Many applicants try to play a talented assassin, or someone who's parents were killed by orcs and wants revenge, etc. When everyone tries to play these uncreative and obsolete characters, roleplay dries up. But when everyone plays a unique and well-rounded character, LotC is plenty enjoyable! For example, if a human were to fly like superman, that would be power gaming. - Cloud Temple isn't technically a town, so your character wouldn't be able to live there. Yes, a mage could potentially do these things(save for calming the seas), but all with very complicated build-ups, and specific backlashes. Please remove this part from your biography... if you have magic related questions, however, you may send me a PM and I can either answer them or point you in the right direction. - Lin'sulan did not exist 175 years ago. To amend this, you may either make your character younger (no older than 50 -- I would recommend this age, as no elven father would send any elf beneath the age of 50 on a sailing expedition.
