This serene day we have received troubling reports of a malcontent yūrei wheeling around our territories. Unfortunately we have yet to capture it or ascertain a method of extermination. It is advised to travel in groups to avoid being run upon by this mischievous entity until its intent is determined by the state. Please report any findings of the Waru-Nūdo to the Shugo or a Samurai.

This serene day we witnessed a meeting of the leader of the Shugo and the representative of the Nekomen of Nor'Velyth Yhl'Kabuki. Unfortunately the meeting reached an resolution due to a lack of understanding of supposed sacred cultural norms of the diminished neko people. While dressed in fineries the representative lamented the persecutions of his people in past centuries and would not permit them to live in tax-free caravans.

This serene day we witnessed the two sumo matches of gaijin outsiders to reconcile there silly uncivilized gaijin conflicts. The undercard bout proved to be the greater of the two. The woman yosei Primarch known as JENNY put up an entertaining fight with the large ash skinned orc Dom of the Grothzark clan. Both are celebrated fighters and welcome to future sumo events when they occur. The main card event proved to be a tiring bore that dragged on and caused many a spectator to depart. The green skinned Orc Lur of the Madoc clan was the favorite of the crowd even though he was a stranger to the lands. His opposite, the Pharoah Atemu-Ta, was widely disliked by the onlookers and his own entourage busied themselves arguging over the possession of a slave princeling that Atemu-Ta had supposedly seized from Norland. With the Pharaoh's knockout defeat the victor Lur of Madoc seized an eye to the protests of Atemu's entourage as a means of instilling a lesson in the spoiled sandling. None of the Pharoahs entourage was willing to fight off the greenskin from seizing his prize. However, a sudden contender and fan favorite of the enlightened Oyashiman crowd emerged. Yokozuna Kaziwashi found the act of pulling a weapon dishonorable and challenged Lur of Madoc. The two engaged in what was the match of the decade. While Lur of Madoc fought valiantly he was disadvantaged due to Yokozuna pulling on the crowds energy to deliver a final crushing powerbomb that knocked the greenskin out cold. The two are celebrated and welcomed with open arms by the Oyashi people to any future sumo events when they occur.

The one thing I remember is that the ST only said "Hey, this is a PK zone." Never "It is very dangerous and you will die." To their credit they mentioned it was a PK zone two or three times, which in hindsight perhaps should have been enough warning but was evidently not.

And I assume people lingered and fought things because one of the emotes by ST mentioned the surface of the cliff being slippery/not climbable/find another way out/etc.

It clearly was enough warning. Saying it evidently wasn't just means the players partaking disregarded the warnings. The notion of it being a PK zone means that there is an inherent risk that someone can/will die. Just because you/others assumed you wouldn't be the ones to die doesn't make that a fault of the staff. Gotta take accountability for your own participation in it.

Having regrets for not taking the staff seriously doesn't mean they're mishandling a PK zone, by partaking in the event you took on that risk.

@Xarklyby partaking in a PK event a player is opening them up to that risk of an unplanned PK. Some of the most significant events in the server have also been caused by players partaking in a PK clause outside of events. Sometimes you have to accept sacrificing your character narrative for the progression of others if it makes sense.

Wow, okay, lets start off with the worst part of Canonism!

    1. The age of the religion

Canonism is a stinky old religion made by stinky old players named DIB and VIROS who are both confirmed Neo-N*zis, it has been around forever on the server unlike cool new religions yet hasn’t radically been changed! I left this server 5 years ago and have recently come back and STILL NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!!111! Religion should be constantly changing and radically shifting with the times, not remaining stable!

    1. ITS FAKE

Canonism is literally fake! None of the people who run or created the lore for Canonism are admins or mods!!11 What the frick!?!/!? HOw can people not at all connected to the lore be allowed to run a religion which makes up the majority of the active player population!?!?! Canonism has no magic system unlike Druids or Monks or Shamans, and has no actual magic occuring, it is all based on faith and belief like real life!! IF THINGS AREN’T RETCONNED OR RETROACTIVELY CHANGED AS LORE IS RETROACTIVELY CHANGED, HOW IS THAT FAIR TO THE ADMINS!?!!?

