Out-Of-Character Information Please fill out the following questions as accurately as possible, and ensure the essential details are accurate. Mine craft Account Name: My account name is Lazy_Smurf. How old are you?: I'm currently 16 years of age. Time-Zone: I live in Wales, the United Kingdom. Have you read, understood and agreed to the rules?: I've understood, and I agree to abide by these rules at all times. What previous experience have you had in role-playing?: In the past, I've role-played upon other games, such as Runescape, a free MMO. Most players didn't see any point roleplaying within the game of Runescape, but I with a couple of friends thought it'd be fun, and so it was. How did you hear about the Lord of the Craft?: I discovered the Lord of the Craft while browsing through Mine status. Link any applications that you have previously made for the server: None. Have you posted this application on the Mine craft Forum? If not, then please do so (link above): I will post this application when complete. Have you read the Human lore, and shall you ensure you make use of it and follow it in your biography?: I have read the human lore and I ensure to make use of it within my application. I've also read the lore for the other three races, which seemed quite interesting. Definitions In your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from elsewhere!: Role-playing: From my past experience, I believe role-playing to be something for players who's imaginative and likes to tell a story. It's a form of communication through a different character's eyes. This said character would have its own story, appearance, personality and other useful information. Overall, it's a different aspect and view while playing a game. Meta-gaming: After reading some information, I believe meta-gaming to be when a player uses his/hers knowledge that is currently not available to their character.
For example, someone could give you a drink as you were rather thirsty, the player knows it's poison, but the character doesn't. A person would be meta-gaming if they didn't allow the character to drink it.
"I'm not allowing MY character drink this because I know it's poison!" Power-emoting: Power-emoting is when a player disallows another player to react to them during a role-play.
For example, you could emote that you were going to steal their character's possessions, and run off before they have a chance to deny it or stop the action.
*John steals James' ring and runs away.* In-Character Information: Complete the following biography on your character: Full Name: His full name is Thomas Maric. Current Age: He is currently 24 years of age. Sub-race (if any): None. Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long): Thomas Maric was born in the woods near Ager, not too far away from civilized towns. His mother and father were hunters for the local village, and enjoyed it immensely. His parents quickly trained and expressed an interest in having him also become a hunter. He fully embraced his family's lineage without concern or care. He was trained from a very young age to be an excellent marksman so that he would always have an advantage in hunting, even if it wasn't a bow, necessarily. Luckily for him, it was clear to his parents that he was more than just skilled with a bow. Within a few years, it was found that he was a prodigy with any ranged weapon in his hands.
When he turned only 5, his little sister was born. He grew up in adoration of his little sister, always trying to teach her and show her knowledge. He always played and helped with his sister any way he could. They lived a rather normal life until, one day at the age of 15, when he, his sister and father were out in the forest hunting a specific type of elk, a small group of northerner hunters appeared. There were about 8 of them, standing muscular and sturdy. His Father immediately pulled out his hunting axe and pushed his children behind him. The hunters weren't exactly in the mood to play games, it seemed, and attacked within seconds.
Fearing the death of his children, he ordered Thomas to take his sister and run as fast as he could back to their home. Thomas picked up his little sister and simply ran, despite wanting to protest to his father that he could help them. As he was running, he heard his father shout in pain and anger, damning the northern hunters. His little sister crying in his arms, he eventually was hit with an arrow directly in the shoulder, unfortunately piercing through his small body and into the smaller form of his little sister.
He fell to his knees and looked at his sister, who continued to cry, but in weak whimpers. On her dying breath, his sister told him she loved him and to take care of his parents. As his sister laid dead in his arms, blood pooling all over her body, he ripped the arrow from his sister and himself, using it as a dagger. The training he had received from his parents came in rather handy in this situation. Despite that the arrow was slightly fractured, the shaft and head were intact. He turned to his aggressors, enraged and screaming in hatred. He lunged at them, surprising them with his ferocity.
He fatally wounded both of them and went after his father. When he finally found him, he was surrounded by all the other hunters, dead. After mourning the loss of his father and sister, he took his sister's necklace and carried their bodies back to his home. After telling his mother, he went to retrieve anything of value left on the hunters and returned home. The next few months were extremely harsh on him, feeling incredible doubt and pain and anger for his loss.
Finally, by his 16th birthday, he had enough of it all and packed everything he could, leaving his mother in the forest to go live on his own elsewhere. He also packed his sister's mandolin, not forgetting that she used to enjoy playing it and expressing the music to others. His mother eventually moved to the city of Kingston, located in the lands of Salvus, for protection. He himself gradually moved there.
