They ARE the character, not just controlling them through a computer. In your own words, define what the act of meta-gaming is: Meta-gaming is when you take Out of Character information into roleplay, and your character doesn't know this Out of Character information, but yet s/he still goes on to include it in his/her roleplay. In your own words, define what the act of power-emoting is: When a character types their action into chat, such as (Bob shoots an arrow at Joe!), but then goes on to say (And the arrow connects to Joe's heart, and Joe falls to the ground and dies of loss of blood!) Thus, one player doesn't let the other character respond, and makes the other character's fate for them, without the other player's permission. In-Character Details Character Name: Geran Stormway Character Race: Human Character biography - Make this at least 2 paragraphs long, which must explain your character’s history, appearance, personality, age and any other details you deem necessary: He had his arrow and black eyes trained on the deer, which was grazing, oblivious to the fact that its life was about to be taken. Geran shifted in the treetops of a small forest bordering the mountain range near Ager, still safe from the fog, however. He let the arrow take flight, and it made a nearly silent *thump* right behind the deer's eye. Geran hopped down from the tree, satisfied with his new kill. There, he prepared it, and took the back legs and rump with him, while burying the rest beneath a dead oak in the small clearing. Geran meandered back down his trail, which he had used almost all of his nineteen years. His parents were farmers, and while his two brothers and one sister helped out on the farm, he hunted whatever he could. Moose, deer, even rabbits. Whatever he came across. A few years ago, the fifty cattle they had had gotten spooked by a noise in the night, and some how broke from there pens, and bolted right up the mountain range, where they perished due to the fog. Because of that, Geran's hunting skills were even more important. Without him, they would have to spend their hard earned money on meat, which had gotten expensive as more animals, like the Stormway's herd, bolted in to the mountains due to unknown forces. Geran reached the outskirts of the forest, and saw Ager come into his sight. There, a few hundred feet away, was his family's field, where all of the Stormways went to work, reaping the harvest of wheat with make-do scythes. As Geran entered town, he noticed a beggar on the side of the road. "Please, son, please...anything to spare for an old guard?" Geran paused, unsure of what to do. Growing up, he was a soft-spoken person, who did what he was told. Sure, he could probably lead a small group of people if he needed to, but normally, situations like this, where he was solely responsible for making a decision, made him nervous, especially when others looked at him to see what he would do. Geran took out a bit of meat from his pack, and gave it to the beggar, as well as some of the hide. It wasn't much, but at least it would help the poor soul, he thought. He nodded to the beggar, who thanked him numerous times, and walked on. He took his hood down as he entered his family's home. Laying down his pack, which he would sort out later, his father came up from behind and scruffed his brown hair. His father had a naturally gruff voice, which contradicted his usual tone of voice that he used with Geran. "Good job, son, now would you help us out on the fields." Geran, who was usually respectful of authority, especially his parents, nodded and said, "Of course, father." What are your characters ambitions?: He doesn't want to stay in Ager. He wishes to explore the rest of the Holy Oren Empire, and perhaps the other kingdoms of Asulon. Please provide an in-game screenshot of your skin here: Is there anything else you would like to say about your character: He is a skilled archer, tracker, and hunter. He wishes to become more trained in swordsmanship as well. Open-Response-Questions Each question here must be answered with a minimum of one full paragraph, and detail the scene you are given in the way it would happen in roleplay. These questions should be answered in first person. Be detailed, not short. Upon entering the Mighty Human City of Arethor, you come across a shop-keeper calling out to sell his wares to passers-by. The shopkeeper is not a Human, he is a poor dwarf looking to make a living in a new city. What is your response? Geran looks over to the dwarf, and walks up to him, taking out a few coins. "Good sir, what are you selling today?" The dwarf replied with, "Oh, well, today I'm selling tanned leather armor, the best in the city, I'll tell you." Geran looked over the different selections, and picked out a pair of black boots. "There, how much?" The dwarf looked like his entire life had been turned around, just due to one customer buying his wares. "I'd say....20 coins." Geran slid the appropriate amount of coins, and thanked the dwarf for his business, and walked away with his new boots. The dwarf looked over the coins, and smiled at his newly added wealth. You’re wandering the Oren Road late at night, when a large Orc begins to threaten a nearby dwarf. There is no help nearby, and the situation looks like it will escalate into violence soon, what does your character do? Geran approaches the two quietly, wondering what he should do, wondering whether we was about to regret what he was about to do."Oi, what's going on here?" The dwarf protested,"This brute is trying to take me money, and me head, I think!" The orc turned to Geran, and snarled,"Hm.....I'd say you should get out of here, unless you want new bruises and a loss of blood..." The orc swung at the dwarf with his meaty fist, and the dwarf collaped in a heap. "Human, you still here? You're next!" The orc charged at Geran, but Geran dodged out of the way, his hunter skills coming into play. He knocked an arrow, and aimed at the orc's head. "Stop!", Geran commanded, “I-I’ll shoot it if I must!” The orc, stopped, and taunted,"I'm going to break you..." The orc roared and charged, and Geran let the arrow fly, and the orc stopped dead in his tracks, an arrow protruding from his forehead. The orc collapsed, and was dead. Geran went over to the dwarf. The dwarf mumbled, and then opened his eyes lazily, “W-wher...Where is the brute!!?” The dwarf jumped up, seemingly ready for more. Then he spotted the dwarf on its back with an arrow through its head. “Oh…I see. Good aim, you have there.” Geran nodded. “Thanks, my good dwarf, these roads are perilous, do you need a fellow traveler to go along with you?” The dwarf nodded, “Oh, that would be appreciated. Wouldn’t want to run into several of those green monsters on me own now!” Together, Geran and the dwarf walked down the road, Geran’s bow always out at the ready, in case more orcs came. Whilst walking down the road to Malinor, you stumble upon an old man. His walking stick , looks weak and frail, and just as you are about to ask something, the stick breaks, and the man falls to the ground. As he falls down, a bag of Minas falls to the ground, and splits open. As you watch the multiple coins spill out, you peer down at the defenceless man. What does your character do?: Geran looks around for anybody else that saw the old man fall. He runs up to the man, and sees that he is unconscious. He puts the Minas back in another spare leather pouch that he had, and puts them next to the old man. He looks the man over for any open wounds, but there are none, luckily. He looks around, and finds a sturdy stick about four feet long, with a Y in the end of it, which he tucks next to the old man as well. He sees an old woman, and a younger man around the age of 20, running to Geran. The old woman said in exasperation, “Oh, my dear Evart! Is he okay?” Geran nodded, and said,”He collapsed when I came by. He’s fine, just knocked out from falling when his walking stick fell.” The old woman, which he assumed to be his wife, thanked him graciously. “Thank you, thank you. My grandson here will take him back to our cottage. Thank God you came!” Geran smiled at the woman’s gratitude, and also wished her farewell, and her grandson as well. Then he continued along the road, with one more glance back at the family, before he continued on to Malinor. EDIT: Made some grammar revisions and added on to Power-Emoting section.
