In-Character
Information:
Complete the following biography on your character:
Full Name: Eric Arthur Flick
Current Age: 23
Sub-race (if any): Northener.
Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):
Eric Arthur Flick was born in a small, poor area just outside Aldersberg. He is the son of
Anders and Elisabeth Flick. Erics mother, Elisabeth, died giving birth to him.
Eric continued to live with his father Anders, who was a rather poor fisherman,
up until the age of six. After a devastating pneumonia outbreak Anders died,
handing Eric over to his godfather, Lars Orfleck, and his family. Lars was a
fairly successful tradesman, and treated Eric as one of his own. He was also
very well-educated, knowledge which he passed on to Eric. However, Eric's
godfather possessed some rather distressing worldviews left over from his
troubled childhood. Lars had some very nationalistic political views, and
claimed that the humans and the Holy Oren Empire were the rightful rulers to
all of Anthos. Due to this, Eric was left with some troubling, yet innocent,
ideas.
On his 17th birthday, Eric left the Orfleck household and started searching for a way to
make a living. He found a job at a local butchery in Aldersberg owned by a man
named Benjamin Locke, the two of which became close friends. Eric worked at the
butchery and lived in a small room upstairs for little over 4 years, learning
many things from Benjamin. Eric started to earn some money and by the time he
turned 21, he had made quite a bit. He made plans to buy his own little cabin
in the outskirts of Aldersberg, and wanted to become a wealthy tradesman.
However, the butchery where Eric worked and lived was burnt to the ground in a sudden
fire, destroying most of Erics savings and possessions. Benjamin, who had lost
everything, could not
keep Eric anymore. To make things worse, a rumour spread to Eric, that the fire
was caused by a group of dwarves living in the neighborhood. This woke memories
within Eric from the time with his uncle.
Eric had lost everything, and is now wandering out, out of Aldersberg, to reach Abresi
and to hopefully serve the cause of the Emperor.
Ambitions for the Future: While Eric worked at a butchery for a large part of his
young years, it is not a profession he wishes to continue in to any greater
extent, if possible. Eric, with his pure loyalty for the Holy Oren Empire,
wishes to work close to the leaders of the Empire in any way possible, in order
to serve the nation. If this means being a butcher, providing food for the
military or working within the military itself as a soldier, so be it.
Personality:
Eric is ambitious and idealistic, and can achieve great things once he sets his mind to it. Although he is well-educated and well-mannered, Eric can be naive at times when he feels as if no one is doing what is necessary, leading to unwise decision-taking. He is also extremely loyal to the Emperor, very proud of being human and living in the Holy Oren Empire, and would do close to anything to ensure the continued prosperity of the human race. In social situations, Eric is often kind and very honest,
but will sacrifice any of these traits if he deems it necessary. He is persistent and very certain of what he wants. He has a strong sense of "justice".
Skills:
Due to his history in the butchery, Eric is good with both meat and food in
general, and has some training in hunting. However, he wishes to pursuit some
kind of military career, something which is possible due to his rather natural
talent when it comes to swordfighting.
Appearance
(this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Eric is young but
not light, instead he is tough and robust. He is around 6 feet tall, and weighs
88 kg. His hair is medium-lenght and dark brown, and his eyes are blue. He
wears a ragged, green west with a gray shirt underneath.

____
1.
Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily
making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good.
There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do?
Answer: I stop and stare at the dark-clothed character, as a sudden wave of panic and
desperation washes over me. What is he doing? The Emperor is in danger, I have
to do something!, I think to myself as I watch him start to climb the wall
leading up to the palace. I know that the guards are within shouting distance,
but I don't want to yell and thus alarm the enemy in front of me. I reach my
hand back and grab the knife hanging from my belt, as I slowly make my way
towards him. Firmly grasping the knife, my hands trembling from the sudden rush
of adrenaline, I decide to act. "Hey, you! Stop!", I yell and point
my knife against the dark-clothed character. He stops immediately. "You
don't want to do this", he says in a raspy voice. I notice he's carrying
something in his right arm, but I still move up closer to him. "I am going
to turn you in to the guards. I cannot let you harm the Emperor or anyone else.
Don't do anything stupid." The man still does not turn around, but
continues. "What's it to you anyway, eh? You don't know the Emperor. He
has done nothing for you. Just back away, kid, you do not want anything to do
with this."
I feel a sudden wave of anger going through my body. "How could you say that!? You
should be hanged for that! The Emperor is a far greater man than you will ever
be!". I am now only a few feet away from the man. The man suddenly turns
around, and in one quick movement he swings his own knife and hits the knife
out of my hand. He continues to swing against my neck, but I manage to grab his
hand with my left hand. With my right hand I get a firm grip of his throat and
pushes him to the ground. He drops the knife, but I do not let go. The anger
gets the better of me and I tighten my grip around his throat. Taking a deep
breath, I manage to calm down, and release my grip. I shout for the guards as I
hold him down, and they take him away.
2.
Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in
which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed
with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear
to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron longsword,
how do you react?
Answer:
Upon seeing the unusual sight before my eyes, I quickly crouch behind a bush.
One of the bandits starts laughing. "Come on then, old man. Try me.".
The old man takes a swing against the bandit, but the bandit quickly steps to
the side and gets in a punch in the man's side. The old man falls to the
ground, losing his breath. Angered by the cowardness of these pityful
criminals, I grab my sword. Taking a deep breath, I stand up and walk out from
behind the bush. I swing my sword without hesitation against the bandit who hit
the old man. The sword digs into the side of his thigh, breaking his bone and
causing him to fall to the ground letting out a loud scream. The second bandit,
confused and disoriented from the sudden attack, makes a weak, unfocused swing
in my direction. I block the attack and stick my sword into his upper abdomen, and
use my strenght to pull the sword out through his side, killing him almost
instantly. I sheath my sword and pull out my knife. I turn around, walk up to
the other bandit and slits his throat without hesitation.
I turn to the old man. "Are you okay?"
3. You
are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man
standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the
man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just
about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to
haggle and choose prices. What do you do?
(Explain:
your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens).
Answer:
Being rather new to the city, I was in desperate need of some essential items.
"So what do ye want, kid?" I look at the shelves for something of
interest. Having thought for a little while, I point at the loaves of bread.
"I'd like three of those, and a couple of cans of milk, please. I also
want a smaller hunting knife if you have one, and a pouch that I can wear
around my waist. I have 25 minas." The man looks at me with an uncertain
look. "Ye know, I could probably get a far better deal than 25 minas for
those things."
"25 minas is what I have. Oh and I'd like some pork as well." The man
chuckles. "Are ye trying to ruin me, kid?" I look at him without
changing my expression. "25 minas." The man continues laughing for a
bit, but he quickly stops. He looks at me with a now serious expression.
"Boy, ye sure are stubborn... alright then! 25 minas it is!" He hands
over the goods and I hand him the money. I let out a quick "Thank
you." before turning around and continuing my walk through the city.
