Definitions
In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!:
Role-playing: To play as a defined character, and to put yourself in the characters shoes in an established enviroment.
Meta-gaming: Using out of character information in character. An example of this would be to overhear a real life conversation in TS and use that information arIG even though your character has no access to it.
Power-emoting: Forcing your actions on a player without allowing for cooperative roleplay. An example would be to emote *slices through John. It should be an attempt and not so powergaming, like *attempts to slice at John.

Full Name: Marcus Brande
Current Age: 18
Sub-race (if any):
Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):
Marcus was born in a small impoverished village in the Seventis, where he lived till he was about 12 years old, until one fateful autumn night. As he was walking from the fields home alone, he saw a band of darkly clad men, slowly moving across the landscape. As he was about to call out, one of the men stepped out from the bushes and grabbed him before he had a chance to scream. The men did not know what to do with him, so they brought him with them.
He ended up in a dirty hut in a mountain range between Seventis and Alras, where the band of men lived. It turned out the men were rogue mercenaries, who took on most jobs they could get. The men were not cruel to him, and after a while they took him in as one of them, after deciding they could not kill him, so he might as well help out. Marcus During this time he learned to appreciate fire for its warmth and usefulness, as the group often spent nights cold and in the dark to avoid being seen along with the reckless capacity of flames due to the mercenaries band use of burned earth tactics. Marcus learned to utilize a flint and steel to emit a dangerous fire and quickly grasped a knowledge of what burned, and what didn't. The other men appreciated his quick abilities, and he felt empowered by this knowledge of fire. After three years of living in the woods, Marcus wanted to move on, and the mercenaries let him go, seeing that he would do better alone. He signed up as a bannerman for House Carrion at the young age of 15.
Being a 15 year old bannerman means a couple things, and one of them was a lot of cleaning. Unfortunately, men could only serve as soldiers in the local legislation and at the time the legislation to be a true bannerman was 16. However, he could not return to his wild band of mercenaries after hearing this; they were already suffering from low funds and could not afford to take back in the young and inexperienced boy. Carrion provided a good home for Marcus though; while he had to clean and shine the weapons of the real bannerman while learning a basic education through watching the sons and daughters of nobility being taught. Before he could become a true bannerman, however, disaster struck.
A nationalistic peasant uprising of the Carrion lands had begun to fully take root and this tidal wave of revoluationary zeal had swarmed right into Castle Carrion. Peasants stormed in and due to the Lord's folly, the castle was burned and sieged by peasants with stolen arms. Marcus was sleeping when it happened, and when he awoke all he saw were flames. However, unlike other bannerman who were unaccustomed to the dangerous smoke of fire, Marcus knew how fire could choke a man in seconds killing faster then most blades. He rushed out, bearing his only weapon, a small bow and a few notched bodkins and looked for an exit.
He slinked across the innards of the castle, his small frame keeping himself away from the heat of flames and the heat of battle as unprepared Carrion bannermen fought against zealous serfs. However, stumbling upon a feast hall, he noticed a band of three unwielding serfs bearing pitchforks and kitchen daggers. The peasants began to approach him bearing arms, going to kill, and Marcus had to act in self-defense. Notching a bodkin with an arrowhead lit with the quick work of a pair of flint and steel, he fired into a feast table. The serfs laughed boisteriously, assuming he missed and taunting him for his noble status as they assumed he was a boy of the House, but their laughs quickly were muffled by an explosion. The liquor on the table, supposedly left from last night's dinner, exploded in conjecture with another, and the peasants were sent flying back, incapicated. However, this victory was short-lived as soon more peasants began to file into the long feast hall. Marcus could not fight them all off and soon began to panic as a young boy would. Fortunately, a hero appeared; the younger brother of the fallen Carrion lord came in, and swooped the boy up, before utilizing a secret exit within the feast hall to escape the hordes of savages.
It's been 2 years since that incident. Marcus continues to follow the estranged, weakened Carrion household, utilizing his pyrometrics and archery skills to fell foes. It's been his only home, and they've saved his life and taught him much. He journies with them to Elysium, hopefully to redeem their name and for Marcus to live a better life.
Ambitions for the Future: Marcus would like to serve his lords with greatness. Perhaps one day he can forge his own house of commoners, or become an exalted archer-knight such as the Greymanes, but for now he's just trying to compose himself after his bitter past.
