Sounds pretty interesting, need more random events that are just for immersion and fun, Things like this help just improve the atmosphere and make roleplaying a bit more fun.

Augustus smiles as he hears of the Mansteins beginning to make more of a name for themselves.

"Aye, it is good Adolf is getting somewhere with his family. They are good men."

"P-please." Augustus mutters as he shakes his head, "Why bring back something no one likes?"

"Sounds like heresy." mutters the zealous Crusader.

Augustus would hum slightly as he passed the notice, taking a moment to read it.

"Which City do they protect, I wonder... It mentions Renatus and then doesn't specify a City yet calls it a City Watch." 

He would shrug slightly before carrying on with his business, pleased to see some form of law returning.

The Avenese Bank

The Avense Bank is a privately run venture that seeks to provide manageable interests on loans to aid businesses in startups or merely citizens that could be struggling for a small time.

The Bank holds an ‘equal-loans’ policy where to maintain a neutral and diplomatic standpoint  they are willing to provide loans to anyone despite of race, affiliation, or age. However, they still maintain the ability to hold back giving loans to either criminals or other untrustworthy characters.

As well as offering loans to singular individuals and smaller businesses, the bank offers its loans to entire nations or groups, aiding them in times of need or when they wish for an injection to help them grow and expand at crucial times.

The Bank also offers the storage of money for those who wish to see it gain some more value: to make its services more attractive than those of other banks interest is applied on stored money.

Those wishing to take out a loan should contact Augustus Fournier(Stigwig) or Guy de Bar(Altiak) or visit the pair at either the Barony of Pobblebonk or the City of Leuvaarden. You could also post a reply to one of these posters and you will be contacted accordingly.

Augustus would pass one of the posters just after finishing selling a house to another prospective inhabitant and browse it with a slight smile and a nod.

Augustus would hear of the letters and note the distinct lack of lords of the realm with a frown.. Given the Stafyr's recent defection that made... A grand total of three.

Republic of Greece

The single shot fired in the palace - the Emperor was dead. Despite the mobilisation of nearby security forces he could not be saved. Upon the death of the last of the royal line the Graecian parliament went into an immediate vote on what to do with the government - a return to the republican method won by a majority of over 25%. 

With the recent election of Alexios Nikephoros as President, several immediate changes were made to the country:

-The offer of Germany to join the METO was accepted

-A force was mobilised to the northern border with Macedonia was mobilised, consisting of:

-77,600 frontline infantry;

-250 tanks;

-Roughly 700 AFVs;

-100 fighters;

-100 transport craft;

150 helicopters;

-And 8 submarines were mobilised in Athens.

-This force was to send a message to the countries of Macedonia and Albania demanding they either submit to Graceian hegemony or be destroyed. ((MOD NEEDED))

-To accompany this a period of military expansion begins, with order for the construction of two aircraft carriers to begin, and to finish by 2036, and for a period of recruiting and propaganda to be entered.

-To strengthen the economy to support this requests for trade are sent to USA, China, Japan, Italy, France, and Germany

The Basileia ton Rhomaion

The Empire announces several changes to current government policy:

- Expansion of military is to take place with a 18% increase to spending.

- Deployment of troops from areas surrounding the capital in Athens to the border with Turkey

- A mansion tax is introduced, anyone with a property value of over £2,000,000 is to be taxed extra.

- An expansion of military bases in the Aegean Islands is to take place.

A message is to be sent to Macedonia, inviting them to join as a Dux beneath the crown in an autonomous state, the same letter is also sent to Albania - both countries are reminded of their history under the Empire.

Messages inviting trade are sent to the Italian Republic and India - along with a defensive pact sent to Germany.

Mobilisation of troops is to occur on the border with Turkey upon mainland Greece - and a letter sent to the Turks demanding the handover of what the fools call Istanbul and is clearly Byzantium back to the Basileia ton Rhomaion.

