I.e. talking and behaving like the character and not the player in game. This also assists in character development, which although is commonly misconceived as solely the gaining of levels, however also includes the development of character storyline and personality. In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta gaming, taken from the Latin word Meta (boundary) is were you create and establise your own game, game content and/or story outside and beyond the established rules and environment of the game. Due to the broad interpretation this leaves, there are several possible refined meanings two of which are relevant to Lord of the Craft I have explained below: One such example of this is playing a game within the game, eg: the act of role playing within minecraft, whereby the game was not designed to be roleplayed in, however players have added their own storyline and self-imposed mechanics (speaking in IC not OOC as an example). This is generally a positive form of metagaming and will often be enforced. Another example in role play is the use of out of character knowledge that is used in character. One possible situation where this may occur is where a player has read OoC on a forum about someone’s details/story/name or maybe the organizing/story of an event that their character does not know of, but uses this information anyway. The use of such knowledge in character. Seeing that this is akin to plain cheating, this is almost always NOT tolerated within RP communities and groups. A similar case would be when one player knows another OoC and knows enough so that they can steer a conversation and player response to a situation/question in character the way they want. This to is heavily frowned upon whether the game is in minecraft, a M.U.D or a table top game such as D&D or pathfinder. In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Forcing the emotions/actions/behaviour of a character onto another player/character, such as insisting that you have caused physical harm or stolen from them without their prior consent and co-ordination. It can also be the forcing of emotions or reactions of your own emotes onto other players. In-Character Details Character Name: Brandon Shortarm Character Race: Human Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Brandon was born and grew up in the city of Solace with his parents and younger brother. His childhood was extremely by most standards, and despite the surname, no-one in his family did, in fact, have short arms. This, it seems, is rather beneficial, especially when the family trade is blacksmithing. By the time he was 10, his father had introduced him into the use of the forge, and despite the fact he was a child, his father insisted on putting him to work in the smithy. Once he reached the ripe age of 18, Bran (as he was more often referred to) was an able smith. After discovering the joys of alcohol, he had been locked up for excessive intoxication on several occasions. Now, at the age of 20, his father is looming ever closer to retirement, and he has never seen the world outside of Solitude before. The city had every form of trade anyone needed to survive. He believes it time to travel the world, gain new blacksmithing techniques and generally try not to become a shut-in. This it seems is also partially caused by his brother, who, whilst he gets along with, he refuses to live the same life. In this case it would mean Brandon becoming a city guard, a lawman, someone who would haply go out their way to break up a “friendly disagreement” (brawl) at a local leisure “establishment” (tavern). Sporting a full beard of reddish-brown, matching his shoulder length hair, his favourite brown trousers, and working shirt with his leather apron, Brandon sets out to discover the world at large, without landing in a stockade or saying aye too much, least he be mistaken as tall dwarf. Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? “Dwarfs are often master craftsmen, maybe I can learn the secrets of his by purchasing something and examining his craftsmanship”. After inspecting the wears, it was obvious that they are not of Dwarven origin. To not appear rude, I purchased a relatively cheap trinket, thinking that at least I could sell it on as an ingot. I found the nearest smithy and before long had the trinket glowing cherry red, yet no matter what, I could not get the trinket hot enough to re-forge. Hammer-blow after hammer-blow, the trinket retained its rigidity. My hammer was not something I could use to re-forge it, its hardness was greater than the iron of my hammer, its toughness was greater than the force my arms could exert and its strength was… well it would not yield. In the end, frustrated, I took the trinket back to the shop, the dwarf purchased it back at a fraction of the price I had paid. He may not have been a master craftsman, but as a trader, I was no match. You’re in the Cloud Sanctuary late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. The only present monk is fast asleep, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? Realising that the dwarf would never stand a chance in combat against an orc, I still found myself flinging my smithing hammer at the head of the orc. As one would expect, this upset the orc, greatly! Running up the Sanctuary, I realised that the orc was not giving chase. Turning around, I see the dwarf now beating the orc who is on the ground. “Note to self, never turn my back on an angry dwarf”, I muttered. Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: your character do?: Bending down to help the man up, I noticed a small hip flask attached to his belt. After all of his money was collected and accounted for, I offered to escort him to the nearest town for the price of a drink or two. By the end of the day, neither of us could walk properly…. We stumbled into town after dark, reeking of alcohol. No-one would provide us with board, and as we entered the last establishment, the old man insisted he do the talking. I don’t know what he said or what he paid, but the room was decent and the bed soft! When I woke up, the old man’s room had not been used, and the innkeeper had had never heard or seen him. How strange….

