I think RP of professions is something for your plesure if you want to make more RP around professions may I suggest...

I think out of all the professions, making weapons and armour should be a lot more complex, with multiple parts and possible benefits depending on the quality of these. I think the interdepndability of professions can create RP, like for alchemists who have to draw their resources and training from others and someone who knows how to do the recipe after time and experimentation.

 

This will also create more value for professions, yes you may be a legendary blacksmith but that is only in skill, an only apprentice blacksmith may be able to make better armour than you through time and research.

 

Now there is the one problem, we are not all rich enough to put hours into experimenting with recipes like with enchanting and alchemy (admittedly this is a WIP) and what about the provider skills. Your farmers, breeders, miners and lumberjacks. These skills also have a way to be valued more, for they are the providers, their RP is in trade but the higher levels among these professions they get rare drops and caskets. This is the answer, these caskets are very rare but already offer aid for enchanting, general levelling and alchemy, what is stopping some of these drops being recipes(or in the case of your diamond gear part of a recipe).

 

If the forms were against letting these recipes on the forms to avoid OOC go around for new players who then because of probably not knowing anyone on the server has to RP to be taught a skill... RP FOR ALLL!

 

EDIT: Also that makes your character have more value and build more for their story be becuase if your a baker who is known for making a special kind of apple pie and all the people buy your pies etc, also could create cultural things like the dwarfs all eat salted meat...

Thanks for the +1, I agree three sounds a lot but let me put it like this. For the Media Team I take screen shots to make places look nice etc which is within game, Application team, obviously is forum based but I like to then go into the server to make sure the new player know how to start, Being a GM combines the two positions I hold +_=

What is a GM’s role in the community, and how would you see yourself fitting in it as a GM?:

A Game Moderators role would be to help keep order within the server and forums; They are to help with players questions using the Modreqs and to help settle situations within the community. As the name suggests the role is to help moderate the areas of the server from Ban Reports to RP, they must not delve to a side nor fend for a friend, to keep mutual in both sides would be the ideal GM. As mentioned before it would be their job to keep the player base happy and content with the roleplaying experience and good relationship with the players means they will come back for more at a later date. We wouldn't have such an extensive player base if not.
 
 
Why are you applying to be a GM?:
 I have chosen to make this application not because I want to give back to the server, but I want to be able to be in its future, help develop the player base and settle disruptions. I have been on this server for just over a year now and watch it hit the highs and lows but never has the community crumbled. Yes there have been moments but the LotC Team has managed to put it back on its feet. I personally want to be a Gm to help with Modreq’s and player queries, I love being able to help the player base where I can both in and out of the server. The pride I get when the player thanks me is overwhelming and gives me the push to carry on helping.

Also since the change in my educational life, I have plenty of time to help LotC. I have come to the conclusion that I visit the server at least once a day, but I am most certainly always on the forums the majority of the time. I feel that the responsibility of being a Global Moderator will also help to expand and control my own personal life using what I have learnt, if given the chance to hold responsibility for keeping those around me happy.
 
The most impactful GM’s the server has had have always done more than the basic duties of a Global Moderator. What aspects of LotC aside from universal GM duties would you be willing to delve into?:

As part of the application team, I am enjoying it a lot to be able to help people with their question for applying and learning about their character gives me great pleasure to say I represent LotC on the frontline of applicants. I like to be at one with the community – In game RP is vital and good RP makes for a great player experience therefore working within the server talking to the player base and finding out what makes an enjoyable role-play experience. Also though it is required I would take great pride in doing modreqs helping where I can around the server.
 
 What members of the staff and/or community could you look to for guidance of these additional responsibilities?:

As my superiors Frottimer has really helped me to get to grips with the application team and it’s quite the same with Elindor in the media team. Both are very pleasant gentlemen and it’s a pleasure to work alongside them to help the server stay as strong as it is now. Husky has helped me with multiple modreqs within game, taking my problems and making them his to sort out.

 What faults do you believe other members of the community see in you, and how do you intend to improve on these perceived faults, if necessary?:
 Probably the biggest fault of mine is that I can sometimes try to take lead in certain situations to make sure it gets done, this can obviously annoy some people as it could come across quite rude. As my time on the server grows, I have not had anyone tell me of faults, I suppose that’s good right…No, I like criticism it helps to shape the person I am, I’d rather someone tell me where I am wrong that keep it bottled up and away from myself.
 
How much free time do you have? Will this change in the foreseeable future?:

This is just a basic guide lane to my times as I always shift my hours of work and play. As I stated before since a change in my educational life up until September I have a lot more free time then I once had. Time I can spend learning to be a Global Moderator. Obviously the times changes when it’s break as a lot more time can be put in due to no work.

Monday – Thursday: 4PM-3AM

Friday – Saturday: 10AM-3AM

Sunday: 10AM-10PM
