  1. Thank you very much SkyyoBee for the nice welcome! I took forever to reply and I am sorry. I shall be sure to let you know if i need anything :)
  2. Greetings denizens of the Lord Of Craft forum, The name is Balgus4, a geeky 22years old french canadian, who's jouney across the gaming world as taken him trough many journeys into the unknown. Some brought me wonderfull discoveries and other terrible frustration. But so is the way of a wanderer in gaming world. Also, even though I never played with any specialised roleplaying group before, I always loved roleplaying itself or even role playing games. The act of playing a character was always appealing to me, sometimes me and friends who would play games an role play for simple fun of it. But enough about my humble past and let talk about the present. I have been a member of this respectable forum for a little while, even though I have been silent and inactive since I was accepeted, I was always wondering when I should start posting.... I have always been the shy type, even though I am more a social being that I used to be, it took me alot just have the guts to try an apply somewhere that had whitelisted server. My first application was made about a month ago, but I have to admit it was rushed, because I thought if I did not do it now I would never had did it. So my application was decline with nice suggestions how to improve it, but I simply did not applied again. Not because I did not want to join you fine folks, but simply because I was too busy. So here I am, returning once again to this place, but more properly this time. Filled with hope of meeting all of you on the server soon, I shall return to my writing and reading, but this time with an eye on forum :) Sincerly, Balgus the 4th
  3. Out-Of-Character Details Minecraft Account Name: Balgus4 How old are you?: 21 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Canada Do you have a good grip on English grammar and the English language?: Yes Have you had any previous experience in roleplaying?: Not really, except with friends to make other games more interesting. Have you read and understood and agree to the rules?: Yes How did you hear about the Lord of the Craft?: By luck really, I was searching the web for a nice role playing server and your server was one of the first to appear. Link any previous applications you have made to the Lord of the Craft: None Have you posted this application on Minecraft Forum? If not, post it here:http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/832121-the-lord-of-the-craft-enter-the-world-of-asulon-o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y-t-h-e-n-o-1-r-p-s-e-r-v-e-r-100-unique-gameplay/!: It shall be done. Definitions In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: The act of role playing is to become a character in a new world or dimension. It is also the ability to think, talk, react and see through this new persona eyes. To become somebody else, even for a short moment and free yourself from the boundaries that reality imposes you. For example, people playing D&D, Medieval fair or even couples games of roles : P In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta-gaming for me is a foul act where a player use information gathered outside of his characters realm to gain advantages that his character could never had. For example, the player meet a imposing villain for the first time but appear to already know said villain weakness, even though his character could never had access to such information. In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Power-emoting, from what I can gather, is the act of destroying other role-players freedom by imposing actions or situations to other players, without any room for consent or discussion on the subject matter. For example, a thief would go to a other player and simply state that he just robbed the said player and killed him. Without leaving a chance to the other player to respond to the treat in any way and just telling the player that those action had already taken place. In-Character Details Character Name: Uther Character Race: Human....I think....(see biography :D) Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Greetings, My name is Uther, at least that the name I was given me by my mentor. As for what I am...that is a complicated story. But let us begin where every story start, the beginning. During a time of war and turmoil within the dwarves of your land, an old stubborn dwarf from the black axe clan left his brethren for a life of solitude in the mountains caves. Although the term may seem vague, he was a scholar of the mines and their minerals. And wanted to spend the remaining of his days in studying what he always loved, while mourning the death of his one and only son. But one day, he found a little more than rare minerals. Down an abandoned mine shaft, was what looked like an old buried temple. Within this ancient temple was an altar where a human shaped statue. At first, it appeared to be nothing more than a ordinary but well sculpted statue. But as he begin to get closer, torches beside the statue lit by themselves and the statue that appeared to be made of nothing else but stones, suddenly transformed into flesh and bones. And at that moment...I was borne into this world. Although startled at first and confused, the thing that irritated me the most in my awakening was the complete blank that was in my head. I had no knowledge of who I was, what I was or where I was. And although some of the question I had back then still remains to be answered, the old dwarf proved to be a good mentor and a true friend. He taught me about the languages, history and science of this land. He also instructed in the art of combat, and as a payment for his knowledge, I helped him the best I could. Mainly by hunting for food and protecting the old one in his many digs in the mountain. With time, our friendship became stronger and I learned more of my savior. The first thing I learned was his name, Thorgen Bronzebeard. He also told me about all about his son demise and how it opened his eyes on the futility of war. And that when he told me that although I did not look like dwarf, I reminded him a lot of his son, and that when he gave my own name, Uther. If