposition, and a relaxed means of conversation, in turn Dalek told Heff “just kick him” and then I was given a several paragraphs, and kicked without the time to remotely respond.
- I was rightly confused for the sudden hostile nature, and messaged Heff. I told him I’m not up for the petty nonsense, and told him a different suggestion on how to resolve the Halfling land issue. I also offered to talk about it on TS later, to try to find a more suitable spot of land. Later on TS (when speaking to another Halfling, not Heff) I offered to World Edit out their homes to their new land, so they didn’t have to struggle with rebuilding.
- Later that night, I had heard what happened to me, happened with several GMs. They were added to chats, yelled at, and ganged up on, in an attempt to persuade them. Many of the GMs had gotten very frustrated at this point, as no clear hand was reached out to the Staff, and only harsh words. Normally I can understand the irritation, but all of it seemed so premeditated, it was very clear some of these players didn’t mind being so rude.
- I had gotten far more sick, and was bedridden for a few days, and upon my return found Ura had overturned the GM Teams decision regarding the Halfling land. I had explained why the GMs felt the way they did, and we held a final vote, and it was almost unanimous, finally bringing us to Ura’s post, and the further confusion.
So now we’re here. I have heard some pretty deplorable things regarding this entire situation as it has progressed. “Moot is trying to take the land for himself and his necromancers(I’ve never roleplayed a necromancer)”, “The Staff are targeting us”, “They lied about [blank]”. The fact that anyone could possibly think the Staff are out to get them, just makes me sigh.
I’m by no means averse to resolving this issue, but I need the Halflings to take a deep breathe, and come talk to me instead of blowing this up needlessly on the forums. This doesn’t need to be such an issue it has been made out to be.
With that explained, and once again our hand offered to help the Halflings, I have another topic I wanted to bring up to the community.

While writing this, I knew I wanted to bring up an important topic regarding the moderation teams. I’m unsure of how it’ll be received, but I hope it will offer a unique perspective for some.
The GMs, FMs, and any other moderation team get it really rough, generally undeservingly. They try their best to make people happy, but what makes one person happy, often times makes others angry. There is often no right answer, and sometimes the right answer is difficult to make. They are expected to stay active(modreq’s, forum work, ect), to act professional, approachable, and be role models for the server.
Moderators will get shit for being professional, not being professional enough, making the “wrong” decision, or just enforcing the rules they’re supposed to enforce. More often than not, being Staff is largely thankless, aside from the few rare times. Regardless of what the they do, they will be given a hassle and will be largely disliked for whatever they do. Yet, they continue to do it anyways.
I hope this offers some perspective.53 -

Kalameet chortles, shaking his head as he laughs to himself. He looks up, offering his rebuttal.
"It's curious to see, how easily allegations are formed, and not defended with evidence, nor a face to debate with. How unfortunate of circumstances! Less I see a face, this is nothing but idle banter and slander. I'd hope other Mali'aheral aren't so slow to eat up such propaganda."

Laethis lies in his room, writing a new entry in his journal. He draws the quill to his lips, pondering how to end the entry. Finally, he grins, scribbling the final words.
When you come at an Izalith, you best not miss.
Kalameet smiles the Spider's smile.
"You come at the King, you best not miss."

Transfiguration encompasses Transmutation, Enchanting, and Warding/Abjuration - as in they're one magic, split into three sections. Air evocation, Sensory Illusion, Ascended magic.
That's four magics, with three masteries. We have a two masteries cap... So unless Ascended doesn't count necessarily, that's a no-go. I'm not very savvy with Ascended magic, so I'll leave that for now.
I'll touch lightly on the definitions on the Voidal magics.- Wind Evocation: Correct.
- Sensory Illusion: Convoluted, not quite right.
- Transfiguration: Enchanting is correct, however your definition for Transmutation (which you call alteration) isn't quite right, nor is Warding quite right.
- Ascended: We'll get someone else to handle that.
You mentioned the story "changing". When it comes to magic, this just happens. We have lore in place, just in case we need to drastically alter the magic on LotC, so that's simply likely to happen. We all have to adapt.
For now, you're good to go with Wind Evocation, the other two are denied due to poor understanding of the magic. As for Ascended, you'll have to wait for someone else to handle that. I suggest contacting me if you'd like a run-down on the changes to magic since you were gone, so we can correct these definitions.
Apologies for the inconvenience.1 -
What will you be roleplaying?

I was originally going to leave quietly and not bother with a post or anything, but I thought it’d be nice to say my farewells and provide a little transparency before I depart.
I’m not going to do anything super special, or go out with a bang. I enjoyed my time on the server, and I wouldn’t want to spite any of my team, or players regardless of our affiliation. I do however want to thank all of you for the crazy experience Lotc provided, it was truly unique and I’m glad I was given the opportunity to be an Admin, and Lead the GM team (specifically thanks to Ura). Lotc is far from perfect, and I’d be lying to you if I didn’t admit that it’s quite **** right now. But I learned a lot from Lotc, and I’m appreciative of that fact.
As for why I’m leaving, it’s quite simple actually. For those of you who have attended the community Q&A’s, you may have heard me say this: I’m of the strong belief that Lotc’s faults aren’t primarily due to the players, like Staff once tried to attest. I believe the only reason Lotc has struggled so much, is the lacking uniformity the staff posses.
It’s simply that. I became staff to try to rectify the issue I saw, I meant to standardize, to enforce protocols and methods that were to ensure a consistency across our staff. That’s exactly what I did with the GM Team, and what I wanted to see happen with the Admins. It quickly became evident what the issue truly was, and this most recent forum change is the most greatest example of it. There is a huge lack of communication, respect, and consistency in upper staff, not to mention dishonesty and embezzlement.
And although I still have tons of motivation to work for Lotc, with many ideas and plans to try to improve our situation - I’m not going to volunteer for someone who doesn’t respect me, my team, my co-workers, or our players.
To the Staff and my friends, although I’m gone, I’ll always be here if you need me. Stay gold, ponyboy.