A low murmur of excited chattering could be heard at the church of Aldersberg, heard for a moment - then drowned out by the slow, light ring of the church bells as they chimed happily - celebrating the union to come.

The church was filled with the locals of Aldersberg, many a man wearing rose tabards were to be seen, along with the host of local homeowners.

Along with the inhabitants of Aldersberg were seated many from across the realm, all here to witness the couple married in holy Matrimony.

Seated on the right pew were the de Savoies, Olivier in the centre, with the two twins by him, along with Camille and Gwyneviere by them. Across from them sat the members of House Fournier, most of them waiting with bated breath.

Presiding over the celebration was the ordained bishop. Standing rigidly with his hands clasped behind his back, Jan de Savoie stood in front - the groom waiting with a pleasant smile playing across his face for his bride.

The conversation dropped when the bishop raised his hand for silence, as the young bride entered the small chapel. The bride, Catherine Fournier, was led by her elder brother, the Boyar Augustus. He walked slightly in front with his head held proudly, the ghost of a smile playing upon his lips, Jean Fournier was holding the train of Catherine’s dress behind her.

As the three made their way forwards between the pews, Augustus and Jean moved to one side to make room for the two before the bishop, joined together in the eyes of the Creator. As they finished moving, he opened the small book upon the altar and began to speak.

“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here together in the sights and eyes of the Creator, and in the face of this company within the church of Aldersberg, to join this Man and this Woman together in holy Matrimony.

Jan, wilt thou have this Woman to be thy wedded wife, to live together after the Creator’s ordinance in the holy and blessed estate of Matrimony? Wilt thou love her, comfort her, honour, and keep and protect her in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, keep thee only unto her, so long as ye both shall live and breath upon this blessed earth?”

Jan nodded and replied, confidently without a tone of anxiety, “That I will.”

The Bishop would nod to him, and then turn accordingly to Catherine.

“Catherine, wilt thou have this Man to be be thy wedded husband, to live together after the Creator’s ordinance in the holy and blessed estate of Matrimony? Wilt thou love her, comfort her, honour, and keep and protect her in sickness and health; and, forsaking all others, keep thee only unto him, so long as ye both shall live and breath upon this blessed earth?”

Catherine would turn and smile slightly at Jan, before speaking out. “I will.”

The Bishop smiled slightly, closing the book and sweeping outwards with his hands to the gathered peoples within the church.

“Who gave this woman to be married to this man?”

Augustus Fournier stepped forward, striding to stand next to Catherine. The Bishop motions for Jan and Catherine to clasp hands together and nods for Jan to speak. “I, Jan of Savoie, take thee Catherine to be my wedded Wife, to have and to hold from this day onwards, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to the Creator’s holy ordinance; and thereto I plight thee my troth.”

Catherine would look up at Jan, nervous for a moment before breaking into a larger smile. “I, Catherine take thee Jan to be my wedded Husband, to have and to hold from this day onwards, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to the Creator’s holy ordinance; and thereto I plight thee my troth.”

Quietly, the Bishop motions for Charles Fournier, Augustus’ young son, to bring the ring down the aisle. The child smiled slightly as he walked down the aisle, delicately balancing the ring upon a pillow made of the colours of House Ashford. He would then lift up the pillow and present it to Jan, who takes the ring and gently slips it onto Catherine’s ring finger.

“With this ring, I wed thee in the name of the Creator.”

Olivier, Jan’s uncle, was stood by his side and hands him a black-and-white shawl, which Jan promptly lay across Catherine’s shoulders with a slight smile.

“I now pronounce you two of man and wife. And, you may now kiss the bride.” The Bishop would motion towards the couple as the room broke into rapturous applause. Jan took Catherine into his arms and kissed her while the room began to slowly filter out, the ceremony over. The couple was escorted down the aisle with Olivier, and Augustus behind the two.

