What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: Role-playing is assuming a role and playing with others to create a story. Out of Character is when one is talking while not role-playing. This would be talking about real life matters or having a friendly conversation while not portraying your character. This is only to be done in the OOC channel.

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):
Born into a rather unextraordinary family living in Kal'Dwain, Rorik was the second child born, his older brother, Dulku having been born before him. From a very young age, a deep hatred for the Orcs was instilled into Rorik. His father, Ivan, having fought in many battles against the orcs used to spew tales of the Orc's cruelty and savagery over the dinner-table, even if this wasn't necessarily true. Rorik's father had lost a hand in the war and every time Rorik had to witness his father unable to do a simple task, his hatred for the Orcs only grew.
At an early age, Rorik was taken under his uncle's wing to learn the art of smithing. His uncle and Rorik slaved tending to the hot fires of the forge and their bond grew. Rorik learned to trust and respect his uncle, until the incident happened. Rorik's uncle began to take advantage of Rorik, asking Rorik to do things he did not want to do. Rorik, unable to tell his father about this, miserably continued the meetings with his uncle. When his uncle died in a mining accident, Rorik was nonplussed, for he still loved his uncle but found himself elated at the fact he would no longer be taken advantage of. From then on, Rorik stayed as far away from the forge as possible, greatly disappointing his father.
At the age of twenty-five seasons, Rorik's father ordered Rorik to leave the house and come back with something that would helped the dwarves, a pilgrimage of sorts. Rorik was easy-going about the pilgrimage at first, traveling Asulon and visiting places he had never been before, however after about a year Rorik began to grow nervous, knowing he would have to show up with something in hand or risk disappointing his already overbearing father. Rorik always having shown a knack for art, decided to sculpt a statue of the great Cloud Temple he had witnessed during his travels.
Rorik returned home and to his astonishment found his parents delighted. His mother, who had always been very supportive of Rorik made sure to bake him his favorite meal and many pats on the back were received from his father. For quite possibly the first time in his life, Rorik felt at ease. That night however, Rorik's father took him aside and sucked away all of Rorik's happiness. Rorik's father stated he was ashamed of his son,who had returned home with a useless statue. Rorik's father continued to belittle Rorik, even claiming that he wished that Rorik had never been born. Devastated, Rorik went to bed that night with many tears falling on his pillow.
Unable to find his niche within the Dwarven society, Rorik continues to go day by day within Kal'Dwain. Rorik reluctantly smiths with his brother, Dulku who has proven to be one of the few people Rorik has a stable relationship with. After developing an illness in his lungs, Rorik's father is close to death. Rorik, hoping to appease his father at least once while he is still living , is trying in what seems vain to find a way to please his father.
Rorik is very sullen and withdrawn, having lived a life filled with torment. Rorik has problems with trusting authority figures, especially after the incident with his uncle. Rorik however understands the value of hardwork, putting effort into his craft. Rorik has a great yearning to express himself though art but after being put down for his art by his father, Rorik is reluctant to do anything with his skill.
Rorik is muscular, a result of the Dwarven lifestyle, however among the Dwarves he is on the scrawnier side. Rorik wears a leather brace with a light undergarment. Leather bracers adorn his arms, a gift from his brother. Leather is a theme prevalent in his attire, as he also wears leather boots and pants. The color of his eyes are the darkest of brown, one might even call them black. Rorik has a fine golden mustache and beard which he keeps well groomed. His bald head is known to shine quite a bit, something other Dwarves commonly make fun of. Rorik is currently 32 seasons of age.
What are your Character's ambitions?:
Rorik has a deep desire to become a sailor and travel the seas of Asulon, however he knows his father would no appreciate this and refrains from mentioning it. Rorik's greatest ambition is to please his father, only if even for a moment.
What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc):
Rorik's favorite tool would be the paintbrush, the canvas is the only place in which he can truly express himself.
What is one of your Character's most skilled talents?
Rorik has an uncanny sense of direction, able to navigate himself out of mazes quite easily. As a result, Rorik always seems to know which way is north, south, et cetera.

Rorik shakily reaches into pockets and grabs the required coinage, as he hands the money to the shop keep, he drops it, the coins skittering in all manner of directions. “Oh my! My bad, sorry.” Rorik mumbles as he awkwardly picks up the dropped money. As Rorik leaves the stall with his paintbrushes he is as red as a tomato.
Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:
Rorik scrambles into the hut, not wanting to be seen entering. Rorik glances at the items in the chest and thinks to himself, “Ha! Finally I've hit a bit of luck!” Rorik nabs the items and leaves the hut, thinking to himself all the goods he could buy after selling the loot. Hours later however, Rorik grows nervous. “Oh man! What if someone saw me take the items? What if it was the loot of a bandit chief?! What if they're after me as I'm thinking this!?” Rorik darts back to the hut, returning the items and even leaving some more in the chest, a show of apology for his theft.
Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond?
“Hello there, gentlemen, er, woodsman, or lumberjacks? Are you lumberjacks?” Rorik nervously asks. After being accomdated, Rorik would politely ask, “Say, do you have anything to eat, er it doesn't have to be much! All I need is a piece of bread, I'm an able hunter.” Rorik's stomach protests, as he is actually starving and a bit of bread wouldn’t do much but Rorik refuses to be a burden. After receiving the bread, Rorik would go on his way, scouting the area for berries or fruit trees he could eat from.
You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:
“A reward you say?” Rorik ponders for a moment and then decides to go along with the men. “I'm always in need of a bit of coin and if they're bandits, they deserve it! Nothing bad will happen to me, I'll just hover in the back of the group and if things get nasty, I'll skedaddle!” Rorik clings to the back of the group, sword in hand and when they arrive at the bandit outpost, Rorik, having grown too fearful would get the heck out of dodge and abandon the group, leaving them to fend for themselves against the bandits. “Whew, that was a close one! I guess no amount of money is worth risking my life for...”