    1. It is racist and intolerant

Canonism was made by an evil evil evil man named VIROS who is confirmed to be a Catholic priest irl and DIB who is a white nationalist. As such, clearly this religion reflects the real life values of the leaders in the religion. Canonism bans inter-species breeding cuz G-D said! Yeah, okay, I get it, half-elves suffer all the same curses as humans and elves, being unable to breed and half shortened lifespans, but why should I be IRPly punished just because G-D said no?!?!? And Heresy, this isn’t the middle ages, it just isn’t fair that any time people try to make cults and heresies that they get killed by the church.

    1. Too much reading

Have you ever read the Holy Scrolls!? TLDR; ITs 20 pages long of lore u can’t even use anywhere, whats the point, not to mention the nearly 100 pages of extra stuff made by players like Bagely and Sug and Totus, literally too much to read. How is any new player going to get into that!

    1. Based of the worst religion

Literally based of Catholicism. Useless, dumb, evil religion. Actually the embodiment of evil. If you want to play a human religion which is based off of a better rl source, do Rashidunism, they are based of Islam which is a better religion because they never oppressed scientists.

    1. No magic!

This may seem like a repeat of #2, but no, this is different. There is not just no real lore because no mods support it, but no magical system. Even if there was no lore, there is no magic to make it worth your while to be a priest. Priests cant banish sickness or make their prayers work, literally no gain from being a priest. The only people who can even be priests are those who want to dedicate a lot of time to writing, reading, and actually directly rping and interacting with individuals in a way that might not benefit them at all and have a distinct disadvantage to warriors, other magic users, and even monsters, with their only power inherently coming from faith and dedication and the moral effect the religion has on others! NO FUN AND NO OPPORTUNITY FOR INTERESTING RP!

    TLDR;

Canonism is an old religion which formed naturally as a result of player experiences on the server rather than artificial creation by the Staff or Lore team. The massive amount of Lore is all player written and organically developing as a labor of love by various individuals with no real power on the server as these individuals are NOT Staff or on the Lore team. All attempts at giving Canonism some Lore tie ins or magical aspects have been denied, which has led to the common OOC belief that Canonism is “fake” (to quote drfate). It is based off of an intolerant medieval variant of a real world religion, and creates drama and violence IRP through its policies and actions. Clearly this is toxic to the server, and needs to be deleted and replaced with a hand crafted by staff magic system.

  9. I remember the swap from CRP default to PVP that greatly increased the QoL of dealing with bandits/spooks as a guard back in 2013. I have found that CRP in bad faith is more often then not more frustrating then PVP in bad faith. While PVP has had egregious "metas" where you see stalling or item disparity (nexus) that push that beyond the norm these have typically been fostered by systems set in place by staff without corrections made fast enough. Meanwhile CRP in bad faith is always incredibly prolonged instances of OOC arguing and powergaming (be it intentional or unintention).

Atleast when I am pulled into a PvP situation such as being robbed (be it in good faith or bad faith) it is 90% of the time a short affair that allows for a great amount of flexibility in how I incorporate that outcome into roleplay afterwards. The only time I've seen CRP proceed swiftly with minimal arguing is with two individuals who are acting in incredibly good faith or when rolls are used to determine outcome.

Either way these arguments have been going on forever and both sides tend to view themselves as a majority of the community.

Edit: Magic bloat has also contributed to a degradation in CRP quality. Atm there are 70+ accepted magic/submagics/creatureapps that each contain abilities/redlines which I can guarantee even the oldest of lore brains don't have comprehensive understanding of the capabilities of more then 50% at a given time. This makes near every encounter with combat magic roleplay involve some sort of confusion or argument that I have seen in the last 2 years.
