Full Name: Douglas Mctrevor
Current Age: 21
Sub-race (if any):
Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):
Douglas lived out his youth with no trouble. He was popular and handsome and the city he lived in was huge. The family were rich and could buy plenty of things for the children. Everything seemed to be perfect, until the family were betrayed.
The family supplied the city's food and armour feeding the city and increasing protection for it. The family became so rich by selling good and fresh food and clean outstanding armour to the government. This, however, concerned the government. They soon realized that the Mctrevor's had become more rich then the government and had more trust than them. Douglas was 17 at this time.
One sunny afternoon Douglas and his sister were playing catch outside in the front garden when they heard heavy footsteps coming towards to house. They were tall and armored men with their hands on their swords. When Douglas saw this he thought of some scenarios of why the men were all suited up and were carrying weapons. One scenario was that they were assassins sent to stop the family's power and money. Doug stopped playing with his younger sister and told her to go play with her friends in the city. The armored men knocked down the door and stomped into the house demanding the parents to show themselves. Doug entered the house through the back door and sneaked upstairs and into his parents bedroom, where they were sleeping. He woke them up and told them of the men downstairs. Noises and glass smashing and things being dropped were coming from downstairs.
"Douglas, I want you to take your mother and get to the town square. Bring your sister as well. I will meet with you there after I am finished here." Doug's father, Chris, opened up a door in the room and put on some iron armour, he picked up an iron long-sword whilst Doug and his mother sneaked out through the back entrance.
Doug went into the city and found his sister and told her to come to the square where they waited for hours.
The manor they lived in could not be seen from the city square so Douglas decided it was best he checked what happened. When he arrived the house has been completely trashed. Many expensive items were stolen.
"Douglas, my boy! Come here!" His father was crawling out of the kitchen blood all over his face. Douglas was too shocked to reply.
"My boy, go into the basement and open the old rusted door, here is the key" Without hesitation Douglas did what his father asked. He open up the old door and proceeded inside to find a collection of swords and armor. He thought that his father probably meant for him to get armour and a weapon to protect the family so he chose an iron longsword and a full suit of armour which he could barley carry. When he went back upstairs his father spoke his last words;
"Douglas. Those men were hired assassins and were sent by a man in anthos to kill us. The government spoke to this man in Anthos and the man was the leader of a group of assassins. The government were scared of us. I know this because those fools told me it all before they attacked me. I wanted to know why my life had to end today. Son, take care of your mother and sister. Train and hunt down that man in Anthos." Douglas stood and watched his father die as his spoke his last word.
Doug went back down in the basement and went back into the old rusted door room. There he found books and maps about Anthos and how to get there. He then trained for the next 4 years with his Uncle to took in the family after the attack. He was trained with a bow and with a sword and learnt many different techniques. He was taught how to smith his own weapons and armour. After 4 years of training Douglas fixed up his fathers old iron armour and put it on. He then hired a ship to Anthos in search for the assassins and man who sent them. He would kill the governors but that would result in the downfall of the city, which he did not want. He arrived in Anthos at the age of 21 and began his search meeting two men at the docks who's name was Luke Richard and Conner Aderladi who showed him around the city introducing him to Salvus, the Capital and Kastoria. Now in Anthos, Douglas begins his search.
Ambitions for the Future: To hunt down the group of assassins who killed his father and who destroyed his family's home and wealth.
Personality: Doug has a dark side to him. A mention about family or a father makes him angry and a not very nice person to be around. He also has a light side to him; he is usually happy and talkative and funny, but sometimes gets very stressed over the memory's of the betrayal that occurred 4 years ago. Skills: Has a good shot with a bow but his eye sight makes if difficult for him to hit targets fmro a long distance and a strong swing with a sword. He has good reactions when in battle but his breathing problems make it quite difficult when fighting this makes him get out of breath easily. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Doug has brown and hair and a brown beard he has blue eyes and is quite muscular.
Any other details you wish to share about your character: Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____ 1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?
Answer: I slowly make my way over to the guards keeping a close eye on the mysterious man approaching the palace. I notice the man is picking up pace so I use my speed and rush over to the guards. Ever so slightly out of breath I say to the guards in a low voice;
"Guards, there is a man with dark clothing approaching the emperors palace, I fear he may be an assassin" The guards look over my shoulder to check and they see the man running after him shouting. The shouting alerts other guards within the palace and the hooded man runs from the scene. I pull out my bow and fire it towards to hooded man, it misses him due to his vision but startles the hooded man and he ducks thinking he dodged it but he falls over and struggles to get back up. The guards run after him and hooded man is sent to the jail.
2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react?
Answer: I have my iron armour on and my iron longsword beside my waist.All this equipment on my back and around my waist makes me tired due to my breathing problems. I move closer in on the situation observing the bandits carefully. I realize that they are trying to collect a debt the old man owes them. I position myself in a bush a couple meters away from the bandits. I climb over it and see the man looks very emotional. I unsheathe my sword and the noise of it unsheathing alerts the bandits. They turn around and question me about why I am here.
"Leave this man alone, don't you see you are clearly upsetting him." The bandits laugh and one swings his sword at me, I use my good reflexes and duck and roll to the right of the bandit. I crawl away and stumbled back on his feet. I then try to run at the one of the bandits whilst the other bandit approached the man. The bandit I run at simply walks to his left and leaves his out foot to trip me up. I see this and jump over the foot and I am facing away from the bandit. I turn around swinging my sword as hard as I can towards the bandits stomach. He had already turned and saw the attack and jumps backwards lunging at me. I fall over from exhaustion, but I quickly crawl backwards towards the cottage seeing the old man being taken away. I get up eventually and watch the bandit run towards me, I throw my sword towards the bandits feet. The bandit is paying attention to me and sees my fling my sword but he does not react in time and it hits his knee sending him over to the ground. I pick up my sword and jog slowly into the tree line knowing I have failed. 3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colorful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens). Answer: I notice a sheaming iron sword and glimmers in the sunlight. I point at it and say;
"How much for that there sword?"
The Dwarf looks at it and says that I can decide the price. I think about the cost of iron ingots and put them together.
"Well that longsword looks as if it was made from 2 or 3 large iron ingots. The price for one ingot is usually around 20 minas. So I will say 50, seen as I don't know how many ingots it is made from."
The Dwarf replies instantly;
"It was made from 3 so going along with what you said I will go to 60 minas."
I believe the Dwarf as he seems like an honest person, but I want a cheaper price.
"I will go against what I said, slightly and offer you 55 minas for it."
The Dwarf sees no problem with this and accepts the price of 55 minas. He hands me the sword and I hand him the 55 minas and leave the stall.
