    The Undead Scourge

The refugee train was suffering heavily. They had already been through several skirmishes with occasional undead, and were running out of supplies. To make matters worse, several women and children were starting to become pale and have long coughing fits. There were not many soldiers in the group, and barely any weapons. It was apparent to all that if they did not find refuge, the Scourge would overtake them.

The refugees drag themselves into the monastery, barring the doors and salvaging whatever wood they can to cover up the windows. There they sit, huddled in the darkness, draped in the deathly air and the smell of their own fear.

A skeletal figure slowly shuffles out of the woods. It turns its eyeless skull towards the monastery, shambling towards it, letting out a demonic screech. The other undead quickly answer the call, and from the forest arises the ghastly shapes of skeletons and ghouls.

The refugees grab their swords and their sticks, preparing to fight. Though their hands are clenched and white, determination is in every face, as they had resigned to their fate - there is no escaping from death.

On the door there is a knock. Then two. The undead scratch and thrash at the door. Viciously clawing at the surface, their bony fingers rip apart the soft, rotting wood. The barricade does not last long, and soon the nightmarish soldiers break into the dilapidated building.

Somehow the refugees manage to repel the first wave of attacks, but by now the undead has completely surrounded the monastery, and most able-bodied refugees have already been injured.

As the second wave advances, the ominous scrape of fleshless feet against cobble pavement is the only sound in the dark night.

    The Undead Scourge

Prince Arthas has returned. The Burning Legion had been defeated, and the Lich King remains as the sole ruler of the Scourge. The Capital of Lordaeron lies in ruins, its halls empty and forgotten.

In Eastern Lordaeron, trouble is brewing...

    ((Source - http://wolfgan.deviantart.com/art/Plaguelands-203033541))

Now known as the Plaguelands, a deathly red mist suffocates the former territories of Lordaeron. An acidic rain falls from the gloomy sky, bouncing off the twisted leaves of warped trees.

The dark silhouette of an elven woman emerges from the shadows. Arthas' voice echoes in her head:

"The humans seek to flee to the lands of the south. Destroy them."

She watches as the tired refugees stop to rest in the ruins of a monastery. Raising her hand, she signals for an attack. Behind her, foul creatures made of death and nightmare rise out of the darkness...

  3. Accepted, although to be clear Stormwind isn't directly threatened by the horde in this period since they're in Kalimdor, although Blackrock Orcs remain a concern.

I'd also like to point out that the Alliance Remnants would much more likely be focused on reclaiming their lands from the Scourge than going hunting for orcs.

  4. Forum Name: Firedragoner

Faction (Name of Group): Banshees, later on Forsaken (If Lich King is weakened)

Alignment (Alliance aligned, Undead aligned, etc): Scourge

    Faction Leader: Sylvanas Windrunner

    Starting Location: Lordaeron

Are you relatively clear on this faction’s lore in the era specified? (if not, use wowwiki for fuzzy bits): Yes, I have played through the game at least three times.

Describe your faction’s goals and motives (a few sentences or bullet points): Due to the nature of the enslavement, forced to follow the orders of the Scourge - however memories remain, and any slight opportunity presented to free themselves will be immediately taken.

  5. An old orc walks through the desert, alone in the pale moonlight. On his back he carries a worn leather bag, full of books and paper and writing utensils. He slumps down on a dune to rest and hastily scribbles some notes on a piece of paper. Several minutes later he resumes his journey, and sets off into the desert once more.

    OOC:

Mutak Gro-Buk is an orc who has taken the duty of detailing orc culture and history.  His goals are to both preserve  the culture/history as well as spread awareness to other nations to try and get rid of the image of "primitive" and "barbaric" that many people hold towards the orcs.

(He is considered "old" because  he is reaching the age where most orcs usually die out from battle, and not that he is reaching the natural death age of orcs)

It would be extremely helpful if Mutak is not considered whitewash, because although he journeys to other nations and has an un-orcly profession (scribe/scholar), his aim is to preserve and glorify orc culture, and he is writing in Blah, not common.

If you guys do consider him whitewash, just keep in mind that he's a full grown orc , and be prepared for books flying at your head and avoid his bashing stick...

