Have you had any previous experience in roleplaying?: No, except for listening to my friend explain what role-play is, and showing me some examples of RPGs. Have you read and understood and agree to the rules?: Yes, I agree to the rules. How did you hear about the Lord of the Craft?: A friend told me (AndrewTech). Link any previous applications you have made to the Lord of the Craft: I have never made an application here. Have you posted this application on Minecraft Forum? For example, creating a piston system in an age where electricity doesn't exist yet would be considered meta-gaming. In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power emoting is when a person emotes an action that could not otherwise be simulated through the normal aspects of gameplay, such as "Ive readies his sword". A preordained action, such as, "Ive shoots off the Orc's head", would be considered a god emote (which is illegal). In-Character Details Character Name: William Ive Character Race: Human Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: William Ive used to be a successful inn owner/merchant in the city of Solace. That is, until he accidentally shot his friend, a war hero, in the head while hunting. The people of his town put up an angry mob to avenge this war hero's death, and threw him in the stocks, coming extremely close to executing him. But right before that happened, a strange man stepped in, and demanded that he be given another punishment. That it was an accident, and that Ive should be given a second chance. Ive was given a trial, and sentenced to banishment from the town. He thanked the man for saving his life, and vowed to help him in any way he could. Ive is a man of commerce and inn-running, although he is often absent minded. He DID serve in the militia for a year in his home city, and is therefore fluent in the use of the sword, but even more fluent in the use of the bow. He holds a grudge against his town now, for ruining his successful business and condemning him to never see his family again. He is about 35 years of age. Although he is a kind man, Ive hates the orcs for the constant attacks upon his home town (back when he lived in it, of course). What are your characters ambitions?: My character wants to find an awesome city in which to restart his life. However, before this, he has taken a vow to help the traveling man who saved him (Rathian Scott) in his quest for fame and fortune (AndrewTech has given me his complete permission to intertwine my character's story with his). Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response?: I walk up to the dwarf, and ask him if I can see his wares. Seeing nothing of interest, I ask him, "Do you know anyone who can give us a lift to Alras?" "No, lad," The dwarf says. "All I have is this tired horse. However, since I have gotten to my destination, I'll sell it to 'ya". I look at the old hoarse, and buy it for a generous sum of money. "Thank ye, lad," the dwarf says, and I continue on my way. You’re in the Cloud Sanctuary late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. The only present monk is fast asleep, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do?: I wake up the monk to resolve the situation. The monk gets up, and tries to stop the conflict. The Orc, however, sneers at him, and the scared monk runs away, not used to handling violent confrentations (and especially not with orcs). I grab the dwarf, and pull him out of the sanctuary before the orc decides to attack the dwarf. The dwarf thanks me for keeping him from getting hurt by the orc, and walks to the nearest inn to spend the night. I then go and get myself an ale to ease off the stress of the incident. Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenseless man. What does your character do?: I go ahead and put the minas in a new bag. Then I help the old man up, and take him to a shop where he buys a new stick. While he's there, I gave him a slab of pork ribs I've been carrying for the last few days. "Thank you," the man says to me. "Here, I would like you to keep this." The man gives me a few gold bars, along some of his minas. I thank him, and take him to an inn, making sure he gets there safely. Then, with it being night, I rent myself a room in the inn.
