  1. *Doctor Mandru Scott frowns, and writes a reply*

Unfortunenly, VonschlictenCo fell when an eastern traitor named Xi Swain abused his powers, selling the company to Goldman, who is now dead. However, the mages owned the potions shop the entire time; we only operated it. When Xi sold out the company, we lost the privilege to operate the clinic and potion shop in Salvus. I am Dr. Mandru Scott, last member with executive power still active at The Vonschlicten Reminants, or The Research Delartment of Hanseti, as we are called nowadays.

Therefore, I have written to tell you that we would gladly accept your offer, if we still operated the shop. But we do not have the authority, either then or now. I suggest that you contact the Mages Guild if you wish to renovate the building. They have the claims to the property. We just operated it as part of the deal, and split the profits. However, I am thinking of asking Saul if we can refound VSC, or perhaps if I myself can restart a deal with the Mages. The current management at the old Potions and Oddities shop is not profitable for the mages at ALL right now. Still, the mages own the property, not us. Try contacting one of them, such as the wizard Ambros ((Sagwart)).

    Signed,

    Dr. Mandru Scott

Cheif of Medicine and Medical Research

    Hanseti R&D

*Mandru sends the letter off to the man*

((We have no perms there since the Fall of VonschlictenCo; you'd have to ask the mages for the permissions to the property :( No harm done, Hydrose; just posting to clarify the ownership))

  2. *Mandru sees the poster, and he believes his eyes are faltering. He puts out his spectacles, and rereads the poster. He breaks into a panic.*

"Oren should have broken up the Goldman monopoly! They ignored the economy however, and focused on war. Now a depression has started by too much trust in one organization, and with it internal Chaos will follow... Better head for Vaerhaven a few days, I should... Bet the people will wish VonschlictenCo were still around as a fallback. But NO... Goldman bought us too!"

*The wise Doctor checks the exchange rate of the Mina, and is afraid it's value will start to plunge. He wishes he had invested in emeralds and gold...*

Full RP Name: Mandru Kaecillius Scott

    Race: Human

    Occupation: Doctor, Philospher, and Researcher

Skype/Teamspeak (other means of communication): I DO, but I prefer not to use them.

Clan/Guild (Optional): The Beranko Healers and the VonshlictenCo remnants

How do you know Ferron? (Optional): I have never met Ferron.

What do you wish to achive in Vaerhaven? (Optional)
:I Wish to stay in Vaerhaven a while in order to learn advanced medical arts, have a place to write my books, research, and furthermore to have something to do while my main employers are on an unspoken Hiatus. I go on many trips, and may be away from Vaerhaven for long periods of time. Still, Vaerhaven is better than any place in Oren, and the dwarven law of free speech is too much to resist. This would be a good place to live... for a while. ((If I do decide to leave altogether, though this wouldn't be for a while, I will notify a council member.))

  4. *Mandru Scott, though not owning any property in Salvus, shakes his head.*

"As if the Goldman monopoly wasn't bad enough. Now any surviving small businesses will be utterly DECIMATED by these taxes... Everyone should just pay their proportionate share, like 1/10 of what they make, not some outrageous tax that only NOBLES can afford!"

*Mandru shakes his head, still talking to himself.*

"Perhaps the Government will see what I'm talking about when the depression hits..."

    *The Doctor walks away.*

  5. *Doctor Mandru Scott sees the note, but also sees that Doctor Archdiamond has replied. He writes his own note:*

I can help as well. I have access to the finest research facilities in Oren, and am Cheif of Medicine there. If I can, I'll meet you with Doctor Archdiamond. Having two opinions could help your chances.

    --M. Scott

((Can we do a forum RP over a PM with the patient, the other doctor char, you, and I? I'm done for the night, and time zones wouldn't get in the way of things during this RP))

  6. *Mandru Scott sees the note. Reading it, a tear comes up in his eye. He wonders what will happen as he himself gets older and older, as jobs and oprotunities come and go, as he wonders around, healing people as he goes, no one stopping to listen once to his wisdom, or even thank him for his help. He wonders what his own ending will be, and how he will be remembered... He waves these thoughts off, cursing himself. Scott decides to save the philosophy for later, and writes but one personal response, pinning it under the original note:*

May you find the guild you seek. I cannot offer you a job of glorious combat and battle, but I wish you luck. The Grand Adventure never ends for those willing to pursue it. My personal belief is that healing people is the most honorable ending a man can have, for you die knowing that you have saved others, and you smile as the darkness fades in, knowing your life has been meaningful. I hope you find the ending to your story that you want.