The House of Fournier

The House of Fournier is one with a deep-rooted history, though largely unknown and far back in history. Hailing from the island nation of Relouria, now largely abandoned with most Relourians fled to the Imperium of Oren, they were once an important house, until their fortunes were laid low by civil dispute. It is generally agreed upon by current descendants of the house that the history of the current branch can be traced back to Charles Fournier I.The Fourniers currently own a small estate called Avenese to the South-West of Petrus with a number of serfs and a small household. In the laws of Oren the house would be described as a Common House.

So, this is a post advertising the history of the House, along with opportunities to either be a member of the House, or in it’s employment. As the Gus fore-mentioned in this post I may appear biased (as I ran a server with Hunter), but he was the driving force behind the server event wise. Every day he would come on and run almost every major event, And for that I would have to recommend this to this position as he regularly managed events of the size of almost fifteen people. So... ,+1 or whatever they say these days.

If so, where?: - I’ve roleplayed for almost a year on minecraft now, starting on Romecraft: Legacy, a Roman RP server, and then moving onto Rymora and Gildorym, the former a medieval style setting and the latter a D&D one. Recently, I’ve been Admin of Tyrenale for a few months with Lyonharted, who now plays here, due to the recent disbandment of the server I heard about LoTC and decided to give it a go.

How did you hear about us?: - After Tyrenale shut down the other admin, Lyonharted, suggested this server to me so I guess I would attribute the find to him.

What do you think the server will be like? – Due to the number of players on this server (I normally roleplay in much smaller groups), I hope it will offer an entirely different experience.

What’s the rule you agree with the most?: - I like the war rules and those for raids/skirmishes, particularly the one about no returning to your death point within thirty seconds as I believe it combats metagaming.

Do you understand combat rules, and what you can and can’t do if you do choose to roleplay as a villain?:-I do, though I do not plan on rping a villain.

Definitions

What is roleplaying?: - I find the easiest way to describe roleplaying is as a form of acting, where you play a character within this world(stage), and in some ways “become” them, thinking as them, acting as them, and putting yourself in their position. To put it rather simply, it is playing a role. (Hence the name I presume).

What’s metagaming?: - Metagaming is where you use knowledge obtained OOC (Out of Character), IC (In Character). For an example, I would say it is again similar to acting, if you knew that your character was going to die in the next scene, and then pretended that your character in the play already knew this, that would be metagaming.

What’s powergaming?: - Powergaming is an attitude to gameplay where you ‘play to win’, trying to play a bit like an RPG where your character is the sole focus. I find in minecraft the typical way of powergaming is by using emotes that it is unable to respond too. i.e. “Bob swings his sword at Steven, killing him instantly”, a better emote that wasn’t powergaming would be “Bob takes a quick swipe at Steven, aiming for his jugular artery.”

Give us a highlight of their past, What life events make your character the person they are today? This is your character's biography. It is also required to include server lore when writing. (Names of towns, major server events, ect. Most lore can be found on our wiki.): - 

Augustus was born on Anthos as the third son to a large house of peasants, his father a local leatherworker, and his mother a servant in the local Lord, Oliviar de Savoie’s, house. His father felt a slight entitlement over the rest of the small village (even if no one else thought he did), due to the fact that his father was supposedly a knight of the Order of the White Rose in its earlier days, before perishing in a small-scale skirmish.

At the age of three, Augustus was subject to his first experience of loss, one that most peasants are used too. His eldest sister was lost while breaking her curfew to explore the woods and never found again. His father and mother were despondent in their rooms for the next week, but it took him a few days to fully realise what happened.

When he reached seven, he travelled with his father to the nearest town, and visited a library for the first time. Neglecting the opportunity to watch the local soldiers train in their yard, which his four other brothers who were accompanying took the chance to do, he spent the entire day in the library, working his way around the stories of heroes and monsters. (His mother had ensured that he, showing a larger aptitude for learning than any other of his kin, had received sufficient literary education).