someone was to ask me the time I remained in the mountains with the old man, I could not tell. Maybe seasons passed without me noticing, but the life was good and I was happy to have a proper task in this life. But always in my mind, questions kept coming back: Why am I here? Where do I come from? And so on....But I never dared asked my teacher openly, by fear of troubling him in any way. However, my world soon crumbled when a terrible accident happened in the mines. While I was exploring one particular mineshaft with Thorgen, the earth shook violently and soon the tunnel began to fall upon us. Although Bronzebeard was hit by a few rocks, I still managed to get us both to safety in his lab. But what I did not noticed during our rushed escape, was that one of the rocks that fell on my friend wounded him pretty badly and he was losing a lot of blood. The old stubborn dwarf assured me that everything was fine, especially since he considered he lived long enough. But even with his effort to calm me down, I began to feel water dripping down my eyes, which I would later learn to be tears. It was at this moment he told me that he would be ever thankful for the time we spend together, for I brought him an happiness that he never imagined someone like him would feel again. He also pulled a strange book from under his coat and gave it to me with his now shaking hand. Thorgen then used his last breaths to tell how sry he was to have kept this hidden from me, and that he hoped that one day I find the answer I seek. Finally, he ended his last speech in this world, by saying: <Farewell....my...friend....> Words that would be forever be engraved in my memory.... The day after this event, I did my best to make a proper burial for my eternal friend; it seemed like the right thing to do. After this was done, I began to read the book gave to me by Thorgen. In the first page was a little note made by the old dwarf himself, explaining that he found that book in the same temple he found me. The rest of the book, some pages were written in dwarves writing, which I could read. While others were written in languages that I could not even began to understand. But from what I read, I learned that I was some kind of golem. But instead of being made of iron, I was made of flesh and blood like all living creatures. When or why I was built was not mentioned in any part I could read...I was a disappointed. But remembering the stories of my old friend about the human cities and the scholar that one could find in them, I decided it was time for me to leave this place. Taking Bronzebeard old green scarf, the book of my salvation, a few old maps and a few tools I started my very first descent of the mountains. As I began my journey for the human lands, I was filled with hope for what my new life would be but also quite happy to satisfy my curiosity at last and to be able to fulfill the last wish of the one whom gave me everything.... What are your characters ambitions?: I have no other ambition but learn all I can to find who I truly am and my true purpose in this world..... Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: Please look at attachment in the bottom, sry for the inconvenience. Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: Although I learned a lot about this world through the teaching of my dwarf mentor, there is still some subtleties I dont fully understand. Plus I don’t hold any anger or negative feeling toward any race of this land, since I know so few about them. But I hold the dwarves high in my respect for personal reasons. But still like a lot of what this world offer like food and good ale! :D Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? Upon arriving, finally, to one of the human city I so heard about, I come across a chop-keeper. When I got closer, I recognize the familiar face of a dwarf shop-keeper. This brought me great joy, since I always wanted to meet more people from the race of my mentor. But that moment of joy soon vanished, after a small discussion with the chop keeper. He explained that he also arrived in this city not so long ago, and that his business is not going so well. Already poor, he did not know how he will be able to survive here (this bloody town) if he does not have much more customer. At this specific moment I took a few of the minas I earn in a farm earlier to buy some of his ware. I bought a few arrows and some meat. I was about to leave, but then I turned back to the shopkeeper and gave him the rest of my money. I then walked away to the deeper parts of the city.... You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? I was walking down a road, when I saw a green creature, which I supposed to be an Orc, which was threatening a nearby dwarf. I drew my bow immediately toward the Orc, warning him to stop threatening the dwarf and walk away so nobody gets hurt. I saw the dwarf give me a confuse but yet thankful look. The Orc on the other hand seemed really infuriated to see his prey denied by a complete stranger. But after taking a long look at me and where my bow was aiming, he left. The dwarf was quite happy of my intervention, while still claiming he could have taken care of this business himself. We then walked together to the nearest Inn and took a well deserved rest. Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: When I saw this poor old dwarf fell to the ground, I rushed to his aid. While helping him to get up, a strange and dark thought came to my mind, the voice sounded so far away...but I still understood the words: < KILL....HIM.....> And as soon as they appeared they left, my head clear once again I look at the old dwarf who had a worried look on his face. After reassuring the old one about my little moment, I helped him gather his scattered minas. Putting them in an extra bag I was carrying, so the owner could carry them safely. Plus as a measure of safety, I escorted to old man to his home, both for protection and to help him walk, since his walking stick broke. Once we arrived at his house, he offered me his hospitality in return for my help. I stayed with old man for a day, and the next day, early in the morning I left to continue my journey of truth. But while walking down the road again, I was wondering about that voice.....