    --M. Scott

*Scott walks away, hoping the man finds the ending he wants.*

  7. *Mandru Scott, after a long and tiring chase, fails to bring Xi in for trial AND is fired in the attempt. Having lost his home once more, he convulses in anger, and writes but one note to Xi:*

"So you want to play rough, eh, my little yellow friend...? Well then bring it on."

*Mandru chuckles, and wonders once more why Saul did not trust him enough to give him the presidency... He goes to write his books and heal people, bidding his time, doing what he did before VonschlictenCo.: wondering and bettering the world.*

  8. *Mandru Scott sees the poster, and frowns, saying to himself*

"Creator curse it! He forgot my department of medicine! IT STILL EXISTS!!! Doesn't matter if I'm Vice President now, I still head it, even IF I love researching more!"

*he continues grumbling, and goes to confront Xi about this. However, he notices that with Tear promoted and Dippel gone AWOL, he's the last one in the department. He changes his mind at the last moment, and decides to tell Xi later at the next conference*

  9. Xi,

He gave us BOTH command. You heard him, "Xi AND Mandru". Therefore, I'm asuming the position of Vice President. I'm unsure of how to proceed. I believe that VonschlictenCo will never be quite right without a Vonschlicten at the helm. I will still help, however, in the council of executives and my usual researching to see how things turn out under these reformations. Though I may be taking a less active role than normal, VonschlictenCo shall always be my home. Either that, or I'm on the streets. However, if things start to get out of hand with the reformations, I reserve the right to resign at any time.

We must call a council at once. Scribe something to all the executives. We must also inform our customers and partners, including the Mage guild, which pays the Salvus shop rent, and the Hochmeister of Hanseti. During Saul's absence. I recommend promoting Hydrose Goldhand to acting Cheif Engineer effective as of now. Also, I agree with Cecil's proposition to promote Dr. Tear to head researcher. She deserves the position, and has proven herself with the fantastic research on the Final Element.

--Mandru Scot, Cheif of medicine, Acting VP of VonschlictenCo.

  10. What will be intresting for those people like me who joined in 2.0 is the ability to play as your character's parrent or grandparent, or if they're dwarvish, orcish, or elvish, the ability to play as a younger version of one's self. .

This is expesialy exciting for me, since I based half my character's lore on the story of his grandfather in Aegis, and now I have an opritunity to play as him, and build up my favorite character's personal lore before 3.0's releasal. Maybe this temporary map isn't so bad after all...

  11. *Rathian Scott puts up another note*

"As I said, my friend and I are not mercenaries to be hired (To this comment I direct to the Hightowers). Plus, my friend was banished from the city of Solace, or do you not remember the day that you Solicians exiled him? Any guild that wishes to let us join MUST allow us both to join. We are currently considering the prospect of perhaps joining both the Asulon Outriders and the Arcane Delvers ((We may put off joining the Arcane Delvers until my friend and I both have accepted magic applications; then perhaps we may join the Arcane Delvers to search for a magic teacher))."

The note is signed, once again, by Rathian Scott and William Ive.

  12. -Rathian Scott and William Ive check the replies. They consider them for awhile; Rathian writes up another reply, and pins it under his original paper-

"To all three guilds who have asked us to join, we are considering only two of them. Since neither my friend nor I are soldiers, but rangers, we respectfully decline the request posted by the Knight Obsidio. However, we are still considering the Arcane Delvers or the Asulon Outriders. I would like to meet this Kalenz Uradir outside of the Mageshield headquarters in Ildon, a small city in the nation of Salvus, inside the Holy Oren Empire. As for the Asulon Outriders, we shall endeavor to visit your island ((Is there any quick way to get to it?)). Both of you sound like our type of guilds, and we will visit both before making any decisions. We will discuss the rest in person at both locations, starting with the Arcane Delvers."

The note is signed with the same signatures as the last one.

  13. A piece of paper, apparently torn from a journal, is pinned to the wall. It is written in black ink. It reads the following:

"Hello, my name is Rathian Scott. My friend, William Ive and I, are searching for a guild with which we can earn some Minos and gain experience in various subjects. I, for one, am a 27 year old, Human, and well-educated ranger expirienced in survival who would like to gain expirience in the art of swords ((I'm at level 20 now, looking to earn up to level 50)), and possibly learn some magic lessons. My friend, however, is less sophisticated than me. He is a 35 year old Human exile who used to be an innkeeper, until he was banned from his town. He is skilled in combat wih both the bow and sword, as he served in the Millitia for a few years. He wishes to become a ranger like me, but I do not have a place at which to train him. I once saved his life, so therefore he vowed to accompany me to whatever guild I join. We would appreciate that any guild who wishes us to join gives us both a private chest, a salary of minos, and some housing."

