    What the heck is a DDos anyway? I've heard the phrase so many times, and I tried googling it, but I can't really figure out what "Denial of Service" means.

      It pings a specified IP/web address/etc until the hosting server basically crashes or overloads, mainly resulting in a complete crash when stronger servers can handle the requests and only a slowing occurs

      Directed denial of service. Essentially, they send what seems to be 200K IPs connecting at once intending to melt your processor, or have it take hours processing all the requests, and so on.
