Definitions
In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any
definitions from elsewhere!:
Role-playing: Role-playing is taking a role (Such as a Halfling, or an
elf) and living out their life as you think their personality would allow, and
how their abilities and size would affect them in Asulon.
Meta-gaming: Meta-gaming is using OOC (Out of Character)IC (In
Character) To gain an advantage. For example, intercepting your friends cargo,
since he told you about it OOCly
Power-emoting: Power-emoting (Which I’m guessing is Power gaming) is
where you just “Power” over the other players, giving them no chance of recovering,
E.G /me (Or whatever the command is) chops off the man’s hands in one foul
sweep. This gives the other player no chance of winning/recover, or including
his opinion.
In-Character Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:
Full Name: Drado Pitcher
Current Age: 20
Sub-race (if any): Halfling
Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):
I grew up in a small island, off the coast of Asulon. The island was small and had
a population of around fifty, and combination of humans and Halflings, the
village was mostly just old boats which had been converted into houses. When I
was a child, my father used to sail a small fishing boat. He took me along on
the boat rides and taught me how to fish, what sort of boat to use, how to know
when a fish has taken its bait, and when to strike. When I was a bit older and
I had just begun basic sword training, my mind wondered. I wanted more
excitement, so I climbed on the roof-tops of the make-shift houses, using the netting that hung on the sides to haul myself up.
I was slinking along the tops of the houses, illuminated in the moon-light, I
felt adrenaline surge through my body when I reached the end of the row of
houses. I jumped down and ran back to my house, giddy with excitement.
Two years later, on my eighteenth birthday, my whole life was just
beginning. My father smiled down at me and said “Son, this is the first day of
the rest of your life. I’ve trained you how to fish, so you’re starting your
job as a fisherman, just like I am, and just like my father was” I nodded, as
fishermen in these parts were respected. I fell asleep that night, impatiently
waiting to fall asleep. Tomorrow was the start of my life.
After two years, fishing was boring. I wanted something more fun, so
when the traders came into town, I got onto one of the traders ships to look
around, I ventured down into the cargo-hold looking around. I stepped on a wet
rope and slipped, banging my head on the hull of the ship. I swayed and held
the side of my head before slipping down into a open crate, pulling down a tar-pooling
with me, which covered my unconscious body. I had started my unlikely adventure.
I awoke startled to the sound of men crying out in fear. The whole boat
was shaking and turning over. The almighty crashes of waves hit the deck of the
boat, sweeping men of their feet and into the depths of the ocean. I clutched
the tar-pooling over me in fear, unsure what to do. There was a loud crack, and
everything went cold. Water flooded into the crate and I struggled under the
weight of water and the tar-pooling that was draped over me. I slowly fell
unconscious again, the muffled distorted cries of men just audible under the
water.
I felt the glare of sunshine beating down on my face. I turned my head
and coughed up sea-water. When I opened my eyes, I was floating on some
drift-wood not too far away from a beach. I swum towards the shore, using the
drift-wood as a bouncy-aid. I hauled myself onto the beach and coughed up my
lungs, emptying them of sea water before looking around. I looked up and saw a
human who ran to my aid. He talked to me, but his voice went over my ears. He
picked me up by the hand and we begun to walk. We walked for what seemed an
hour, and when we finally arrived- We were at the Human Capital. This is where
my adventure was finally beginning.
Ambitions for the Future: Just to survive, make money and try to make a ‘perfect’ homestead for
myself and any of my kin.
Personality: Cheerful, positive view on what is to come, friendly to anyone who is friendly
towards him, and defensive of his friends.
Skills: Reading, writing, brewing, tree climbing, very light sword/dagger
training, fishing, harp playing and painting.
Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin):The average size for a Halfling, fair skin, one
brown, one blue eye, light black stubble, wearing a button-up shirt with a pair
of black sheep-skin trousers with a leather belt.

Open-Response-Questions
Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the
event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____
1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards
the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?
Answer: I walked along the Human capital, looking at the food stalls and
fishing stalls, breathing in the smells of the markets. I looked around and
noticed a figure darting into the back alleys; I raised an eyebrow and followed
after him, unsure of what to do. He gripped a nearby wall, scaling it fairly
quickly. I perused him from the back alleys and I soon noticed that he was
making his way towards the palace. He hopped the wall to the palace and I
panicked, I alerted one of the nearby guards, quickly tell them of what has
happened. They noted it and ran towards the palace. Even though the palace
guards are experienced, a heads up to anyone is always useful.
2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?
Answer: Considering that I am a Halfling, not the strongest of races or
people, I would generally attempt to avoid conflict. I’d hide my sword,
somewhere, maybe behind a nearby rock or stash it away in my backpack. I then approached
the conflict and attempted to defuse the situation, making sure not to offended
anyone or make the situation worse in anyway. They didn’t have any of it. They threatened
to string me up in a tree and hang me; I apologised and quickly walked back.
They turned their attention away from me. I quickly looked around and ran away
from the clearing, heading to a dirt path that I had seen not too long ago. I
walked along the road for the good part of ten minutes before I encountered a
pair of humans a little later on and pointed them that way, I returned home,
satisfied that I had achieved something.
3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind
a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).
Answer:
As I walked along the high-street, a stall catches my eye. It’s selling
fishing rods, but no price was displayed. I walked up to it, rubbing the
stubble on my face, I looked up and asked “How much for a rod and some string
to go with it?” The man behind it smiled and said “Whatever you can offer” I
looked in my bag and searched it. I had two fish, both cooked and a somewhat
used iron sword. I smiled and offered the fish saying “These for the string?”
The man nodded, handing the string over, I put it quickly away in my bag. I
glanced at the fishing rod and said “What do you want for that?” The man smiled
and said “Show me what you have” I pulled out the old iron sword and showed it
to the man saying “Is this okay?” The man nodded and said “It is” I handed the
sword over and took the rod, checking it over. It was in good condition. I
nodded to the man before moving away, I was going to catch some more fish now,
and go back and get my sword back.