MC Username:Gojou Rp Username (be sure to include the correct prefix, look up on info thread):Do’Gojou Character Skillset: Sword: 60 Archery: 60 Wrestling: 60 Appearance (age, SUBRACE, gender): Gojou is a 24 year old male Kah’Trgrasi who wears a long leather trench coat and a pair of brown trousers like that worn by the various sentient apes. Personality: Gojou is a very quiet and reserved Kharajyr, which is not to say that he doesn’t speak, but he firmly believes that actions speak louder than words; one that talks about hunting will never claim the prize of a ferocious hunter. This, like many other Kah’Trgrasi, causes the impression that his physical prowess is in exchange for intelligence. Please include a short bio of your character's life: Gojou’s father was a Kha’ Pantera merchant who, with his mate, made a living as part of a trade caravan which often visited the cities and towns of the various 'hairless apes'. Despite his father’s influence within the caravan, Gojou was born a Kah’Trgrasi after his mother. This earned him the spite of many of the other kittens when growing up, which in one event resulted in Gojou leaving another kitten without his left whiskers. By the time he had become S’Gojou he had developed into a very quiet and well-built youth who, to avoid conflict with those his own age, had spent much time speaking to various foreign customers of his father and the Do’Culan and Do’Gurka that guarded the caravan. If nothing else, they respected his physical build and appearance. As a result, he gained a certain respect for the clothing worn by the various forms of 'sentient ape', if only for the usefulness of having pockets to store things -- which would often raise brows on returning to Kharajyr civilisation. Now, at the age of 24, and as a young hunter who has been working for the caravan, Gojou has decided that with the skills taught to him by the caravan guard that he should support the empire in his best capacity possible -- by joining the military as a Do’Culan. Gojou now stands around 6-feet tall and tends to wear a long leather coat and brown trousers, to help blend in to the society of apes. His fur is a pale orange with 6 stripes crossing onto his bare stomach, which when combined with the red of his eyes, gives him a very predatory look. Despite his attempts to blend into other society’s through his clothing, he has forgone the use of shoes and shirts, thinking it better to hunt with the wind on your chest and face, and your paws on the ground beneath. Character's ambitions: Gojou believes that he can best serve the empire through the military, and aspires to oneday become a Do’Kuta. _---Situational Rp Questions---_ 1. As you travel through the Karakatuan jungle, you spot a human trespassing on your nation's lands. He approaches you, obviously distressed, and asks for any food, water, or shelter that you can provide, then tells you that he has been lost in the area for days without any proper supplies. How do you react?: Gojou carefully examined the begging Ape before him, he had met many with his parents before on the trade caravan. This human was armed with a short sword and bow, how could he not have fended for himself in this bountiful jungle. I have always been taught to respect the apes he thought, but this one’s incessant wailing had scared away all possible prey. Gojou let out a low growl and hit the human in the face with a resounding crunch, knocking the ape unconscious. The pathetic ape in his incompetence had scared all the local game away, but that didn’t matter anymore, the hunt was over and gojou had just caught his prize. 2. As you romp through the lands of the "apes", you come across a tavern. Inside this tavern, a Dwarf notices you and starts gawking at you, then begins to speak. "Oi! I gots a bowl of cream for you, Kitty! Ha! I'd bet you would make a nice throw rug, wouldn't ya, ya mangy furball?!" He continues act generally as racist as possible. What do you do?: It had been a week since I have left true civilisation and entered the lands of apes Gojou thought, and I cannot even wait in peace to enjoy some cake, and this long whiskered ape jests of skinning me!. Gojou raised from his table and strode over to the dwarf, who immediately moved his hand to the axe on his belt. Although he didn’t move as fast as a Kah’Cheetrah, his speed was still vastly superior to that of the pathetic ape, and Gojou had placed his paw upon the top of the axe head stopping it from being drawn. How easy it would have been to tear out the throat of the creature before him, with his teeth bard, inches away from the dwarf’s throat. Instead of following my base instincts, cake was better, so after letting out a low threatening growl I removed my paw from the weapon and calmly sat down to await my treat. 3. One of your fellow Kharajyr and a close friend of yours comes to your dwelling in the middle of the night and begins to pound on your door. After you let him in, he confesses to killing another Kharajyr over a slice of cake. What do you do in response? After letting him finish, I sigh and get up shaking my head. I gather som basic provisions in a bag and hand them to my friend while opening the door. I never said anything but he could see in my eyes the sheer disappointment, I was going to the the Do’ but I couldn’t just hand him over like a pathetic ape. It was a parting gift from me, and a final farewell, we both new. With my friend now gon, I proceeded to go find the nearest Do’. Do you swear to follow the Tlatlanni and uphold his law, and do you swear to hold Metztli and all of her actions as sacred? I’ss pledge me’s life to the service of the Tlatlanni and vow’s to hold all actions of Metztli sacred to my last breath.