  6. WC3 Human: Gilneas please!

Also, if early enough, would High Elves become a faction? Also, no blood elves!? They are in WC3 too!

And for Orcs, will the Blackrock be a seperate faction? Same for Dark Iron?

Blood Elves aren't in the base WC3 game, they're in the Frozen Throne expansion

Which is why I wanted a Frozen Throne option, as it would include most of the WC3 factions as well as adding a lot more (Forsaken, Blood Elves, Naga, Nerubians, Pandaren etc.)

  7. Why "no pinkiez"? The more interaction with other races, the more roleplay. It's often difficult for the orcs to roleplay amongst themselves simply because it's typically a group of good friends. Throw in pinkiez and you get more roleplay.

That's how I see it, at least.

I'm a huge fan of TES orcs and this brings back on of my favorite aspects of TES orc culture. If you are trusted to the orcs (in the games by completing quests and stuff), then you become an equal and as much an orc as anyone else. I think the acceptance of other races into arenas and other events (maybe hunting/wars etc.) can help bolster overall impression of the orcs as well as add a new interesting aspect into orc culture.

  8. Graarg reads over a pamphlet with a confused look on his face. After somewhat interpreting it, he turns around to examine the human behind him ramming his horse into a tree over and over again. After a few minutes the man dismounts the horse and promptly jumps off a cliff.

((The incident mentioned above happened to me just an hour ago))

    Definitions

    In
your own words define the following terms. Do not take any definitions from
    elsewhere!:

Role-playing: The portrayal of a unique or known character usually from fiction, with the
"player" assuming the role of the character.

Meta-gaming: Using information that is not known to your character to benefit yourself, for
example if you know how to do complex calculations, or you know the entire map
of the game world, but your character is a poor farmer not educated in many
    things.

Power-emoting: Acting or doing something that the other person does not have the chance to reply to
or act: e.g. "I leap upon my enemy and severely wound him, and then
    scramble away without harm."

    In-Character
    Information:

    Complete
the following biography on your character:

    Full Name: Graarg Wymond Wintersmith

    Current Age: 22

Past / History (include childhood, major-events, etc. 2+ paragraphs long):

The Kru Clan was not really a clan. It was just a small tribe of orcs who had grouped together in order to survive the perils of the desert. They roamed the desert, setting up camp at small oases.

They claimed tobe of direct descendants of Krug, but this was never proven. But their

existence came and went like the wind; one day they disappeared into the
desert. Nobody heard of them again.

There were rumors that in a southern human village near the border of the Orcish
nation there was an affair. An orc had supposedly been with a young woman. But
when investigators reached the house, there was nothing left inside the house
but sand quietly swirling about the floor.

Months later, with all memory of this incident gone, an old farmer and wife despaired.
They were much past the age of pregnancy, and they did not have a heir.
But one night, there was a knock on the door. And there was soft wailing at the
    door.

They named him Wymond, a human name which meant "battle protector". It
signified his sturdiness and strength, which he displayed at a young age.

When he was a toddler, he got into a fight with a human toddler over a toy. He
punched the other boy so hard he flew away into a haystack. After that incident
all the human children avoided him.

He sought refuge with the pigs, the only ones who would not run away from him. He
played in the mud with them all the time, and had to be frequently dragged out
for a bath in the nearby river.

When a pig was ran over by a traveling merchant elf's cart from Leumalin, the elf
refused to apologize and sneered at the old farmer. Wymond flew into a rage and
flung himself at the elf, but was batted away easily, for the elf was a full
grown man and he was merely a child.

Fifteen years later, the old couple died peacefully, and left the entire farm under his
ownership. But when the contractor found  that the farm was now run by a
half-orc, he immediately terminated the contract. And so this way Wymond set
out into Anthos to find a job and a goal in life. Adopting the name
"Graarg" for use in speaking to orcs, he hopes to find others like
him or a culture that will accept him.

Ambitions for the Future: To find a society that accepts him, as well as find out
    who his real parents were.

