  1. Out-Of-Character Details Minecraft Account Name: gig442 How old are you?: 16 Time-Zone/Country of Residence: +0 GMT London Do you have a good grip on English grammar and the English language?: Yes, ranging from good to very good depending on how tired I am. Have you had any previous experience in roleplaying?: Multiple experiences in Gmod, but not very strict guidelines. Also took part in acting and drama for a while. Have you read and understood and agree to the rules?: Yes. How did you hear about the Lord of the Craft?: I found it while browsing the web, and instantly thought it was a pretty amazing idea. Link any previous applications you have made to the Lord of the Craft: Not applicable. Have you posted this application on Minecraft Forum? If not, post it here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/832121-the-lord-of-the-craft-enter-the-world-of-asulon-o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y-t-h-e-n-o-1-r-p-s-e-r-v-e-r-100-unique-gameplay/! : I have. Definitions In your own words, define what the act of roleplaying is: Roleplaying is quite akin to acting or performing, where one person acts as another in another world. For example, acting as a dwarven merchant in the Lord of the Rings universe. Basically creating a story for a character in a new world, and performing along with that story and character to the best of your ability. In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Speaking or interacting with someone else outside of the roleplaying, for example asking a friend over skype for help when he is too far away in the actual game to ask. Can also involve gaining information about the roleplaying world in a way that denies actual roleplaying. In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: Instead of using normal emotes, etc, you simply try to end the roleplay as quickly as possible through an overpowered and not possible move, for example simply typing 'Killed you' instead of going through the whole combat scenario. In-Character Details Character Name: Burleigh Stronginthearm Character Race: Mountain Dwarf Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: Burliegh has tanned skin, the result of many a day toiling under the sun for his father. His hair is fiery red and long, and his beard luxuriantly braided. After his many years working hard, often in dangerous conditions, he is very resilient, and hard hitting. He was born in the city of Karik, nigh on 103 years ago, but stayed there for only 50 before his fathers drunken abuse became too much for him, and he ran off with his friend Dagran Hammerfoot, with whom he had grown up with since his birth. Together, they wandered the lands of Asulon, looking for adventure. As often as not, they would find such an adventure, and gathered up quite a fortune. With the money they made, they bought a tavern together, by the roadside for weary travelers. However, as with many a success, it was short-lived. A marauding band of Orcs passed down the road, and once they spotted the Inn, nothing would get between them and destroying and looting all of Burleighs earthly possessions. He and his friend escaped with their lives, just about, but had to start again from scratch. They traveled back to Karik, where they started to plot revenge on the Orcs and work up funding for a new Inn. What are your characters ambitions?: Burleigh wishes to own an Inn to retire in, with his friends he makes on his adventures, and exact revenge on the Orcs who destroyed his livelihood. Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: Dagran Hammerfoot is the name of an actual friend who is applying to join the server, we come in tandem. Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? While I was wandering the streets of Karik late at night, I saw a fellow Dwarf selling his wares on the street. When I close in, I see that his clothes are tattered, his eyes tired, his skin bruised. He looks, in fact, like me. "Aye, you look down on your luck" I say to him. He stares at me for a while before replying; "I have only just moved here, to see the wonders of the city, and to sell what little I have managed to keep" "Well, what do you have for sale?" I exclaim. He shows me his wares, and I notice a lovely sword, well balanced and with jewels encrusted in the hilt. I ask him how much it is, he replies that he is selling it for 45 Minas. When I inspect my pockets, I find that I have just enough to pay, and knowing that it would do him a lot more good than I, decided not to haggle down the price. He gratefully hands over the sword, and I walk away happy in the knowledge that I had moved one step closer to revenge, and that I had helped a poor Dwarf to eat tonight. You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? As I was wandering along the Oren road one night, I stumbled across a large Orc threatening a nearby Dwarf. I could see the situation was soon going to escalate into fighting, so I moved closer, hoping to intervene. However, the Orc took this as a threat, and began to attack the dwarf, thinking I was his friend. I ran over to help, and drew my newly bought sword. I distracted the Orc away from the other dwarf, and as I was exchanging clashed I saw him climbing into position above the Orc. I shouted "Don't do it!" and the Orc turned around to see what I was shouting at. As his back was turned, I hit him as hard around the head as I could, knocking him to the ground. While he was there, my new friend jumped onto his back, and knocked him unconscious with a single blow of his axe. We ran down the road as fast as we could, and when we finally came to rest, the dwarf thanked me, and promised to help me in any way he could. That is how we came to be walking down the road to Malinor. Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumbl upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you were about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: As I was walking down the road to Malinor, I came across an old man who looked frail, just like his walking stick. As I watched, it snapped and he began to fall, but I rushed to his aid in time to stop him from becoming injured. As I grabbed him, a bag of Minas fell to the ground. I laid the man down by the road, and gathered up his money, putting it in a spare bag I was carrying. I offered to help the man along the road to his destination, and he gladly accepted. I ask him if he needs any more help when we arrive, to which he replies; "No, no, dear Dwarf! You have been of much help already. I was expecting you to steal my money and run!" When we arrived at his destination, I bought him a new, sturdy stick for him to use. As I start to depart, he closes my hand over a few Minas that he could spare. I smiled at him, and moved on.