The page is signed "Rathian Scott" and "William Ive".

In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: I believe that roleplaying is the act of pretending to be someone that you aren't. Like pretending to be a priest in roleplay, but really being a clerk in real life. Failure to roleplay on a roleplay server should result in an immediate ban.

In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta-gaming is the use of knowledge that is forbidden to the in-game player, or doing something against what your player would normally do. An example of meta-gaming is making TNT in an age that gunpowder has not been discovered yet.

In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power emoting is what a person could say to simulate an action that would not be possible with the conventional controls of a game. For example, "You raise your gilded sword to slice open the chest". Not something like, "You steal the dwarf's mead and drink it all". That would change the power emote into a god emote.

Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:

Rathian Scott is a young adventurer who is enchanted by the tales his father told him about his grandfather, who used to live in the nation of Alras before it fell to the invading undead hordes. Scott Senior, a rich man, had come over to Asulon on board the King Syrio's Beard to escape the fall of Aegis. Rathian's grandfather, however, deserted the city through an underground tunnel when it started to fall to the orcs. However, on the road to the Holy Oren Empire to seek refuge, he was robbed by drunken dwarves (Forest dwarves, to be precise). Luckily, as Rathian's father had told Rathian before his untimely death, Scott Senior had hidden his fortune somewhere in the world before he was robbed. However, since Scott Senior's journal was lost in the robbery, and the elderly Mr. Scott had long since forgotten where he hid it, the whereabouts of the treasure are unknown. Rathian vowed after his father's untimely death to set out and find an adventure, preferably recovering his family fortune in the process. Still, Rathian figures that not ALL dwarves are the way the forest ones were, and therefore holds no prejudice against them.

Rathian has lightish-brown hair, and a light beard of the same color. He was raised in the capital city of the Holy Oren Empire. He is a master of both the bow and the sword, although he is not a soldier by trade. He is sometimes called "Scotty" to his closest of friends. He is about 27 years old. As a man of morality and generosity, he tries to help people who are in need, doing what is right, but does NOT like orcs, since they were heavily involved in the war that destroyed Aegis, leading to the loss of his family's fortune.

What are your characters ambitions?: My character wishes to find a new city from which build a base to stage his adventures from, gather a new group of people for his adventures, and to, most importantly, recover the lost journal that the dwarves stole.

Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? I ask what his wares are. I see nothing but some old rusty helms and an old sword. I ask him about the old sword; he says that it was found outside the rubble of a ruined city. I generously overpay him with gold for the sword, which is diamond, and buy him a glass of mead at the local tavern. He says he can continue on his way with the gold I've paid him. I say goodbye to the dwarf and continue on my way.

You’re in the Cloud Sanctuary late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. The only present monk is fast asleep, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? I confront the with a frown on my face to see what the argument is about. He says it's over a debt that the dwarf owed him, and that he demanded the debt repaid, or his life. The dwarf pleads with be to stop him, and that he'll give several gold (not enough to cover his debt) to me in exchange for me to protect him. I tell the orc to "leave the dwarf alone", brandishing my sword, and the orc grunts and heads away from the sanctuary. The dwarf gives be a few gold bars and runs away to the nearest mine.

Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?:"Here, let me help you," I say, and help the old man up. In my bag is a spare stick, which I give to him after i fashion the stick into a cane. I pick up his money bag and hand it to him. I help take him to a tavern, where I get him a room for the night. "Thank you", he says, and hands me a few pieces of yellowed paper, apparently from a journal, and several of the Minas. I then depart back on my quest.

Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary:

Rathian Scott used to be the chief knight of the old King Kaecillius. That is, until that very kingdom fell to a horde of evil demons, such as skeletons, zombies, and a strange type of living gunpowder beast known as a "creeper". His king was killed in the final battle, the city ransacked and burned, leaving only Rathian and one other survivor the only people alive who can tell The Tale of the Fallen Kingdom. Rathian and his friend only survived by either sheer luck, or... possibly... from the protection of God himself. He now wonders the land in search of a new kingdom to live in.

Rathian has lightish-brown hair, and a light beard. His title would technically be Sir Rathian Scott, but he prefers to just be called Rathian, or possibly "Scotty" to his closest of friends. He is about 28 years old. As a (former?) knight, he tries to help people who are in need, doing what is right, but does NOT like orcs, since they are suspected of aiding the evil hordes.