Personality:
Despite being born in Seventis with boisterious northernors and talkative Southernors, Marcus is a rather introverted person, and likes to keep his thoughts to himself. He believes that the best way is the most rational way, and will often think a lot before acting against his own interests to help others. Despite this, he is loyal to his house because of his history, and would die to preserve the Carrion.
He has a pretty vivid fantasy, that in part has led to his almost morbid fascination with fire, which has become a bit of an obsession. Due to this, he almost always lights his arrows on fire. He has an extremely vivid fantasy, and will often just zone out thinking about whatever is on his mind. He appreciates precision, which is why he chose the bow rather than any hand to hand weapon, and derives great pleasure from shooting his bow. Even though he is introverted, this has only had an impact on his own personal thoughts, and has no problems socializing and having personal relationships.Being the pragmatical person he is, Marcus is capable of taking great risks if he deems the risk to reward proportion appropriate.
Skills:
Marcus is great with two things; bows and fire. Being a firestarter for a merc band at a young age helped him learn all the properties of fire while the bow has been the only weapon he's used consistenly in his past. He has some skill with a short swords and daggers from his prior years, but doesn't have the proper strength to bear a full on greatsword or double handed weapon. He can read and write at a basic level as well, and can do odd jobs thanks to his role as the "water boy" of sorts for proper bannermen.
Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Marcus bears a torn bannerman uniform of Carrion; unfortunately he's never bothered to ask for a new one and decided to attempt to stitch it back. He wears a hunting hat, and he has a rough pale skin as most lowborns do. He has a smaller frame then most with a height of 1.7 meters (5'6) and 62 kg (136 pounds)

Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____
1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?
Answer: Marcus finds it odd that the dark-clothed figure is walking out in the daytime. His curiousty overcomes his general fear however, and he climbs up on a roof to slowly stalk the figure. He notices the figure stumbles upon an alley, and begins to fiddle a lockpick into a door in the rear of the palace, where odd enough the guards seem to be gone, perhaps even disposed of. Marcus thinks fast; notching and firing a bow may be too loud and may alert him to other conspirators in this heist and the spark of flint and steel may alert the thief to flee, yet he could not just let a thief rob the coffers of his liege. He looks around for a way to disarm the figure, but sees none. He slowly gets out his bow, and notches a steel-tipped arrow, and slowly draws it back. Fortunately the figure was too preoccupied with picking the lock to notice it, and he he sneaks up and shoots the arrow into the persons leg. The dark figure shrieks and falls over, and Marcus quickly draws another arrow and aims it at the figure.
"Guards! Help!" he shouts.
The figure rolls over and draws a dagger, but Marcus sees the glint of the metal and dodges it, turns around and runs away.
2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?
Answer:
For some odd reason, Marcus hasn't his bow or flint on him. Marcus would NEVER leave home without a firestarter and has rarely done so without a bow. This causes him to panic as his head spins and his heart races; where did he leave his most valuable items? He looks around in the clearing, trying to figure out if he had lost them recently in the woods. He lifts up the longsword to see if it is anyone use, but Marcus finds its too heavy for him to properly use, as his swings are too slow for a refined swordsmen. Dropping the sword, Marcus sprints through the forest, hoping to go back home, praying that he finds his two only weapons. The thought of losing these two invaluable items has made Marcus totally forget about the bandits and the old man; however, the young Marcus's sprinting and panting has caused the bandits to think there is reinforcements afoot. Sheathing their blades, they warn the old man to pay his tribute on time and quickly flee, assuming the worst.
3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).
Answer:
Marcus stumbles unto the stall. Parched, he looks for something to quench his thirst.
"Have any drink?" he asks.
"well, I don't ´ave much, but oi have some real quality in this beer here"
"`ow much?"
"7 minas"
"seems abit high for some beer, i´ll give ya' 5."
"Would be for normal beer, but this be some good stuff. 6 is as far as i can go."
"This normal beer! Cloudy too! 5 is all you get!" sharply remarks Marcus, recognizing various liquors with his pyro-experence
"Right then, you tight bastard." grumbles the shopkeep, filling a mug out with beer. Marcus ignores the comment and drinks his fill, leaving 5 coins on the table.
