Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):
Life treated me fairly. I was born on a newly, melted on fresh spring day. My pa used to say that winter seemed to disapear overnight to make room for the flowers, fawns, and me. Late at night while the coals of the fire danced in hues of red and orange, the moonlight slanting through the window above my bed, my father would tell me stories of that winter. It was one of the longest and hardest he had ever set eyes on. He told me how the air lay thick with evil while the wind howled through the cracks of the house making it nearly impossible to get warm. He had to kill his prized cow, Petunia, that winter. All the food was gone. The evils of the winter seemed to steal it away in the night. He told me how he would hold my mama so close everynight, not daring to get a wink of sleep. He confided in me with his fears that the cold would take us both away during the night if he ever dared slumbered. I swore I saw little tears in the corners of his eyes whenever he told me that part. My father never cries. Maybe once. I lost my older brother to the evils that winter. They whisked him away into the stormy night sky. Sometimes I catch my pa staring into the woods, looking for something that isn't even there. Maybe he's looking for my mama too.
My mama left when I was seven. She ran off in a fit of rage, and a whole lot of tears. I don't know the whole story, but apparently my ma believed my pa wasn't doing the best he could, providing for us and all. I thought he was doing a fine job though. He worked in the fields as soon as the day broke, and stayed out there until the last rays of the sun melted on the horizon. His hands would be bloody and his mares sagging, but he would always wrap my ma up in his big arms before sitting down and eating his supper silently without a word. Our farm was small, yes, but it provided more than enough whenever winter decided to show up with a blizzard rumbling through the woods. I never did understand my mother.
From then on, I went out on the fields with my father to work on our small farm of ours. At first I was useless, and sent to pick tomatoes and carrots in the vegetable garden. And boy, did I work on that vegetable garden. I sowed, fertilized, and watered that garden until my own hands held the scars of a farm boy, and not a girl. I wanted, needed to prove to my father I wasn't useless on the farm, that I could help on the big field he so pain stakingly worked on everyday as soon as the snow melted away. Whenever I was done with the garden, I moved onto the barn. I cleaned, fed, and took care of those animals until I began to act like them. Well that's what my pa would say whenever I walked back into the house with him after those long days of work. He'd smile at me and tell me to start dinner while he cleaned up the house. I miss those days dearly.
Schooling wasn't all that big of a deal to me, but my pa said I wouldn't get anywhere in life if I didn't figure out how to read and write. I'd work on arithmatic, literature, science, and even art during the winter when my pa was out hunting and trapping. If I didn't do my schoolwork, my pa would not be very happy.
If anything, my favorite days would be when I was fifteen. For some reason, my father suddenly decided it would be extremely useful if I learned to swordfight. I didn't disagree at all. I always wanted to learn, but never had the courage to ask my father to teach me. Every Sunday during the summer was my father and I's rest day. It was on this day that I would build my own sword, practice for hours, and even one day kill my first animal. I never knew how much this skill would benefit me in the future.
At the age of seventeen, my pa became very sick. His lungs seemed to fill with fluid, his cough seeming to contaiminate any room he went into. He laid in bed for weeks and weeks. I struggled to keep up with all the work he could not do. The field of wheat, the barn, the garden, the housekeeping, all on top of taking care of him. My pa is one of the greatest men I have ever met. He taught me so many things throughout my life. Farming, trade, swordmanship, and most of all, teaching me that pain demands to be felt. My father finally died at the age of forty-one.
I have been sitting around on this farm all by myself for two years now. The only other living thing I have talked to are the animals. I am ready to start a new life, as my father would have wanted me to. He didn't raise me like a Coondawl for nothing. It's time to start a new life.
Ambitions for the Future:
I aim to travel the world as much as I can, before settling down in the countryside when I'm thin and frail. I want to talk to elves, dwarves, and orcs. I want to meet others that lived the anicent tales. I want to learn more than what this small farm could never give me. Personality:
My pa used to call me as stubborn as a goat. I'm patient though, because sometimes that's the only way to get something. Determination is what drives me the most though. I am kind, and quiet in the end. Skills:
I can sword fight, farm, read, write, and trade. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin):
I have blonde hair, and blue eyes. (I tried to change the eyes color as best I could. Also, I couldn't take an in game screenshot but here's the link to the skin http://www.minecraftskins.com/skin/1090082/blue-dress/ ) Any other details you wish to share about your character:
None at this time. Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do? Answer: As I walked through the huma capital, I could not take my eyes off the immense amount of buildings and people taking up every corner. I shuffled my way through the mass, hoping to find a bit of stray food or money laying around. I look around before spotting a dark-clothe figure. Sure I had seen many before but this one seemed... off. Gaurds seemed to be poking around every corner of this city, but I found that they were a bit arrogant and obnoxious. Curiosity nipped at me as the figure stealthily maneuvered his way through the crowd toward the Emperor's palace. How much harm could there be if I followed for just a bit? I quickly make my way over to the shadows to follow this figure. 2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword, how do you react? Answer:I tell them to stop, for he is an old man with little to live for anymore. By threatening him, they are not making themselves bigger and better, but instead defiling themselves in attempting to steal from a man they clearly know cannot defend himself. If they wish to prove themselves strong and capable they should take on someone who is more capable of taking them. If they ignore me, I will attempt to defend this old man from these bandits. 3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens). Answer: Traveling through the capital a colorful stall catches my eye. I make my way over, warily observing the items the man has displayed. Bread, wheat seeds, some armor, apples, and an iron sword. I look at my own rag tag display of items of bread, leather armor, a wooden axe and a stone sword. I offer up all my bread and armor for the iron sword in hopes that the man is a fool and will give it to me. Alas, he is not. I throw in my storm sword, but only if he puts in some of his wheat seeds. He ponders for a moment, before agreeing to the trade. I proudly take my new iron sword and wheat seeds before heading off to make some new leather armor and to grow some wheat.
