His family was middle-class in terms of wealth and position. Gareth has always had a conflicting relationship with his brother. Gareth's immediate family was rather large compared to most dwarves. At family gatherings, he would often times find himself alone. Gareth would always dream of one day leaving everyone behind and starting his own path. As life continued, Gareth followed his path of one day leaving his family. He continued to grow skillfully and mentally. Gareth wanted to impress everyone he worked with. One day as Gareth was returning home from the mines, he overheard his family discussing plans to remove him from the family. Gareth's heart was torn after hearing his family's opinion of him. From this point on, Gareth was a totally different person. He ran away from home in search of a better way of life. After Gareth departed from his family, he departed to the Wilds where he remained for 3 seasons. Here Gareth trained his skills of mining and smithing. He became a well-known worker by many. Gareth learned how to always get the job done. Gareth moved even farther away from his hometown. He stumbled upon a new city called, Val'Halla, where he met the Jarl, Lucious. After briefly speaking with the Jarl, Gareth left again to travel back to the dwarven capital of Kal'Azgoth. Here, he met up with his brother where he had not seen for quite some time. Gareth and his brother began to talk and slowly manned the bond that had been torn in their youth. After renewing his relationship with his brother, they split ways. Gareth found his way back to the city of Val'Halla. He is ready to become an important figure in the dwarven community. Ambitions for the Future: Work my way up the social pyramid. Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point. ____ 1. Whilst mining deep in the undergrounds of Kalos you see a large deposit of diamond ore at the other side of the ravine you are on. There is a very thin rock bridge that looks precariously unstable, but it is the only way to access the deposit. What do you do? Answer: As a cave dwarf, I dream of finding deposits of vast quantities of diamond ore. I've been trained to be very careful when it comes to obtaining valuable ores. Now that I've found some, it's time to put my training to the test. I observe the rock bridge I am about to cross. Seeing that the rock bridge is obviously unstable, I decide to take a risk and unload all of my heavy mining gear. Free of the weight, I should be able to cross the bridge with ease. As I slowly creep across the bridge, I realize halfway through that it is starting to crumble beneath my feet. Realizing the odds of getting back after obtaining the ore are slim, I decide to leap across the remaining length of the bridge. I quickly mine the ore and run back across the bridge before it collapses. 2. You are sitting in the local tavern with a large pint of ale in your hand - sitting nearby you is a rather young dwarf whom is clearly going through a bad time. He is crying to himself, and clutching a small wooden hammer toy. In the other corner of the room two shady dwarves are sitting whispering to each other and pointing occasionally at the dwarf. They stand up, one with a small dagger in his hand and begin to approach the young dwarf. What do you do? Answer: As soon as the two dwarves stand, I immediately begin to draw my sword. I give the young dwarf a quick glance of comfort. I pull him behind me unsure if the two dwarves will attack instantly. I ready myself for any kind of attack they may attempt. Stunned by my straightforward actions, the two dwarves slowly begin to back away. As my confidence begins to rise, so does the young dwarf's beside me. We both begin to advance and the fight is over before it has begun. 3. Whilst wandering through the Dwarven Caverns you hear a voice call out to you; “Oi, ye’! C’mere n’ get ye’rself an ale!”. You spin on your heel and see a heavily bearded bar-owner looking at you - a huge grin on his face, and a mug of ale in his hand. How do you react? Answer: I take a quick look at the jolly bar-owner. I then realize that he is not a threat. I can notice this because he has no weapons and does not look skillful in the act of fighting. I ask him, "What do ye' want?" The bar-owner quickly replies, "Te' share a drink with ya!" Seeing no danger in the situation, I decide in my mind to accompany the jolly dwarf back to his bar. After a fun time of drinking, we part ways saying, "Hope ta' see you again someday!"