Personality: Graarg holds a very wary perspective of all those around
him, as he knows how half-orcs are hated in all the nations. However, if he
finds someone trustworthy, he does not hesitate to open up to them. Because of
this, he may be considered naïve in some aspects, as staying on the farm for
most of his life did not let him experience much of the world. Because of the
run-in with the elf, he believes all elves are like the one he met and holds
them in disdain. Although he tries to keep his temper in check, he can be
provoked into a fit of fury, losing his ability to logically think temporarily.

Skills: Because of working in his foster-father's farm, he knows
basic sowing, tilling and harvesting. He also knows how to manage livestock,
mainly taking care of the pigs at home. In addition, he also enjoys reading,
even if only signposts are available nearby. He had gone to see a mentor who
has been teaching him how to write. He has also been taught to wield a weapon
to defend himself and the farm, but aside from basic training he is not an
expert swordsman. Although he does not want to fight anyone, when a fight does
    commence, he sincerely enjoys it.

Appearance (this must include an in-game screenshot of your
    skin):
Graarg is very pale skinned for a green orc, with a slightly blue-greenish shade. His tusks are much less protruding and smaller than the average orc, which makes him able to pronounce
common much easier than common orcs, but still with a noticeable accent. His
height is also much closer to a human than an orc, and he is less muscular than
what you might find in a regular orc soldier. Being adopted by farmers he does
not have much money, and his clothes reflect this.

    Open-Response-Questions

Each question in this section must be answered with a minimum of
one paragraph which must describe the event in full. Please be as descriptive as possible and do not break character or lore at any point.

    ____

    1. You are roaming the mighty capital of the War Nation Of Uruks, as you near the Arena you spot an Orc, wearing what seems to be human garbs as he looks at you he smiles and say out loud in common not in blah “Come friend let me teach you of civilization and break your
mind from this orcish savagery!”, how do you react?

Answer: Graarg turns his head, uninterested and growls in a low
voice: "Go away." The orc, astounded by his good pronunciation
compared to his own and the intimidating dismissal, turns around and flees.
Graarg watches him run down a small alley, and notices the light catch on a
small knife hidden on his back. It turns out he was in fact a con-man trying to
get victims into the secluded alley. Graarg shakes his head and walks away,
continuing his journey through San'Orka. Unbeknownst to him, the orc is later
found stealing from a man and is banished from the nation.

    2. As you are watching an Arena fight between
two Orcs, the Goj of Krug walks towards the Arena, and shouts “Mi brudderz
da Feztivel ob Krug iz coummeh! We needz zacrifizez tu zummun da Zpirit ob Krug un diz uzg, go gadder
da Warbandz nd raid da landz nd bring mi buck zacrifizez, twiggy nd pinky
dat we kan zlauhater upun da alter ob Krug nuw go mi Brudderz!” How do you react
    to this?

Answer: Seeing the Goj walk into the Arena shouting an
announcement in blah, Graarg pulls his cloak closer around him and sneaks away,
in fear of his pale skin being noticed and thereafter captured for being
whitewash. Slinking away in an alley while the soldiers bustle through the main
street, he accidentally bumps into a hooded stranger, with his face obscured
from the light. Heart pounding, he hastily apologizes and backs away. The
figure then falls over revealing two young goblins messing around. Graarg wipes
the sweat off of his forehead and helps the goblins get back up. They giggle
    and run away.

    3. As you are travelling in the barren Orcish deserts you
come across a quiet oasis. Beside it sits a small tent where a young
orc is preparing a meal of roasted halfling. He calls you over, offering you to join in with his meal. What does your character do?

Answer: "Ug, bruddah. Lat wantz zome of this snaak?" Feeling
extremely hungry after a long trek in the desert, Graarg cautiously approaches,
using a blah accent to avoid detection as a half-orc. "Yub, rulg lat"
He sits down next to the youth and eyes him warily, but still accepts the meal
graciously. After a while of silence, they have a hearty conversation
concerning the extremities of the desert. Fortunately, the youth does not seem
to realize Graarg is a half-orc. "Where lat be going next? Blarg?"
the youth asks him. "Mi nub haz blarg" Graarg says in a low voice.
Concluding the warm meal, he bids the orc farewell, finally feeling full after
a couple of days in the barren wasteland.