Soon after that, his father, unhappy with the fact that Augustus tended to spend most of his days indoors, reading and re-reading old books which he had haggled off other villages for extortionately low prices, decided it was time for him to love his father’s craft, as his two elder brothers were currently doing. After that he spent most of his childhood outside, slowly fashioning armour and scabbards for when the Exercitum Imperium called in to the village, where they made a goodly amount of coin selling these items to the soldiers.

Over the next few years he experienced little events of any importance, spending his days either sweating in the blistering sun, cowering in fear of Orcish raids, or bent over a book in a dimly lit room, quickly devouring it of all knowledge.

However, at the age of sixteen his life was ripped upside down, when bandits raiding the village rode down his father. Suddenly the family no longer had a head to guide it through the years, but his death proved in some ways a lesson to Augustus. He watched as his eldest brother stepped up and took over all of his father’s previous responsibilities. And Augustus observed how things like this, changes in one’s habits or responsibilities, and in many cases the acquisition of power, can change a man drastically.

After two years though, he found the world had changed. Suddenly he had reached the age of manhood, and he felt free. He took the opportunity with both hands, and left behind his family life of constant work, to travel. He felt free. For the first few years of his travelling, he visited smaller settlements, met tiny lords, and even in some cases observed the Imperial Army/Exercitum Imperium, and it’s Marshal, Vibius de Sola, while parading or performing marches.

After several years of travelling, taking the opportunity to expand upon his current knowledge and literary skills, improving both, he settled down with a childhood friend in Kaledonia. Taking the opportunity of being so close to the home of the Imperium, Augustus began to compile his knowledge and write a book upon the origins of the Imperial House of Chivay.

However, as he compiled research and began to write the book, he saw the many links between the current Imperial Peerage and Council, and the old Order of the White Rose, and the book transformed from not only a treatise on the Imperial House of Chivay, but also including a short history of the Order of the White Rose, and a summary of the current Imperium.

Finally finishing the book at the age of twenty-seven after researching for four months The Battle of the Dreadfort, Augustus set out into the world from the safety of Kaledonia; hoping to acquire more knowledge, and perhaps power as well this time.

What are they like? (personality): - Augustus is not an aggressive man, nor a fighter.  Having enjoyed learning over scrapping, and examining books and figures he has a rather introverted or sheltered personality, though that being said, in recent years while he has travelled more, he has shown himself to be rather gregarious. He tends to be diligent with tasks that he wishes to succeed in, but when given a task by another he often discovers ways to put it off and procrastinate. Prone to bouts of anger if provoked, Augustus’ mood swings like a pendulum. If given the opportunity, he tends to prefer staying inside than going outside, and reading rather than exploring or performing manual labour of any sort.

What are their ambitions?: - Augustus desires knowledge, the acquisition of it through any means necessary. He does not however want knowledge for knowledge’s sake, or merely for knowing it, he believes that knowledge is the sure-steady route to power. He hungers for power, as he believes that it can provide him and his family comfort, which to him is the most important of things in life. Having grown up in a large family and seen his parents struggle to fully support the growing number of children, he believes that it is his duty to support his family as well as he can.

Do they have any special skills? What are their weaknesses? (Try to list a few of both): - Augustus has found himself over the years to have far more scholarly talents, skilled with numbers, research and reading over most normal peasants, he has developed these skills due to a rather scrawny physique and a lack of any type of military training. With an eye for the acquisition of power and knowledge he will stop at nothing to gain these if he sees an opportunity, but finds attempts at such opportunities assisted by the fact that he has proven himself to be a natural diplomat – even if he is a more introverted fellow.

Give us a description of how they look?: - Augustus stands at a fair height of 5’11’’, what he sees as a perfect height. With a muss of dark brown curls he has an almost boyish round face, with a charming if slightly crooked smile. His striking blue eyes have a slight white defect, giving him a rather piercing stare. Being a rather bookish/scholarly person, he is not the most physically developed of men, more lean than stocky.