Settled down, Thomas took the opportunity to quickly mature, grow and learn on his own in the hard methods of reality to hunt, survive and kill. He lived within the city up until the age of 24, where he departed to live a proper life of his own, and survive the harsh but rewarding depths of the wilderness. *Sorry if I've written too much, I may have went a little overboard.*
Ambitions for the Future: Thomas' ambitions is to unravel his life, enough to feel properly settled. He hopes to create new experiences and great friendships. He's in search of what the world can offer him on his journey through life. Personality: On the surface, Thomas is a gentle sort. He's not particularly antisocial, and is rather polite to people, but he can be slightly solitary at times, and is a bit wary of people in general. Trust from him is not easily won. He is, however, able of showing kindness and compassion, and is not incapable of befriending others. At other times, he can be prideful and hot-headed, especially if you've gotten his temper riled up. Thomas is a stubborn, wilful person, with a tendency to be rather outspoken. With his survivor past, he's capable of defending himself, and knows well enough how to live off the land, even if he isn't the most experienced of travellers. Skills: Thomas is a skilful hunter and is a prodigy with any ranged weapon in his hands. Even though he doesn't speak of it, he enjoys, and is rather skilful while playing the mandolin after practicing throughout the years. Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your skin): Traveling on the road has made him slightly leaner. His hair is cut a little longer than normal, brown in colour, tied up neatly at the back. His skin is rather pale and he has close to no emotion showing in his eyes. He typically wears practical, simple clothing made of rough spun and linen, and for armour, he wears hardened, boiled leather over padding. He carries his sister's mandolin upon his back, playing it at peace from time to time, remembering his past as a child. Any other details you wish to share about your character: Not currently at this moment. Open-Response-Questions Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.
____ 1. Whilst in the mighty human capital you notice a dark-clothed figure stealthily making his way towards the Emperor’s palace - he is clearly up to no good. There are guards within shouting distance - what do you do? Answer: I witness the sturdy figure in the distance, making his way up to the emperor's palace. I understood that I needed to be quick to possibly stop a villainous act I believed was about to happen. I refused to shout as it may of alarmed the figure of my presence, and instead ran to the guards to inform them about the situation at hand. Agreed and without a plan, we all made our way to the palace in attempt to stop the figure's act. The heavy thud of the armour crashing against the guard's body alerted the figure, in which made him react and turn to bail. I reached for my bow in attempt to stop the bailing figure, but he was too far ahead. 2. Whilst wandering in the deep oak forest you come across a large clearing, in which sits a small cobbled cottage. Outside it stands an unstable old man armed with a small iron blade, surrounded by two heavily armed bandits - they appear to be threatening him. You are armed with leather armour and an iron long sword, how do you react? Answer: As I wandered deep into the oak forest, I heard the muttering of man, begging to stop an attack. As I turned the corner, I spot two heavy armoured bandits threatening an old, unstable looking man. Knowing I wouldn't stand a chance against the force of their swords, I hide in the bushes, slowly creeping closer. The conversation gets louder with every step I take. Not even one thought about it, I glance over to the group and throw a stone I found on the ground. Alarming the bandits, one of them chose to walk behind to see what had caused it. In a hurry and without a thought, I run over to where the old man stood, and pushed the long sword through the shoulder of the unaware bandit, causing him to fall to the floor in pain. I quickly guide the old man into the bushes, knowing I wouldn't stand a chance against the other brute. In a panic, the other bandit runs after witnessing his friend on the floor, leaving him behind. 3. You are standing within the mighty human capital when you notice a small man standing behind a colourful stall. You approach the stall and notice that the man is selling a variety of general goods - he says that he is selling just about anything and that he has no set prices. He is willing to allow you to haggle and choose prices. What do you do? (Explain: your haggling, items of choice and the discussion that happens). Answer: I browse through the collection of delicious foods, well smelted armour and weapons that the stall had to offer. Though none of it seemed necessary to me. I carried only a small amount of money, and preferred to use it for something well worth. I decide to walk away.
"You there, have you no interest in anything I have to offer?" the small man says as I begin to walk away.
I turn to face him. "No, sorry sir. I have no use for any of your general goods at this moment." I say.
"Please sir, I hate to beg. I have a wife and two children to feed. I do not earn enough to make them happy, we've been rationing as of lately because I, unfortunately do not make enough coins."
I sigh, but understand how the poor man feels. I walk up to his stall and give him the small amount of coins I had currently carried with me.
"That's all I have sir, I'm sorry to hear about the way you're currently living. I understand you're living poor, and that is no good way to live. Make sure to look after your two children."
I smile and walk away, knowing I did that man a good deed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
